I would like to be able to budget more. I know what bills need to be paid, but the rest is like a big question mark. LOL
I like some of you, just keep buying. I am at a different school building, different temperature and office attire, so I have been buying more clothes. Also, some things don't fit. Too small. Hopefully, 2014 will get the weight down once and for all.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger...

yay for thrift stores. My last interview suit was a linen maxi skirt and wool bodice from my local thrift store. bodice was certainly unworn (still had stitches to hold pockets/zippers flat) and the skirt looked like it was, too. $7 for the pair - gotta love that.

I'm not sure what other people will think of this but I've actually gotten around to buying my work pants from the thrift store. Seriously look like they've never been used and only at $3! There were some Lane Bryant slacks that go for way more than $30 for $2.99. Bought them and they fit perfectly!

Otherwise, my goal this year is to start an emergency fund. I've set up my sparksavings budget as well, and so far so good this month. Paid the rent, phone, and car insurance. Given myself $200 free spending money for January...that pretty bad because half is gone already lol and the rest, I hope will get me out of debt completely by June :D

Then everything i bring in will be mine, and that's the peace of mind i want :D

The biggest challenge for me is to not spend money online e.g. Amazon and Ebay on a whim. I need to think carefully before buying as to whether I really need it.

the challenge for me is defining what I "need". I currently only have one pair of pants that aren't patched or holey, but I've operated like that for a number of months and it's certainly not killing me. Do I "need" new pants, or am I just tired of checking whether the holes are too revealing when I get dressed at the start of the day? And did I need the strawberry plants I ordered yesterday? They won't even bear fruit for me to eat until next year, and yet the purchase seems overall like wisely planning ahead...

My resolutions are if I don't need it don't buy it. To use Freecycle more Not to buy appliances unless i really need them and i can't get them on freecycle

I am going to be more involved with this team and I am going to be better about spending money, or rather not spending money. I did my "spark budget" today, and I am going to start tracking my spending - like I do my food and exercise. I'd really like to get out of debt.....

Mine is not to buy clothes unless i really need to.I have tights in my drawer new ones i must have bought 8yr ago as I have not worn a dress for years and only wear skirts in summers with bare legs.There must be about 20 pairs.

It's that time of year again! Do you have any financial resolutions for the New Year? Mine is to create shopping lists and buy only what's on the list. No more impluse buying.
