I am doing bad as far as food and exercise. I eat what I want and don't really exercise. I just can't get in to it. Like today I come home from work and the minute I step in to the house I feel like all my energy is just drained away. I don't want to do anything but sit and watch tv. I just don't know how to motivate myself. What use to work doesn't anymore and I can't find anything new to use. It's crazy and I get so angry with myself for not doing more with my time then sitting and watching tv. I am better for a week or so then boom no energy and 2 weeks of couch sitting. I would love to have some kid free pool time. I loved the pool when I belonged to a gym but hated when the kids were in it. Yes my son is still living at home and that won't changed until maybe this summer if he get a job after he graduates.

Well sorry to hear you had a bad day-hope since then things have improved! I have been getting into some bad habits with too much time on my hands without a job. I was doing great until Christmas but have slowed down since. I have a bad habit now of staying up until 1:30am or later each night, then I wake up at 7:15am and let the dog out, eat breakfast, talk to hubby while he is getting ready for work and after he leaves I go back to sleep on the couch from 8:30am to 10:30am :( It's no good and I need to get a better more livable routine down. If I can get to sleep by midnight I could then just get up and get ready and go to the gym as my husband is going to work-that would start my day off on the right note. Would put me in a better frame of mind to eat well and to also keep going with some of these projects I need to finish up before I go back to work. I have had 3 interviews but no offers which for now is exactly what I want. Selfishly I'd like to be off until June to enjoy some kid free pool time at our neighborhood pool. Since I am in San Antonio it is almost warm enough for swimming - I think 2 or 3 more weeks and I'll be there getting in my laps and aerobics time :)

Hope you are doing well and getting in some stress relieving exercise time. Is your son still living with you? Keep in touch TTYL

Bad day at work today. Coworkers who think they can just treat other coworkers like dirt. I am kind of tired of the human race today.

Well you have to think of the good people you help and not the grumpy ones (who maybe when they are not in pain are pretty nice people).

My normal days where I don't move as much I usually clock in about 2.5 miles. I really need to start doing more strength training as they say getting close to 50 really requires building muscle to keep the metabolic rate humming. Also need to work on stretching/yoga more often to keep the balance issues at bay too.

Of course all the working out in the world will not help until I change my diet more. I will always have treats here and there but I need to watch my daily totals and make room once or twice a week for treats. :)

Stay warm up there and we will talk soon.

4 miles is pretty good. I think my all in fitbit total is about 1.8 miles a day.

Yes I work for a company that sells durable medical equipment and my job is to bill it to the state medicaid office. That part isn't too bad but the other part of my job is dealing with customers who call in with questions. That part I really dislike. I had a 20 minute conversation with a women yesterday answering all of her questions. She was actually quite nice and said I had the sweetest voice. LOL!!!

Oh wow Neraus I did not realize you work in the health industry!! That is stressful and if you work the phones I'm sure its a lot of speaking with upset people. I hope to be off until June in a perfect world-that is when my unemployment runs out and I would really like to have April and May to enjoy the neighborhood pool before school lets out :) Now if I get an offer for a great job of course I'll take it but like I said "in a perfect world"

I have not done as well as I wanted this week on the exercise but still took the dog to the trail twice and around the neighborhood on the other days getting in over 4 miles each day (that is all inclusive as the FitBit tracks all day). So my poor Total Gym is still dusty and in the corner.

Take care and keep moving....TTYL

Well my job doesn't give me migraines but sometimes I come home with a sore jaw from clamping my mouth shut. LOL!!!! There are days when I wish the whole human race would just drop off the planet. Dealing with health insurance is never fun but yelling at me who has nothing to do with the said health insurance seems like a waste of your time and raises my blood pressure.

It's funny you say that-I have said that so much over the last 2 months! I really don't know what I want to do. I understand that all jobs come with their own headaches but I want one that only hurts a little and doesn't give me migraines! LOL

Tomorrow starts the new schedule (I hope)! I plan on walking the dog the 4 miles and then I have my waxing appointment and grocery shopping. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be Bodypump classes at the Y and still taking the dog around the neighborhood for a mile or so.

You'll have to let me know when you start looking and if you have good luck-maybe that will encourage me to look harder :) Take care and keep in touch!

Yes it has been cold lately but not too bad. My fitbit has me moving more and the last 2 weeks I have averaged 4K steps a day. Not a lot but when I got it sometimes I didn't even hit 2k a day I was very sedentary. I am thinking about looking for a new job as the one I have just don't enjoy it much anymore. I want to do something else entirely but what that something else is I haven't decided yet. I guess I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. LOL!!!

