Anything new and exciting anyone has discovered in their homeparks? We've seen some extra love given on the Frontier Trail at Cedar Point, some buildings have new roofs, the Barnyard/Petting Zoo area has been refreshed, and they are opening a Wine and Craft Beer Bar in one of the existing buildings. I'm assuming price will keep this from being too tempting for me!
Kings Island is a good park, and we got to check out the new Coaster Banshee - if you like Inverted's you'll Love Banshee!!!!!!! Did a 5K with my kids yesterday, more walking than I would like but still a good time!!!!
I never did that swim with my sister last summer. She got scared by an exhausting day at the beach followed close-on by an internationally competitive swimming drowning in Abu Dhabi, so we're going to try again this year. Maybe that'll give me a chance to get to Kings Island. Mostly, though, I'm expecting to be cheap this summer, 'cause I blew a lot of money on a backpacking trip in Glacier last summer and then a Spanish immersion/ weaving/dying adventure in Mexico this winter.
Saving now for next year...

It was a very windy, and ended up being also very wet at Cedar Point yesterday. Most of the rides were down (Dragster, Magnum, Gemini, Raptor, Iron Dragon (it apparently valleyed), Maverick) a good portion of the day. We did get rides on Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Mean Streak (No Trims - and other than the little razors sting in the eyes and face from the rain - probably the best rides we ever had on that coaster), Wicked Twister, Mantis, and Millennium Force. They were painful, they were cold, but now they are done until May!
Hope everyone out there had a great closing day also at your respective parks (if they close for the winter season).
My favorite memory so far is taking my two granddaughters to Coastermania this summer and the younger one (9 years old) getting to go on Top Thrill Dragster five times in a row. She loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't remember anyone limping but I could've been in line right next to you. We rode all the big rides on Sunday except Maverick, the line was always longer than we wanted to wait. We got every thing else in though, Dragster, Millennium Force, Magnum x 3, Blue Streak x 2, Raptor, Wicked Twister, Gemini, heck even Disaster Transport.
I was at Cedar Point this past Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I was the girl that was limping around the park since the "screamster" with the trashcan on wheels ran over my foot Friday night. I still managed to have fun & cover the park several times & lose two pounds.
I can't believe there is only one weekend left for Cedar Point for 2011 season - time flies by so quickly and soon we will be waiting out a nearly 7 month break in enjoying our favorite local coasters.
