Hello ladies,
What a busy day at the water park. My kids are pooped and I'm exhausted!! I know I've eaten more than I should, but I've also been careful. Only one scoop of ice cream and no cone, just in a bowl. No dessert at supper even though it sounded yummy. Carrots while my family ate candy out of the vending machine. Apple when cookies is what I really wanted etc. I hope I do good tomorrow!! :)

Erin, I'm so sorry I missed how excited you were about your training!! That is something to be so proud of and I'm glad you mentioned it again!! I went back and reread your posts...am I understanding this right? You completed a training class to become a instructor? Did you pass? What a great way to get a workout in!! Especially if you get paid!!! Is this at your local gym or what? I'm sorry I wasn't very supportive...totally went over my head.

Dawn, I'm sorry to hear about your son. I can't even imagine how hard it is. I do have two children and thank God every day for their health. The couple times they have had to go to the hospital due to sickness I'm a wreck!! I would rather go through anything than watch them suffer. As a mother you want to take their pain/suffering away and when we can't it's heart wrenching! I will pray that changing meds will help and that you and your hubby can come to some type of compromise. Taking care of yourself will make you a better caregiver. I know deep down you know this, but just being told again hopefully helps you not feel so guilty! You are a wonderful mother!!

I'm off to get rested up for a crazy day tomorrow. More water park and hopefully a trip to Ikea(my FAV store of all time)!!

ERIN!!!! I totally missed that Turbo Kick training thing! OMG! Are you going to be an instructor? I didnt even know they offered classes of Turbo stuff, jsut thought it was Chalenes video things. WOW! That is amazing! I am totally crossing my fingers for you! I am now following her on facebook and WOW! what an energizer bunny! Turbo Fire was actually released 2 days early...cant afford it right now, but my bday is in Sept....oh honey, here's what I want......lol! Thanks for the prayers for my little guy. I feel a little better after consulting with my pediatrician cousin. He pretty much said we probably should change meds. If the tics continue we have to decide if we want our son to struggle thru school and socially by not treating the adhd or treat the adhd and just deal with the tics (which could go away). I know I would rather treat the adhd, husband however thinks adhd is something he will 'grow out of' and would rather not have our little guy have tics....dilima. :)
Funny you mentioned the 20 min TJ...I loaned it to a friend in JANUARY!!!and havent got it back yet! I just told my husband last night that the next time he is heading to thier house to let me know so I can get it back! Great minds think alike! I could squeeze in 25 minutes of Jillian 30 day shread tho...not quite as entertaining as Chalene tho.

Steph- Healthy snacks at a water park = very good idea. I mean... who wants to eat stuff that's going to bloat you up while you're in a swimsuit?!?!? YIKES!!! No thanks. Have fun.

Dawn- Hugs, hugs, hugs and LOTS of love. I'm so sorry about what you are going through, that's horrible. Hopefully it is the meds, and it's just taking a while to get out of his system. I'll be keeping your son in my prayers. xoxo. Don't worry about being a downer- that's what we're here for- support. Okay- and here's a thought... how about doing the 20min Jam? 20 minutes is SO QUICK... you can take 20 minutes of your time to devote to yourself- you WILL feel better- and then you'll be better equipped to deal with everything else. If nothing else- just listening to Chalene realize that her talent isn't for singing... yeah- it'll bring a smile to your face. Sometimes you just need to sweat. Besides- I bet your punches and kicks will ROCK- it's a GREAT way to get out some frustration.

Okay, my confession- I was being a huge and total baby last time I posted. I was upset that no one said anything about my TurboKick training. I know, I know- it's dumb, it's just that it was the most amazing experience and 99.9% of the people I've talked to have either not cared, or acted like I was being ridiculous for being so excited. So I figured, hey, at least I could talk to you all- and I guess my post wasn't long enough or something, but I just felt like no one cared. That, on top of not loosing any weight (up, up and away for me...) and everyone else seeming to do so well... it just made me want to cry. Yeah- I was the kid who "didn't wan to play anyway", even though I did.
So... yeah. That's me. Sorry.

Hi girls,
Just checking in. I'll do my best to participate in #8, not sure how much I'll track.
Been a rough couple of weeks. My youngest son began to have 'tics' a couple weeks ago. He uncontrollably shakes his head numerous times a minute. I attribute it to his recent increase in ADHD meds, but the doctors say thats not it. He's been off them for a few days now and the tics are not going away. We are going to see a neurologist on Friday. I know not all of you have children, but the feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you hear 'neurologist' and your childs name in the same sentence is something I hope none of you ever have to experience. It's been a very long week, I haven't ran in 2 weeks, have no desire to and I have been eating straight crap (Taco Bell and PopTarts for breakfast anyone? Yesterday lunch was chinese and 5 guys for dinner, 2 scoop sundaes every night). I cry all day at work, so I can be strong for my family when I get home. I am drained and want so badly to get back on track but I feel we must get this behind us or figured out first. I know that working out would make me feel better physically, but mentally I would feel guilty because I'm not spending that time making sure my son is relaxed (he doesn't have them when I rub his neck, so of course, I can now add on call massuese to my resume).
Sorry to be the downer (I take THAT crown tonight Erin, lol!) but I just feel better getting this out.

Hello all!!
I measured and weighed this morning. Up a little, but that's ok. If we are still here in the morning I will weigh again...otherwise I'll just put 125 as my start weight.
Today I'm busy packing for our weekend at the water park. I'm trying to bring lots of healthy snacks so I'm not so tempted to eat rotten stuff. I hope it works :)
I'm not sure how much I'll be able to check in even though I'll have my laptop...I think I'll be pretty busy. Keep checking in though and posting...let's keep this board hopping!!
Oh, and challenge eight begins on Friday...we can start chatting on that board on Friday.

Good Morning all!!
So I weighed this morning even though I was scared to and I was 124.8!! I made my goal of 125 by July first!! I'm so excited!!!!! From here on out it's just extra. I might set a goal of 120 but I don't really know. I'm pretty happy where I'm at and I don't want to get obsessed with it...so we'll see. Ok, I'm off to work on laundry. I think I have four loads of blankets from all the extra company!

Sherry, you rock my world!! You are doing amazing...look at you and all that running and down to 144!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah for you!!!

I did run tonight too...only about two miles, but I burnt 300 cals. I can tell I didn't feed myself well today though. I was dizzy and shaking when I got off the treadmill. I don't usually do that...NO MORE scotcharoo's!!!

Ok, I'm off to finish the Bachelorette. See you tomorrow!!!

Steph! HAve fun treadmilling! =) LOVE watching something. It certainly makes the time go by faster.

Nicole keep up the walking video! Sounds interesting. What was the name of it? Darn DQ. I had a huge bowl of ice cream last night but I resisted the urge tonight when my husband called me up and told me he was really in the mood for a pepperidge farm choc cake!!! I actually was angry and told him NO NO NO don't bring that in this house! I'm working hard lol =) He mentioned all of these different things trying to get me to change my mind (he really had a sweet tooth) and I was proud of myself for sticking it out. Also, the idea of that huge bowl of heavenly hash kept replaying in my mind!

My pool turned green =( I haven't put chlorine in it since last week because of all of the rain we had this weekend. I've shocked it twice today and of course it rained again. Going to shock it again tomorrow and hopefully it will be back to normal. The first shock turned the pool back to blue but it was still cloudy. All of this rain needs to stop! Wednesday I am supposed to chaperone my daughter to The Great Escape and it's suppose to rain =( Ugh. Maybe the weather will change!!

Treadmilled today for an hour. Ran (lol wrote rain the first time around) a half hour of the hour!! It was hard!! I just haven't felt like doing it. Did I mention I weighed in at 144? Sorry to mention it if I did already!

It's been well, it's been a Monday. I did actually got a lot done, but didn't make the best choices eating wise. I made scotcheroo's and ate way to much!! I didn't eat lunch and only had a couple bites of potatoes for supper. I'm still pretty certain I went over in cals...those damn scotcheroo's!! :) I'm hungry and don't feel the best since I didn't feed my body the best. What should I expect eh?? I'm going to try and get on the treadmill though. I'd like to run and work up a good sweat...hopefully that will make me feel better!

