Wow! Dot, you have been through a lot recently and have more to go through - no wonder you haven't been here for a while. I am new since you last were here, I think, so I am glad to make your acquaintence.

I am heading off to NY tomorrow for a few days of helping get some support in place for my very elderly parents. I hear they are having warm weather in comparison to Maine - in the single digits!!! LOL emoticon

Hello All,

Sorry again for not coming on enough. I have not been feeling well and have also been trying to do things at home. We have a lot of stuff going on right now. I will definitely try to do my best to come on more regularly.

About 3 weeks ago I had to go to the eye doctors and have laser surgery done on my eye's. When I had my Cataract surgery about a year ago, I developed wrinkles in the support that holds the lens in place. The doctor called it fog, because it almost looked like your looking through fog all the time. He did one eye one week and then the other the following week. I have to go back to him today to make sure that everything is in place and looking like it should. I do see a lot better now too.

On February 8th I am having a surgery done on my left thumb. I have for many years now been getting Cortisone shots in both of them every 3 months. That's because you can't have them any closer together than 3 months. It is just going to be Day surgery. I have a small bone that is a little of to the side and has Arthritis in it too. The doctor is going to remove that bone and put some ligaments in it's place. I'm not sure where he is taking the ligament from yet. I won't be able to use it for 6 weeks. So I will have to type with one hand. I now have to go to a lot of appointments to get the clearances to have it done. Yesterday I got to go to my lung doctor and also got some blood work done too.

Our temps have been in the minus numbers but last night it got down to 14 below. Our Siberian Husky didn't even want to stay out for any length of time. We are now suppose to be starting to warm up til next week. We might even get into the low 40's. That would be nice for a change.

Hope everyone is doing the best they can, and I will pray for all those that need it.

Best wishes to you all. Hello All

Hi Everyone! This week has been typical Maine weather. That is "Wait a minute and it will change" lol Monday I was taking a walk with no coat on just like it was Spring. Tonight I had a very slow and slippery drive home from work. No walk today but that's okay. Like Sandy, I am making progress on making room in the house for my exercise equipment. Tonight I will use my glider that is set up in front of the tv in my daughter's bedroom. (She's at college) I still have to find a place for my pilates machine. One step at a time....that's what I keep telling myself. Hope everyone is well and enjoying successes! We need to be good to ourselves!

Hi Everyone!

I can''t believe that it was snowing last time I posted! I have posted on a couple of the other forums.

I am doing well, Lost 4 pounds since end of December. I will take that!

I have my exercise room back, as it was stacked high with empty boxes. Had an antique dealer visit Sunday and bought several boxes of stuff which has been on my dining table for almost 3 months! YEAAAAAAAAA . . . I now have my table back too! And a little cash as well! Success all around! Now the trick it to use the exercise equipment! No excuses allowed, the boxes are gone!

How is everyone else doing?

Did you get out for that taste of spring yesterday? Hope you didn't get too used to it! It was just a teaser!

Have a great week!

Hello All,

Our weather yesterday was in the 50's. We even broke a record for the warmest day in January. I hope that everyone is doing ok. There isn't any snow in the forecast yet. It is still early though. Winter is not over yet.

Best wishes to you all.

Good Morning Maine!

I suspect most of you are shoveling out! It is a beautiful day here on the coast!
Very WHITE! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

EACHMOMENT2, nice to see you post, It sure has been quiet in here. I suspect we will see a bit of activity as the new year begins . . . . it usually happens that way! I am so glad that I have outgrown the New Year/New Diet phase. It is so much less stressful to work on healthy habits all year long! Less chance of thinking that I have failed. I am so DONE with failure! I just keep plodding along.

I was up at 4:30 this morning, kept the wood stove going, It was beautiful! I do love a goos snow storm. I made some muffins for us, then went outside to begin the clean up around 7:30. Came around 11 for a break. I am a bit concerned that I will not be able to move tomorrow! I am sure I will be in good company!

How are you all doing?

Enjoy the splendor of this beautiful day!

Sandy

Thank you Hikersan for the post encouraging others to own the successes and continuing to grow from there. I have been with Sparkpeople since August 2011 and my lifestyle changes have been a one step forward 2 steps back kind of progress. It isn't just about losing weight for me and that is what I love about Spark. It's about the whole person and it is forgiving.

