Well what did your son decide? Is he moving back home? How were your legs feeling after all the up and down the stairs?

I was gone for a bit as my mother-in-law for 29 years had a heart attack and passed away on August 22nd at the age of 72. She had not been feeling well and was retaining water and having trouble breathing for 3 or 4 days before she finally called her daughter and had her take her to Urgent Care. They ran the blood work and confirmed a heart attack and had her taken by ambulance to the hospital for further testing. We scrambled out of San Antonio and headed the 10 hour drive to Oklahoma and were lucky enough to get to spend Friday and Saturday morning with her before she suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away with us by her side at 5:43pm. My heart just broke for my husband who also lost his Dad 16 years ago. We spent the week up there with funeral arrangements, funeral and helping his sister as much as we could get the house cleaned out and things shut off. So final! Put's everything into perspective though and makes me realize not to sweat the small stuff but to enjoy and live each day.

Wishing you all health and happiness!

Today I have to clean some things out of the basement so there should be lots of steps. Our son might move home to finish up his last school year. He hasn't decided yet but I am starting to move things around and clean up just in case.

Hey anything we do that has us moving more then usual is a plus! I have been trying to take the dog on the longer loops when we walk in the evening instead of just up and around to get the mail. I like the idea of throwing in some stairs Neraus-excellent for the legs and glutes :) Take care and do an extra set of stairs for me. TTYL

My exercises are not very inspiring. I walk and I go up and down my basement stairs. I am just trying to move because I have been so sedentary the last year.

You will have to let me know what you think of the minimalist shoes if you get some. I have yet to even go looking for some new sneakers yet-also have yet to put my fanny back at the gym. I made a deal with myself that if I didn't go at least 7 times a month then I would cancel the membership. That means I better kick it into gear soon or cancel :( I'm thinking about going to the doctor and just making sure all my hormones and thyroid are doing ok as I've been so dang tired this past 3 weeks or so with brain fog and hair falling out more then what is normal. Stinking aging!!

Take care and let me know what you did for exercise this week-maybe it will inspire me :)

Shoes continue to be an issue. I can't seem to find any that fit quite right. Now I am doing research on minimalist shoes because there are lots of people who think the modern athletic shoe is wrecking our feet. All I know is supportive or not supportive they are really expensive. I can't keep buying shoes that don't work for me. I will get it figured out sooner or later.

That's a good plan Neraus! I have 0 excuses as even when I can't make it to the gym I have plenty of equipment and a Total Gym w/DVD's so use at the house. I need to get back to it as I do like the feeling of accomplishment after I'm done-its the convincing myself to go that's the problem. :) Did you get your new shoes? I'm going to go purchase some new sneakers soon as I don't think I'm getting the support I should in the one's I have-probably too many miles on them which is a good thing (except I have had these 3 or 4 years) LOL Take care and keep up the great job on your workouts!

I did get my walk in. I exercised 3 days in a row then the work week took over and I did squat. Hubbys job is changing and I will be back to getting home and having the house to myself for about an hour. I need to start making that my exercise time.

Toni where the heck are you hiding? Hope all is well and that you are just busy.

Neraus-did you go out and get that walk in?

My sister came over again last weekend and plans to make the walk/swimming a regular Saturday morning thing. My boys are at Gen Con now and hubby sent a pic of all the people waiting for the doors to open-man its packed!! I have had a rough work week with training and all my regular work and have been getting home closer to 7:00pm so no gym time for me this week and I have been eating poorly to boot! I weighed this morning and was relieved to see I had not gained any weight but sure have not lost any in weeks either. I know my age and food intake is to blame. Still need to make cut backs and portion control. Since the end of May I'm down 8lbs so I'm not going to be too hard on myself but I don't want to plateau already.

Everyone take care and get in those extra steps whenever you can and I will too! TTYL

Your day with your sister and then your mom sounds like a lot of fun. I usually exercise alone as my sister lives too far away. It is pretty hot and humid here this weekend but I plan to get out this morning for a walk. Just waiting for my body to wake up a bit more. LOL!!!

Oh yikes!! After 16 years in Oklahoma I got use to the alarms sounding and grabbing kids, pets and pillows and having a sleep session in the closet under the stairs! I love a good storm with lots of thunder and lightning but tornado's I can live without.

Did 2 days at the pool again this weekend. My sister came over 8:30am and we went to the new trail and walked 2.5 miles and then went right to the pool where we swam and exercised for another hour. My Dad then brought my Mom over and the 3 of us went for Pedicures and out for a salad for lunch (full disclosure-we also split a raspberry cream cheese croissant) emoticon

Tonight is Zumba and I am going to force myself to go even thought its only 2:30pm and I've thought of 10 reasons to bail. It is a weird time spot from 6:30-7:30pm right in that should be making or eating super window of the evening. I'm not really hungry before class and then after class, travel home and cooking dinner - it means eating at 8:00 or 8:15. I need to make Tuesday and Thursday crock pot nights.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your hubby to find a great job Neraus! In the meantime please take care of yourself. TTYL

I would love access to a pool but that only way to get that is to join a gym. Just not a good time for that.