It's back to just our family!! Yeah!! I'm looking forward to it just being us tomorrow and getting back to normal. What is normal anyway?? Haha. Next Thursday we're going to Minn for the weekend. I'm really looking forward to getting away! We are staying at a waterpark so swimsuit here I come...

Ok, it's time for me to put my youngest to bed, then off to the treadmill. Oh, I can watch Bachlorette while I run! That should help pass the miles...:)

Well, the weekend is over. I did let my eating slip a little. I got my sugar fill and I'm ready for another great week. I did exercise on Sat, but not today. Tomorrow the last of my two extra kids goes home. I hope to get back into some type of routine soon!

Hi ladies! Today I am exhausted and sore... and it's AWESOME! I had the most AMAZING experience yeterday at the TurboKick Instructor Training class... I have never sweat so much in my LIFE!!! Craziness. So.. now I'm just waiting for my test results... cross your fingers! AHHH!!!
K, that out of the way.

Nicole- Whoo hoo for working out AND walking with the hubby.

Sherri- Awesoe job with your 5 miles in 80minutes! You rock!!!

Dawn- TurboFire comes out on FRIDAY!!! I spent alot of money on TurboKick rounds, though... so I'm going to have to wait to invest, but the presenter that I worked with was in a few of the videos, and apparently it's amazing!

Steph- You can do it, you can do it! How much longer with the 4 kids? Yikes!

Can't wait for challenge 8. Didn't weigh or measure on Friday... TOM was around... and I didn't need the depression that weighing and measuring would bring before my class (which rocked by the way... did I mention that?) When are we starting 8? Tomorrow? I did my "report card" so I know what one of my goals is, but I've got to figure the other two out. YAY!

I do believe yesterday was the end of challenge seven. I can't believe it!! Who's ready for challenge eight?? I AM!! I know with it being summer everyone is so busy, but I would love to keep it up. I was thinking of starting Friday the 18th. I really like having Friday's as my weigh in day. I will be gone some during challenge 8, but I should have my computer so I will try to check in. Let's just keep chatting on this board till next week and I'll start a new board. I forgot to measure so I'll have to do that next week. Evening all,
Sorry I haven't said much the last day or so, but I'm really busy. I just have a second before the timer goes off and I need to take the cornbread out of the oven.
My day is going pretty good. I haven't done any structured exercise, but I haven't stopped moving all day. I'm tired and would just like some quiet time...time to myself. I might run to the grocery store tonight and just walk the aisles...haha.

Hey everyone! Another day down! Much better though lol =) Got my workout done (80 minutes=5 miles). I really didn't want to do it but it was done! I am soooo tired today! I also feel fat and bulky so I know what's coming!!!!!! yay =( lol

Nicole, thanks for the info. My aunt does say how it helps her focus also. She also tells me all of the time that I should probably take it because I'm all over the map lol I just blame it on my 4 kids fraying me to bits!

im tired today but its still a good day and yesterday i stayed in my cals.. i am so far today 2... also i did a jillian michaels dvd and went on a 2 mile walk with my hubby : )

evie- good to hear from you and hear your doing well.. keep up the great work

steph- 4 kids? ur nuts! thats a workout in its self... hope ur having time to have some you time

sherri- sorry about the day form hell hope today is improving.. so adderall... its pretty awesome honestly but i really like taking meds... it gives u energy and focus... it makes you wana do productive things and makes you not hungry at all but extremely thirsty for water and i HATE water but thats all i drink when i take it, im not gona lie and say its good for you bc its not, it makes your heart race. i guess i just dont mind. but thats me i know its frowned upon and im ok with that. right now i just take it every once and a while when im really dragging.

erin- dont be scared u can do it :)

I'm still exhausted. It's about 4:00, I have a short evening shift tonight... and I'm ready for bed. Blah. (Steph, I feel your pain). Oiy! How am I ever going to manage to make it through a day long Turbo Training if I can't even wake up for a "normal" day? AHHHH!!! (p.s. I'm scared. Just thought I'd mention it).

Sherri- Sorry your day went even more downhill... at least it's over now!

Okay... I'm going to shower (just finished a nice PiYo workout) and lay down for a bit before my shift tonight!

lol just gotta say... my day got a little bit worse. when i got on my treadmill i was rushing because of everything that happened in the morning. i ran 45 minutes straight today! go me!!!! it's a huge accomplishment that i am not sure i did when i was pregnant with max! that was when i was really at my thinnest between pregnancies. anyhow. i get off the treadmill and walk into my dining area where i put my rug cleaner. noah (my 1 year old) apparently dumped it sideways and there was nasty, dirty water on the floor. he also had pressed the button to my soapy water and that was also everywhere on the floor. what a nightmare. after i freaked about that, i straightened amaya's hair and brought her to preschool while i was half drenched, stinky, and nasty from working out, to school. what a day!!! it was all i could do to go on until 6 when nick got home. i just wanted to stop. my daughter, isabelle got home at 4 and was just so sad about school junk. ugh. calgon take me away.
i think it was nicole that brought up adderall as a weight loss method. my aunt has been diagnosed with adhd and has been prescribed adderall. her heart is a mess. her blood pressure is a mess. she continues to take it. she says it makes her think clearly. when her doctor told her she might have to take her off of it, my aunt freaked and unknowingly said something to the effect of, "I have to lose 5 more lb. while I can still get it". THAT BOTHERED ME! it's hurting her but the weightloss effects were important?? she even had to go to the ER cause of her heart rate. I'm not one for pills. I never take them even for cramps. Nick, in ost cases, will hand me some pain relief meds and I'm good with that but I never like taking pills for the sake of taking them. And to know that it might be scary to take pills worries me even further. I know. LOL where am I going with all of this. I guess I want to know what's all of this talk about adderall. i'm not judging, but i want to understand these pills more.

Hello all,
It is SO nice to see so much activity on the board. LOVE IT!!

Instead of two kids I have four right now. I can't even find time to go to the bathroom!! Trying to keep everyone busy and happy. To top it off I got a really bad headache this afternoon...the kind that makes me sick to my stomach. Yuck. I took some meds and I'm feeling slightly better. Tonight I still need to clean my BIL's house too. I know I'm not going to feel like doing my workout DVD so we'll see how it goes. I'm ready for bed now and I still have half my day left...haha. When the girls were swimming I did swim for about 1/2 hour. I know that was a bit of a workout.
Anyway, I'm not sure I can respond to everyone of you, but I did read it all. Here it goes... Sherri, I feel your pain. Hope your afternoon went better. Dawn, great job running. I'm sure with all your running you ARE getting faster. That's a huge improvement!! Wow, great job! Evie, can you pack a little cooler with a ice pack? I couldn't live without mine...I pack cold snacks in ours where ever I go. I have a cute one that looks like a purse. No one notices it that way. :) Erin, I'm so loving that you have internet!! Let me know if your library orders those Gilad DVD's for you. Nicole, don't make yourself sick with those pills. I don't think they are healthy for you!! Please be careful...
I'm really wanting to know why I still have the munchies day three of TOM?? It's driving me INSANE. I need some serious self discipline and I don't know why I keep giving in. I'm not eating sugar, but still eating more than I should. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I'm going to do better this very minute, oh yes, I am!!! You know, I haven't drank water today like I should. I'm going to go drink a big glass and see if that helps my head too.
Hey , is anyone watching Losing it with Jillian? I can't help but cry.
I need to run and make supper. I'll try to check back tonight again!!

Whoa! Holy board activity! Awesome!

Steph- Thanks again for being my mom for the day! You rock! When you started making jewelry- did you take a class, or just go for it? I really want to make my own jewelry, but I'm not exactly sure where to start. Thanks for the library idea. LOL- I hope they do order things- they'll get sick of me soon!

Nicole- My opinion- pills don't work. They make you moodier, crankier, and you spend a lot of money on nothing. If you want to invest in somthing- I'd suggest a fiber supplement and a protein supplement. A protein smoothie is a great meal replacement and they fill you up. Same with the fiber. When I was actually using mine- that's when I started seeing progress. I've started using them again- so here's to it! OH! ANd the fiber will make you drink more water too! You have to have at LEAST a glass with each serving (just add it in gradually or... yikes!)