The holidays are always very difficult for me. Christmas is rife with emotions, temptations, traditions, change of routine, and worst of all winter weather ( I still haven't learned how to get exercise indoors when I can't walk). I continue to work, imperfectly, on getting my water, rest, and at least thinking about what I am eating so that I don't go way overboard on consumption.

I checked out some videos from Minerva with indoor exercise for a pain filled body that just can't do the spark videos because it hurts too much. It is slow for me but I am moving in the direction of better health and that is what positive is all about. An old 40's movie about WWII had this quote: "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" Never give up.

On that note, wishing you all a New Year filled with blessings. May your cup always be at least half full.

Hello to all Sparked Mainers!

Hope you had some quality time with family and are thinking about the year to come.

Have you set some goals . . . nothing big here . . . just little goals like eating an extra fruit or veggie, or perhaps getting in an extra glass of water, can you add 5 minutes to your fitness routine?

Keeping goals simple and achievable is the way to success.

As I look back over this year, I am thrilled with some of the goals I have accomplished in some areas of my life. Others still need work. I just LOVE that SparkPeople is not just a diet, but a tool for success in all areas of life. www.sparkpeople.com/system/index.asp

Between now and January 1st, I will be reviewing my goals, adding a couple of small attainable ones, breaking others into smaller parts so I can begin to be successful with them, and deleting some which are not really leading me in the direction I want to go.

What plans for success are you making?

Wishing you all a healthy, happy, successful new year.

Sandy

Hello all,

Wishing all a Merry Christmas! Not a white one yet, but it is cold enough for the Christmas feel. At least for those who get to be with family and friends, travel will be easier and safer. Our first born presented herself on this day and made us a family. Had a nice birthday breakfast for her before she goes off to work for the day. The years go by fast and she is a young woman now. Have had more treats than I should, but we haven't been inundated with goodies as in years past. Every baked good we are having has fruit as part of the recipe for natural sweetness, nutrition, and fiber. Yeah! Every year I feel as though I am making progress in living a healthy lifestyle. Moving toward my goals not matter the pace. I'm a walker not a runner so it kind of fits.

Hi all,

I'm back home in Maine for a couple weeks for the holidays. It was a rather miserable drive with the weather, slow and steady. What little snow we had on the coast is gone now to cold icky rain. My internet is very limited while I'm home here so I will not be on chatting much. Know I'm thinking of everyone and wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Eating is always a challenge this time of year so hang tight and do your best. We can all start fresh and new goals in January.

Stay safe everyone.

Hello All,

Congratulations to all that having been exercising. It is very good for you to do it. I try to do what I can. It is hard at times.

Yesterday we had my daughter and family come over so that the grandchildren could open their Christmas presents, as we are not going to be here for Christmas so we had to do it earlier. They were very happy with what they got. They also enjoyed the food that we had put out for them all. Nothing too much. Just some finger rolls and some ham and cheese. We also had some brownies, and some chips and dip. The children weren't really interested with eating, they just wanted to open their presents. They loved what they got and it kept them busy for a few hours. We all had a good time.

We are getting some snow now. It started last night. Later today it is going to get warmer and it is going to change over to all rain. Then on Wednesday we are suppose to be getting some more rain. On Friday we are suppose to be getting some more snow into Saturday. I guess we are going to have a white Christmas after all.

I really hope that everybody has a safe and fun Christmas. Hope you all get what you want.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Best wishes to all!

Hikersan and Kizzybean kudos for continuing to meet your goals. Remember that as you workout and build toned muscle that it weighs more than fat but takes up a lot less room. So the scale sometimes doesn't tell the whole picture at the moment. Clothes sizes are variable as you've noted too. So take inventory of how you feel health wise and an honest look in the mirror may at times be the most accurate scale.

The holidays are always hard for me to stay on track with eating and exercise. I snacked way too much yesterday. I am going to do better today. I will have a glass of warm water close by at all times. I am cold and the warm water should help. I walked in the cold yesterday but it did finally warm me up. So need to remember that moving will help in more ways than one, too.

We are looking at a week of troublesome weather. I wish all of you a warm hearth and safe travel.

Hello All,

I have been trying to get some Christmas shopping done and trying to stay in the spirit. I also haven't been feeling all that well.

