Okay, I'm back - a little late, but I'm back.

My life is still upside down right now, so I might be a bit sporadic with my check ins, but I'm giving it my best.

Last week from all the stress I hardly ate anything, and was actually all the way down to 141... but I'm starting to try to get my life somewhat back to normal, so my weight's leveling back out again.

I meant to point out that during the Xmas contest we only posted our weight on the contest board and chatted on the message board (which was very organized and made viewing peoples progress a lot easier, I actually prefer that system).
With this contest people post their weights AND chat on the bond challenge board, which makes the contest message board a bit unecesarry... so I figure that's why people are not aroung here anymore... that's all.

I hope everyone's weekend was great.

Mica, thats very sweet of you. I am working hard at owining my adiction and taking control of it. (thats the didfference of struggling with 20 lbs or 100, so I've GOT to geet that straight). I was going to takt you up on this, or even propose setting up a different weekend-weight thread, but I really DO HAVE TO OWN THIS MYSELF. I am just going to focus on my star-calendar and work hard at controlling myself at night. Did great last night, so I want to believe I'm slowly working my way back to my TRACK.

Don't worry B, I know you will get back that momentum. Just visualize it in your head and get back back to that place you were before Christmas. If you want we could come back to this post 2x a week to talk about our progress. I had a bad night on Saturday and I thought I got the sodium out of my system, I have been 100% since Sunday morning and the scale is not moving and tomorrow is weight in! UGH!!!!

My dear sweet Mica, at the moment I have hope for everyone except me. I thought I was going to go strong, and really kick butt, but Im only going strong at failing, so... I cant get enought kicks in the butt to make up for all the damage I am doing... ouch!

I didnt think the challenges rules were demanding enough and sure enough, I took it easy and now i gainned another pound. So dangerous when youv'e lost over 70 to gain back 11!! Im so scared and cant control myself!!!!

Good morning everybody!

I'm back (from outer space) to my old self, and I want to apologize for beenig so down. The medical term is depression, but I've got things back in order and doing well again.

That was very nice Kinch! I am looking forward to this challenge! I already lost 2.4 lbs since Monday but not counting that in my 15 lbs to lose. I really need to lose the Xmas weight plus the extra I still had from before that I never got to lose.

Aww K, sorry but I'm just being a pouty yucky me. i'M REALLY HAVING A STRING OF BAD DAYS, PRESURE AT WORK, ETC. ETC., AND i COULD sooo USE SOME GOOD OLD FASHIONED STUFFING MY FACE - LIKE THAT'S GOING TO HELP ANY, lol, But that's what i'd LOOOVVVEEEEE to do. Im fighting it with all I've got, and, having no more pigging out to do - well just feelling sad, sorry for myself and all alone is all I have left.

Im sorry I'm such a sour cabage but Im cheerful and positive 99% of the time - so I'm giving myself permision to be a yucky me for a few days. Please forgive my mood. emoticon

THAT'S QUITE A STORY! Thank you for sharing your story about being morbidly obese. I'm not proud of this, but I'f Im luck in about 3-4 pounds I'll be lucky to weight what YOU weighted when you were morbidly obese... I wonder where that leaves me 70 lbs ago... I should have said I was whale-obese...
I apreciate your support and trying to relate... But I'm sorry, you were only morbidly obese and I was whale-obese. I repeat I'm not proud of it... but maybe our stories are a bit different after all...

You are also very lucky to have lost 70 lbs in 2 years. It has taken me 3 to loose just as much. Now I can be jelous of you for taking "so little" time loosing all that weight and feel lucky that I will soon arive at your STARTING ¨POINT! OUUUUUCHHHH!!!!!!

Yep, at least to my knowledge - I could have been heavier than that, before I recorded that weight. That was back in 2002 - so as you can see, for some people reaching their goal weight, it might seem to go fast, but it's not always fast. It took me about two years to lose down to my lowest weight of 137.5. (Then I went and gained some of it back, but thankfully not to the point of becoming obese again - I really learned a lot of good habits, and I think that's how I managed to gain only around 15 pounds back instead of, like, 70!)

