Lizz, I've also read that book, it's really good (I'm also a fan and have about 25 loaded on my Nook HD+ right now). Yesterday I started one my mother in law had, Mary Higgins Clark-Let Me Call You Sweetheart...so far, so good.

The Talk-Funny Girl by Roland Merullo.
I just discovered this author and I have loved everything I've read so far, including this one:
Fidel's Last Days
Breakfast with Buddha

He is a genre-busting author, which is unusual, and very cool. His story-telling transcends. I'm very excited about his stuff!

I will be starting an online college English class, (yes, at age 47!) reading Jane Austin and authors who influenced and were influenced by her. Really looking forward to it.

I'm reading Shadows of a Down East Summer by Lea Wait. It is her newest antique print mystery series. It involves a murder for a woman who posed for the artist Winslow Homer. Ms. Wait captures the atmosphere and the sense of community in Maine. A fun light read.

YOU DON'T SWEAT MUCH FOR A FAT GIRL..observations on life from the shallow end of the pool" by Celia Rivenbark. I have been laughing my fanny off, figuratively speaking.

I was in Camden when they were filming "Thinner". they were filming there and in Rockport. We just rode down for the day, and we didn't know they were there. It was fun to watch.

Perhaps you might like the book, 'Thinner' or 'The stand' neither those are really scary. The book 'Needful Things' was a pretty good read but a little weird in the end.
Anyone else read either of these?

I highly recommend getting a kindle. I love mine and read so much more because of it. You buy the books from amazon.com and it sends them wirelessly to your device in a matter of minutes. I got one for my mom - a firm lover of holding an actual book in her hand... and she loves hers!!!! She loves the fact that you don't have to travel to get a book... they always have what you want and there are a ton of classics for free!

ok, even with a fair shot, and ALMOST a third of the first book read, I couldn't get into the Terry Brooks books. So I was looking at a book at Walmart, and this gal in her early 20s comes up next me and says "Do you like trilogies?" I said it depended on the books. (Terry Brooks books was a trilogy. lol) She says, "that book you are holding is good." I responded with an "is it?" She said "yes, but that book is the last of the three, so you don't want that one yet." lol. So, she gave me the names of the books, in order, and I found "FALLEN" by Lauren Kate at Target. Walmart has the last two when I am ready for them.

"Changeling" by Yasmine Galenhorn. It's the second in her series. It's about supernatural beings, the fae, weres, vampires, etc. I like that kind of stuff :) It keeps me entertained when I just want to get away from the real world for a bit.

I finished People of the Book...enjoyed it...interesting read...chapters are from different people's points of view and in different times in history.
Getting back into Ultramarathon Man...by Dean Karnazes...I'm amazed by ultramarathoners altho am not a huge fan of his writing style...
Will be starting World Without End (Ken Follett) pretty soon-book club read, it comes after Pillars of the Earth-which I have not read and am told it shouldn't affect the experience much...both of these books are huge and I got them on my Kindle for less than $20 for both...such a deal.

Just finished "The Last Child" by John Hart...was a bookclub read. It was ok, but the topic was heavy and difficult to get thru.

I'm now 2/3 of the way thru "Fall On Your Knees" (from Oprah bookclub) and although it is also has difficult topics, it is intriquing and the writing style takes some getting used to, but once you figure it out....it's great!

The Joy Beyond Craving: A Buddhist perspective on addiction and recovery

" Taking ACTION is the ultimate power of Motivation. Nothing beats it, period."

Do not stop enjoying the wonders of life despite the inevitable hurting that impairs our soul. Hence, it does not make you less of a person when you weep in tears and are in distress. Nonetheless, learn to withstand the stings of time; rise on your feet for no one can ever bring back the soul in you and the beauty of life except you, and you and you."

Ooh, I'll have to check out Water for Elephants. I've heard its good.

I'm reading "The Sociopath Next Door". Not my usual type of book but very interesting. One in four people is a sociopath. Crazy.

I'm also reading "Shiver", a young adult book and I think its has werewolves in it.

Love Yourself. Fight for what you want. Be the change.

I loved "Water For Elephants" and I hope to read "Ape House" soon by the same author. Right now I'm reading Tami Hoag' s Night Sins. It's definitely not easy to figure out who guilty of what in this one. You all are reading so many interesting books I don't know where to start next. I'd like to read so many of them.
