MaryAnne, I do pray it works out for you to get your parents closer to you. I know you have been looking for awhile. Surely something will work out soon. It will be good for you not to have to make that long drive especially when you are by yourself most of the time.

Sure hope you all can find the baby kittens and that they are alright.

Still don't know where the mommy cat moved the babies but have folks in the neighborhood keeping an eye out. This is when I wish we weren't all on 2 acre wooded lots - she could be anywhere.

MaryAlice, I always use to hate the schedule in retail but I'm with you the later shift - could get things down in the morning and just hit the bed when you get home.

Alice, what a wonderful feeling that must be to know that you've saved another little furry friend. Awesome!!

Visited another place for my folks today. Beautiful place with a lot of positives but they would be in two separate buildings which would be impossible for dad. I will visit another new one tomorrow and have to set up two revisits. There is one I'm really learning towards but want to ask some more questions and do another "walk through". This one is only 20 minutes from my house. What a God send that would be!!! Sure would beat that 12 hours drive!!!

I agree, I don't know how you keep up with everything MaryAlice with your work schedule. I guess you get use to it!!

Alice, Some people don't have hearts then others overflow with love like yours does. Hope the little pups are in loving home by now. I know you miss Garfield but it is nice that you can keep up with his progress. Sounds like THEHERDLADY and her DH are enjoying him!

Today was cleaning and washing for me and now I'm tired!!!! Tomorrow is a busy day also.

Good evening everyone!

Good morning, DH is glad I'm working noon till 9 for the next 3 days since that means I won't be driving as late. He can't understand why I would prefer to work 2 to 11. It is because when I get home I'm so worn out and my feet hurt so I don't want to do anything. I feel like I have more day if I go in later. And as for what I would really like, one or the other all the time. this week is noon to nine, last week was every other day noon to nine and 2 to 11 on the other days the week before that was 2 to 11. Next week is 2 to 11.

Alice it's always nice to know an animal has been delivered to a good home, let's hope Garfield loves it where he is.

Sandi I'm with you, naps are heaven sent, I often go up to my room for a 5 minute "kip" does wonders!!

Starr I always get a shopping trolley no matter if I'm only getting one or two items, it gives me support for my back plus it's a place to stick my handbag instead of it being on my shoulder all the time.

Odd sort of day here today, the weather is warm but the skies are cloudy and dull, not sure what it's going to do.

Evening, Everybody ~ ~

Hope it has been a great weekend for everybody. Been kinda empty around here this weekend. We delivered little Garfield to the DH of THEHERDLADY yesterday morning for his trip home to CO. They made the trip just great and arrived there a little after 9 my time. Nina immediately called me to let me know they had him settled in and gave me a blow by blow of what he was doing. They love him and have taken him into their hearts. I do miss him so and want to hold and cuddle him. But know that can not be done and know that he has been delivered into some very wonderful loving people. Nina has started The Garfield Journals on her Spark Page and has some pictures. I may miss him, but will always know where he is, what he is doing, and will get to watch him grow.

Although this has been a painful couple of days, I do not regret any of this experience. Knowing the condition he was in when we found him and where he is today gives me great comfort. Will I do this again???? You betcha. If I every find another one in his condition, I will not hesitate to swoop him up and get him well. What happens after that will be addressed when the time arises. All these little critters need to be taken care of and protected. That is my duty.

We walked out on our porch one Sunday morning and found 3 little puppies eating out of the cat bowl out front. Someone had to have brought them to our door and dropped them off. They were so small. We kept them overnight and then took them to the humane society. That was a very difficult thing to do, but we already had a houseful of animals. Why oh why do people do things like that???? I just don't understand - do these people not have hearts??? Maybe not.

I, too, am so disgusted with people that don't take care of their animals. Mary Anne, I just pray you are able to rescue the little ones and that they will be fine. I'm sure Daisy wouldn't like any company in your house!

Kay, glad your two are doing better.

I copied off the Week 1 of the Challenge and hope I can stick with it. I know what you mean about getting off a program, Kay, and not being able to get back on.

Today, Zoey and I had a little nap after church and lunch. She's always willing to do that!

Hope everyone has a good week.

