Went & checked it out on Sunday. I've gone on Sundays before & always regret it. Saturday is really the best day.
Because of our schedules, this year, we were barely able to make it on Sunday. We got there late, after 1PM and missed the silent auction and a seminar we wanted to attend. A few booths had already closed, including 2 that were on my to-do list. Especially disappointing because I was actually hoping to see my OW instructor, from 15 years ago. Many years ago, he moved away & now he only comes to town for OWU. There were some dive friends who didn't have booths this year, but I knew that before I went. But still missed them greatly.
Of course, all the downsides of this years show were on me. Going late, on the last day...well, I know better.
On the upside, I did get to see a couple old friends. And got to meet some new people too.
Had a wonderful talk about ocean conservation with Deanna, from Discover the Depths. She had a life sized great white shark, that she made out of recycled plastic.
They had the pool set up. You can try out new equipment or experience scuba for the first time. On Sunday, it was mostly kids. Trying scuba for the their very first time. So fun to see how excited they are about this sport. Of course, that brought back happy memories of my youngest daughter doing her first dive in that very spot, many years ago.
Would love to go to a DEMA show, just never seems to work out for me.