Had a big storm move through last night. Got woken up so watched the weather news on tv with the hubby. Once we were pretty much through the worst of it I went back to bed. I really don't care for storms. Just heavy rains for us but there was a tornado touch down in the area.

I will keep you in my prayers for the right job to come along for your husband.

This will be the 3rd year the boys attend Gen Con and they always come home with many treasures and fun stories about the things they did and the things they saw. Seems like everyone just gets along well and games just spring up all over the place. I will shop like crazy when I go see my daughter and I know we will also eat out (plan on making somewhat healthy choices with the occasional vacation treat). We are already signed up for a 5K when I'm there so that will help a little :)

I have not been very good over the last week with getting my workouts in (I was sick with a stomach bug for 2 days) but I did get to the neighborhood pool this past weekend and swam some laps and got in 20 minutes of water exercises too.

Take care and keep in touch!

Glad that you are making such good strides in exercise and eating. Me not as much. I can manage a walk most evenings but my eating isn't good yet.

No the hubby has had no luck yet finding a new job. The 4th of july week kind of put things on hold but now hoping something will turn up. My hubby and his friends use to go to Gen Con. It use to be held in Milwaukee and they went every year. When it moved to Indianapolis I think they have been once.

Oh Neraus-so sorry to hear about your hubby getting laid off. I work in the Oil industry and its been a rough year for us too-we laid off 46 people out of 400 (and this was just our field locations). I hated it! I made the cut but watched many get walked out that I had onboarded-very sad day :( Has he had any luck job hunting?

Glad you had a nice vacation. I am going to be purchasing my airline ticket soon to go see my daughter for her 28th birthday in September! My hubby and son (who is turning 25 this coming weekend) are doing a father/son trip to Indianapolis at the end of this month for the Gen Con convention. It's good to have that one on one time with our kids and its extra special now because time is limited with them all grown up now.

I'm hanging in there with my workouts and getting a little stronger. I still have to talk myself into it most days-my nature is to go home, take my shoes off and veg on the couch. I always feel better afterwards but before and during are different stories. Currently I am working out 4 days a week and I will need to bump that up to 6 eventually. I also need to do much better with my food intake and the quality of the calories I'm taking in. I purchased a Ninja blender/processor and I have been making some delicious smoothies (spinach, carrots, blueberries and pinnapple with milk) was todays breakfast. When I do not have time to make a smoothie I purchased the high protein Ensure drinks - chocolate and have that for breakfast and they are only 160 calories so actually a lighter calorie meal over the smoothie. I pour the drink over ice and sip it over 30 minutes and it really does hold me over until lunch.

Hope you both had a wonderful 4th of July! Let's buckle down now that we are 1/2 way through 2015 and see how much we can accomplish by Christmas. Remember just move a little more and eat a little less each week and we will find our happy weight. Take care and remember I'm thinking of you and sending you all the best.

I did find a suit top but it cost $30 which I thought was a bit much. My vacation was a blast but I came home to find out my hubby had been laid off while I was gone. It wasn't expected at all so that kind of sucked the fun out of my last day of vacation. Trying to exercise but my feet hurt. I think I just have to get use to being on my feet again and strengthen all those muscles. But until that happens yowser not happy feet.

Yes Neraus I think I would pass on the granny swimsuit too! I purchased a new suit back in April for our October cruise and I bought it 2 sizes too small for what I was currently weighing to give me that extra incentive. I also purchased a cover up and cute "walking the deck" dress and both are smaller and waiting for me :)

I can't wait for the Zumba to not feel so long! I start looking at the clock at about 15 minutes in and its a 1 hour class!! I stay with it and each time I think I get a little better-building back up my cardio capacity. Tonight is body pump and I'm going to add to the weight a little on my arms but stick to the light weights for the lunges/squats as I can never get through all the rounds for those (they do 3 rounds). I figure once I can do all the rounds and my legs have built up some strength I will add weights then. emoticon

I hope you all are having a good week and Neraus, hope you found that swimsuit and are enjoying your vacation-tell us all about it!

Toni-hope you are doing ok and getting in those bike rides and walks-your fitness minutes look good emoticon TTYL

Way to go on the exercise. I do like the phrase not falling off me but not falling on me. LOL!!! Today I find some thing to wear at the pool come heck or high water. We leave Tuesday. I was looking at Target's website and there is a really odd new look. They call them high waisted swim pants but they look like granny panties. Then they pair that with a bikini top that looks like a bra. So the whole thing looks like you are wearing your underwear to the pool. I think I will pass on that. LOL!!!

