Well, I took her in, and the whole cough/vomit thing seems to be "normal" with all of the illness that is going around lately. There are 10 kids in her class, and 6 of them were out yesterday with the same thing. I'm glad I took her because all of that drainage caused an ear infection in the left ear. She seems to have more energy, but is still coughing a lot and her appetite is back to normal yet.
My neighbor told me that her chiropractor treats her kids' ears and she massages the ears 20-30 minutes a day when they have ear infections to get the drainage out. So, I felt like a bad parent for a bit, because I have no desire to massage my kid's ears and wait for her fever to subside so she can go back to school. I know ear infections can be treated without meds, but I took the easy way out with the antibiotics. Oh well, this is only the second time she has been on antibiotics since she was born, so I think we are doing okay so far.
Thanks for your concern everyone. I'm ready for cold and flu season to be over! I have known so many people who have tested positive for influenza this year. Scary!!! Wishing everyone health!
