I do not know how you do it Tina! I had all that on too and was comfortable at 71. When I dove at 57 degrees I couldn't do more than 20 min! Anxious to hear all about it!

Oh, I'm thinking at depth it will be around 40 degrees. And probably not much more than 55 or 60 on the surface. Superior is pretty darn cool. I'll be wearing my 7 mil once piece wetsuit with a 2 mil vest with attached 5 mil hood underneath. I'll let you know how it went when I get back. I'm leaving Thursday and coming back late Sunday. I'll be thinking about you and Sal while I'm basking in my freezing dive....

I think if it has always worked for you Sallye than you should go with the flow! Why spoil a good thing. Your plans do sound interesting though.

Tina, the water temp this weekend was 71 degrees and I still wore a 2 layer 7ml with hoodie! What temps are you expecting over in Lake Superior?

Just saw this string of chatting...you guys are spoiled...all that warm water diving!!! Come diving with me in Munising in Lake Superior with a wetsuit! Now THAT's diving! emoticon Brrrrr!!! Actually, I wish I could go somewhere warm and not have to wear such a heavy wetsuit...get rid of some of those weights...but, I'll take whatever diving I can get! Sal, I'm really jealous of you being able to travel so much. But, I enjoy reading about your adventures! You, too, Michela!!!

Hmmmmmm.... I don't have any firm plans yet. I think I'll be goofing off for awhile. I've always wanted to be a resort naturalist. Guide and introduce flora and fauna on land and underwater...
Been told I could do something with my photography.
Some folks after me to get the instructor's, but I've been teaching forever and think I might want to keep a less formal teaching role.
Gotta get the divemaster done.
Serendipity's been very good to me, so I am a bit unwilling to plan too thoroughly right now!

Yes, wandering around work and standing in front of the aquarium muttering, "Will work to dive. Will work to dive." gives administrators even more ammunition in my commitment hearing!
The spontaneity in travel really is a wonderful thing. And work makes me come back sometimes. Don't know what's going to happen in a few years when I retire!

We do get to see alot of wreck, not much else and ripping current! Oh the joys of cold water diving! lol!

It's fun being spontaneous that's for sure and that you can just pick up and go on a whim! I agree work does interfere but at least it pays for the fun times!

Yeah... We talked about folks who put up with, errrrr, I mean enjoy, that sort of diving on a regular basis. We're both spoiled - Caribbean, Bahamas, Hawaii divers... And yes, your diving is much better than NO diving!!

Don't know when the next one is. Why? You got some ideas?!?
I didn't know this was one until about 11 Tuesday night. Great friend and dive buddy, too long unseen, starts the conversation - well, ya just GO DIVING!

Will be in touch with the other buds I saw while I was there... Man, work REALLY interferes with my fun.

Yeah, dive world's a small place. We'll end up on the same boat sometime!

That's the kind of diving we have around here doll with maybe a tad less viz than you had there. Certainly a far cry from Czm diving but diving in any case and better than no diving! So when is the next one? One of these days we are bound to connect somewhere!

It did, indeed, go beautifully - as if some of it had actually been planned! Got in four cold, green, low-viz dives, and had a blast doing it! Friends came through beyond belief, and my face can't decide whether to grin or pout.
Was standby on the flight home last night. Another flight canceled, and I was at the bottom of the barrel. Somehow I ended up with the last seat on the flight (they closed the jetway door behind me) and made it home on time,
Now... I gotta set the next guerrilla dive trip as a reward for meeting some goal, right? Maybe the 5 pounds for the new challenge???
Thanks for being around for this one!
Wanna come along next time?

You are such a tease Sallye! I won't be diving this weekend after all! Charter is all booked, unless we decide to do some shallow shore dives but not really into those so much at this point in the season. Oh well there is next weekend if weather holds up!

One week in paradise is better than nothing but will go by fast after you experienced 1 month there. But I have no double you will milk every moment of it!

Boo hoo! Only one week. I have to come back to work. That wasn't the case in July!
It'll be a blast anyhow.
I just got in at Boynton Beach to get my gills wet. The boat leaves at 3:00.

Yeah! I did three night dives - I think that was all - the longest of which was 2 hours and 26 minutes. One of the girls at the Villa wanted the night dive course, so Liang (instructor) invited me along. We just kept finding octopi and seeing cool stuff - like lots of mating behaviors - crabs, fish, sea slugs, sea cucumbers, sponges... so we just kept on going.
Ehren, a atty from NY, and I did another night and did half the dive by the light of the moon. We could see each other by our bubbles.
There was the smallest octopus I've ever seen. Baby spiny lobsters in the reef under the grass patch. Palm-sized peacock flounders fighting, chasing, and playing leapfrog...
So yeah - it's pretty good!
And I'm GOING BACK!!!
But NOT SOON ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ginsu!
Welcome! Michela is right. I DO love Aldora Divers and Villa Aldora. Nice clean boats, good crew, loooooong dives, surface interval at Mr. Sancho's beach club, great shore diving free in front of the Villa, reasonable room rates, great managers...
Sigh! I wish I were still there!!
I'm envious of your upcoming Riviera Maya trip!
See you in the Narc'd Divers' Lounge!

Hello & welcome! happy you made it to the board!

I was in Cozumel July 19-Aug 2 and dived with
http://www.scubacozumel.com/ They were recommend to me by CJROMB on this team. We really enjoyed diving with them. Pelagicsal, also on this team dives with Aldora and she really loves them there. So either one would be a good bet. Where will you be staying in Cozumel?

Hello,
My husband and I are both scuba divers. He just reached Master Scuba Diver and I have advanced open water. My pregnancy put me behind on dives. :( We are going to Cancun and Cozumel 16-23 of Sept and are looking forward to diving. If anyone knows of a good company to dive through let me know. We can't wait!!!