I could not agree more on the cloths! The swimsuits are mostly granny style and make the too thin for plus size models even look big!

Neraus I hope you have some miles on those new shoes :) I need to be getting a new pair of sneakers soon too.

Toni good for you on getting some of your house projects done-considering your work hours that has to be difficult to squeeze in. How are you doing on your exercise?

I am proud to say I finally get to move my ticker-weight is coming down nicely-its not falling off me but it didn't fall on me either - LOL I have been going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week and walking the dog everyday (some days its short, like 1/4 mile-other days a mile). I would have gone to the gym more but last Thursday I took a vacation day and went to our neighborhood pool before the schools are out for summer. Had the whole thing to myself and stayed 4 hours exercising and playing in the pool and floating on my boogie board-picked up a nice sunburn on the forehead and back so pulling on a sports bra and going to the gym was NOT in the cards for several days :( I'm back to it this week and have gone to both my Zumba days and will go on Saturday for bodypump and my 40 minutes on the elliptical (I am adding minutes each week and upping the intensity).

Wishing you both a healthy, relaxing and fun weekend-let's all report on Monday what and how much exercise we get in and how we did on our food as well (its the weekend so we can work in a special treat) :) TTYL

Good Morning,
Long week so far and getting longer.... Very busy at work with not time to think.
Neraus I agree with you on the clothes. I dislike clothes shopping so much. What really irritates me is when they are selling plus size clothes, but advertising them on skinny models. Show me what that thing is going to look like on my fat body not some toothpick!

Enjoy the rest of the week! Lets get out and get moving.

No the shoes are still sitting by the door mocking me. I have been trying to find a swimsuit since I am going to a resort next week. Being fat in America is apparently a crime. You are sentenced to wear ugly clothes and pay a fortune for the privilege.

Good Monday Morning!
Hope you guys had a great weekend. I got some stuff done around the house, but not near as much as I wanted to. I took my granddaughter clothes shopping yesterday. That was a day in itself...LOL she is 9 going on 15.

Neraus did you get a chance to break in those new shoes?

Kerrie how are those work outs going? I am going to try to add more on this week.

Have a great day and week!

Good Morning!
Weekend already. I have no idea where the time goes. Weather here is intermittent to say the least. One day it is 90 and the next 68. Rain came back with a vengeance yesterday. nI have not seen a down pour like that in a long time. Lasted a long time too. But seem to clear up and the sun back out when it was time for me to ride my bike home. It was really nice. The rain makes everything feel so clean and fresh.

Way to go Kerrie! emoticon I wish I could put up a list on exercise like that on my post. emoticon Keep posting your progress, as that is a huge motivator for me.

Neraus I have the same issues with the sweet, salty, crunchy things. emoticon
For a couple of weeks now I have been craving something and can not figure out what it is. That drives me crazy, cause I find myself eating more trying to satisfy it. When I know that if I just eat it, then I will be good.

I did buy a bunch of fresh fruit this week. It all just looked and smelled so good. I love to snack on watermelon, cantaloupe, and grapes.

Have a wonderful weekend all! I will go into work for a little while tomorrow, but other than that, hoping to get more stuff done around the house and get my granddaughter some clothes for summer.

I'm proud of you both! Baby steps in the healthy direction is all we can ask of ourselves as we create a lifestyle we can maintain. I for one cannot maintain a diet that says I can never have sweet tea (or dr. pepper) or a dessert-but I can cut back and move a little more each week.

I have gone to 3 bodypump 1 hour classes, 2 Zumba 1 hour classes and did 1 1/2 hour on the elliptical in the last 10 days and dropped 3 lbs. I still can't move my ticker though as I'd gained from my weight setting, but I hope to move that sucker soon! I will attend 30 minute bodypump/30 minute CRX (bands) class tonight and will try and get in 20 minutes on the row machine (I love the workout on that rower).

I took tomorrow as a vacation day (mental health) and its going to be so nice here weather wise (in the upper 80's) that I will pack some fruit and water and spend a couple hours at the neighborhood pool doing my water exercises, laps and enjoying the sunshine (slathered in 50 spf). :)

You both keep up those walks/bike rides and all three of us are going to move those tickers soon! We will celebrate with a virtual high 5 and some fruit with fat free whipped cream, LOL

My low carb experiment worked for about 2 days then I was back at it. Man I love anything sweet and chewy or salty or crunchy. Sigh!!! Baby steps first two days next week maybe three days.

Good Morning!
Been a long week for a short week. LOL
Weather has been great here for this past week after all the rain. I was able to get out and do my walks and ride my bike all week. Tire went flat yesterday on the way to work....couldn't figure out why it was so difficult to pedal, thought must be having one of those days where my legs don't want to work, was glad to find out that I was just getting in an extra hard work out..LOL

Neraus I like making the turkey roll ups too. They are great snacks. High in protein, low carb.
I like to roll them up with cream cheese and pickle too. Those are really good.

