I went gluten free in January. I haven't felt this good in YEARS! I had always thought that it was tomato sauce that gave me heartburn or perhaps I ate too many pancakes that made me sick. Boy, was I wrong. It was the gluten making me sick. I occasionally have gluten free pancakes and have no problems at all!

I have some tried & true recipes that my family loves. (The teens didn't realize they were eating gf!)

I have to live gluten-free even though testing doesn't say I am allergic. I am just intolerant, which doesn't show up in testing. I have had to live this way for 20 years now and I feel SOOO much better. When I get "nuked" with gluten, I feel it for days afterward.

Refuse to be beaten by inanimate objects, inflexible minds, and incompetent practices.

Results are all normal in blood work, my X-rays n ultrasound also normal. On one hand I'm grateful but on another hand I spoke to my doctor and she says to continue with a restricted and monitor my diet and play around with incorporating foods and keep my food journal going. We are chalking it up to some kind of food intolerance. It's still recommended that I should schedule my endoscopy but my gut feeling is telling me it'll probably by normal. She suspected IBS but still not the case emoticon so time will tell. Thank you to those who responded with suggestions!

I read a bit on Gluten Free when I thought maybe that was my problem. It's surprising how many foods have Gluten in them. I don't think it's easy to give it up, but there is so much info out there now about it. The best thing to do is to wait for all of your tests to come back and then go from there. Maybe see a dietician. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Thank you! The doctor has me coming in for an ultrasound and x rays this Sunday and I have to schedule an endoscopy. I'm waiting for a blood test to come back.. they ran a test to determine whether or not I may have celiac diease. All I know is sometimes when I eat or heck even drink fluids my body- stomach severely bloats. It's not gas.. or acid, I will bloat like there's an air balloon growing out of me. I'm not sure if it's too much liquid either because I drink tea so I naturally release the water retention. It becomes very uncomfortable and the abdominal pains are sharp. sighs... well one step at a time and hopefully I'll get answers soon.

Gluten intolerance is not the same as celiac disease, where gluten makes you extremely sick. There are tons of recipes on Spark that are gluten free. See what you think at:

Hello! So I just saw my gastro specialist last Tuesday and I may have a gluten intolerance! emoticon . I'm having a troubles with it. It's hard enough for me to stick to clean eating and to add "stay away from lactose and gluten" It's truly a lot of pressure for me. Please if anyone knows anything about this please I need advise on how to transition and any recipes out there that sticks out? (Am I over thinking this?) Thank you.