Oh wow its been way too long since I logged in here! I gained 2.5 lbs over Christmas but have since taken it back off. I have not been as good these last 2 weeks with my exercise or nutrition so starting next week I'm going to get on a better schedule of fitness classes, taking the dog on the 4 mile trail 2 or 3 times a week and getting in 2 sessions on the Total Gym. I have cut back on portion sizes but have not really eliminated anything from my diet :) As a matter of fact yesterday I made a brookie (brownie and chocolate chip cookie) and I have eaten a couple small pieces each day! I'm proud to say with shaking hands I packed up 1/2 the pan for my husband to take to work and give away! He said they were gone by 10:00am (oh yeah-they are THAT good). Still not working but have to be honest that I'm not looking too hard. I put in my required 5 work searches each week but I'm rather enjoying having some time to myself and getting things done around the house. In a perfect world I will find the right job come May/June and enjoy the spring and some pool time before the kids are all out for the summer ;) Take care Neraus and I will do better about checking in - at least once a week. How are you doing on exercise? With your weather up there I would assume its all indoors until March/April.

That does sound like a fun. I have an exercise tracker on my new phone but I have to carry it with me and I feel dumb at work carrying my phone all the time. It is too big to carry in my pocket so it is just awkward. But I try to make better choices and I have cut out some junk. Just not as much as I should.

I did read up on the Runners page and I'm sorry you had that happen-especially on a holiday! I hope you Christmas is better. I think we are just about done shopping (most of it was online this year). My husband just accepted a great job offer (which his current company then countered to keep him) so he had to decide and he is staying with his current company-but his raise almost makes up for my loss of income! God is keeping a kind eye on us!

I think having this Fitbit has helped me a lot with the moving more. Some days I go to the nearby walking trail and get in 4 miles :) I have cut back on my food intake but have not been tracking so that is my next step when I hit a plateau. These next 3 weeks will test me as boy there is good food and sweets everywhere and who can resist. I'm trying to walk extra on those days :)

My husband is having a work party here on Saturday night and I have been keeping busy getting ready for that and making cheeseball, cookies, puppy chow, salsa etc. We are purchasing 11 dozen tamales (I'm in San Antonio so boy are they good) and a nugget tray from Chick-fil-a for those who might not like tamales. We also do a white elephant style gift exchange (with steals allowed). Wish you lived close by as I would invite you to come.

Take care and keep in touch!

Sounds like a tough time so I am glad you are managing to lose some weight. I am not. Just seem to want sugar all the time.

Thanksgiving was not good. I posted about in the running group forum. I just don't have the energy to repeat it here. It makes me sad. Christmas is sneaking up on me as usual. I never get shopping done until the week of.

Sorry I have been MIA Neraus-4 days after I posted below I was laid off from my job (Oil and Gas Industry-bound to happen). Have been going through all the severance package paperwork and now filing for unemployment and ramping up the resume. Ah the joys of job hunting 😖 On the plus side I have been moving a lot more and eating less and I am down 10 lbs!! Win some/lose some I guess. How was your Thanksgiving? You all decorated and ready for Christmas?

I know I have been craving sweets really bad lately. I have been getting up about every 90 minutes at work but I can only take a short little lap in my office. They frown on doing any serious exercising at work. LOL!!

I hear that! I am so tired by the time I get home from work, it is all I've got to take the dog on her walk and that is only 1/2 mile to a mile. I have been trying to get up from my desk more and move each hour and build up to getting more steps in each day. I found on the weekends I'm getting in even less steps then weekdays :( I think I need to drive to our walking trail (2 or 3 choices nearby) and that would get me going at least a couple miles right there-and once I'm going I will do the whole loop, but talking myself into going is the trick. We are also coming into that time of year when I know my hand reaches for the treat bowl all too often emoticon

I am a long way from being consistent with my exercise. Weekends I get some in but very little during the week. I have my yearly physical tomorrow and I know the scale is going to be registering a pretty high number. I believe I am the highest I have ever been. Sigh I know what to do I just don't seem to want to do it.

that sounds yummy Neraus! I have seen the Jimmy Dean Delightfuls and have been thinking about grabbing some of those since they are under 300 calories. I also read in my magazine about zapping an egg in a coffee cup in the microwave and adding in fresh veggies and a touch of hot sauce-I'm intrigued about that too. I don't drink coffee but love the 80 calorie caramel cappachino made with my Keurig. I have been doing better with my walking but I'm not hitting the 10,000 steps consistently yet and need to work on that. I did lose 1.5 lbs last week and if I can just keep losing 1 lb or so each week I'd be happy with that. TTYL

Breakfast use to be hard for me until I discovered egg and sausage sandwiches. I found frozen egg patties that just need to be microwaved and use whole wheat light bread. If I get tired of those I just have a peanut butter sandwich and a banana. I can't eat oatmeal and I don't care for cereal. So my option use to be a donut but I can't eat something that sweet early in the morning. Makes me feel goofy most of the morning.