Another great low carb meal is turkey tacos. Use romaine lettuce for your shell. They are so good. I never missed the shell and I really thought I would.

Have to go into work for a few hours this morning, then get stuff done around the house and going to a Reno Aces baseball game tonight. Should be a good game.
Tomorrow will be my rest day.

Have a wonderful weekend!

We went walking in a sculpture park Saturday that had some hills. My calf muscles are very tight still. I am also trying to go a bit more low carb. Breakfast was turkey and cheese roll ups. Nothing fancy just take a piece of deli turkey and roll it together with a piece of cheese. LOL!!! Plus I didn't buy potato chips at the store when I went grocery shopping yesterday. They had my favorite kind on sale which made it tough to walk right by them. But I love to drink tea with sugar so that is what I am going to try to make as my only or main source of carbs. Don't tell me to drink it with out or use honey or some fake sweetners. I have tried all of that and didn't like it. I figure I get one treat and my sweet tea is mine. LOL!!!

Good Morning!
Happy Memorial Day to you all!

I think the rain is finally gone for a while. I have got in my walks and bike rides to work when I could, but the rain has really put a damper on the daily routine. I should have been doing the TM or Walk videos instead, but I still can not get my energy levels up. I am so dang tired all of the time. I know the weather has a lot to do with it and the fact that I need to get this weight off and I know the more I move the more energy I will get, I just cant seem to get to the that point. I really need a good push to make me do this, not matter how tired I am. Everyday I tell myself that I am going to do this, then every night I am going to bed, disappointed in myself for not doing it.
Maybe I will go to the doctor and talk to her about what is going on. Maybe she can make some suggestions on how to increase my energy level or find out why I am so dang tired all the time.
OK Enough complaining..........

Have a wonderful day!

Toni

Hello all-sorry I have been MIA

I joined the YMCA on Friday and today was my first day to attend. I did a 1 hour bodypump class and then did 30 minutes on the elliptical. I can tell you that without a doubt I will be very sore tomorrow! I used light weights and even then had to put them down sometimes and I would just keep moving until I could join back in. I will go again on Monday. My plan is to take 4 or 5 classes a week with one of them being yoga for flexibility. For some reason I do better with my eating when I'm exercising probably because I don't want to undue all that hard work :)

Tomorrow we are having some friends over that we met on our cruise last year and I'm making my baby back ribs which are yummy! I think they might book the same cruise we are taking in October which would be so cool. Last year we were on the ship that they thought had a lady with Ebola so we got this cruise at 1/2 off so we got the corner room with the wrap around balcony, the sunsets and views will be amazing! Let's see if I can get some weight off by then and feel a little more confident in my swimwear. Don't get me wrong-I'm to the point in my life where I am fully ok with myself and will not miss out on snorkeling or swimming at the beach because of my size but I know I will be able to be more active if I were in shape.

Hope you both have a great, relaxing and fun filled Memorial Day Weekend! Keep those feet moving and those smiles on your faces-life is short my friends.

I got a good walk in with my son and hubby on sunday. But the shoes I bought at Target do not have enough cushioning on the balls of my feet. So my feet really hurt. So I am going to find some different ones over the weekend.

Good Morning!
Hope you had a good weekend? I did some things around the house, but mostly sat around too much. Got a good start on getting my office cleaned up. Still have a few more things that need to be done, but it looks and feels much better already.
I really had a hard time finding any energy this weekend. I was so tired. All I wanted to do was nap. Then I would want to get up and go do something, but with the weather so wacky did not get outside much.
I look forward to Monday because then I have to go to work and be productive. No sitting around. I will be walking today as the temps are a little to low for the bike. That and it is suppose to rain all week in the afternoons. Much easier to walk in the rain than bike.
I will take my umbrella.

Have a Marvelous Monday!

Yea we got rain this week too. I was unable to walk or bike to work on Thursday or Friday, I did still get in the walks with the girls in the mornings as it was not raining at that time.
Was suppose to go to the Reno Ace,s baseball game last night. Made the walk almost all the way to the gate in the rain to hear them call the game due to the rain. I was hoping it was going to let up so they could play. At least we got in a good walk...LOL Will be able to get tickets to another game due to the rain out. Hoping to get my office cleaned out and organized this weekend, want to get in some exercise as well.
I really wish the weather would figure out what it wants to do. One day the sun is shining and it is perfect temps and all I want to do is get out and move. (I eat less on these days as well) then the next day the wind is blowing it is raining and it is cold cold cold. I tend to eat more on these days. Not sure why, nothing else to do but eat? comforting? I really need to get a handle on my eating patterns.
Maybe I will start a journal and note things that happen during the day, and what I ate and see how it is in relation to each other.

Have a fantastic weekend!!!! Lets vow to get in some sort of exercise no matter how much or little.