Well, mommy cat moved her little trio last night and I'm not sure where. Once I had pulled all those plants out, that left the window well exposed so guess she didn't feel safe any more. My son helped me look today but no luck. I've got some of the neighbors trying to keep an eye out for her. I'm so worried about those little ones with the nights getting chilly and the foxes and raccoons. I'm putting food in the window well for her and hope she comes back to eat.

Kay, glad to hear that Susie and Jake are doing better. Our little furry friends are very important to us.

Starr, for some reason when I'm having a bad day it seems to help me clear my head if I go for a walk.

Jules, bummer that things aren't getting better. Hope you have a better day.

Mary Anne, and Mary Alice, when I read these stories, I just wonder how ignorant and/or uncaring people can be? They get animals or let them live in their house, as in the case of the cats & dogs, but don't put in time, effort, or money, into the poor things, and then, they get pregnant and suddenly, they don't want them. They don't have time or money for a litter of puppies or kittens. Disgusting!! They should have taken care of business in the first place. Even around here, as rural as it is, there are low cost events occasionally, for neutering of both cats & dogs.

Know what you mean, Starr, I have days like that myself! Glad you got some walks in today!!

My two seem to be finally better; Jake seems to be better from his pulled muscle or whatever it was; he's back to leaping upstairs, and while Susie is still wheezing a bit, the antihistamines keep it at bay. Hopefully, frost will take care of it.

Jules, I was looking at that challenge too, I should try it too. I took a break from the Spark Solution which was a big mistake, because now I can't get motivated to get back on it.

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE.

TODAY I DID MY WEEKLY GROCERY SHOPPING. GOT IN 1 HOUR & 10 MINUTES OF WALKING. I TEND TO WALK A LOT FASTER BEHIND A SHOPPING CART, BECAUSE IT DOES A BIT OF SUPPORTING MY BAD ANKLE & KNEE. ONCE I GOT HOME, IT TOOK ME ANOTHER 30 MINUTES OF UNLOADING, CARRYING INTO THE HOUSE, WALKING STUFF OUT TO THE GARAGE TO PUT INTO THE FREEZER, AND STUFFING ALL THE YUMMY FRUITS& VEGGIES INTO THE FRIDGE. THERE, STOCKED UP FOR THE WEEK. I'M ALWAYS GLAD TO GET THAT HUGE CHORE DONE, AS I DO NOT LIKE SHOPPING!!!!!

YESTERDAY I HAD A BLAH DAY. I WAS NOT SICK, PERSE. I JUST DID NOT FEEL GOOD MENTALLY, WAS VERY SLUGGISH, TIRED, SLEEPY, WAS OF A MIND SET THAT I DID NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING OR EVEN CARED WHAT HAPPENED. I HATE THOSE KINDS OF DAYS. I AM HAPPY TO SAY THAT THEY DO NOT COME ALONG BUT MAYBE ONCE A MONTH. I WAS VERY HAPPY WHEN I WOKE UP THIS MORNING IN A BIT OF A BETTER MOOD~BOTH MENTALLY & PHYSICALLY. *****I KNOW THAT YOU ALL HAVE HAD THESE KIND OF DAYS. WHO HASN'T, RIGHT? WELL ALL OF MY ADULT LIFE I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY VARIOUS FOLKS THAT WHEN YOU FEEL, SUCH AS I DESCRIBED ABOVE, THAT IF YOU JUST FORCE YOURSELF TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND DO SOMETHING~ANYTHING~THAT YOU WILL FEEL BETTER. WELL, I HAVE TRIED THAT ON MANY OCCASIONS AND HAVE FOUND THAT IT DOES NOT WORK ON ME. IF ANYTHING, IT MAKES ME FEEL WORSE!! NOW I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS THE NORMAL, BUT THAT IS HOW IT WORKS FOR ME.

TOMORROW I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY ORTHOPAEDIC DOCTOR ABOUT MY ANKLE BRACE AND THEN I'M COMING BACK HOME TO PAY OCTOBER'S BILLS, DO SOME FILING AND A BIT OF OTHER PAPER WORK THAT IS SCREAMING FOR MY ATTENTION. DH'S HOME HEALTH CARE AIDE WILL BE HERE WITH HIM FROM 9 AM TO 5 PM AND MY DD WILL BE AT WORK, SO I CAN CONCENTRATE ON THE THINGS THAT I NEED TO DO.