Problem with that is I am not a big breakfast person and often times miss eating breakfast altogether! I know that's bad as the Doctor's all say to eat a healthy breakfast to get that metabolism up and running. I will be a work in progress until I draw my last breath :)

Well they say if you are going to eat high calories doing it for breakfast is the best time. Gives you the rest of the day to work off stuff.

That is exactly what we need to do-those baby steps in the right direction! Today for lunch I picked up nuggets at Chick-fil-A and got the fruit for my side instead of the fries :) I had made a batch of blueberry muffins but when I realized having 2 of them with butter in the mornings with my 1 cup of milk was over 400 calories, I went and bought the light English muffins from Thompsons and they are 100 calories and I put on a light brushing of butter and grape jelly with my cup of milk and it's down to 325 :) Now I am meeting my sisters for happy hour at a Mexican restaurant so that will be 800 :( could be less but I will have my 2 Corona Lights LOL

Well like I said quite a few of us on there don't run much but it is a helpful encouraging group.

I don't think I could stand to see what my calorie intake is. I have been trying to change things. I change my breakfast sandwich to one I make myself instead of frozen. That cuts out about a 100 calories just there.

Is it the "Rookie Running Group" if so I am already a team member I just don't check in there. If you are going to that team I will start. I really only run if something is chasing me or it's the last 50 feet to the house when I take the dog on her walk :) Once I get a handle on this lower back pain I might incorporate some run intervals for HIIT training but I don't love running enough to pound the pavement for long stretches.

I have been entering my food intake and the FitBit tracks my HR, food and sleep. Boy do I go under on my exercise and OVER on my calories! The sad part is I know I have been cutting back this week and I'm still over by 400 or 500 each day-imagine how bad I went over when I just mindlessly ate (I mean just my "healthy" lunch of soup and 1/2 sandwich was over 1,000)!! Well it's a start and all I can do is make strides to do a little better each day.

Have a wonderful week! How is the weather in your neck of the woods? We are getting down into the upper 50's now at night but still hitting the 80's during the day :) Ahhh Texas weather never gets too cold. Had some really big rain totals and flash flooding here last week so I hope we are dry for a week or so. Take care and TTYL

My son just started a part time job so he has been home quite a bit the last two weeks. The break line on his car was so rusted that it broke and caused most of the break fluid to flow out. So no brakes but this happened while we were moving the car in our driveway so it was not a scary driving moment. Just an expensive repair moment.

I have not been walking much. I had to move my things out of my sewing room so my son could use it as a bedroom and the move has unsettled me. I can't find my stuff and the new space isn't as nice as my old sewing space so I have been kind of a big baby and not doing anything while I pout. LOL!!! I think I am over that and will get back to things. I am not a big fan of change.

I belong to a rookie running group. I don't run much any more but I still go to this group as we have been chatting for a couple of years now. I can send you the exact name of it if you are interested. Don't worry if you don't run quite a few of them don't anymore or have stopped for one reason or another

Oh gosh sorry I have been MIA!! We had a blast on our cruise but after being gone 8 days total and 6 from work it was a bit of playing catch up everywhere! I ordered the FitBit Surge (got $100 off through work) and boy has it been a wake up call to enter my food intake again! I found out the sandwich I have once a week at McAlisters is 903 by itself emoticon It is also making me get up from my desk and move more so I can get in my 10,000 steps. Yesterday was the first day and I made it but had to take the dog out for one more short walk at 9:15pm emoticon I will let you know how it goes over the next few months and if I'm sticking with it and making it worth the investment. I am thinking of getting my husband one for Christmas but full price is $250 and he has a lot of other things on his list that I think he wants more.

Neraus how is it going with the son living back at home? With the drive back and forth to college and most likely a PT job you probably don't see him all that often anyway. You been using that treadmill or getting outside for some walks?

I wonder where Toni disappeared to? And Lori, Starbright come on back and chit chat with us! I love having you guys to report in to and I don't feel a good connection on any other team - are you a member of an active, fun, chatty team?

Have a great day and hey it is Thursday so the weekend is sooooo close!