Dawn- Can't WAIT for TurboFire- I'm saving up for it now! Dawn... OMG- you have been running SO MUCH since Feb... it doesn't surpise me at all that you were able to do that. That's AWESOME!

Sherri- Whoo hoo! 40 min. You rock girl! I'm sorry about your morning... although I admit, it makes me laugh. I had a day like that the other day- not so funny when you're having it-much more amusing when it's over! (and it WILL be over soon... no worries).

Evie- Ah... retail and eating. It sucks. PBJ is always a good stand-by... and other things that don't need to be refrigerated. Do you have a microwave? That may help with something too...

K... speaking of evil retail... got to go to work (bleh).

Okayyyy I'm back :) I have a day off today so I have time to breathe :)

I've been trying to eat right while at work. It's hard because it's a 9 hour day and we don't have a fridge in our break room and the only options are food court foods! :( BUT I'm down weight!

So far I've lost 3 lbs since the start of this challenge... and considering I had gained 4 lbs on my vacation, I've lost those 4 and then some! So I'm kind of behind on my 2lb per week goal- only 3... which means in theory I'd have to lose 3 more by Sunday. Idk if that will happen since TOM is right around the corner! We'll seeee that's what goals are for right? :)

I want to go running today- I didn't have time to work out last night because I was so tired from work... and because I went over a friends house :)

I hope everyone is doing great!

sherri- what a day! hope its going better... i can totally relate with the hair straightening thing. my step daughter has beautiful curly hair and always wants me to straighten it. i wish i had curls like that!

dawn- i know what you mean nothing is a miracle pill, i guess i just need SOMETHING! i used to take hydroxycut back in the day when it had ephedra in it still and u could take 9 a day. i was like a jr in high school and let me tell you i got SKINNY. worked like a charm. it helped me drink more water which i hate doing. i had to stop taking it bc my heart would be beating out of my chest. but honestly it worked so well if they made it still id take it, im not gonna lie im in it to be skinny not healthy ( i kno i kno, bad me) i may start taking adderall... it make me drink soooo much water but its my hubbys and i dont know if hed be that happy if i used it for weight loss cuz he thinks im perfect blah blah blah!

what about a cleane or anything? i ALWAYS feel bloated, granted i eat salt like an addict but i feel like it more inside if you know what i mean... like i need to be flushed out!

haha just wanted to tell you all my morning so far! I spilled almost a whole box of cheerios on the floor. Clean it up. Pour some out for both the girls. They eat it and realize the milk is rotten. I dump that. Give them fresh milk and the rest of the cheerios. A few minutes later I set down to do my oldest daughter's hair and she dumps my whole cup of coffee on the rug. I had to pull out my steam cleaner and did a quick job over my carpets. All the while driving Nick to the bus stop, making lunch, getting clothes ready for the kids and all before 7:30 am has hit. I am on the treadmill now. Hope the rest of the day doesn't end up like this!! =)

Today is my 5 year old's last day of preschool. Graduation is on Friday, at the park! She wants me to straighten her hair lol (she has beautiful curls that everyone "wants")

Hey everyone! Just checking in real fast! I wanted to tell everyone that I ran 40 minutes on the treadmill straight through! I was soooooo happy! At first it was supposed to be 15, then 20, then 30 lol and next thing you know I am over my hour workout and still going! lol =) Soooo happy! LOL

Today was busy (just like yesterday lol) I mowed the lawn after working out, weeded some, cleaned up the house some, rode up to Albany and then back down to Catskill to grocery shop, got home, put away groceries, and then made dinner. Feeling beat. Nick has been studying so I haven't been able to bug him with help.

Dawn, I hear you on the Silly Bandz stuff. My daughter bought a 24 pack and has maybe a handful of the original ones? She doesn't seem to be completely crazed but she had to have some. And amazing job with the treadmilling! How good you must have felt after all of that!

Better go. Losing it is on in a few minutes and I have a killer headache! Hope everyone is doing well =)

Part 2 LOL!
Nicole-great job getting a JM workout in today! As for weight loss pills, there are no magic ones, believe me I’ve looked, and tried, just about everything out there. Alli, green tea, Exendrine, Metabolife (the super bad Ephedra bad for your heart kind!), all those ‘get rid of belly fat’ ones, colon blow….you name it. I do like Jillian Michaels Fat Burners. I don’t think they help with weight loss, but they do give me a boost of energy when I need it. I don’t take them all the time and haven’t taken them since I had weird chest pains recently (I hadn’t taken them in weeks before the pains). What I like is they gave me energy, but not the jitters. I did read tho that you could have jittery effects if you drank caffeine with them tho.

Sherri- WooHoo for 146! That is awesome! And a 10 minute mile is a dream to me! Way to go! I hope you guys are enjoying the start of summer. We are almost done with baseball and then I’ll have some free time again. Can’t wait!

Ok, I’m off to finish watching the College Softball World Series (Go UCLA!)

Keep TOM out of NY please! I think he is trying to bust in, but he's not welcome here! LOL!

Erin-that stuff is completely normal. I used to get severe cramps in my thighs, of all places, along with lower ab and back. I also get what I call 'period pimples'. They show up in the same spot each month. I take YAZ for BC and it has completely eliminated my periods. I still get the pms moodiness but no cramps or aches. Food cravings and the urge to maim something are also normal symptoms :). I;ve been following Chalene on facebook and am DYING to try Turbofire! Can't wait for it!

Steph-what kind of bracelets are you making? These 'silly bandz' are all the rage here right now. They are these rubber band like things that are shaped like animals or other objects. The kids trade them at school. The stores cant even keep them in stock. Good job keeping busy while TOM is visiting.

So, we went to Pittsburgh this weekend so I didn't get my normal runs in, but I had a really weird experience in the hotel gym. I haven't ran on a treadmill since February. So, I hop on and go to 3 mph, which was the speed I did in February. It seemed so slow so I went to 3.5, then 4, then 4.5 then 5!!!! WTH? I couldn't beleive I was running 5mph and I still didn't feel it was fast enough. I kind of freaked myself out, like no way was I able to do THAT speed.....so I stopped after a mile. It was almost like I didn't have faith in myself. Anyway, weird experience I'm still trying to figure out. Thoughts? It's like on Biggest Loser when they confront the contestants about 'why do you think you don't deserve this?'. It left me a little unsettled.

Evie-I hope you're doing well. Sorry I couldn't meet up with you this weekend. I'll get back this summer for sure and we'll meet up! :)

hey girls, its a sad rsiny stay in bed kinda day but im at work... i was up real late and slept real late but still managed to do a jillian michaels workout. if i have time after work were going to olive garden for dinner and maybe after ill get some bike time in. i really wana start taking some kind of pills for weight loss but im not sure what... i kno, i kno they are bad blah blah blah but its june and i need to be in a swim suit so i need to kick it up a notch.. if you guys have any suggestions i would appricate it lots.. talk to you guys later

Good Afternoon all!!

Erin, it is totally normal to feel the way your are during TOM. He is one mean old fart! I used to get such bad cramps I'd lie on the floor and moan. Being on birth control has help 100%. I still take a couple Midol per cycle, but nothing like it used to be. I also made myself a rice bag which I warm in the micro which I either put on my lower stomach if I feel crampy or on my back if my back is bothering me. That warm heat feels so nice and takes the pain away. Besides it's nice to curl up in my jammies with a book and my nice cozy rice bag. :) If you have any other questions ask away!!

Today is my second day of TOM and I'm still struggling with the munchies!!! :( I'm fixing to go work on some bracelets to keep my hands busy. That way I won't eat!!!

Here it is rainy and gloomy. I really wanted to run outside tonight but if it's raining I'll be down on the treadmill. Either way I AM getting a run in tonight!!

Oh, about Gilad. Erin, ask your library to order them. One of the library's where I lived a couple years ago would order any thing I wanted (no cost to me of course). Just thought I'd mention it. I used to order books on tape all the time. Also they might just order them from another library.