PEOPLE NOT TAKING CARE OF THEIR ANIMALS IS A **HUGE** HATE OF MINE. MIND YOU, THERE ARE NOT MANY THINGS/PEOPLE THAT I HATE. BUT PEOPLE WHO ABUSE/NEGLECT/HURT ON PURPOSE ANIMALS MAKES ME WANT TO RIP SOMEONES HEAD OFF AND STUFF IT DOWN A GARBAGE DISPOSAL. AGAIN, MIND YOU THAT I AM NOT NORMALLY A VENGFUL/HATEFUL PERSON. GOD DID NOT PUT ANIMALS HERE ON EARTH FOR PEOPLE TO DO TO THEM WHAT SOME PEOPLE DO. I OFTEN WISH THAT FOLKS WHO NEGLECT/ABUSE & SUCH TO ANIMALS SHOULD HAVE, AT LEAST, THE VERY SAME DONE TO THEM!!!

WELL, I GUESS THAT IS THE UPDATE ON ME FOR TODAY. I HOPE YOU ALL WILL HAVE A WONDERFUL & BLESSED & RELAXING REMAINDER OF THE DAY.

THE TEMPERATURE IS NICE THIS AFTERNOON, AROUND MID 70'S, SO I AM GOING TO TAKE MY 4-FOOTED BABY FOR A WALK.

~~STARR~~

Well the "sick" dumped dog is going to be a mommy. Now why would you go to the trouble to get a dog a chip and not get her fixed? I know the vet where I take Mutt charges a pretty penny, but the ASPCA will do it for $50.

I hate hearing about what idiot people do with their pets. I just don't understand if they don't want them why do they have them?

Starr, good to hear you are feeling so good and have such good news. Give hubby birthday congratulations from me.

I remember the fools across the road who used to leave tins of spaghetti for me to feed to their cats when they went home for the week. I let them know quick smart that if they wanted me to feed them they had to leave proper food.

Had one of my "achy" days today, had big plans but they didn't eventuate because everything ached. I just wish I could get a doctor to tell me why I get like this sometimes. I know I need to loose some weight but you'd think that if it was the weight I would feel like this all the time.

OK I'll shut up about myself now, just needed to vent a little.

Looking forward to the Sparks 30 days of fit food challenge, hopefully I'll drop some pounds and feel a little better.

Peace and long life - Jules

Oh, dear, that brings back bad memories of some former neighbors who were clueless about their cat. They didn't have her spayed and she had litter after litter. They didn't know enough to feed her cat food but left out a bag of dog food for her and the kittens as well as their dog that they let roam. She became very emaciated and began bringing her kittens over to my house to get cat food. We managed to get homes for the kittens that survived, but several died in my house from malnutrition. It made me sick to see how careless they were about their pets.

Maintaining.

It's been a very interesting day today. I was working on the side of the house digging out a flower bed that I'm changing. For the past few days I've seen a young kitty out there that I thought was after my birds. It was one that had been living in a neighbors garage with it's sister and then they had kittens this spring. The kittens were adopted and I thought the two mothers had been fixed....wrong. As I was pulling the plants out and got to the window well, I knelt down to pull out the ferns that had started growing there and found why the young mother has been hanging around....there are 3 babies there. I am just sick about it. I backed off and found a towel to put in there plus some food. Mom is back there tonight but I need to figure out how to catch her and rescue the babies. I know I can't kept them but when the little tiger one looked up at me I just wanted to cry. Right now I am just angry that they didn't get them fixed and now there's a second litter. Daisy is having a hard enough time living with another cat I know she would never accept the kittens. I've already reached out for help but why can't people take care of these poor animals so this doesn't happen. Sorry, I want so much to help these babies and their mom.

Please keep this little family in you prayers. Hope I can rescue all of them.

Well, this morning at 8AM, Garfield was loaded into the truck and headed north to his new home with Nina & Ron. (picture on my page). He seems to have settled in for the ride, as I have already received a pic of him sleeping in the seat of the truck. Will be waiting tonight for that call that he has arrived home safely. I do miss the little scrapper, but am getting more comfortable since meeting Ron and talking with Nina. I know where he is and know he is in for a wonderful life ahead with lots of love.

I do not regret any one moment of this experience and I will do it again if another baby needs our help. Hopefully, next time, DH will be more prone to us keeping whatever we find and help. We found Jacie in about the same condition and kept her. She is now our little girl of love.

