I love this recipe for black bean patties because its easy to make as well as tasty, two of my favorite qualities in a recipe! They aren't quite firm enough to toss on the backyard grill, but are good for an everyday meal. This veggie burger recipe is both vegetarian and vegan. INGREDIENTS: • 1/2 onion, diced • 1 can black beans • 1/2 cup flour • 2 slices bread, crumbled • 1 tsp garlic powder • 1 tsp onion powder • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt • salt and pepper to taste • oil for frying PREPARATION: Sautee the onions till soft, about 3-5 minutes. In a large bowl, mash the beans until almost smooth. Add sauteed onions and the rest of the ingredients, except the oil, adding the flour a few tablespoons at a time to combine well. Form bean mixture into patties, approximately ½ inch thick and fry patties in a small amount of oil until slightly firm. Make veggie burgers and enjoy!
Beans...Brownie - even the name sounds condesending!!! YUCK! We have black bean burgers in thsia rea and theya re pretty good. YUMMMY ---come to think of it grilled burgers sound pretty apetizing for dinner tonight. Might just have to crack out some, with low fat mayo, mustard, dill pickels, wheat bread and baked fries. Yes ---we do indeed need to make use of this board.
Soup - (just received and wanted to share with all of you! Heat 1-2 TBSP Olive Oil and add 1 TBSP of Chopped Garlic, 1 Large Chopped Carrot, 1 Small Chopped Onion- Brown these.
In the Mean time- I mix up 2 cups of Low Sod Chicken Broth. and pour it in as soon as the veggis are browned or softened to your taste.
I then add 1 can of chopped tomoatos or some tomato paste and some more water (I like the chopped tomotos the best). I also add 3 TBSP of Worechestershire Sauce, and 1 TSBP of dried Italian Seasoning. I also like to add some hot pepper flakes but you can add whatever you like
I add chopped cellery, chopped zuchini, chopped cabbage and mushroom, Let these simmer for about 20 minutes and it is done.
I some times add small potatos, sweet potatos or accorn squash as well. You can use whatever veggis you want.