Our temps are in the teens at night and in the 20's and 30's during the day. We might be getting some snow Sunday into Monday, and then again on Wednesday into Thursday. They don't have total amounts yet, I really hope that it isn't too much.

We are also trying to get ready for our trip so we can spend our Christmas with Scott's parents. They are both in their 80's and still live in their own home. They are really great and I love them very much.

I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

Best wishes to all.

Hope everyone will enjoy their day.

Best wishes to all!

Sandy - well said on how the important thing is the change within. Heathier eating and moving a little bit more is a great success. To change our lifes and continue with that will make us live longer and be healthier no matter what the tag in the jeans says. I know exactly what you say about the cut and design of the clothes. One brand I'm 2 sizes larger than another, I always have to try things on.

Good workout today at the gym. Had some awesome support for the first time from the other ladies who finished the workout before me. That's how it always was at my home gym in Maine but here in FL this is the first time anyone other than the trainer has really cheered me on to finish. I'm always last being 30+ yrs older than the others working out so it's hard to show by example to support your fellow Crossfit buddies. So a breakthru for the southern girls to do that for me today. It really helped me push to finish when I was about to give up. Struggled a little bit with eating today. Out Xmas shopping which I don't really like to do as the $'s go so fast. I don't handle the stress well. I did document all I ate and keeping my eating journal going. Tomorrows a new day.

Plans are to head north on Sunday unless the weather is going to be bad on Monday there. Takes me 2 days to drive home and don't want to drive in the snow if I don't have to. May be waiting till Monday to leave - watching the weather. Anxious to get home to see my DH and family.

Kizzy

Great job on the jeans Kizzy! I had to laugh at the muffin top description, as I know exactly what you mean!

I am just hanging on the line with dropping a clothing size. Of course a lot depends on the cut, and the brand of clothing. I can actually wear a few 18s, but am mostly 20W. Being a pear shape, a straight 20 will not do, unless it is a special curvy fit which some brands offer. So I try not to let the numbers get to me,

I love looking at SP members who show how they can fit into just one side, or leg, of their former size! What great transformations! Most of us will not have that major of a physical transformation, but a lot of transforming takes place within us as we eat, think and feel healthier. That is where it counts the most.

Keep Sparking everyone!

Hi all,

thanks for the encouraging words.

Sandy - awesome job losing that 2 pds. Hang in there thru the holidays. You can do it.

Had a nice non-scale victory this weekend. Went shopping and bought a fitted dress. Would never before have purchased this style but between the loss of 45 pds and toning with my Crossfit workouts I felt pretty good in it. I normally wear lose, baggy, flowy type dressed to hide under. This was a huge step up for me and I felt really good looking in the mirror. I'll wear it on a cruise in January. Defnitely no room for gaining over the holiday season. I'll have to keep trying it on the next few weeks to remind myself to stay the course. Also got some new smaller jeans and sweater. I could actually squeeeeeeeeze into a size 8. Of course the muffin top and fact I wouldn't be able to sit down helped me put them back, but still I've never fit into a size 8 jean, let alone be able to even try to zip them up. Again - they had some stretch to them and I wouldn't have ventured out of the dressing room to even look in a mirror, still felt good when I could zip and button them. Having come from a size womens 18 jean this was a big "wow" moment for me. It's been a long slow journey. I still have 20 pds to lose but every little baby step helps me plug forward.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Hearing you've had a bit of freezing rain today. I'll be heading back home there this weekend for the holidays. It will be nice to see my family.

Kizzy

this morning showed a 2 pound loss of the gain I had in Oct./Nov. I am happy with that. Now to stay the course!

HI all,

Hope everyone is doing well. I had my WW weigh-in and was a little disappointed not to have much of a loss. Down .6. I know a loss is a loss and always good, still always wanting to see a better number on the scale. I think I think my body is adjusting to what I've lost so far so I need to push forward and not get hung up on the number. Still I am so tuned into what that number is on the scale when it doesn't show what I'd hoped I'm disappointed and discouraged. Just helps to vent. December is always a challenge.

Plan for this week: All my dinners planned and groceries stocked, Gym 4 mornings, set a timer for 60 mins when I'm sitting working and get up and walk around for 5 minutes every hour. Write down everything I eat.

