(Well I did use my Wii a couple of times since I last posted two weeks ago, but - I have also been walking outside quite a lot because it is nice. Today I stayed home with a cold, it was so easy to just lounge on the sofa. But I have met my goal of walking 12 miles/week for the last three weeks and don't want to ruin it now! So turned on the Wii tonight and had fun, felt great. I have to say - I have fun with the game and know it's better than sitting on the sofa all the time, but I wasn't 100% sure it was really helping me in terms of cardio/stamina. But last Saturday I did a 5 mile outside walk in much less time than usual and felt great at the end! No other reason I can think of except for sticking to WIO for the last couple of months! Woo hoo!)

OK good the obsession is setting in ... today I really wanted to have a rest day but couldn't stand the thought of not adding some steps and adding to the Island. I think I have a bad habit of putting too much pressure on the front of my foot when I walk. The orthotics have helped but I am starting to feel some discomfort where I had the torn plantar plate last fall. So today I really focused on trying to walk properly and use my whole foot. TMI? But that seemed to help, my foot doesn't hurt after today's walk! So, I built a high-rise hotel, planted several more cherry trees, added an hour to the clock, and just generally grew trees and added streetlights as I went along. Not a banner day but more than I had planned and it feels good to have a streak going!

Had problems getting peppy this morning, you can tell that I only walked 10 minutes less than yesterday but covered a whole mile less! Still not a bad day in terms of # of steps and time spent walking vs. sitting. Grew a flower field up on the ranch and baled some hay, built another windmill, planted quite a few trees as I was walking about, and added one more hour to the magic clock. Not a bad day's walk!

After such a long walk yesterday I thought I might take it easier today but, got into it again! I was a little later today, so I DID build the airship! What fun to see it flying around. And opened another route to the flower fields, but still one more route to go. Built the Burger Champ near the clock tower. And, planted a fair number of trees (including a couple more cherry trees in honor of the cherry blossom festival in DC still ongoing), added another hour to the magic clock (yay!) and had a great day in general. OK I walked outside a couple days this week so there wasn't as big a gap as it seems. Just so you know I am not a morning person but for some reason was up and Walking It Out by 7:30 this morning. Loaded up on clock pieces and added two hours to the Magic Clock! I was hoping to build the airship today but it was too early and I didn't feel like changing the clock time, so built another suspension bridge instead. And added two more routes (flower fields and park area) - looks like maybe only one to go? Planted quite a few trees along the way, too, and added a couple of songs. Proud of myself for getting so much done so early!

Today I went crazy for some reason, it was kind of late and there were lots of zodiac pieces out, I just couldn't stop walkingl Collected lots of zodiac pieces but somehow didn't manage to add any constellations. Did add a route to the beach, yay! Added some songs, planted a couple more cherry trees and deciduous trees. Felt like lots of progress even though the stats didn't change much.

Today, in honor of the cherry trees FINALLY blooming here in the DC area, I planted a whole bunch of them in the park area around the lake!
And, built a house, a barn, and an apartment building. AND - added about three new songs, AND - only collected a few clock pieces but it was enough to add two hours to the magic clock! Great day. And of course, found my:

Made myself dizzy today going around & around the outside of the stadium, growing all the trees and building streetlights. Plus a couple of stands and a car. Only picked up a few new song pieces but they must have been the last ones in the "pie" because I added 4 new songs to my playlist! And, just one magic clock piece but added an hour! AND ... found my rainbow!

Well, I've been writing them down, so seems a shame not to use them. Strike while the enthusiasm is hot is what I say. Totally addicted to this game. :-) I knew I'd love it, but it has taken a very long time to find a British copy that wasn't really seriously expensive.

3/10: MOMENT OF PANIC! After a really great walk with lots of accomplishments, just as I'd finished the rainbow and got that clock piece I was looking for but then thought, I will finish ths song and get some tree capsules to use up my credits, I got the message: "Communications with Wii Remote interrupted." Noooooo! Luckily everything was still there when I got the nunchuck plugged into the othter remote. Whew!

Again I did more than planned,I keep trying to not overdo. I also did 25 min of upper body strength exercises on the Wii Active. Also looked for clock pieces along the way, not many this time of day but I did finish another hour! Got one more route (to the ranch), and - built quite a few trees, planters, streetlights etc. Always love getting that rainbow.

Hooray! Using my Wii I met my 12 mi/week goal for my virtual hike across america team. And, I got my first constellation! (Capricorn), plus picked up a few pieces of others. And while "townbuilding" doesn't show much difference (still 27%) I built some good things today - opened a route, built the lighthouse, another windmill, and the bridge to Lookout Mountain! A very exciting day. And, I got my rainbow!

OK, doesn't look like much progress compared to yesterday - "events" show no change at all. BUT - I told myself I would only collect constellation pieces since I didn't have many. I got a lot l.. just not enough to complete any one constellation! And I think I built a couple of flower beds along the way, and the church. And, built my rainbow!

Today I wasn't feeling really peppy to start so got more "greats" than "perfects" - but, warmed up as I started unlocking fun things! Plus the occasional deciduous tree when my coach yelled at me for not unlocking events ... and, got my rainbow!
