I spent $24.19 today. It was for a 9x13 baking pan, a Halloween decoration, a Christmas gift, and 3 pairs of inexpensive earrings. I really only needed the baking pan.

$8.50 in lunch tickets for today and tomorrow. I have to watch the tickets, we payroll deduct $25 at a time, then spend the tickets. It's easy to buy extra because I never actually hold the money in my hands. I do better if I spend cash instead.

I spent over $25.00 on precious moments yesterday. I love them & I wanted more, but my husband thought I had enough. I guess that's enough for today. LOL I need to watch what I spend the rest of the month since I blew my extra in one day. Blessing to everyone. emoticon

I spent money twice today
(1) $171 at church, which was a combination of two weeks' tithe, a special offering for the retired ministers fund, and my annual altar flowers for my high school friend who killed himself.
(2) $898 for fuel oil. actually, the money won't come out of my account until they actually fill the tank, and the tank isn't completely empty, so it'll come up somewhat less that that.
no regrets about these expenditures, although I wish I had better insulation on my house...

I figured out how to pay only 19 cents for an item of clothing (like tops). Search Goodwill/second hand stores for brand name in style clothes. Pay $3.69 for a top at Goodwill. Wear it a season or two, when totally bored with it but it is still in style, put into consignment shop. The one here pays you 50% of the selling cost. A top sells there for 7 dollars. Therefore, 3.69 minus 3.50 (my 50 percent share of the 7 dollar top) equals: 19 cents!!! After six months in the consignment shop, they donate it or give it back. So, Goodwill can recycle it once again if you don't get the money. Yee haw.

GREENJW~Good for you! I agree with you in that Goodwill's prices are a bit high.
I just had to have some Japanese food today so I spent $6.95 for a lunch plate that in which I ate half for lunch and will have the other half for dinner tonight. Stretching the buck and not my waistline!

I bought books and a movie at Goodwill for 6 bucks. I found lots of other good stuff that would have been nice, but didn't do it. I went through Cato's clearance racks and didn't buy anything. Then I came home and complained to Goodwill on line about their high prices!

I really did not spend anything today. I sent a package to my daughter for 5.00, which she will send the 5.00 back. I did some copies of things for my son, the other day, and he put that 5.00 back into my fund. Now, I spent it for mail and my daughter will put it back. As soon as it comes back, I need to mail something to a grandson and it just keeps going around. All out of the same 5.00.

Also have a need for dish cloths, so went to the Goodwill and got a cone of beigh yarn for 1.00. So far I have crocheted 5 cloths and should get this last one done today. All of that for 1.00--not too bad.

Friday we spent $8 on baked cookies in the store for a reunion party today. I was going to make them but spent 3 hours packing up books from our pastor's office so I was exhausted! It was a total of 34 boxes!!! emoticon
Today we will spend $5 to get into a city park and probably $10 on raffle tickets at the reunion party. No McDonald's today!

Jem,sorry to hear what happened to you with Qwest. If you dont get satisfaction you might want to consider going to Best Buy and signing up the the Geek Squad. They are a little pricey but they definately come out to your home. I understand your frustration as I am in the same boat. My husband has to contantly bail me out. Good Luck.
Yesterday I spent 1050.00 towards my lease and 94.70 towards my healthcare/life ins. policies. Also, 138.00 on haircut and color ( I know. Im insane). Total spent 1282.70 (Arrgh!)

Shame about that service Jem. Could you be put through to a supervisor? If they don't do what they promised - can you cancel and go elsewhere? It's really disappointing when you buy something and don't get what you thought you bought. :(

Spoke to soon - another bill rocked up in todays mail :( ... spent $95 on groceries this week - just a 'bit' over budget - but we figured we would do 2 weeks worth of shopping this week as we are visiting the inlaws next week and our cupboards are really bare atm. Also spent $3.80 on coffee and..... i put some money in a combined pressie at work for the bosses new baby, and... $16 on lotto, and ... the boy spent $20 on a mothers day pressie....and I hope thats it.