Yah! Kizzy Bean what a great moment! An inspiration that a little planning can make a big difference in achieving our goals. Love it!! I am going to put some thought it to how I can plan exercise into a schedule that seems to have taken on a life of its own.

HI all,

Just a quick note. Did go to the movies and very proud of myself. I packed a small bag of microwave popcorn and some apple chips I made. I bought a diet soda at the theater. Knowing I only had a small bag of popcorn I kept waiting to savor it and then amazingly the movie was over and I hadn't had any snacks, just the diet soda. Sort of an "AH HA!" moment - prepare and have a plan really can help.

Have a fabulous day everyone.

Hi all,

Sandy - love the saying. I'm going to save that for a reminder for myself, take it inch by inch.

Lazy day for me today. Back was a little sore so took a rest day from the gym. Puttered around the house and ran errands. Picked up a gaget from Bed Bath and Beyond to make your own chips in the microwave. Had a coupon so figured it would be worth a try. My first attempt wasn't bad, the potatoes were crispy and a good substitute without all the fat and additives. I also tried carrots but that didn't come out as well. Next try I'll cook them longer than recommended, a little soggy and I am looking for crispy snacks. It says you can do apples and pears as well. I'll give them a try too and let you know. Hoping it will give me an alternative snack option when I'm craving those crispy crunchy chips.

Off to the movies tonight. Wanting to see the new Twilight movie. Being here alone is a good chance to go, hubby has no interest. The difficult thing will be passing on the popcorn. I love movie popcorn. Plan....sneak in a bag of lite microwave popcorn and have a diet soda.

Have a great nite all

Kizzy

Hi everyone

Saw on the news it was warm in Maine today for December. Had a great workout this morning. Focusing on my diet and exercise while here alone. Meals planned for the week. Now just to follow thru and not give into temptations that meet you at every corner of the stores. Working on my self control.

Hope you all have a great week.

Hi everyone,

It's been a bit crazy for me the past few days so not checking in here. Interestingly, my diet faltered as well. DH had to leave today and is back home in Maine. Already missing him. Time to focus on my exercise and diet so when I come home in a few more weeks I'll be a bit lighter and ready to face the holiday crunch.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Know some of you are facing challenges right now. Know we're here for you.

Hello All,

Thank you Piggys. I hope that everything is going ok with you and your family. I am definitely going to try and come on more often. It has been a long road but I am going to try to make it different now.

I hope that everyone had a good morning. I was up at 4 with pain and all. Never got back to sleep yet. I usually don't take naps in the afternoon though. I am trying to keep pain away but it is really a hard struggle. It never seems to stop, no matter what I do. Oh well, I just have to keep going.

We have been having snow flurries and freezing rain since last night. The temps are suppose to warm up into the 40's and 50's but so far they haven't. I am glad that we don't have to go out today. I hope that everyone will remain safe if they are going out in this bad weather. Please be careful.

We still have some Christmas shopping to do. I think we are going to try and finish it all up this coming week. We got most of the grandchildren presents bought. Now we need to wrap them.

Hope everyone will be able to enjoy the Christmas season this year. Please as the weather changes, be very careful when you have to go out in it.

Best wishes to you all.

This is a very busy time of year! I agree, checking in does help keep one on track. Especially when you are trying to develop new habits. Just finished week 3 of the 10 minute exercise challenge. Without it I would be a couch potato in the dark and cold. I am having the munchies too, after work and into the evening. Focusing on trying to make at least half that snacking seltzer water or herb tea and a piece of fruit. The ground is white here, but grass is poking through.

So desperate for a walk outside that I walked on the school track yesterday; bundled up against the snow and wind while I waited for my DD's cheerleading practice to be over. It wasn't bad. Rather exhilerating. I was enjoying the exercise so much that I walked 2 miles. When I started it was kind of cold and miserable but my body warmed up and I was enjoying the walking so much that I threw in a little bit of a jog for interval effect . I was ready to stop at 6 laps and then realized that I was ready to go the whole 8. Woo Hoo!

How are the Leslie Sasone videos for walking indoors? Where would I find them in Augusta or Waterville?

If you are going out this morning be careful on the roads. Have a good week.

Good morning,

It seems to be very dark outside this morning! Cannot really tell what is on the ground yet.

Busy week with family and work, too much snacking in the evening! emoticon

Nice to see everyone here! Even a brief stop in, helps keep one on track!