I'm off to make a pink bracelet!!

Hi all!

So... I didn't work out last night. I did end up watching the moving then going to bed. I convinced myself to workout today, but it took a lot, I still feel exhausted. I haven't been sleeping well- I can't remember the last time I've actually slept through the entire night. But honestly- I feel like I'm more tiered than I should be from that. Bleh. Wish I could figure out what's going on!

Okay, so... this is going to seem strange, but I have a couple TOM questions. My mom didn't like "talking about those things" when I was little (hello... early '20s or something?)- my Dad actually gave me the "TOM Talk", and by the time I finally got over my embarassment of the fact, my friends were too old to ask about stuff (hello... uncool... shouldn't you KNOW this stuff by now?). Add to that most of my friends were guys.. well, yeah... you get the picture.
So... does anyone else get majorly exhausted right around the time TOM is about to/does arrive? Lower back pains... normal? Ummm... I know I had more, but now that I'm actually typing them out (and feeling ridiculous about it as well), I can't remember! Oiy! Oh well, that'll get me started.

Steph- I looked up Gilad. You can buy DVDs online, but of course our library doesn't have them. Go figure. I hate Lynchburg.

I've got the day off today... so it's time to run some errands! Chat later!

Good Evening!!

Today we went to the Zoo! Lots of walking and lots of fun! I went with my friend and her four kids and my SIL with her oldest. The kids ran all over and I had to keep up...haha! I still didn't do the greatest eating today. TOM came yesterday and along with him the munchies! Sitting here right now I'm not hungry at all, but I want to snack soooo bad!! HELP!!
I did do a Gilad workout tonight and I also ran a mile. Not much, but better than sitting on my butt all night! :)

Today I'm exhausted. I got home from work about an hour ago... and I am ready for bed. I feel bad because I haven't worked out yet today (spent the morning before work with the bf since he left today for a week-long conference), but hey... one day off won't kill me, right? Oiy... perhaps it was that type of thinking that got me where I am now... backwards. *sigh* Oh well, we shall see... I may be able to muster up some energy. (Oh, TOM arrives tomorrow. Hmmm... that could be part of it)

Sherri- YAY for being back down!!! I wouldn't stress about missing a workout yesterday, sounds like you got one in! Good for you!

Steph- AWESOME!!! That's the dream- to turn to a run instead of food when you're frustrated. Sometimes I can... sometimes I'm not so good. I know I say it all the time, but you are so inspiring! Thanks!

Hello ladies,
It is a beautiful morning here in Iowa. I was able to get more work done around the back deck. I'm sooo close to being done...can't wait!! I just finished lunch and I think I might relax a bit...it is the weekend after all right? :)

Sherry, I'm so glad you love Gilad. Someone else loves him as much as I do!! :) Gilad rocks!!

I was going to take the weekend off from exercising but then last night I was frustrated so instead of turning to food I went for a 6 mile bike ride. I felt much better when I got back too!!

I think next week I'll run Tues and Thursday and do a workout DVD Mon, Wed and Fri. I'm really, really busy next week so I hope I can fit something in. Mon zoo, Tues pick up a friends child to babysit till the following Monday, Wed pick up my niece to babysit for a couple nights. Fri bring my niece home, Sat downtown festival...my list just keeps growing. It is supposed to be hot though so I think we'll be in the pool some...I'll just swim laps to get some exercise in.

Ok, I'm off to relax a bit before it gets busy again. Have a fab Sunday everyone!!

I weighed in and I'm back down to 146. Cool enough. Better than sticking to 147!! I have been running more this past week. I even did a 10 minute mile!! I was so psyched when I did that. My legs are just killing me though since I have started running. I think my old bones do not like it =( Just gotta stick with it.
So, about Gilad. That guy rocks! I have always worked out (since I was little- I just loved it lol) and I used to do his shows when he was on public tv when I was very young. When I was a senior in high school I did 4 episodes of Gilad 7 days a week (fast fwd'ing through the warm ups and cool downs cause we only had vcr lol) and I lost a super amount of weight. Anyone who knows me, knows my extreme love for Gilad lol My last tape I picked up was a step work out about 4 years ago. The guy kicks your butt! You feel like you get a good all over work out. Even his warm ups are hard lol I was just looking for the cardio, though. This time around, I have been steering clear of video work outs and working on the treadmill - well, with the exception of the circuit training dvd I pop into my laptop when I'm done with my treadmill.
I didn't get a work out in yesterday because it was free garbage day at the transfer station and so we got rid of old a/c's and dressers that were taking up space and rearranged the deck debris we took down from our above ground pool. It took all day and it was SO hot lol. I was fine. I love hot and oppressive weather. My husband wasn't though lol But he was a trooper. And it meant the world to me to get that straightened up!! I had dumbed a bunch of grass clippings, hostas that I pulled out last year lol and can you believe I actually am looking to use them around my deck!? LOL and to think I was busy trying to rid myself of them and now I am grabbing them to plant again. I was amazed at the heartiness of them growing back under deck debris in shade! I need that right where I am planting them!

Steph- I'll let you know what I find when I have some time to start looking for the DVDs and what-not. We have the worst library in the WORLD (okay, maybe not the world... but close.) I can NEVER find what I'm looking for... but I haven't looked for fitness DVDs yet... so my fingers are crossed! And... yes, you ate some carnival food, but I bet you had it figured into your calories... AND you were probably walking around all night! So... good for you for allowing yourself to enjoy some fun now and again.

Ladies- where are you??? Now I'm back... and no one is here... it makes me sad :( .

Good morning girls!! I was so busy yesterday I forgot to say that I did weigh in and I was the same 126.8. I'm not discouraged though. TOM comes tomorrow and I always gain (bloat) a couple days before.
So, last night was the Carnival. It was SOOOO much fun. I ate a walking taco, about two fried potato chips, part of a funnel cake and a little bit of cotton candy...today I weighed to see the damage and I was ................125.2! What the hell??? Now, that doesn't make a lick of sense. I'm sure I'll go back up, but it sure made my morning! Hahaha!
Today I don't have much planned. Make some bread, vacuum, go pick up my husband at the airport, clean and put away all our stuff from last night and then just relax!! If I have time I might post some pics from last night...the kids had SOOOO much fun!!

Erin, I just have a min, but I wanted to answer your question...yes I heart Gilad. I think he has a couple series out, but I record them on FIT TV so I don't actually have to DVD's. He does sell them on DVD though so you might be able to find them at the library. Anyway, one of his series is "Bodies in Motion with Gilad" and then "Total Body Sculpt with Gilad". He works the whole body with weights, cardio, stretching etc. I really understand how he explains stuff which makes it much easier for me. Let me find out if you find them...gotta run. Taking the kids to the carnival...I don't think I'll be able to stay away from the sugar tonight!! :)

Yes, I'm posting TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!! Yay for internet =)

Nicole- I agree... that would be a super reward. Hmmm... maybe I'll start a reward fund. Like a dollar every week I stay in my calorie range and stick to my fitness plan? Or something like that... it's a thought anyway! And yes, we can totally keep each other going- sometimes you just need someone to bitch to ;)

Steph- You are doing so well with your sugar challenge! That's amazing. You are inspiring! So... tell me abot these Gilad workouts. Are they cardio? Strengh? It seems like you like them... I'll have to check the library and see if they have any!

As for me... busy day today. It's 3:20 and all I want to do is take a nap! But I've accomplished a lot (well, not a LOT... but a few things that I've been putting off because they take SO MUCH TIME!), had time to do a couple quick workouts (does anyone use the SparkPeople workouts? I did the 20min dumbell and the 12-min pilates core today. Not bad for quick workouts... but I feel like I need to play the dumbell at least one more time to really get something accomplished... or actually, just switch between weights and use heavier weights on certain exercises), and now it's time to jump in the shower because I promised the BF I'd be ready at 4:30 for our date night to the city's Friday Night Cheers (and he's that random guy who is always early... so 4:30 really means like 4:15). So... just wanted to say hi real quick, let you know I haven't given up all hope.. and Happy Friday! Hope everone is well!