Good morning everyone,
Wow, lots going on here on this thread!!!

MaryAlice, that is so sad that someone just dropped off the dog at your neighbor's. Hopefully it is okay and they will keep him. Maybe the other owners just couldn't afford to keep him and that there isn't anything wrong. I'm sure you will find a good home for Duke.

Yesterday we ran errands most of the day so today is a stay at home day. Of course, the football games will be on but we won't be going anywhere else to watch them like we do when we are at the cabin.

Starr, hope all goes well with the emergency surgery and congrats on all your other good news!!

The weather right now is beautiful and a little cooler than usual which is nice for a change.

Have a great Saturday!

HAY, HAY, HAY...HOW'S IT GOING EVERYONE?

Good news everyone.....my friend found her DD. She was missing for 2 & 1/2 days. The police finally found her, just two houses down from the police station! The mom is not sure what she's going to do with her, as she does not want to come home and go back to school as she is now embarrassed. I say, "she made her bed, let her lay in it".

More good news.....my sweet DH bought me a Fitbit Flex yesterday, and 2 new pairs of tennis shoes. I'd been wanting the Fitbit and NEEDED the shoes. The shoes I had were 4 years old and hurting my feet!

I just got a phone call from someone in my church saying that my Pastor's sweet wife had to have emergency appendectomy surgery either late last night or early this morning. Said that she did well with surgery, but were praying for a quick recovery. Karen is the fittest & slimmest person that I know.

Is it ok if I give you all some more good news? I went to my primary care doctor yesterday and found out that I have lost 13 pounds in just over 3 weeks!!!! emoticon emoticon Is it ok to say that I am super, super happy???

TODAY MY CITY IS HAVING A BREAST CANCER AWARENESS 5K FUN RUN (SINCE OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH). ALL PROCEDES GO TO SUSAN G. KOMAN FOR THE CURE. SO THAT ALL WOMEN CAN HAVE MAMOGRAMS AND SUCH. I WISH THAT I COULD TAKE PART IN THAT, BUT I WOULD NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO WALK THE DISTANCE, MUCH LESS RUN IT!! emoticon THEY MADE A LOT OF MONEY LAST YEAR, AND I HOPE THAT THEY WILL MAKE EVEN MORE MONEY THIS YEAR.

TODAY IS MY DH'S 53RD BIRTHDAY. emoticon HE LOVES THE OKLAHOMA SOONERS FOOTBALL TEAM. SO, I BOUGHT HIM MATCHING X-LARGE BATH TOWELS AND A SHOWER SCRUBBER THAT SAY OKLAHOMA UNIVERSITY ON THEM. OLDEST DD BOUGHT HIM AN OKLAHOMA UNIVERSITY LAP BLANKET, YOUNGEST DD BOUGHT HIM A BOOK ABOUT THE SOONERS. ALTHOUGH I AM PRETTY SURE THAT THERE IS NOT MUCH, IF ANYTHING, IN THAT BOOK THAT HE DOES NOT ALREADY KNOW. HE'S BEEN AN OU FAN SINCE BEFORE HE WAS A TEENAGER. emoticon

WERE GETTING RAIN HERE, WHICH WE HAVE NOT SEEN IN MONTHS. OUR GROUND IS SO DRY AND ALMOST EVERYTHING IS BROWN. WE NEED ALL THE MOISTURE WE CAN GET, AT THIS POINT. I JUST GAVE MY BLACK LAB A "STORM PILL" (PROZAC FOR DOGS) BECAUSE SHE IS TERRIFIED OF RAIN, THUNDER, LIGHTNING, HEAVY WIND. MY POOR BABY......IF IT GETS TOO BAD I WILL PUT HER THUNDERSHIRT ON. I WISH SHE DID NOT FREAK OUT WHEN IT STORMS, BUT I KNOW THAT A LOT OF DOGS DO. WE USE TO HAVE AN AMERICAN ESKIMO SPITZ THAT WAS THE SAME WAY. SHE WOULD START TREMBLING LONG BEFORE THERE WERE ANY VISIBLE SIGNS OF A STORM, AND WOULD STILL BE TREMBLING AN HOUR AFTER THE SIGNS OF THE STORM WAS GONE. emoticon

All of our principles of love and compassion are only empty words if we are compromised in our ability to listen to one another…When we listen with the heart, we empower the one who is speaking and we strengthen the bond between us.
Jeanne Harrison Niewejaar

I spoke to the family of the lady that was interested in Duke. I was told that the day after she saw Duke, someone dumped a female dog in her front yard. She thought it was a lost dog because the dog had a chip, she didn't want to take Duke till she found the owner. Well with the help of the pound she found the owner, but every time that she, the pound or a vet called the family about the dog, they hung up. So right now she has a dog at her house that needs a home and thinks that something must be wrong with the dog since the chip was renewed in April.