Hey Beauty, you are right in saying that we all have to do this for ourselves in the end but it is a hell of a lot more fun with people on our side fighting the same fight no matter how much we each have to lose. And it is alot more fun and supportive doing it with each other here. So lets do this one this way and the next challenge is yours to run with OK?

Ay Mica, you are soooo sweet.... I myself have been serious at loosing weight for over 20 years and have done nothing but gain, lol. I assure you, for example, that everyone that signed up for the last challenge was serious about loosing the weight this time (for real) and only a couple of people made it to their goals! - So having the intention of beeing serious, and really getting serious are two different things... LOL... I know that from many years of "being serious" AND GAINNING OR KEEPING THE SAME WEIGHT. But maybe that's just me.

Please dont mind me... I just want to get obsessed AND all worked up about this again, as I did last year, when I lost 44+ lbs during the year. But hey, nobody ON THIS TEAM is morbidly obesse and as desperate as I am to get this over once and for all... or has to go full swing, full time, except me... OUCH! It would take another morbidly obese person to know that, right? I guess we each do what works best for us. Maybe I should keep tracking my personal weight on monday and Friday by myself since that worked so nicely for me... a one person challenge, LOL!
I've got to learn to do this and stick to this on my own ANYWAY... I mean I'm not always going to have a buddy to share things with, right? Ideally yes, but in the real world sometimes I will have to do it alone... that's just a fact of life!

So lets get going with the Bond Girl challenge. wHAT EVER THE RULES, fine with me. In the end, all "loosers" are the real winners. I'll just work hard at beeing the biggest looser!

Beauty, I think we are all serious about losing for this contest. This is the one to get us into shape for summer! No time to get lazy or mess around. Personally I weigh myself everyday anyway. It's just that we will just post one day a week. It really is no different. Hoping that each Wed everyone is less the the previous week.And if everyone is really good on the weekend think of that big weigh loss # we get to post. Let's try it this way for a change ok sweets! I for one will be really doing it this time so we can pester each constantly and we can check on this board with each other or anyone else who wants to just to see how we all did on the weekends.

Sound good on the hula/muscle to keep is KISS as Cdn put it! Lose any win a hula/muscle. gain back any lose it!

My weight in this Am was 224 lbs (gainned a full 10 lbs since I stopped weighting in and posting)
My goal is to loose 25 lbs during these 14 weeks.

Just for the record, I THINK WEIGHTING IN ONLY ONCE A WEEK IS BEEING TOO SOFT ON OURSELVES. I am quite disapointed that the rules were setted at something different than that. You are right Mica: by wednesday the gain of the weekend should have worn off, so why try to stay on track during the weekend? We now have the perfect way to say we are trying to loose weigh BUT we can still give ourselves permissions AND earn the prize. So what if we are taking it slow?

I also agree that weight gain should mean the loss of the trophy /hulla or whatever.

Okay, so I take it our weigh-in days will be Wednesdays?

Depending on my weight on Wednesday, that will determine my goal # of pounds to lose. Long and short of it, I still have the goal to get to 139. So I'll say 139 is my goal weight, and right now I'm not sure how many pounds that will be.

Regarding trophies (or hula girls/muscle guy), I just say if you lose weight - ANY weight - you get one. If you gain weight - ANY weight - you lose one. Simple enough without having to keep track of what your overall lowest weight was and that sort of thing. I think it's very fair, too. But I'll wait for your final say on that, Mica and Kinch.

Hi gang! Can we agree to post comments about the challenge here only so that everyone involved come only here to get feedback about the challenge.

Kinch & I are working out the details to please everyone and it may take more time before we can set it up for tomorrow. These are my thought so let me know what you all think. Trying to take suggestions from everyone andmake some compromises.

1) I agree to keep the goal in lbs and not % as it can be confusing to keep track of.

2) I would be ok with the one day a week weigh in. By Wednesday the couple of lbs gained on a weekend would come off anyway and weight should be less than the Wed before in any case if we are going to lose this weight.