Have a healthy week.

Hello All,

I am sorry that I haven't been on for a while. I am still dealing with health issues. I am however finally on the road to recovery now.

Unfortunately I can't read all the posts right now. I will try again to come back on more often and try to keep up.

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was quiet. We still did a full Thanksgiving meal just for the 2 of us. I love the leftovers, which are now all gone.

Hope that everyone has stayed in good health and getting enough rest to take care of themselves. That is very important for all to do.

The Weather is all over the place. It is changing a lot. One day you have warm temps and then the next day it is freezing. The patterns are so crazy. Here's hoping that all of your weather isn't too bad yet.

Our temperature last night got down to 5 degrees. Our furnace ran an awful lot all night. We only have a small amount in the tank and we are hoping that we don't run out until Monday. We are suppose to be getting some help from the Federal Liheap program. Maine has had the money for 3 weeks now and they are just now giving it out. We called our oil company and they said that they got some of it, but the program didn't give them the names of the people that are suppose to get it. We have to wait until Monday to find out if we are going to get ours. We have only been putting in 10 gallons at a time to get us by. It also is costing us more because of the higher prices. I just hope that we will get some of it to at least get 100 gallons, which is no way close to a full tank, but it will be better than nothing.

I hope and pray that everyone is doing ok. Also, hope that you all can enjoy your day.

Best wishes to you all.

Best wishes to all!

Thanks everyone for the support.

Sandy – fun with family is awesome!!! Little steps and you’re right back in the swing of things.

Piggys - We’ll do this together with positive support and encouragement. Have a very special day.

Eachmoment - Sounds like you got great benefit from your challenge with noticing the sugar tastes and also being in control of your choices. Great job. Setting realistic goals is perfect. Sometimes we try to set these crazy idealistic goals and we set ourselves up for failure. Realistic more obtainable goals allow success. And…success brings more success. You can do it this winter. Maintain and go full blast in the spring. It will be here before we know it.

Had a good morning workout at the gym. Slowly getting to know the folks I’m working out with. They are all youngin’s. I’m ok with being the “old lady” at the workout, I’m doing it for me. They are more talkative to me now. It still doesn’t have the camaraderie of the gym in Maine, miss the fabulous encouragement from my workout buddies there. Still I’m keeping up with it so I know when I’m home in Maine I’ll be stronger, lighter and fitter than when I left so I can do a better job keeping up with them. They follow me on facebook and give me high-five’s and cheers from afar.

Struggled a little bit with eating yesterday. Lots of cravings and couldn’t seem to keep from grazing. Not going to beat myself up, it’s over and today is a new day. Ready to hit this week and work to try to lose a pound before Saturday’s weigh-in.

Have a great day everyone.

Kizzy

congrats on the weigh-in Kizzy! I don't have a scale but hope that I at least maintained over the holiday. What was interesting to me was that I had a lot less interest in overeating than years past. I ate more mindfully. Considered small portions still a treat. Some of the treats were much sweeter tasteing than I remembered from last year. Maybe that sugar challenge I did this fall had more influence than I thought, because I surely haven't given up all sweets. Just have tried to cut back and eat fruit in place of more often.

Back to the routine tomorrow. The end of vacation always comes so fast. It is so cold today that I have no desire to walk. I am going to try some videos on spark and walk in place for a while. Got to keep the 10min streak going. This is week 3.

My goal is to at least maintain my current weight loss and physcial fitness gains over the winter. So many times I have had to start all over in the spring.

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving and that your holiday season will be a blessing.

Had a successful weigh-in at WW this am. Down a pound. With the holiday and eating out a few times I'm very happy with that. Hope to keep the momentum up for the next 4 weeks before I drive home to Maine. Know Christmas is always a challenge with all the parties and eating out. For me each week I can do well before heading home will help me towards my goal. Down 45 pds, 20 to go.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Very different being in FL from home in ME with family. We did get together with 2 other couples from home for dinner. It was a nice day and where I didn’t cook the meal, it was not stressful for me at all. I was happy with how it went, avoided eating the appetizers, only one alcoholic beverage, water the rest of the day. Dinner choices were a plate full of veggies and normal serving of Turkey. I did have pie after but left it with our friends so it wouldn’t be calling me from the fridge. Knowing I have a weigh in tomorrow (Saturday) helped with the temptations. I keep reminding myself of a goal I set to return home at Christmas 10 pds lighter than when I left the beginning of November. I told the girls I workout with in the Maine gym of my 10 pd goal so knowing they are going to see how I’ve done helps give me some extra will power. So far I’ve lost 5 pds so that’s encouraging to me I might actually be able to make that goal. Going to the gym 4 days a week for a tough workout has really helped to shake things up and see the scale creep downward.

