Oh, honey, I used to do that a lot and still do it at times. It can be really depressing and make you psychotic about what you eat. I had to have my DH hide the scale from me for a few weeks just so I would quit obsessing. Since we got it back out I'm finding myself doing it again. Everytime I go to the bathroom, get out of the shower, change clothes...it can get to be too much.
I usually weigh once a week, on Saturday mornings after potty, and fully nakie. But i have been known to weigh through the week. But one thing i wanted to say is that what you eat, might not show on the scale right away. Just like exercise. For me, if i eat well one week and do really well with cardio and exercise, it might not show that week, but the following week it kicks in. now, of course i know we have variations daily from water weight, sodium, and the actual weight of the food in our bellies and digestive system. So even if through the week it is up a bit i try not to dwell on it. I might just need to have a BM, lol..
i weigh every day to see how different things affect me, like certain foods, water intake, sodium intake, protein, carbs, all that stuff. i only weigh in the mornings though, i don't hop on the scale several times a day, and up until last week, i'd weigh and record the number, and then forget about it for the rest of the day. it all depends on your preference for when you weigh yourself.
Hello there! I'm intrigued...why do you weigh yourself every day? I am currently only weighing myself once a week (same time, same place, etc, etc). Is there something that I should know about or change how often I get weighed? I'm just curious; any helpful information that may help with weight loss is certainly always welcome.

Ok, first calm down. What your are describing happens to me all the time! I always freak out too - the important thing is not to give up.
Has the weather changed in your area lately? When it gets really hot, I retain water and put on up to 3 pounds. Have you gone to the bathroom? that can be up to 2 pounds, believe it or not.
Have you just lost 5 pounds or so? That can be your body adjusting to a new "set point". Was 142.5 a weight that you held for a while in the past? Then it's a comfortable weight for your body, and it's trying to hold on to it.
There could be hundreds of reasons. So just keep going, and see what happens in 7 days. Yes, 7. That's how long it can take to break through a "set point".
If you really want - and you don't mind - there are certain foods you can eat to break a set point. It's recommended that you have grapefruit at breakfast, tuna and grapefruit at lunch, and fish and grapefruit at dinner for two days. Also, drink all of your water with at least 1/4 cup of lemon for those two days. This will help your metabolism and body memory break through.
Hope this helps :)!

I weigh myself every day, and it usually doesn't affect the rest of my day. BUT, this week has been hell. Saturdays are always my cheat days, so I'm always up on Sunday from where I was on Saturday. This past weekend I was at 141.5, then I had my cheat day, and was up to 142 on Sunday. No big deal. Sunday I ate 1315 calories, no exercise. Monday I'm up to 142.5, and I think whatever, probably just retaining water. So, Monday I eat like 1230 calories and I do 30 minutes of cardio, burning 130 calories (according to www.caloriesperhour.com). Tuesday, I'm still up to 142.5! So Tuesday I eat 1212 calories or something like that, and I do the same cardio as Monday, plus I do some push ups (100 push up challenge). Today, I'm STILL up to 142.5, and it's starting to get to me! I know my sodium levels are a little higher than normal this week, but I'm still under 2,200 mg of sodium per day, and I drink like a gallon and a half of water a day (seriously). It is supposed to be TOM this week, but I normally NEVER gain from TOM! What is going on??
