Definitely will look at them Zebra. You should copy this on the The Narced Divers Lounge so everyone can have a look too. Seems to be a few thread spreading out and I would like to keep the dive talk on the Lounge thread. make it easier for everyone being on the same page.

I don't have a drysuit (yet!) so I just "sucked it up" and dove it like a woman! LOL

I had a 7 ml and a skin. We were around 100' so the dives were pretty short anyway. There are some videos online if you care to look at them. The journalists shot these on our dives (the Comet and the George Marsh). They did the other videos in other lakes on different days.

It's pretty exciting to say I'm in the picture in the article, though. I kept trying to give them alot of info about our club and why we were diving there, hoping that SOMETHING I said would make it in print, but it didn't. LOL Oh well. LOL

At least it's me in the pic. LOL

Here's a link to the page with the videos, and the article is in a PDF link at the bottom of the page. I think this assingment was more fun/vacation for them than it was "work". LOL

The thing that got me when we were on the Marsh, was that this ship sank in a storm in 1917 and 12 people went down with the ship. If you get a chance to look up the story, it sounds like something out of a novel. In the videos, you'll see there are alot of artifacts that divers have collected and stacked on the deck in a pile. It's an old stove and some large pots. In one of the pots is what's left of a shoe. That just really brought it all into focus for me. I knew people had been on the ship when it sank, and to see a shoe...well, you know. It's a gorgeous wreck, though. It's a 3 masted schooner sitting upright on the bottom. The rigging is still hanging from the bowsprit. It's fantastic.

I did a trip up there with my dive club a couple of years ago. We ended up with two journalists on our boat, who were doing a story about diving in the Great Lakes. They dove the George Marsh and the Comet with us (I think we were in Kingston that year). They published a picture of me in the Toledo Magazine, and I have it on my Sparkpage. You'd never know it was me, but *I* know! LOL

By the way, that water was 49 degrees below the thermocline. Fortunately, the last thermocline was about 20 feet above the deck of the ship so when I got cold I just went up there and swam around for a bit. We were there in September, I think.

I love diving up there, though.

That were I dive too! I am from Montreal so that is the closest diving we have around here although I wait till end mid to end June for my 1st dives of the season. Won't do colder than 64 degrees water temp with a 7ml wetsuit!

I'm in PA, actually, but have family in Upstate NY, near the 1000 Islands. So, I visit them frequently and dive w/friends in Ontario. I've seen some beautiful wrecks up there. It's just so cold and there's not alot of fish life (only gobies & zebra mussels)

I've always wanted to dive in one of the springs in FL. My mom is down there now for the winter, but I'm too poor to visit. lol

For some reason, I seem to do most of my diving in Canada, too. I guess because it's closer. And...I must be a glutten for punishment. The do have some nice wrecks, though.

I saw a post somewhere that said you all hang out in the Narc'd lounge, so I thought I'd duck in to say hi.

I'd rather think about diving that work right now anyway. People here are driving me nuts. LOL

...and then I realized I wasn't in the Narc'd lounge... lol Oh well. See? I'm a newbie. :)
