Number six can indeed be a challenge! It has been my experience that by becoming a "watcher of my thoughts", I am better prepared to immediately changed unwanted emotions. This has taken a lot of practice, but it can be done! I sometimes have to "take out the trash" as Dan Millman puts it. In other words, I take a mind dump when I realize my emotions are not as good as I would like them to be. It is at that moment that I choose a really uplifting thought (like the "Shifter" that Abraham has taught us about. I have about five of them I can use, and I am always prepared!
How many of you have prepared "Shifter's" to use when you recognize your emotions/thoughts are not as high as you would like them to be? List them here!
Mine are: Remembering You Tube video's where
One: A cat sneaking up on something it can't identify and jumping five foot off the ground
when it moves!
Two: A baby taking it's first taste of peas, carrots or lemon!
Three:Visualize my ideal place of being like a beautiful tree-lined pasture filled with buttercups. Ahhhh
Four: I visualize being back in Germany and walking down an 800 year old cobblestone road. The sites and smells of the town bring me back to a joyous, peaceful time.
Five: I remember a hilarious event I experienced with my husband. He had a dream where three HUGE spiders had dropped down from the ceiling and where right in front of his face. (he sleeps in his birthday suit). He jumped out of bed, ran screaming across the room (naked) and turned on the light while screaming "F me!" He flipped on the light, standing there breathing hard and his eyes bulging out of his scull. He actually thought it had happened! Did I mention this was three o'clock in the morning and my dad was sitting in the living room watching TV? I had to get up and go tell him what had just happened, after all, all he heard was a blood curdling scream and "F me!" It took me 20 minutes to stop laughing enough to tell him what had just happened.