'Morning, all! Ahhh, the weekend is finally here. Being retired, the weekends aren't that special except for my "Game Giveaway of the Day" website that features a new game on Saturday and Sunday. I've been going there for years and have downloaded some great games. Makes me look forward to the weekends.

Spent most of yesterday worrying about our eldest donkey, Catie. Went up to feed her and found her in the barn pasture laying there like she was dead. She was colicing again so had the vet come out. It's so hard with these little ones. Can't use the things he'd use with horses, She seemed better last night. Hopefully she'll eat her breakfast this morning. Poor baby.

MaryAlice, sounds like you're doing a great job with Duke. I use to use a halti on my Rottie when we went for walks. They sure are a big help with a puller.

Cobra, Thanks for letting me know how you quit. I might try those little cigars. It has become a financial thing for me also. The damn cigs are just too expensive and yet I still keep lighting them up. At least I don't chain smoke anymore. That's a big step for me. I'm hoping that when I get down to a half a pack, I'll just quit! My biggest worry is that my weight will balloon up. I'm not an emotional eater, I'm an emotional smoker. At least that's how it is now.
Just love your first name, Cobra. Is there a story behind why your parents named you that? Very unusual, I think. Glad Gabe is calming down. Give him an extra pet for me.

Have a great day, everyone,
Hugs, Linda

Good for you Cobra for giving up the smokes. I gave up the stinking things years ago, it took a couple of tries but finally stopped and now can't stand the smell of them. We have nicotine patches over here that make it easier (if you have a bit of willpower as well) to give them up.

I'm glad we don't have stinkbugs here also, Australia is already home to all sorts of horrible things that sting, bite and are poisonous, we don't need anymore.

Kay, I think our stink bugs headed in your direction. We had tons of them last year and this year have had very few. Didn't know they bite but the sure can make an terrible smell. The cats won't chase them either.

Jules, you wouldn't want them. They looks like prehistoric bugs.

MaryAlice, sorry it didn't work out for Duke.

Took my neighbor out for lunch today. She is such a sweet lady. We go to the seed store for the birds and right next door is the Country Deli. A quaint little place that everything is homemade.

That's too bad, Mary Alice. I think one drawback these days is the economy, it's getting better, but it's expensive to feed a large dog, and while people would like to have one, they can't afford them.

I didn't know stink bugs bit either, until I felt something biting me yesterday & looked down expecting to see a biting fly & there was a stink bug; twice it happened. Kinda of like a fly bite.We have stink bugs all summer, but not like this, it's like an invasion. Chickens must not even like them, I don't see them trying to grab them!!

My Susie loses weight really easily too, Sandi, she was up to over 14 at her first visit to the vet a few weeks ago, by the time I had her back she was under; lost a full pound. Now Jake, is a whole different ball game. I try to cut him back & then he just goes out & forages. I'd just have to take him out to do his business on a leash & if I get serious, I probably have to do that or he find something to eat out there. lol

Congrats, CraftyC!!! I know quitting smoking is difficult, saw my family members go through it!! Great job!!

Good Friday Morning Everyone!
I did get my emails figured out. I think it had something to do with the new SP setup but don't know why it waited to mess things up. Oh well, hope I continue to get everything! It was a pain having to go to each of my team to see what I missed!!!!

Stink bugs, uuuuk! don't like them, hopefully they won't last long, Kay!!!

Crafty, glad Gabe is doing better too. Congratulations on quitting smoking, awesome!
MaryAlice, did I miss something, did the people decide they didn't want Duke? Glad he is doing better with his walks.

Mary Anne, I just hate it when all those little frogs are everywhere. When I take Zoey out she goes nuts trying to catch them and she's a lot quicker than they are!!