Eachmoment – we’re all here for you. GOOD FOR YOU to take care of yourself. You can’t help others out if you are not well yourself. As my mother always said, “the house work isn’t going to go anywhere but the time to do other things will be lost if you don’t take it”. There’s more to life than a spotless house. Hope your tooth feels better soon, that’s a tough way to limit your eating, still you’re looking at the positive side of a root canal.

Sandy - ohhh I so can appreciate the stress eating issue. I am a very big stress eater and had some major stress a few weeks ago that challenged me terribly. Take it one day at a time. Try to purge your kitchen so when the stress is pushing you to eat the only choices are healthy. Even if you overeat too many fruits it’s not going to hurt you like sweets or chips. I found coming here really helped too with my stress, writing about it and getting feed back from folks helped a lot. We’re here for you.

BUGSMIMI - Maine is so crazy, where you can have fog and drizzle then go 5 miles inland and you have sunshine and warmer. Hope the fog lifted so you go to enjoy some sunshine and a nice day.

Have a really nice weekend everyone.

Kizzy

I have help this year by circumstance not to overeat for Thanksgiving dinner. Had a root canal and flue shot yesterday. My brain will take notice of what I am putting in my mouth. I wish I would mindfully eat that way all the time. Loving the sunshine! Hope to go for a walk at our friends house because it will be fun to walk a different road for a change of scenery. Taking the dog leash because having a walking buddy makes it nice.

I haven't accomplished chores around the house this vacation either, but I am doing best for me to take care of my emotional and physical health. I need to recharge to be there for my family in more important ways than a spotless house, etc.

Kizzybean, thank you for the suggestions for getting more veges in my diet. Your support helps me to go the extra step to figure it out and make the lifestyle changes that will give me and my family health.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

How lucky that you have sunshine, Sandy. It is cloudy and the fog is really dense here. Enjoy your day, too.

Hi everyone,

While I have had 5 days off, my plans changed, so I have not accomplished what I had hoped. I am doing the best I can, but eating, should I say stress eating, has taken over! I REALLY need to get a grip on this!

What a beautiful sunny day! Here is wishing that everyone gets to spend some quality time with loved ones, and get outside and enjoy the sunshine!

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all having a good week. It will be busy with the holiday and also a challenge. I love Thanksgiving so I'm going to enjoy the day and then right back on track Friday.

EACHMOMENT2 - I feel blessed I can enjoy time outdoors hiking. I wear knee supports now which have helped, still it is hard on knees and if you have problems hiking isn't often an option. Ideas for getting organized with your foods and veggies. I'm not much on veggies so my stand by's are the quick microwave frozen veggie bags. When I have more time I will do something more interesting. I also will make a veggie soup in the crock pot (ww recipe) and have that on hand for low calorie filler and also help me get veggie servings in. With my meals I have had the best luck by organizing my low calorie dishes/meals and numbering them. I put all the numbers in an envelope. I then take one day a week where I pull out 5 numbers at random and that's my meals for the week (I am often out at least 2 nites a week so only do 5 verses 7). I then can make my grocery list so I have everything I need to cook with on hand. I keep out those recipes and put the recipe folder away. Then there is no guessing what's for dinner, you have everything you need for those 5 meals. Sometimes I change the days I planned to eat certain meals because of changes in schedule but it takes all the "whats for dinner" away so when I get home from work I can just get right into preparing dinner. I'm happy to share recipes if you want some or other ideas that have worked for me. The intitial set up took me some time, sort of picked away at it while watching TV, putting recipes in plastic sleeves, numbering and putting sleeves in a notebook. Now whenever I get I new recipe I just add it to the notebook and add the number to the envelope. This also gives me lots of variety as once I make a meal, that number is thrown away till I've worked through all my meals. Good luck

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Kizzy