I too have a hard time exercising after work. Weekends I get in some good walks so I have to just look at that as the one positive right now. We are suppose to have rain again this weekend so not sure how or when I will exercise tonight.

Good Morning!

I guess that is one way to get in a walk. hahaha Just kidding. I am glad everything worked out ok and the car was not stolen. What an experience that would be.

Sorry I have not checked in for a while. Been busy trying to take care of some things. I need to make this a regular thing. The best tool I had last time when I lost all the weight was you guys and your support.
I am doing better on the exercise, but need to do more. I need to be able to cut my hours down at work and do more in the evening. After working 10-12 hours everyday, when I get home I sit down and then only get up to go to bed. Thank goodness for having to climb the stairs all day at work and the bike ride home.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Monday is done and it is all down hill from here.

Okay my walking on Friday took an extra long bit. We came out of the convention center and walked three blocks back to our car to find it gone. Well after one minute of anxiety that it was stolen discovered instead it had been towed. We called the number and found the address to the impound lot. So after a 2.1 mile walk in not the best part of town and paying $138 to get the car back we were finally on our way home. I have never been to an impound lot before and I can say while not the worst experience in my life I DO NOT EVER WANT TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN!!!!!!

Good Morning!

Sounds like you all are keeping busy. Same here. Still walking to and from work. My feet are really hurting this morning for some reason. I will most likely get on my bike this morning. First ride to work is always the hardest as it is all up hill. I will need to get on the treadmill in the mornings and take the girls for longer walks in the evening or visa versa to get in my steps. I will have to see how the tracker does tracking my bike ride.

Have a great hump day! it is all down hill from here.

Hey guys!! Sorry I have been MIA-seems to have been crazy few weeks for all of us.

I have had two weekends in a row of family parties at my house and boy its work to get ready for it and more work to clean up from it. Then I had two days of training in downtown San Antonio (traffic was terrible), followed by my Mom being taken by ambulance to the hospital where they kept her for 3 days (turns out a bad reaction to new diabetes meds). I am ready for some slow down!

Have not weighed myself or been very good about my food intake or exercise either. I have got to start making myself a priority here and then I can be there better for others. Please take care and I will be better of checking in.

Good Morning!

Just checking in. Had a good week. Not so good on the exercise and nutrition but a good week at work. This week I am going to vow to move more. Even if it is to go for short 10 minute walks every couple hours, I am going to make a goal to reach 10,000 steps.

Way to go on the walks Neraus! I only did the walks with the girls in the evenings and Claudias hips are really bothering her, so she can not go as far anymore. It is really sad because she loves her walks so much.

Kerrie, where are you hiding out at? How are the invisalines working. I am sure your mouth is sore. Hope everything is going good for you.

Have a great week all! I will try to pop in more often through out the week.

Well I have been for two walks so far this week. One outside that really tired me out and one inside on the treadmill. I just ate so much comfort food when I was sick and I packed on even more weight. My jeans are almost too small and I refuse to buy a bigger pair.

Good Morning!
I am glad you are feeling better Neraus. Nothing like being sick for a long period to wear you down.
I am thinking about going to the doctor and see what is up with me. Maybe effects of being sick, but I am so dang tired all the time and can not get the energy to do the things I need to do. And I dont know if it is the wacky weather we have, cold one day warm the next then back to cold, but I seem to be hungry all the time. Making it really hard to get control of my nutrition and fitness. I make myself go for walks, but still really tired.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a Happy Easter. I was sick with the flu or possibly mild case of food poisoning, but still had a good time with my granddaughter.

Kerrie, how are the teeth feeling? Im sure your mouth is a little sore now?

The trip to spring training was good. Could have been better but it was good to get away for a couple days. Got in a good amount of walking. Would have liked to get more. I really wanted to get out and do some hiking and see the scenery, but the people we were with insisted on going indoors to museums. If I was able I would stay behind and go for a walk.
Feeling better this morning, stomach a little queasy still, but plan on getting back on the TM this morning. Got to get back into a normal routine.

Have a great day!

Well sorry to hear you are both feeling sick-do you think its spring allergies or a bug?

I did get in my long walk with Skye on Saturday but then we all loaded up and went shooting together for 3 hours so I did not get in my Total Gym workout. On Sunday Skye and I had activity at the house playing and up and down stairs while I did my cleaning but we did not get out on a walk. I did get in a nice nap and finished my book while enjoying my Heinekin Light on the back deck :)

On Thursday we leave for 4 days in Missouri to visit my daughter for Easter-it will be good to see her since I have not seen her since Christmas (we do talk almost everyday on the phone). Today I go get my trays for the Invisalign so I will let you guys know how the pressure is when I wear them and like I've mentioned that will limit my snacking and I will only be drinking water throughout the day.

Take care all and have a good day!

