We are using SOS for the first time this year. My son is using the 6th grade curriculum for Language Arts, Math, History & Geography, and Bible. We are really enjoying it! He loves that he can get through his lessons so quickly, and I love that it mostly grades itself.

Anita, thank you so much. I am sure excited about the grading part especially. With daycare on top of homeschooling, I find myself exhausted after they leave and way behind on grading much of the time.

Hello. I've used SOS with some of my kiddos for over 10 years! It has been a tremendous help during "crazy" years. I also LOVE how it checks the work for the teacher! Currently my 12th grade (to be) daughter is using it & has used it for her entire high school career. My 2nd son also used it to complete HS. He did 4 years of work in 3 years, mostly because of how great SOS is set up.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Blessings, Anita in GA

Anyone still using SOS? We are starting it this year for Language Arts for my 7th grader. Hoping to work more on writing.

He's usually got spelling down to a t! Give him a spelling list one day and he'll have it done and memorized the next. He hates repetition in spelling and such so hoping this approach avoids that.

Thanks for the info! I will look into it. I am still thinking I might use SOS further down the road. DS really likes the computer so I may give it a try.

There are so many members in the group - who really do not post - so when someone does I am not sure if they are new or not! LOL!

Blessings,
Julie

Hi,
I'm not new. I just don't post to boards very often.

Right now, we're using www.theheadoftheclass.com for our 1st grade daughter. They go up to 2nd at this time, but they will eventually go up to 8th. It's all free, and a good deal of it is online. We just skip the worksheets, because she cannot write, because of the CP. You should check it out, since you've got a 2nd grader.

FYI, SOS is on sale, 20% off, until the end of April. Sometimes during the year you can find it for 12% off.

I am not an SOS user but I have thought about it. My son is in the 2nd grade so we would have been just starting it next year. I think I have changed my mind though and decided to go with Heart of Dakota.

Are you new to the group? If you are - a big welcome!

Blessings to you,
Julie

Hi,
We've just begun using SOS with our daughter, 4th grade. We school year round, so she's starting 4th this week.

Anyone else use SOS? What do you think of it? Like it? Hate it? Problems?

Next year, we will probably be using it for our younger daughter as well. She has cerebral palsy and cannot write. However, she can use a computer fairly easily.

Thanks!
Anni