Hi girls!
Busy, busy day here on the prairie. I'm pooped and am so glad both kids are in bed and I can relax for a few minutes and catch my breath.
Eating wise I've done very well. Stayed away from the sugar even when it killed me. Not quite, but you know what I mean.

Evie, what girl wouldn't want to work in a shoe store??!! What fun!!!

Erin, you're back!!! Yeah!!!

Zombie, no wait I mean Nicole. :) Ugggg, a migraine? Those are horrible. I can't believe how many people I know that suffer with those. I'm sorry. I hope you get some rest and feel better tomorrow.

hey guys
im like a walking zombie today.. woke up with a migraine, took lots of meds, prescriptons and some not so prescription but im feeling better, the xanax is just getting the best of me rite now. i take it everyday but i took extra this am to kill the pain!

evie- flordia sounds fun and ur so awesome those 4 lbs will be gone in no time

erin- yay for internet :) and ya we have to keep going hey at least we have each other to bitch to and keep dragging ourselves along. i want a HRM 2 but i cant afford one, maybe it will be a reward down the line?

K. Just thought I'd share.

Steph- Thanks for the meal and snack ideas. I generally plan dinner every night, and go with the flow for lunch and breakfast. I'm pretty much in love with salads and protein smoothies. Hopefully now that I have the internet back I can get back on track... tracking.

Nicole- Okay... we can get back on track. Right? I mean... you are right. If we give up... that doesn't get us anywhere. Might as well keep trucking along.=) As for trackign my DVD workouts... it just depends on the kind of workout. If it's mostly cardio I find something in the cardio section that is close (kickboxing = TurboJam). For weights, I entered in the excersises, and spark "guesses". I want a HRM SOOOOO bad... then you can enter the exact calorie burn.

Speaking of which... I know the idea behind losing weight is more calories burned than taken in... but does anyone know how to "figure it out." Spark always tells me I "burn more than my calorie alotment" each week... but obviously I'm GAINING, not losing, so what gives? Anyone know?

Sherri- Great job on your 12 min mile!!! You can do it. WE can do this.

Evie- Glad you had fun in FL!!! I'm sure you'll get right back on track now that you're home =) Wish my weight would magically fall off like yours. Jealous ;)

So... I'm here... which I count as a plus. I'm not happy, I know I've gained around my middle quite a bit in the last month... and that is irritating. I was starting to get excited about feeling good about putting on a swimsuit for the first time in YEARS... but I think it will be another swimsuitless summer for me. Oh well... life goes on.

I start my first day of work today! Shoe store at the mall- nothing too exciting but hey, it's money right?

Steph, just think, those bites may have had a lot of calories but overall you didn't eat the whole thing... so that's a win in my book!

Well, of the 4 vacation lbs I put on, 3 of them magically fell off last night! WOO

I have to get ready for work but I'll talk to you all soon!

Good evening all!

I think I did pretty good today. I say "think" because I took the kids out and had a couple bites of pizza and hot dog. I'm sure just those few bites where high, high, high in calories. I've been doing good with sugar though. I really wanted a dove chocolate, but I didn't. Right now I'm eating fresh blueberries, but I think I'll be going to bed hungry. I did get up and run a 8.20 mile this morning. I wanted to go for a bike ride tonight, but my hubby is out of town so I couldn't leave the kids. All in all I feel pretty good about my day.

Evie, I missed you. Glad to see that you are home and had such a good time.

Nicole, I'm interested in what the other girls say. I don't usually put anything down when I do a workout DVD. I'm confused by those too...

I'm off to got read for a while. Tomorrow we have a play date at the park!! Yeah!!

So I totally failed at posting while I was in florida. I ate terrible but had the time of my life. I'm 4 lbs up, but with how much I ate... I'm not disappointed. I splurged and had a great time and while I was conscious to a degree in terms of what I ate, I had fun :) I even had fries and a shake.

The wedding was beautiful, I made friends with the bride (she was super nice to me even though we just met that weekend) It was pretty small less than 100 people... so that was nice because the bride and groom really got to spend time with all of the guests.

I am back on track today- I ran/walked 2 miles, have eaten very well :) brought out the george foreman again! So hopefully I'll drop those 4lbs asap!

I hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend!

Hey everyone!
Well, it looks like I am not the only one feeling bummed about how things are progressing... good thing we have each other to help out during these tough times. Stephanie is amazing with all of the info she posted! I am really going to consider writing my food plans out for the day that way it will be something that I could refer to when making my decisions for the day! Must work so much better than off the cuff! Such good advice!
I have been pushing forward with working out. One thing that totally psyched me out was I ran a 12 minute mile. Well, I walked and then ran. I had been working at a 10% incline since I started using my treadmill back in January. I could not obtain the 13 minute mile I had been pushing for. Today, I decided to lower for the first time since I started in January and I was stunned at how much easier it was to walk/run lol and then I accomplished the 12 minute mile!!! Not 13! Not 14! TWELVE!!! So, silly me not thinking to lower my incline all of this time. I'm trying as hard as I can to run at least a half hour out of the hour (by trying to break up my 10 minute blocks by running 5/walking 5) and managed to do it yesterday but could only pull out about 17 minutes today. I'll keep working at it. Not much more all of us ladies can do at this point but KEEP ON TRYING!!! =) I have ditched my Jillian Michaels for now. Going to concentrate soley on the treadmill for now. I know strength training is important but going to take a break for now!

hi girls

sorry i was mia all weekend...it was super lame... i did nothing.. like literally sit on my butt in the ac all weekend by myself... its my own fault bc im so nice that my hubby wanted his friend to come over for the weekend and i said sure bc i am a super nice wife but they play guitar so im like confined to my room it was kinda depressing. maybe next time ill tell him no bc he was there from sat am until sometime today which is just too long for me. so i ate like crap bc i wasnt writing it down and i was bored so i was munching, back on track tomorrow for sure tho! erin you are certianly not alone ive about lost hope as well but that wont get us anywhere either so what choice do we have? hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Good Afternoon ladies!!
Erin, I'm so sorry you're discouraged!!! I can so empathize with you. Don't feel like you're alone...you are not!
I totally have to meal plan or else I eat random things that aren't healthy. Here are some things I do to keep losing weight and to get healthy.

1. I always have lots of fruit and veggies handy. When I HAVE to eat I try to grab one.

2. I find recipes I like then put them in my recipe book and write all the cals beside each ingredient. I keep this special book handy at all times. I'm always adding more recipes too to change it up. I LOVE sparkrecipes.com!!!

3. Try to double recipes and then freeze half of it. Soup, meatballs, roast, goulash, etc.

4. Some of my fav snacks... Almonds (higher cal but VERY filling), blueberries, rice cake snacks, apples, trail mix, applesauce, cheese (made with 2% milk), and I drink tons of water.

5. Writing down everything I eat. I struggle with this, but it really does make a HUGE difference. I may think I haven't eaten too much, but when I go and check out my little book I notice how FAST it adds up.

6. I always try to have spaghetti sauce on hand...I use it on so much. Bake chicken, spoon on some sauce then a slice of mozz cheese. Add to whole grain noodles for spaghetti, use in in goulash. I think I always have an open jar in the fridge.

7. Grow my own herbs. Adds great taste without adding cals to any dish.

Here are a few of the recipes in my sparkrecipe book:

Pan Chicken Parmesan

Potatoes and Ham Au Gratin

Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

Reduced Fat Alfredo Sauce

Soothing Asian Lettuce Wraps (Unchained Recipe Contest)

I really hope this helps. Try writing a menu for one week. I was so overwhelmed when I started doing this, but it has truly gotten easier and is essential in my healthy eating habits!!

Breathing. Regrouping. Okay... at least for now, perhaps some ideas?

I need some quick and healthy dinner options. A meal I can make ahead of time and freeze is probably the best way... something that I can have on hand... always.

It may sound crazy, but at least it will give me a sense of control. Any suggestions?

Today I'm irritated. Really. I measured and weighed today, and in the last month I've gained 3 pounds and 5.25". Right now... I'm feeling like giving up. I just can't see the silver lining anymore. I've tried, and I've tried, and I've tried. And right now I just feel done.