Good Monday Morning to all.
Hope you had a good weekend? I have been sick and not got any exercise except the walk with the girls. So congested. Hoping I feel better tomorrow when we get on the plane. Not looking forward to being sick on vacation..... Figures, I finally take a vacation and I get sick for it. LOL
Neraus sorry to hear you are not feeling well either.
Kerrie way to go on the longer walks and total gym work outs. Keep up the good work, it will pay off in the end.
Have a great day all!

That's one of the reasons I love going on a cruise-no cell phones or wifi so we are completly removed from everything. I don't even think about work until the night before I go back :)

Still no drop on the scale but its the intake of food I'm sure and my slower metabolism does not help either. I will begin tracking this Sunday and see how much I'm going over the recommended 1,600.

Weather should be nice this weekend and I intend on taking Skye for long walks on both days and getting in my Total Gym workouts as well (one day legs/one day arms).

Take care everyone and have a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning!
It is Friday Yeah! Was not feeling well yesterday and did not get in any exercise except a short walk with the girls. Feeling better this morning,
Will be a long weekend. Have company coming in Saturday night and staying until Monday morning, then will meet up with them in Scottsdale AZ on Tuesday. Going to Spring Training next week for a few days. It will be nice to be away from work for a few days, but I find myself stressing over the work that needs to be done and wont be done while I am gone and will need to be done when I return. Wish I could learn to relax and let go of work like everyone else does. LOL
Have a Fantastic Friday !

Great job Toni! Your walks and cutting back are paying off in the loser cloths, that is HUGE!! Keep up the great job! I need to start tracking my food as I know I'm probably going into the 2000 a day range and that won't cut it if I want to drop any weight.

Neraus-the bread thing-totally with you on that! Warm bread with cold butter=yummy! But you have to be proud of yourself if you have avoided the candy this past week and sounds like you got in some good exercise over the weekend too- emoticon

I am enjoying The Total Gym. I have still been walking the dog and try to go further on some of the days. I wish I was a morning person and could get up and do 20-30 minutes each moring but man I have a tendancy to just reset the alarm and go back to sleep :( So mini goal for me is to start tracking my food honestly and then I can evaluate where I need to make changes and cut back-there will be ALOT of cutting back I'm sure. Next Monday I go and get my first set of Invisalign and I'm excited!! They pulled the tooth 3 weeks ago on the bottom front and its been wierd walking around with a gap. The dentist says in 3 months time the gap will hardly be noticable and I will have the trays for a total of 9 to 10 months. Since I cannot drink anything but water with the trays in that will help with the soda issue and I will also not be able to chew gum or snack easily as I would have to remove the trays and then brush my teeth before putting the trays back in-too much trouble I'm hoping and think that will help me scale back my nibbles throughout the day.

Hope everyone is off to a good week-keep in touch and keep those walks and sit ups going

emoticon emoticon

Good Morning!
We made it through Monday, all down hill from here emoticon

I know exactly what you mean about the bread Neraus. That too is one of my biggest down falls. I love my bread. Way to go on the walk! Every step taken is a step closer to our goals.

How are things going for you Kerrie? How that total gym working for you? I need to get mor more ST,

I have got on the TM every morning now. I am loving the way it starts my day. I am starting to remember how much I loved the feeling of a good workout. Still going for a walk everyday after work as well. Still not seeing any changes on the scale, but can feel my clothes fitting a little bit better. I am really concentrating on portion control this week. That is something that has gotten away from me. Tracking my food really helps me on that.

Have a Terrific Tuesday

Talked to some friends who have made some serious dietary changes over the last month. Not sure I an go cold turkey like they did but they had some things I could work in to my diet that should help. But it seems at my age bread is a major no no and I just can't seem to give it up. But I did go for a walk in the cold with hills(big ones) over the weekend. So yeah me!!!! LOL!!!

Good Morning!
Sounds like the week is going well for everyone.
I agree Kerrie, we definitely need to keep up the communication and support. You girls got me through it last time and I know we can help each other again.
I have been doing good this week as well. Still not seeing it in the numbers on the scale, but I can feel the pants starting to loosen up a bit, so that is good. I over did on the corned beef and cabbage last night. It just tasted so good. This was the best slab of corned beef I have ever bought. Melted in your mouth.
I did start logging my food again this week. going a little over still but working out the portion control again.
Right now I am gradually increasing my TM time each morning. I too need to start throwing a walk in in the middle of the day. I will have to start taking walks at work, even if just for 15 minutes.
Have a great Hump Day. We are getting closer to the weekend, What is going to be our challenge this weekend?

Toni-wow you have a great plan with the workouts and packing lunches ahead of time! Are you getting in all you wanted so far this week?

Neraus-you notice my ticker has not moved off of the 0lbs lost :( I have been cutting back but have a long way to go with my eating routine. I did get in 3 Total Gym workouts last week and 4 days of walking with Skye. Now I need to stick with the 3 Gym workouts and go further on my walks or take the 15 minutes on break at work and walk 2xs a day.