3) Hula girls for us girls & Muscle guy for Cdn would be a fun change. The more hula girls the more we start to looklike a Bond girls right? Or muscle guy in your case Cdn.

4) How to work the hula & muscle in is not resolved. I think it is funb to attach somethingto the progress we make but if we are going to yoyo it does not seem fair to keep the prize if the weight goes back up. Ideas are welcome!

5) ALL THAT WILL BE JOINING CAN START BY POSTING THEIR COMMITTMENT & THEIR GOAL HERE ASAP. WHEN THE BOND BOARD IS UP WE WILL USE THE SAME WEIGHT POSTING FORMAT AS LAST CHALLENGE. If theboard is not up tomorrow Jan 7th we are still starting and will post there as soon as it's up so no excuse not to start getting on track tomorrow.

Kinch will be the challenge moniter and willkeep tabs on us and kick some butt when needed.I will be around to help out!

So the challenge is running for 14 weeks Jan 7 to April 11. The last weigh in day will a Friday I guess to complete the week right?

Hi gang, and an amazing weight loss year to all of you.

What really really worked for me - It started me going very nicely during the weekends - was the weight in on friday and THEN on monday. At first I didn't want everybody getting trophies and not me, so I just stayed on track and started earning those puppies. This really made me / kept me accountable since its during the weekends when we tend to "bend" the rules "a little". I have a feeling that a weight in once a week does not put as much pressure on us, and does not make us try as hard.
Whatever you guys decide is fine with me, but if its kind of hard to keep track of the trophies or whatever... Isnt it worth if if it keeps us going strong, and getting thin? PLUS, we all know the rules already so... Just let us know what's it going to be.

My own experience during these 10 days not tracking my weight is horrible! I gainned 9 lbs! So, I'm really hoping you'll go for the weight ins on fri & monday to keep us REALLY accountable!

If keeping track of the trophies is such a pain, then dont get a trophy if you loose on friday, but get one on monday if you weigh the same, 2 if you lost more weight. In the final accounting it turns out to the same thing, right? could that work for you?

That sounds like an interesting twist Kinch. I can set up the sticky for the contest. Once we have it pinned down with all the members who will be participating and contest rules down we are ready to go. Would be good to have it set up for Monday morning so everyone can go on the post their goal. I think like the last challenge we should use that board just for posting results and continue to use the same contest message board to discuss issues we are having on the challenge. Of course jokes are posted on the Narced DiverLounge as usual but will be great to have everyone go over there with a joke after posting their weigh in results. Lets hear from all of you out there.

Hi, Gang,

First, Mica, I am very happy to keep tabs on people for the BOND GIRL CHALLENGE, I'll contact you in a private email to make sure I'm as pro as I can be for a "challenge virgin".

I like an idea of a trophy and I think the hula girl is the closest we can get to a Bond Girl (of course we'll think of something *special* for CDN). Have you (or anybody) have success bringing in any outside icons for inserting into messages?

Also, I'd like to try something totally off the wall and instead of going by actual pounds, what would you think of using percentages this time? I'm horrible at math so I'll use an example that I'm pretty sure is correct: We set a goal of losing 10% of your current weight, so if you're 150lbs you need to loose 15 lbs (uh, right?). We award a trophy for every 1% you loose. If 10% is too low for the deadline date, we could go for more.

Whaddaya think?

Also, am I correct that, Mica you will set up a seperate sticky for the challenge?

And last, how about Joke Day for weigh-in day; it's a day when we can check in for jokes and get a laugh out of *something* if we're not doing all that well.

Hi Bludivr! The rules are on th very 1st post on this board but the challenge is finished are we are about to start another one soon after New years. Stay tuned for that!

I don't mind using trophies, but maybe an easier way to keep track of them. Unless we just handle our own trophy count, but there has to be some form of measure. Since not everyone is on the same eating plan it's hard to give trophies for staying within cal's Kelly, some of us could go outside our calorie range and still lose weight.