Have a good Friday. We are off to run some errands in a bit so will check back in later.
Oh yes, I took Zoey in yesterday for her weigh in and she's 14.3, her goal is 14. She has so much more energy now! Wish I could lose like her!!!!

what i did was stop smoking the kind i have been for years & started smoking the little 20 pack of phillies cigars cuz the were a lot cheaper. they finally got the better of me. i had been trying to quit for awhile with no luck. finally one day i was allotted 8 cigs and when i smoked the last one it tasted awful. haven't smoked since. it also helped that man was supportive and allotted me so many cigs a day. if that wasn't enough for the day then ever how many more he gave me that was how many less i got the next day. started just smoking how many he gave me for the day. every few day he would cut it down a little more til i said don't buy me any more. i was ready to quit. cobra is my real first name. crafty cuz i love learning & doing crafts. Gabe seems calmer since he got neutered. now both my fur babies have all their shots up to date. thanks every one for being so very nice.

Good Morning I'm off again today, I'm going to the store and pick up some things. I didn't get much done yesterday, but both dogs did get at least 2 short walks.

Duke is doing pretty good. he is still very skittish and this sometimes makes walks interesting and if I don't have the haltie on him he pulls, but being it hasn't been that long he has even known what a leash is and I don't have the time really work with him, he is doing good. This morning he sat and waited for his food with little work. I only had to pick his bowl up once.

Good Friday morning, everyone. Going to be a warm sunny day here today.

Good to have you back on SP, Sandi. Are you getting your SP mail now? The only time I've ever had problems is when my ISP provider bounced my messages for some stupid reason and SP quit sending them. Have the same thing with my Yahoo groups. Then I have to go in to my accounts and reset the email options. Pain in the butt!

CraftyCobra, what do we call you? Crafty? Cobra? Glad Gabe is doing better. I saw on your signature bar that you are 170 days without smoking. Did you quit cold turkey? I am down to a pack a day from 2-2.5 packs. My son just quit cold in July so I'm really trying to quit. Just haven't made that final decision. Any tips?

Kay, we've got the stink bugs all summer long. I didn't know they could give you a bite. I'll be a bit more careful with them now.

Jules, thanks for the link on the sonic snake repellers. I'd need a lot of them to cover my yard, I think. I wonder if it would make worms leave too. Want to keep them. I guess I'll just have to rely on my 2 Labs. They rip a snake apart in seconds. Never saw anything like it. We've had 3 done like that this summer. Didn't know what was going on until my son happened to see our chocolate lab attack a snake in the yard. It happened so fast he didn't have time to call her off. I've had dogs before that would bark at a snake but never attack one. It makes me worried that they could get bit.

Hope everyone has a good day, Hugs, Linda

Good to hear Gabe is doing OK as well emoticon

Linda I have 12 solar snake repellers that work on a sonic noise that transmits through the soil to keep the snakes away, the following link will show you what they look like, although I didn't pay this much for them. You have to cover the perimeter of whatever yard you have. The size of the perimeter will decide how many repellers you need.

Kay I don't believe we have stink bugs here, thank heavens, we have enough here that bite and whatever, we don't need any more. I was just thinking that it won't be long before we have March flies out and flying, they have stingers like small crowbars!!!

Glad Gabe is okay too CrafyC!!

Glad about 99% of our snakes are non-poisonous around here, and there mostly garter or water snakes! But you get down to where my parents are from or my dh is from in KY & you get all manner of poisonous snakes.

I could not believe it when I went outside today; it was like someone had let loose a billion stink bugs overnight, they were everywhere. Those nasty buggers bite too!! DH just informed me it's because the farmers are taking the soybeans off & they coming out of the fields; that makes sense.

So glad to hear that all is okay with Gabe. What a relief for you.

All this talk about snakes.....when we first moved to PA, we had a number of snakes. I was told they were not poisonous but I wasn't sure. They would sun themselves on top of the bushes and on the walkways. For the past few years, I haven't really seen many. At least, not the large ones. We've always had a lot of frogs and toads and this year we hit the jackpot on turtles.

Good Morning teammates!!!

Thanks, Jules, I will go try that. Don't know why all of a sudden I don't get my "stuff"!!! What is weird is that I get everything on my Iphone but it's harder to post from there. So it might be some other technical problem with my computer. However, I get my regular emails. Go figure!