Anniversary was nice-our gift to each other was a huge gun safe! What does it mean for a relationship when the gift has to do with guns??? LOL

Take care my friends and lets keep up the communication and support-love our quick chats. TTYS

Good Morning.
Start of another great week. emoticon
Happy Anniversary! Hope you had a great day.
I will be logging all of my food starting today. That always made me aware of how much I was eating. I am going to pre package my snack and lunches for the week. Going to do some heavy house cleaning today as well. Time to clean the carpets and scrub the floors. Going to toss in some exercise as well. Get on the TM, take the girls for a walk, and maybe do some ST. Hope you all have a great day!

The only thing I found that works for snoring (my husbands) is me wearing earplugs :)

Had a good week this week. I have been eating less at each meal, making better selections at restaurants (lettuce wraps over lemon chicken w/fried rice and egg roll) and used my Total gym 3 times so far this week! I am going to take Skye on a nice long walk this weekend too - I plan on going 3 to 4 miles but will let you know what it ends up.

Dentist went well-down one tooth if not any weight-LOL I will go in on the 30th of this month to get the supports attached and my first set of trays for the Invisalign. So lets see what 9 months can do for my body while my teeth are getting all prettied up.

I too need to be more consistant on logging in and documenting my ups and downs and getting your much needed support and encouragement. I am making it a goal to log into this thread 3X's a week. TTYL have a wonderful weekend-tomorrow is my 28th wedding anniversary so I'll be having a great one!! Take care and keep up the great job!

It has warmed up quite a bit. the strips didn't work so far. We had some in the medicine cabinet but they wouldn't stick so I was going to buy some new ones. Neither my hubby or I could remember how long we had the other ones. LOL!!

Good Morning!
Week is almost done. I have done better in both exercise and nutrition this week. Still need to work on the nutrition even more. The exercise is feeling good. Remembering how great I felt when I was exercising all the time.
Hope you are having a good week. Whats the plan for the weekend?

Good Morning
Sorry I didn't post much last week. Busy as usual. Got in some good strides last week. Got out and walked everyday. Plus with the great weather this weekend, Me and my granddaughter got out and rode bikes both days. Doing a little better food wise, but still doing bad. I really need to get it together there.

Kerrie I am sorry to hear about the lay offs. I am glad you made it through, though it is never easy letting someone go. How did it go at the dentist?

Neraus hope the weather is getting a little better for you. I was in MN last February for my best friends memorial service and it was COLD. below 0 the whole time.
How did the breath right strips work for you?

Hope everyone has a wonderful week. I will try to post more this week. It keeps me accountable. My goal/challenge this week is to get in even more walking. Either outdoors or on the TM.

Sorry to hear about the job layoffs that is never good situation. I hope you can get caught up in your work.

Good morning all!! Sorry I was MIA last week-we are having layoffs where I work (oil and gas industry) and I was not sure I'd make the cut! Ended up keeping my job but as a member of the HR team had to assist with the layoffs-horrible feeling! I was bummed all week and of course with the 2 days of that going on it gets one behind on thier normal work too. This week I will be playing catch up :) I hope to catch up on my normal work hours though and not that 4:00am like Toni did!

I have not been doing well either with you food or exercise but I did order the Total Gym last weekend and should be getting it today or tomorrow. I ordered off of QVC and it comes with many of the attachments and 4 DVD's so that will be my workout challenge over the next month or so. I have to do better with my calorie intake at the same time or I'm really not doing myself any favors. Why does bad food have to taste so darn good???

I also go to the dentist today and see what the Invisalign will cost me. I am having a bottom front tooth pulled and then Invisalign over the next 12-18 months to straighten all my teeth. The plus is I cannot just munch food whenever I feel like it as I will need to remove the trays, eat and then brush my teeth before putting the trays back in. So getting my teeth pretty might finally be what kicks me into gear.

Hope you are all well and keeping warm. This coming weekend we spring forward so I hope spring comes with it!! I'm ready for some warmer weather and getting outside more. Take care all and I'll talk to you all soon. Have a great week.

Good Morning!
Happy Monday to you all! Hope everyone is doing well?
We actually got some snow this weekend. Have not seen much of that this year. We really have not had a winter to speak of at all in fact. It was nice to see.
My back is doing much better. Little soar in the mornings, but the more I move around the better it feels. Got is a couple good walks this weekend with the girls and even got on the TM yesterday. Saturdays walk was a cold one with the snow and wind. I need to go get a new pair of shoes, mine the bottom soles are pretty thin and the balls of my feet really start hurting after a while.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Lets start this week out right.

