Glad to hear that Lil is doing better! Ear infections are such a pain in the butt! Arianna had one in both ears at the same time which was a pain. I wasn't up for massaging her ear either so don't feel bad! I'm not sure that she would have let me touch it though! She was pretty possessive over it!

Well, I took her in, and the whole cough/vomit thing seems to be "normal" with all of the illness that is going around lately. There are 10 kids in her class, and 6 of them were out yesterday with the same thing. I'm glad I took her because all of that drainage caused an ear infection in the left ear. She seems to have more energy, but is still coughing a lot and her appetite is back to normal yet.
My neighbor told me that her chiropractor treats her kids' ears and she massages the ears 20-30 minutes a day when they have ear infections to get the drainage out. So, I felt like a bad parent for a bit, because I have no desire to massage my kid's ears and wait for her fever to subside so she can go back to school. I know ear infections can be treated without meds, but I took the easy way out with the antibiotics. Oh well, this is only the second time she has been on antibiotics since she was born, so I think we are doing okay so far.
Thanks for your concern everyone. I'm ready for cold and flu season to be over! I have known so many people who have tested positive for influenza this year. Scary!!! Wishing everyone health!

Julie, how did you make out with Lillian? Did you go today to the Dr? How did she sleep last night?
Some of that coughing is going on in our house too...scared the daylights out of us this morning at 130am..sounded like he was gasping for air and we dont have his video monitor in his room anymore cuz it broke...so scary. I'm thinking its time we find a new monitor for that room...I hate not seeing if he's ok...gives me anxiety.
The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. All the rest is a piece of cake ; )
Has anyone's little one had a case of RSV or croup yet? Last year Lillian was in an in-home daycare, so she did not get sick that often. Her colds in the past have been minor. Well, last Sunday she started acting lethargic and had a little cough. All week she had a warm forehead and her cough seemed to be getting worse. I had to pick her up from school today due to a fever. The bad cough is still there, appetite is low, and she just seems sickly. Tonight she started crying which lead to coughing which lead to alternating between coughing and throwing up for several minutes. It seemed like she was choking on phlegm or something. I don't want to over react and certainly want to let the virus run the course, but I also like to go to the doctor "just to make sure". I'm hoping this is the worst it'll get and then we'll be over the hump. What do y'all think? Would you sit tight over the weekend or should I try to get her in at the Dr tomorrow? I don't expect to get meds, just a diagnosis and a little reassurance.
