See my Soul- End my Search by Staci Reyes is a book written by my niece and available on amazon.com. I read this story as three separate manuscripts and really enjoyed it. I have ordered her book and am excited to read the published version. Go Staci!

I started reading the Clan of the Cave Bear series ...again...for the bazillionth time. For some reason, it makes me think about what I eat and want to eat better when I read it. Jean Auel goes in to SO much detail about the food (as well as other things), but cave people food is so interesting, lol!

It's a new credit card month and I've splurged on Amazon. I've bought some Alicia Ransley, a newish discovery of mine, and a Carla Kelly, always a favourite. That's on top of the freebies, so I now have a lot to read. I've worked my way through my old Tracy Anne Warren books, none of which is the one I've been trying to remember. Ah well, ever onwards.

Finished "Lost and Found" while I was away on vacation and really liked it. I also read "Peony in Love" by Lisa See while I was away. I didn't like it as much as her earlier works, but still was fascinated by the details of Chinese history and culture.

I'm currenttly reading "Hostile Witness" and think I'm going to like it.

Yes, he can write. Pity he's such an expletive deleted. Just goes to show.

I've started a freebie from Amazon, "Ridiculous", a Regency about a girl who takes the place of her deceased miser of a (male) cousin. Sounds like the same old story, but it's actually quite funny and a bit out of the usual way. And it was free.

Re: Lost and Found:

a contemporary tale of grief featuring Rocky Pelligrino, a woman reeling from her husband's death. After her husband dies of a heart attack, Rocky leaves behind her career as a psychologist in the Berkshire Mountains and moves to Peak's Island, Maine, taking a job as an Animal Control Warden. Her first catch is a black Lab with an arrow lodged in his shoulder. She takes him in, searches for his owner and tries to solve the mystery behind the arrow's origin.

I'm about halfway through and I like it.

Not familiar with Jacqueline Sheehan, what is the genre.

I've been going nuts trying to identify a book I bought and read a while back. It was about the 3rd in a series, set in mid 18th century, and I remember thinking how good it was and how I ought to get the others in the series. Can I remember anything significant about it, like the title or the author? Can I heck as like. I've tried the historical fiction forums on Goodreads and nobody can identify it from the meagre clues I can offer. It looks as if I shall have to re-read a large portion of my 3,000 e-books to find it. Good job I've reduced my Kindle tbr shelf a lot recently.

Think not. Do.

I'm about halfway through a freebie I downloaded to my Fire, called "The Dog Walker" by Corwyn Alvarez. For free, it's not bad.

I have started the biography of Brummell, it's an enormous fat book but very interesting. I always thought it was nearly impossible to be upwardly mobile in the late 18th century, but his famly managed it. He was the first celebrity, famous for being famous. And I've still only got as far as his teens.

Think not. Do.

It's not that the group wouldn't want a spiritual book specifically, but our discussions are broader ranging - the vicar's topic this last meeting was the films "Jean de Florette" and "Manon des Sources". And though it's under the auspices of the vicar, there are people of other faiths and none. What brings us together, apart from being buttonholed by Roland in the first place, is an interest in things beyond the material.

Think not. Do.

Doreen why wouldn't your church group want a spiritual book? If not I would highly recommend "the eight", By Katherine Neville

I just finished 'Such a Pretty Fat' by Jen Lancaster and will start 'Trail of the Spellmans' by Lisa Lutz tonight. If you want to laugh while reading, these are great.

The discussion group from church has decided to read books for the next meeting, so I've got to think of something - doesn't have to be religious, but I probably shouldn't present one of my usual romances. I've got a biography of Beau Brummell I've been meaning to read, maybe I should go for that one.

Think not. Do.

So...What are you reading right now?

I have not gotten back to any pleasure reading because I have so much necessary reading for a while. I miss the Musketeers and was looking forward to the next book club choice. But, Summer is coming and things will slow down. Right now I am reading Radical, The Wisdom of a Crowd, Rebel with a Cause and The Hole in the Gospel. All are very good. I am researching for a presentation in July.

My name is Jewell.