Happy Memorial Day to all of you!!

I've had a great day. I got up and ran a mile. I'm trying to run faster and faster till I can run under an 8 min mile. It gets my heart going and is some serious cardio. I think my body was used to me running 3 to 4 miles and it was getting used to it so I had to change it up a bit. Today I ran a mile in 8.20 min. Then we had a birthday party, I made some jewellery and now I'm sitting outside while the kids play in the water. I started my mini challenge today...no sugar (refined) till Friday. Oh my Gosh was it hard to say no to the cake and ice cream!!!! Then I had some cereal for supper and it was honey bunches of oats so it was a little sugary...I didn't feel too bad about it though since I'm really trying to cut the desserty type of food I eat.
Well, my neighbor just called, she wants to go for a 4 mile run...I'm off for now.

Run Run Run!!! Crazy that I was most excited about having 3 days off because it meant I KNEW I could run! LOL!

Great weekend so far, getting lots of stuff done around the house, planted some perrennials, mowed the lawn, had a nice bday breakfast for Patrick yesterday. I'm off for another run then to tackle the mound of laundry that has taken over our bedroom.

Hi girls! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far!
I ran 4 miles today! It's funny because I still feel like I HAVE to run for an hour because that was my time limit I gave myself for 3 miles. Now that my speed has increased, I can leg out 3.5 in 40 minutes and anything longer is just an added bonus. :) I did get a crazy cramp above my left ankle tho. I wasnt sure if it was my achilles tendon or a cramp...after icing it I decided it was a cramp. Not sure if I'll attempt another run tomorrow or maybe just walk.
We bought a bunch of perrennials today...now just to plant them! LOL!

Alright, off to make strawberry shortcake. Can't beleive my 'baby' Patrick is 15 tomorrow!

What an amazing Saturday afternoon!!! HOw is everyone today? Sherri, don't get discouraged!! You will have some ups and downs, but all it all you are making great strides to your overall goal!!

Last night was ladies night in the hood with lots of yummy food. I ate things I would normally not eat, but I didn't go hog wild...well I hope I didn't. Haha!! I got up this morning and ran a fast mile and I've been out working in the garden so I think I've worked most of it off already. I would also like to go for a bike ride this afternoon. I'm making better choices today, will NOT get sidetracked!!

Gotta run and wash dishes, put the clothes in the dryer and maybe have a little quiet time before O wakes up. Wishful thinking I'm sure!! :)

Hey! Checking in after what seems like an eternity. I had my aunt over until Monday and then it just seemed like one thing after another and I just never had a moment to sit and write. I weighed in, I think the day before yesterday, and gained a pound and omg I saw red. I have been busting my hump trying to lose and it just felt really defeating to see that. I thought FOR SURE that I had dropped considering how hard I have been working out. It almost made me feel like giving up but I talked myself out of it. Not like I like the way I feel at this weight now. What's giving up going to do?
I'm on track with my goals so far this week and hoping things look up soon! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoys their holiday weekend!!

Weigh in day!!! I weigh the same...at least I didn't gain. I'm going to try to run for 10 min every morning this weekend and see if that helps. I have a Bingo party tonight with the neighborhood ladies and lots of yummy food. Ahhhhh!! I'm not going to deprive myself, but I'm going to do my darnest to make wise choices!

Hi Ladies! Happy Friday!

Nicole- Hope your dinner date went well (Healthy-eating-wise). It's hard when you eat out, but I know you can do it!!!

Steph- Your sugar thing sounds intense! You can do it! I think I'll start with something "smaller". I know I e-mailed you about it, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. I'm going to give up the word "fat". Yup, that ugly "F" word is OUT of my vocabulary. As silly as it sounds, I really think that word and it's usage can seriously correspond to my mood, energy, and believe it or not- weigh ins. So... I'm going to start with the mini-challenge (hey... eliminating a word may be hard!) and go from there.

As for me, had to work last night... but my hours were cut. grrr... I mean, it's not like I have to pay bills or anything. I was getting about 20 hours a week, give or take some... but last week... 8?!?!? I mean... come ON!!! Oiy. Oh well. I've got that TurboKick training coming up in June... I'll just focus on getting ready for that, and who knows... maybe I'll be good at it and actually be able to teach... who knows.

Okie dokie- back to laundry and all the other crazy things I have to do when I'm at the BF's G'ma's house!

Good Evening ladies,

I did good today eating wise so my weigh in tomorrow better show me some love!!! :) I had a piece of oreo pie, but I had about 250-300 "extra" cals and I don't think it would be over that...I hope. See the sugar is going to be a hard one for me!! I'm thinking of giving up sugar Monday through Friday and then treating myself on the weekend...my goal would be to do that for two weeks. I really don't know if I can do it without some major support. I LOVE sugar. Oh and Nicole, I don't plan on giving up food like bread that have sugar in them. More like refined sugar...pop, candy, chocolate, ice cream, oreo pie (damn), desserts etc.

So my baby graduated from Kindergarten today. Boohoo!!! She is getting so big...I'm getting so OLD!! Whaaaaaaaa!!!

I guess I should go and get some rest. I need to leave the house by 8:30 tomorrow and then I'd like to spend the afternoon in the garden working on getting the rock spread out. I just need to get it all done already!! :)

Evie- Have fun in FL! I just read something about vacations... "concious indulgence" is what it said. So true, right? Go ahead and indulge, but be concious about it. As for swimsuits... being big on top sucks! Seriously... I've never found one that fit that didn't cost an arm and two legs. However, I do have one from VS that isn't so bad.. howver, it's super boobalicious... so I don't even love, love, love it! Sorry I can't be more help. Let me know if you find anything!!!

Steph- I'm glad you got some time in your crazy schedule to see old friends. That's the best!

Dawn- Chinese chicken salad? That sounds AMAZING?!?!? (did it help with the Chinese cravings? If so... I totally need that recipe!)

Nicole, you crack me up! I'm sure you could live without sugar for an hour...you're stronger than you think!!

Dawn, I want to give up "refined" sugars so no candy, candy bars, ice cream, desserts, etc. I'm still eating fruit and bread (my homemade bread has a small amount sugar) etc. Going to join me?

I just got back from a nine mile bike ride. Feeling great!! Eating some blueberries and then I'm off to take a shower. Today was my daughter's last day of school so she's "celebrating" by staying up late and eating a bowl of ice cream while watching a movie. She thinks she's big stuff!!

Hi girls!
Today was a MUCH better day! I got to leave work at 1pm and surprised the boys by picking them both up at school. It was 98 today and I thought they would appreciate a nice air conditioned car more than a hot, stinky bus! I was right!
I made enchiladas for a neighbor that recently had a baby. A bunch of us take turns doing dinner for 2 weeks. I also had a recipe for a Chinese chicken salad and since it was so hot, I made that for us!

Evie-have a blast in Florida! Kohl’s had some long torso swimsuits last week when I was there. I’m sure you’ll rock whatever you wear!

Steph-glad you had fun with your friend. I’m considering the sugar thing with you. I don’t really eat much sugar….can we have Splenda?

Nicole-looky you Miss checking in all the time!!! Love it! And screw that gas bag with her stupid comments. People are just idiots. I have a skin condition on my arms (I forget the technical term, the layman term is ‘permanent gooseflesh’-always looks like I’m cold or sunburned) and people always come up to me and say OMG! You are so sunburned or are you cold?! I’m like, um no that’s just the way my skin is. Then I throw in a smart ass comment like ‘God gave me a great head of hair and jacked up skin on my arms but I work it!’ LMAO!

Good morning ladies. I can say that for the next 20 minutes. :) I had a great visit with my friend and as an extra bonus her parents were there!! It was so nice to see old friends!

I think I did pretty good eating wise. I packed snacks and was very consious with what I ate...still, resturant food has so many hidden cals. I'm back to writing everything down today so I'm back on track!

I've had a very busy morning. Making bread, cleaning my BIL's house, laundry (I'm on my 4th load, I have three more to go), I need to wash my kitchen floor and put stuff away from yesterday. I'm really hungry today, but I'm making myself some coffee and then I'm going to work on keeping myself distracted for about another hour. Then Ill eat lunch.