We have had a few snakes here in Fl. and the mtns. but fortunately not too many. Don't really care to encounter them!!!!

The weather is suppose to turn more "fallish" here so hopefully it will be a nice weekend.

MaryAlice, I know what you mean about your feet and knees not cooperating!!!

Thanks everyone, it's good to be back on SP!!!!!

Good morning, I'm off today, want to take both dogs for long walks and my feet are telling my feet and knees are telling me I'm not getting out of this chair.

I haven't seen many snakes, I know this area has plenty of snakes. During the drought I had a snake that moved into the pond by the front door. That freaked me out, but it wasn't poisonous so we learned to live together.

Just stopped in to say Good Morning to everyone.

Jules, what do you use as snake repellers? We've had several snakes in the yard this year and only one was not poisonous. We have copperheads and cottonmouths all the time. They scare the dickens out of me. I'm always worried that one of the little ones might get bitten.

Sunny day here today. Have a great day, everyone.

Go to the Start page and click onto the Account/Email Preferences (just under your name) and check each heading to see if everything you want checked is checked.

Poured last night, thunder and lightening, the works, on the good side Maggs was calm and reasonably collected in her Thundershirt, it was great. Tonight looks like it'll be a frost .... how do you contend with weather like that, my poor garden doesn't know it it's Arthur or Martha.

Good to see you back Sandi, when the weather gets a bit warmer I'll give my hairies a bath as well.

Spotted our first snake on Tuesday, frightened the crap out of me as it was there where I'd walked not ten minutes ago. It was a metre long Tiger snake, he was enjoying the sun so I stamped my feet and stood there with the rake until he made his way down to the creek. Looks like I'll have to get the snake repellers out and in the garden pretty quick.

Linda, I don't think it's his leg, I thought it might be a pulled muscle like in the groin or stomach area; he's done that before, but it usually works itself out quicker than this time too. I don't know if it because he's older, or if that's not what it is. It's his underbelly that's sensitive.

Nellie, lovely picture, blessings on their union!!

CraftyC, poor little Gabe!! He probably won't be liking you, but it's all for his good!! lol

FLOWERDALE, cleaning the kitchen is one of my least favorite things to do to. I totally understand where your coming from.

NELLIE, emoticon photo of your kids. They look like they are quite happy. Blessings to both of them.

CRAFTYCOBRA, I know that Gabe will not like being at the vet or what they are going to do to him. But once he gets all of the necessities done, hopefully, it will be a very long time before he will have to go back to the vet again. emoticon emoticon

Well, it is Wednesday. My DH's home health care aide is suppose to be here tonight so that I can go to church. So that will be nice. My oldest DD is going to drop her dog off after while for us to babysit while she goes to a doctor's appointment. Looking forward to seeing my grand-dog. When she gets back, I'm going to see if she can stay with her dad long enough for me to go to the bank, pharmacy & my cell phone company.

HAPPY 2014. MAKE IT A FUN & HEALTHY YEAR!

Linda a soup before dinner will also help. Just remember to have a low calorie soup made with plenty of liquid.

Good Wenesday morning, everyone. It's 59 degrees and sunny here in Arkansas. Just a beautiful morning.

MaryAlice, that is some good advice from your Mother. Even my doctor is telling me to walk as much as I can. I'm going to try my best to follow her advice. Especially having the water before I eat. I'm curious if that will dampen my appetite. I'll keep you posted. Tell your Mom I thank her very much for the advice.

Kay, is it possible that Jake hurt his back? I'm not sure that if it was his leg that he would wimper when you carried him.

Nellie, really nice picture of your daughter and her new husband. You must be very proud of both of them.

Hope everyone has a great day,
Linda

Nice pic Nellie!!

Poor little Jake, I don't think I've seen a dog grizzle for no reason so he must be in some sort of pain. I know what you mean about "another one", I took Steven to the hospital for his sleep lab appointment and when I got home Ray was not well. He'd done some mowing out in the warm sun and I think he overdid it. I got inside and the kitchen was a mess with the dishes still on the sink, the last think I wanted to do was clean up after a long day out, but there you are!!

Peace and long life - Jules

I just want to mention that I put a picture of my daughter Catherine and her husband Brad at their wedding in the photo section of my SparkPage.
