My nephew is in pharm sales. He worked in med equip sales b4 that and office equip sales b4 that. Figured he would gain skills in each consecutive job that would help him get the pharm sales job.
Good Luck to you! Career changes are exciting. I work in the medical field but I don't work with any Pharm. Salespersons. You could try contacting a placement agency and talking with a recruiter to see what they look for and then include those things in your resume. Or better yet - go to monster.com and read ALL the ads for pharm sales and see what everyone is looking for (even if they are not in your location). Then you could figure out a way to include similar skills on your resume or at least know which skills to brush up on. You could always take a medical terminology or anatomy/phisiology class at a local tech school.
I know this is a bit off-topic, but decided to share anyway in hopes that my fellow divers could lend me a hand.
I have decided to embark on a career change into the world of Pharmaceutical Sales. I am currently hitting the job market very hard and am running into some difficulty breaking into this industry. While I do have an excellent proven sales record, it isn't in the medical field - which is what I believe is slowing me down.
My question to the group is this - does anyone have any advice, know anyone they can pass my resume to, or have any tips they can give me to help me get noticed so I can land my dream job? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!!