Any ideas are welcome but I would just keep track of lbs loss using the same format for posting so everyone sees how we are all doing. Let's start with a goal and go from there. Once a week weigh in is good for me too. Is everyone ok with Mondays? It is a tough day to weigh in bc I know my best weigh in day is Friday!

Let me know what ya all think!

I'm up for the challenge - the time frame is good, as you're certainly correct there - it's probably going to take another week to get the remaining leftovers and goodies out of the house!

Trophies - don't care if we keep them or not. They *were* confusing, though, for us people with our weights bouncing up and down (I totally lost track of mine... that 1 trophy I gave myself was a big guess!).

What I want to know is what we can do to motivate each other? If the trophy thing goes away, what else can be an incentive (aside from the obvious goal of dropping the weight, feeling good and all that stuff)?

Maybe we can earn trophies other ways instead of via what our weight is? Maybe earn trophies for staying in our calorie range for the entire week and/or for burning the number of calories we're supposed to through exercise?

For me, the biggest key to the weight loss is staying within my calorie range EVERY day.

It could go something like this
Stayed within calorie range all week: 1 trophy
Burned required calories with exercise: 1 trophy

So you could earn a total of two trophies a week? If you still want to track weight, maybe just do ONE weigh-in a week, too? And since weekends are toughest we could have the weigh-ins on mondays to hold us accountable?

I don't want to make it too complicated, though. Just throwing out ideas.

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Xmas!

Santa was generous and I did quite a bit of overeating yesterday but I'm back on track today oh, yes! I'm one of the few soules here at the office, when Id so rather be doing stuff at home: too bad! Maybe I'll go during the lunch hour.

As to the contest, Mica, I say we go for the "Bond Girl Challenge" and stick to the weekend keeping off trophy-earning system now that we've got it down. It has helped me to stay on track DURING THE WEEKENDS BIG TIME! How about it goes on from January 8th (WHEN i ASSUME MOST OF US WILL BE BACK AND RID OF THE LEFT OVRS FORM THE HOLIDAYS) till abril 11th? That would be the last friday before holy week when I assume a lot will be going out to vacation... How's that?

Mica, you did an amazing job keeping tabs on us during the last challenge, so I say you stay again... would it bee too much trouble?

I wrapped up the Contest boaard with a recap! I second that Kelly! We all tried and we all got some results! Beauty & Cdn rocked it!

thanks for the pep talk. I know I am the winner of the contest, but I need to be a bigger 2looser" to be closer to normal. I am really concerned since I have only been able to loose 1 lb, in spite of my 100% efforts and still have another to go by tomorrow... Oh, and - did I mention I have a dinner party at home tonight? OUCH!!!! I'm sticking to my diet menu, but I am really afraid I wont reach my personal goal by my bd...
Also I am already working on the Bond girl challenge! Where is Cherry? She & Kinch started the idea of this contest, and she's off taking pics... oh well...

Hi everyone! Seems like I am living a different life with this new job. But all good! Just hate that I do not have the time to check in more often but I am keeping tabs on you all :)

Beauty do no stress on those 2 lbs. It will be off by mid week for sure. It happens and sometimes you have to give in a little. You are still the winner by far!

Morning Gang!

Mica, thanks for the good wishes. I did get rave reviews on the bod but did no singing.

The thing about work still worries me, but I've got to keep going. PMS and bad desicions last night and I binged on Mini Musketeers! How terrible of me! I gained back 2.2 lbs, when I have been loosing non stop for days and days on end! That was so stupid! Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk. Great thing is, my holiday stress/party's are now over - or will be by fridya and now its just our time together to enjoy Xmas movies, & us.
Im back on track again today, going strong! I wish there was something I could do to undo what I did, butr there is no such thing (still not able to willingly throw up, lol)

Nothing special, Kelly. Hubby gave me the outfit Im wearing today, but this is really not my final goal, but a temp one. i am already working on 20 lbs less for my BD!!! YEA!!!!

That quote is so true Beauty. LOL so you did not let me off the hook as i thought. I will continue to be careful during the holidays. If I can maintain my weight and start full steam ahead afterwards I will be happy. That way I can start where I left off and know that by next vacation I will be where I want to be.