Good Morning,
This has not been a good week for exercise. My lower back is killing me. I thought I might have a kidney infection with the way the pain is, but doctor said everything looks good. Thought maybe I might be starting to get a urinary track infection. I did not want to spend the extra money and time to run more tests. I told him I will just wait it out and see if it goes away. He gave me some antibiotics to take if it does not go away or worsens.
I honestly do not remember straining it or doing anything to strain it, but maybe that is what it is. But the pain is in the kidney area.
What ever it is it is annoying. The more I move around the better it feels. So I try not to sit to much at work. Making it hard to get things done....LOL
Other than that the week is good. We are half way through it now.

First day of the work week for me today. Yesterday was a 4 hours spent in the car round trip driving to a funeral. If the weather had been nicer I would have stopped at some stores and tried to have fun. But was cold and very windy so just came straight home.

Good Morning!
Another Monday, here we go. Once we make it through Monday it is all down hill from there.
I am sorry to hear about your friends loss. House cleaning definitely counts. I like to put my music on and dance around while I am cleaning house. Makes it funner too. :-)
I got out and took the girls for extra walks both Saturday and Sunday.
Did a lot of walking on Saturday with the shopping and all as well. I try to make sure that even if we are shopping that I walk at a fast pace. Had to pay bills and do taxes yesterday so did not get in as many steps, but did some dancing around with my grand daughter as well.
All in all it was an OK weekend with the exercise. I will get better, I have to.

Have a Wonderful Day All!

I too have to head in to work today. Not quite as early as you thankfully. LOL!!! Had some vacation that put me behind and now a coworker I am close to lost her father. So tomorrow is the funeral but it is so far away I will miss the whole day of work.

I did some house cleaning yesterday that should count as exercise. Too bad it was followed by a birthday party and lots of not the best food choices. Some of the left overs will be going to work.

Good Morning,
Sounds like a familiar story Neraus! I too gained my weight back and am having a hard time getting back into a routine to get it off again. It is true what they say the older you get the harder it is to get it off.

I failed miserably on the challenge this week. So much going on and even longer days at work if that is possible. Been training a girl there the last few weeks and it is getting exhausting. She is a great gal and fun to have in the office, but she is just not getting it and it is putting me so behind on all my work. I have to go into work this morning to try and get caught up. I will go in really early so I can get out and still have the day to spend with my hubby. Will head in around 4:00 am to get it done. I am hoping to be able to go for a walk or hike this weekend.

Hope you all have a great Saturday. I need to come up with a challenge that is doable for me right now so that I know I can do it and feel good about completing it and then make each challenge a little more each time. Man I hate this starting from square one again.

Good Morning!
Another day closer to the weekend! Hope your week is going well so far.

Tuesday report.
completed the knee lifts, wall squats and push ups. Did not get in deliberate cardio or jumping jacks. Had to run errands after work and was late when got home. Did make sure to make my steps fast while out running around. Got in quite a few extra steps.

Will work on getting it all complete today.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday.

Oh I like that challenge Toni! I'm in for sure. I failed too on my own challenge for the weekend :( I did walk about 3 miles total but did not do the strength as I planned that for Sunday and then went and strained my back when I did my pantry clean out (emptied it completly and threw out all expired items, wiped the shelves and organized better). Its nothing that won't feel better in a matter of days but Sunday and this morning I'm walkling like an old woman! I will not let it deter me from this weeks challenge as I can do 11 of everything and for my 11 minutes of cardio I'm going to walk Skye further then usual as just doing the regular walk is 20 minutes and I want to increase my time with this challenge.

Funny story with your cat Neraus!! I do feel like our cats are super smart and mess with us from time to time-but maybe she really was seeing something we can't-one never knows???

Let's get this Monday started and the work portion over with, I'm already ready for the weekend :) TTYL

Good Morning!
Neraus so good to see you! How have you been?

I failed on the challenge, but got in other exercise instead. Still not enough. I did not get in the whole 5 miles walking this weekend, but it was such a nice weekend, we played at the park, and my grand daughter wanted to go for a bike ride, so we did that yesterday instead of a walk. It was a good ride, we rode from my house to theirs and around the neighborhood. She can really keep going :-). I got in most of the ST. I will do better on the next one. Speaking of the next one. I saw this work out, challenge,(the original actually starts out at 99 and works down, but I thought we could do it this way?

Monday we will do:
11 Jumping Jacks
11 Crunches
11 Second wall sit
11 Knee lifts
11 minute cardio (walking, running, elliptical or bike) - this is a minimum, can always do more cardio
1 Push up

Tuesday it goes up to 22 each and 2 push ups
Wednesday increase to 33 and 3
Thursday 44 and 4
Friday 55 and 5.

Have a great Monday!

Hey guys. On pet's "seeing" things that aren't there my cat once went nuts starting at this spot at the foot of the stairs. Wouldn't let me comfort him or anything. then whatever it was must have moved because he stared a different spot. It all lasted about 20 minutes then everything was fine with the cat. My dog was there too but he didn't seem to notice anything. So maybe the cat was just messing with me. LOL!!!