Dawn, I'd be stressed too!! A broken knee? That's crazy. Now I want Chinese too!! But I'll make a better choice like you did. Awwww, poor boy. English was not my fav either.

Erin, tomorrow is Thursday!! Are you still getting internet tomorrow? I sure hope so!

Nicole, I love hearing from you more often!! I think I might go for a bike ride this evening. I haven't gone in a few days and I'm really missing it.

Evie, I'm watching Biggest Loser right now. Being gone last night I missed it and Dancing. Thank God for Tivo!! Good luck running in the morning 6am is early, but you can do it!! Ok, so swim suits...ahhhhh, I have the worst time finding ones that fit as well. I have no boobs and a bigger butt. I do like Target though, they're not to expensive and you can buy seperate sizes. I can't order online cuz I NEED to try them on. I don't think that was really any help, but I really hope you find something. A week in FL sounds AMAZING!!!

Ok, I'm off. Owen is sleeping and I have so much to do before he wakes up and wants lunch and to go outside and play.

Today was good, I ate well and ran/walked 2 miles! My friend wants me to run with her at 6am tomorrow so we'll see. Who watched the biggest loser finale? I can't believeeeeee Michael lost literally 50% of himself.

Nicole- ignore stupid people. seriously. I can't even count how many times random people have made rude comments and they always hurt :( I'm sorry you had to deal with that but I'm glad your day was better today :)

Erin- I LOVE LOVE LOVE your novels :) I might go again tomorrow if I have time. I kind of want to invest in some skates but I think I'll wait until I've gone a few more times.

Sooooooooo I'm leaving for Florida on Thursday- don't worry I'm taking my computer :) Going for a wedding and 5 days of lounging by a pool :) BUT I tried my bathing suits on... and I figured I would have to get new bottoms, well the tops no longer fit. baggy baggy gross. But unfortunately I can't find any tops that fit. I have a long torso so one pieces don't work for me. Since my stomach is gross I usually do tankinis- I found one bikini top that kind of fit so I figured I might have to suck it up and show my stomach and just lay down still so no one notices me :P butttt it's $79! for just the top! UGH any advice on big boob swimsuits would be fantastic!

hi girls! im having a much better day (so far)... i got to sleep in and do somethings aroung the house and garden, i rode the bike for 55 mins last night and i hope to jillians shred tonight. steph and erin thanks for the love you both made me laugh! u know ur loved when people wana punch someone for you! thanks girls :)

steph- thats a ton of cals way to go! i dont watch bachelorette so i cant help you but i do love lots of other tv thats the biggest down side to summer no new shows!

S T R E S S E D!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have one kid flunking English and the other kid broke a kids knee on a trampoline (not really his fault as they were jsut being 'boys' but it still sucks!). I wanted chinese food for lunch but had a Lean Cuisuine pizza and salad. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Nicole!!! I'm soooooo sorry! Where is that lady and I'll give her a punch in the nose for you!! I must say though I do love hearing from you THREE times in day!! Yeah for you!!! Ok, seriously I hope there is no bridge on your way home from work!!

Evie, go get some food crazy girly!! I think you've done really well with exercise today, take a break and relax. I just finished 40 minutes on the treadmill...600 cals baby. BUT I did have one tiny chocolate and some rhubarb crisp. STill if I wouldn't have exercised I would only have gone over by maybe 200 cals today. Even though I had more cals early in the day I was able to stay within range for supper so it's all good. Oh, and I took the rest of the rhubarb to my neighbors...it was wicked good, had to get it out of the house!

Who's watching the Bachelorette? I'm sitting here watching and still not sure what to think. Ahhhh, that stupid chocolate is not sitting well. I guess I shouldn't have ate it eh?? Anyway, back to Ali...do you all like her? I have mixed feelings totally. I guess I'll keep watching and see what happens. I did watch the Bachelor and liked her for the most part.

Ok, enough of that. Tomorrow I have a crazy busy day but I think I'll have time to check in in the morning. I'm driving an hour and a half away to see my best friend. We grew up together, but I moved to the States and she lives in Ontario. She's coming here for her sister in laws wedding. We won't have much time, but hey a little is better than nothing! I'm excited to see her!!

Alright, I'm off to get a drink of water and get ready for bed. I don't have to get up early, but my bed is calling! :) Night all!!

Okay, before I even say anything of relevance, let me just tell you all how nice it was to have to scroll down through several novel sized posts- okay reading them now!

Dawn- i told you via text but WOW 1300 calories. wowww you're going to kill this challenge if you keep that up!

Steph- :) it makes me feel really good to know that I'm inspiring you because there are times when I am so tired but I think "well steph managed to do x, y, and z today so I should be able to workout!" you do so much and you're soooo close to your goal!
I want a tent- I've never gone camping! omg rhubarb crisp- shareeee the recipe!

Nicole- glad to hear you had a great weekend :) i can total relate to sneaking online just don't get caught!

Erin- I scroll up, see a huge novel and KNOW it is you :) LOVE IT. I had a lot more weight (still do) than you to eliminate so it's a lot harder!! YAY for the training- YOU CAN DO IT

Today was pretty productive for me. I had a training session in the morning- did arms with my trainer and i can already feel them getting sore. Then I decided to go ice skating with a friend for a couple of hours- I wore my HRM and burned 600 calories! yay! I was supposed to go to a spin class tonight but I'm so beat it's not happening.

I haven't eaten much yet and nothing really sounds good (maybe I'm getting sick?) I was thinking Friday's sizzling chicken and cheese (it's only 500 calories?!?!)

I was driving home from the gym today with the windows down and smelled summer. Ahhhh I love this time of the year. BTW my birthday is one month from today!!! mark your calendars.

look at me posting 2 times in one day :)
so my monday is ok, i had a good breakfast and lunch and have over 700 cals left for dinner. duno what i am going to make yet, im thinking left over chicken breast and makin my hubby eat a corn dog or what ever he can find. lol eat my food or fend for your self.

erin- that sounds like fun and you will be awesome at it!! , unfortunalty we dont have anything started yet, we know its going to be long and expensive so we are waiting until a better time but weve been recording everthing she does wrong now just incase - but thanx for the well wishes i need all the help i can get. i feel huge as well ive been staying away from the scale bc i will be sad! we can do it erin :)emoticon

Good afternoon ladies!!
How is your Monday going? I've done "ok" with eating. I made some rhubarb crisp and I just can't say NO. So, I've had two servings today already, but I'm not going to have anymore unless I have enough calories to after supper. I guess I could go run and burn some cals so I wouldn't have to worry about it eh? I'm at 600 cals already and I haven't even had lunch yet. Oh well, I'm eating later so I shouldn't need a mid afternoon snack and that will save me some cals for supper. :)
Nicole, I hope it all works out with your step daughter. That's so sad when a parent doesn't seem to care. Eating healthy is soooo important!!
Erin, I hope the sun comes your way. I can hardly deal when the sun hides for more than a few days at a time.

Evie- Great goals! As for finding our friends who have disappeared, I find spark goodies, posts on walls, and sparkmail are good ways to get them to come around! Granted, summer is crazy and they could be gone for a while, but we can always try!!! GREAT JOB with your run! That's super awesome!!! I can't belive you've eliminated so much weight. I wish I were as cool as you!!! I don't know where I started (i'm going to check after I post), but I think I've maybe got rid of a whole freaking pound. Yeah... I'm not so good at this game.

Dawn- You are a triathlete SUPERSTAR!!! Wow girl, that's awesome. Now my 50 minutes of Turbo seems lame-o. Umm.. and super-mom?!?! That's so great that your 11 yr-old is taking some inititive! Yay!

Steph- Yay for camping! That sounds like so much fun. I think your backyard camping is a good idea. I agree, safe is better then sorry when you're dealing with little ones! The last thing you want to have to do is pack up and move out in the middle of the night while a tantrum is happening! Yuck!

Nicole- I'm sorry your stepdaughter's mother is so unhelpful! Yuck. It sounds like you have a custody hearing soon... when in that. I hope it works out for the best for you all!