I know I can, I know I can, I know I can....

I signed up for $12.99 a month worth of computer support from Qwest the other day. So, I called up today to schedule someone to come out and help me. The sales person said to me, "call up and schedule someone to come out and help you." I know he said that, When I called today the scheduler said, "No, that is an over the phone service," I said, "But, that's not what I want, and that's not what I thought I bought" He tried to convince me I paid for something that I know is already free from Qwest. So, I had him tell me what I paid for and he could not tell me so I made him sign me up for a service call with someone who knew what they were doing.

The person is coming tomorrow between 8 and noon. We'll see if the person really shows up. But, I can't believe that Qwest is so busy selling services that the service dispatchers think everything is just here let me tell you how to do it over the phone. They never take into consideration that us old fogies don't get half of what we are told about computers over the phone. So many words are totally new words in our vocabulary.

Anyway, I hope the help works. I bought this netbook that has CE instead of Windows 7 and I cannot even get my wifi to work. These are all new words in my vocabulary and I told this person so in loud volume and I thought I was going to have a heart attack because I was going into my super freaked out mode. I'm glad I could come here and talk about it. Or one might say, Vent about what I spent.

Jem

I have not spent a penny today, but yesterday I spent $400. on a pink princess bed. What a nut I am ! I don't even have any kids at home. I had an empty room and decided it would be cute in there. Hopefully, one of these days one of my children will get married and I will have a grandbaby who will use it.

I paid 2 weeks mortgage on one house. $550, $150 mortgage on the other house. $200 on one credit card. Bought more groceries of course can't miss the grocery store. My goal now is to only go shopping on one day a week unless it is for fresh fruits and veggies I need for a meal. Wish me luck. I also went to garage sale and bought a very old very heavy wooden door for $10 don't know what I am going to do with it yet but it was beautiful. LOL.
I bought a book, a microscope, a really nice display that holds 5 potted plants, a little stake for the garden that says every bunny come on in and a microfibre glass cleaner cloth for $6.75
I went to the show with a friend and spend $7 admission and then we went to McDonalds and I had a green tea and muffin for $1.46. Teri

Spent $10 on dance class, $757 on insurance (blech) but i saved $ on paying it upfront rather than monthly, and $50 at the hardware - but we saved $ on doing the paving ourselves than getting someone in to do it for us :) The boy has done a good job too :)

$70 on food shopping, $83 on car membership. Handbag broke today :( I have a little bit of savings now but i didn't want to spend that on a bag..I'm saving up for dvd new moon! hahaha LUCKILY I went raiding in my wardrobe and found a spare woohoo! It's not as pretty but it will do the job until i can save up to get a prettier one. Getting into the habit of saving up for what i want now instead of wacking it on the c/cd... i think i'm doing pretty good :)

$10 dancing and approx $10 for rollerskating with my buddies. We're going 80's stylez - I got my leg warmers and rainbow suspenders ready! hahaha it's gonna be awesome. Also got a 2 for 1 coupon for the rollerskating so hopefully it will be less than the $10 i budgeted for it. :)

I spent $8 on fruit, $43 on hams and apples for my daughter and some for me. $4.69 for my granola I put in my plain yogurt. $10 on 4 blizzards for me, DH, DD, Gson. Deposited $900 to account for money borrowed last week to pay bills. So now all the accounts are all caught up. My disability was in the bank right on time this month because I wasn't desperate for the money. Last month it was a week late and I needed it. Isn't that always the way. Today I paid the hydro for my other house $160 it is monthly the house I live in is every 2 months.

$1.13 for a birthday card. .61 cents for the stamp and I gave a man .01 for his stamp when he asked me to buy him a stamp and gave me a $5 bill. He was in a wheelchair and hard to get into the store. $87 for a passport. That was it for yesterday. Today my tax refund is in the bank but I am going to be real careful with it but I can get stuff all back on track now. WOOHOO! Oh yeah $308. on the hydro bill.
