Hi Betty - I hope that success and you are well acquainted by now - and would love to hear where you are on your journey.
In reflecting on this lately, I'll add something to it, it's not just that I'm on vacation, that is part of it, but it is who I am with. We went to Cedar Point Saturday night and met up with some friends who have been schedule challenged and not making it to CP as much as they used to. Almost instantly my friend and I had beers in our hand, I enjoy good beer, and will have definitely have some, but I don't normally get any at Cedar Point. Yet here I didn't even think about it!
I definately have that problem. I always think that because I am on vacation, whether it is at an amusement park, a family reunion, or a weekend in general that I can eat whatever I want. I always say "I will start my diet on Monday." Now I need to focus on making a lifestyle change where not only that I exercise (which I do almost everyday) but I also eat healthy everyday and watch my intake. Then I think the pounds may start to come off slowly again.
A friend of mine who is a coaster enthusiast (Chris) was overweight and this past Januray decided to do something about it. He started eating healthier and running - running his now a passion of his and he is up to the 10 mile plus for long runs.
I was talking with him and he said how he goes to amusement parks every weekend, and he would often hear friends and other people say 'Hey its a vacation, go ahead and eat up'. Part of his new healthy lifestyle was realizing that hanging out amusement parks was making every day a vacation - and he had been eating/living that way.
I liked the way he captured that thought into a phrase - I can't eat like every day is a vacation!