As for me... this weekend was a rough one. Went to a work banquet with the BF for his participation in his work's bowling league. It was okay, but the food was all kinds of "good old southern food." Yikes! Step away from the fried chicken and butter drenched veggies pretending to be healthy!
Other than that, I'm renewing my will to be healthy and fitter once again. I'm about 99% sure I'm going to sign up for a Turbo Instructor Class in June, but I don't want to be the "Fat kid" there who can't give directions and Turbo at the same time. On top of that, I'm realizing just how LITTLE I've accomplished this year. I don't mean to be a downer, but it's frustrating. Especially since sometimes I feel like everything in so out of control. Needless to say, I'm working hard to really think about my time and realize I have control, even when I don't think I do. Hey, if Dawn can workout and burn that many calories in her crazy schedule, than I can too! OH! ANd I'm super excited about having internet again at the end of the week so I can track my calories again. I feel so HUGE right now, even though I only gained a couple of inches since the last challenge, it feels like defeat. Bleh.

Yuck! Sorry this note was so "bleh," blame it on the rain! I haven't seen the sun for DAYS and I'm majorly solar-powered; so no sun, along with realizing how poorly I've done with my weight-loss attempt this year has got me down.
Oh well... I'm going to check out that instructor certification program! Chalene always makes me feel better (as do you all!!!)

hi all! hope every one had a great weekend... mine was ok i ate 2 much on sat but did better on sunday. i went to my class yesterday, i really like going i wish there were more times i could go but most of them are when im at work.

dawn- i LOVE LOVE LOVE how you got your kid to be healthy. i wish i could motivate my stepdaugter. shes is only 7 and weight 110 lbs. drs have told her mom like a million times she has to eat health but her mom is worst mother ever and just feeds her whatever she wants which is mcdonalds. we make her eat healthy but when you only have her on the weekends it really doesnt make a difference bc she eats crap 5 other days. not that there is anything good about an unhealthy child but im hoping it will help us in court when we are able to fight for custody bc we can what a terrible mother she is (sorry im ranting) anywhoo thats awesome and i wish i could get thru to her like that but its like talk to a wall. i just dont want her to have a hard time as she gets older bc its not gona get any easier!

evie- 30lbs... you go girl and awesome goals.. i hope to be able to run one day!

erin- good to hear from you and at least with all the crazyness you got stuff organized! i love the feeling of being organized, then you feel like you can do anything.

Dawn, you GO MOM!!! I think that is a great lesson for all of us to teach our kids (well those of us with kids anyway...heehee). When they really understand they feel like they have the power to make the right choices.
Evie, I wish more people would post on here too. I love when the board is hopping!! I know I tell you this all the time, but my word!! You are such an inspiration!! 30 pounds since January?!?! That's amazing!! By the way, a 10:35 mile is nothing to be discouraged about. That is a great start!!!
So I've had a pretty good weekend. I've done great eating wise (thanks Dawn for being my buddy this weekend) and even though I couldn't quite pound out running the whole six miles this morning I did run at least four and walk the other two. Still got some serious cadio in.
Tomorrow I'm keeping up with the counting cals and I need to run again. My 10K is coming up and I have to be ready for that! I would like to go for a bike ride too. I'd much rather ride my bike than run these days. I've already made a rhubarb crisp for breakfast and I need to make some rye bread for Rueben sandwiches...that will probably be Wed's supper.
Oh, I can't remember if I told you all this or not but I bought a tent! Yeah!! I'm so excited!! I loved camping as a kid and want to show my kids how much fun it can be. I bought it for $10 at a yard sale and I knew I was taking a chance, but I got it all up and it is in wonderful condition. I think my daughter and I will be camping out in the backyard till I know she can handle it and won't start crying for her bed or something like that. I'm 90% sure she'll love it, but still would rather be safe than sorry.

I had a long talk with my youngest about calorie consumption the other day-he wanted a king size kit kat, I said no, grabbed him the regular size one, he ran out of the store and when I walked out he was by the front door having a melt down. I took the kit kat out of the bag and told him it had 420 calories in it, he continued his tantrum and I threw the candy bar in the trashcan next to him and walked to the car!!! GO MOM! I then said if he would of ate the king size that was 840 calories! He thought he got to eat 5 or 6000 a day! WOW! We then added up everything he ate that day and he was well over 3500.....he's 11, 5'1 and weighs 150lbs! No wonder why. Well the last 2 days, he was taken it upon him self to exercise (treadmill AND weights!) and make very conscious good decisions about what he eats! I think the shock value of me throwing the candy out worked!

Anyways, off to shower, lunch and lounge the rest of the day....I need to do laundry but eh, it will wait. Afterall, it's clean, just not put away!

Hi friends!

Are you ready for my goals for this challenge?

1. 2lbs per week.
2. Increase running. By the end of these 3 weeks I want to be able to run 3 miles straight.
3. Refine my food choices.

I have been slacking lately (hello buffalo chicken dip) and while I am still losing weight (thank you cardio) Every time I get on the scale I think "wow if I hadn't eaten badly that number would be even lower!"

So hopefully I will be 6lbs less by the end of this challenge. That would put me at over a 30lb loss since the beginning of our first challenge in January.

I told Dawn earlier but I ran a mile yesterday (just one this time) and I got my time to 10:35. Slow as far as normal people go, but I was so excited to actually do it. I'm going to take an old friend and potential future roommate to the trail today for a run in a few minutes.

So I kind of wonder where everyone went... we had a lot of people posting regularly who have disappeared. IDK if there's any way we could reach them to see if they want to join in on this challenge?

On the Buffalo Chicken front- the dip I make is fat free... so I don't feel TERRIBLE when I eat it. I took the container to my cousins last night to let them dispose of it :)

Going to run now. Wish me luck!

Evie- buffalo chicken is evil... so good, yet so bad for you. Hmmmm... wonder if there is some kind of alternative, that's something I should check into!!

Steph- COUNT YOUR CALORIES!!! K. That's all. (If it doesn't sound super stalker and crazy you could send me your number via sparkmail and I could text that to you...)

Dawn- Jealous! I SO want to float in the warm sunshine- right now it's rainy and gross outside... bleh. YIKES!!! Bad food??? Scary... I'm glad you made your bad food "better." Oh... that's a good idea! Better "bad" food party... hmmm... and a recipe exchange... yeah, I like it! Yay to your son for his first HR!!! Whoo hoo!!!

Evie & Dawn- you know I had to post a novel... it's been FOREVER, and I had catching up to do =)

Nicole- LOL... you freaking kill me girl. Don't think that way! 9am... that means you have all day to make good choices! Oh, and chocolate is SO MUCH BETTER if you have one piece and enjoy it, trust me. So take one decadent piece, and walk away from the bag. You can do it (and since TOM is around, it's okay if you do it more than once in a day... just put them in your calorie tracker NOW... so you know how much room you've got left). Get it girl!

Okay... so, my goals for this time around:
1. Track “time blocks” every day.
2.“Warm-up” every day (singing).
3. Write down or track EVERYTHING eaten or drunk.

As most of you know I've been kind of "up and down" lately with craziness... so I've been trying to evaluate where the major stress is coming from. I've realized that my BIGGEST stress is tied into three big stressors... Time, Money, and Self-Acceptance. So... this time around I'm working with time- seeing where mine is going and what I can do make it better for me. So my goal #1 is going to be HUGE for me this time around... just thought I'd share :)
K... gotta run... Library time is short today!

hey girls!
dawn-im jelous ur weekend sounds amazing, maybe with out the running part lol. but hey then u will be guilt free at your party... have fun u deserve it :)

steph- im not to much help bc i have TOM here and my mom just came back with girdelli choclates from the factory in san fransisco i think... but anywhoo ill be bad and you run away from the kitchen girl!

so far i am under my cals but it is only 9pm so im sure i have time to screw up still. i shoud go to bed before i eat everything in sight!! i havent yet decided what im going to do tom.. need to get inspired. talk to u laters

p.s. right after i post this whats the ad on the screen? the wish bone salad ad... i know its salad but i love salad so i now seriously need salad like a fat kid needs cake