A cruise what fun. I just moved my son home this weekend. His living arrangements at school were awful. We live less than an hour away from his college so he can drive to finish up the few classes he has left.

Did you find any treasures while out shopping with your friends? I seem to always find a few things I just can't live without! I did much the same as you over the weekend-cleaning house and had my parents over for dinner on the 4th. With my mother-in-law's passing it brought it home to me that I need to spend as much time as possible with my parents while I still have them! It's hard to believe that my husband has lost both his parents already and he is not even 50 :( Maybe this is the wake up call we both needed to move more and eat less and just in general take care of our bodies.

We are leaving for our cruise on Saturday!!!! So excited! The cruise itself is from Sunday to Sunday with stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica (might have already mentioned the cruise) we are so ready for this break from the realities of life.

Take care all and remember to do something just for you! TTYL

I did a lot of walking with friends yesterday. We went shopping. Today is finishing up the move of my sewing room so my son can use it as a bedroom. Just a few small pieces to move then it is just vacuuming and dusting. Plus I get to grocery shop today. Wow I do have an exciting life. LOL!!!!

Starlight good to see you and yes, don't go MIA again :) We only get on here once or twice a week but its always one of my stops to see how Neraus (and Toni when she is here but she has been MIA too) is doing.

Neraus moving furniture sure counts as exercise! I went to the pool twice this week and plan to go again tomorrow and get in my laps and water exercises before the water gets too cold (we can usually swim here in Texas until mid October). I think I'm going to cancel my YMCA membership as I don't go-and get back to utilizing the Total Gym I bought back in the spring and only used a couple weeks. Between that and walking the dog further I'm going to call it good. I can also buy a FitBit through my job and the really nice one with GPS, watch, heart rate, music etc. is only $150 so not too bad-has the sleep monitoring and alarm as well and a 7 day battery/recharge life.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy weekend-lets get out and enjoy some nice fall weather while we can.

I just moved some furniture by myself does that count as exercise? Too stubborn and impatient to wait for the hubby to get home so I figured out how to do it alone. Last time I did that I broke a glass door on a cabinet. But tonight no human or furniture fatalities. LOL!!!

Great job Neraus!! Are you still getting on the treadmill this week? I have just been walking the dog and I did the 5K Susan G. Komen walk in Kansas City and boy did that kick my fanny. We ran some of it as well (very little) and I finished in 51:30

I hope you guys are doing well and keep doing the work to live a healthier lifestyle!

Well surprises of surprises I was on my treadmill three times this week. Only for about 35 minutes each time but that is the most I have exercised in a long time. Now if I could just stop eating donuts or the giant bag of candy corn I might actually accomplish something. The only reason I liked having a gym membership was to use a pool. But after awhile even that was a draw enough to get me there.

I can't figure it out either Neraus! It's like I want to/want to lose weight but I'm not motivated at all. Maybe its our changing hormones at this stage of life that does this to us as it seems a theme with most of my women friends between 45 - 55. I think maybe its time I went to the doctor for some tests and get some questions answered. I have not been to the YMCA in over a month so I think I'll cancel and try to get myself motivated at home using my Zumba DVD's, Total Gym and my dog Skye for long walks :)

I will be doing a 5k this coming Sunday in Kansas City when I'm there visiting my daughter for her 28th birthday so I'll see how that goes :) Take care and keep me up to date on what your doing to move it, move it .... LOL

I am so sorry for you loss. That must have been very hard for both you and your husband. Tough to lose a parent at any age.

My son for the moment is not coming home. I think he wants to see how this semester works out. but I am still trying to clean and organize in the basement. My legs feel fine but I seem to have sore ankles at the end of every day. Still not sure if it cause by the wrong shoes, weight, lack of movement, some other issue as yet undiagnosed or all of the above. I know getting my weight down could do nothing but good for me but I remain really unmotivated.

Well what did your son decide? Is he moving back home? How were your legs feeling after all the up and down the stairs?

I was gone for a bit as my mother-in-law for 29 years had a heart attack and passed away on August 22nd at the age of 72. She had not been feeling well and was retaining water and having trouble breathing for 3 or 4 days before she finally called her daughter and had her take her to Urgent Care. They ran the blood work and confirmed a heart attack and had her taken by ambulance to the hospital for further testing. We scrambled out of San Antonio and headed the 10 hour drive to Oklahoma and were lucky enough to get to spend Friday and Saturday morning with her before she suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away with us by her side at 5:43pm. My heart just broke for my husband who also lost his Dad 16 years ago. We spent the week up there with funeral arrangements, funeral and helping his sister as much as we could get the house cleaned out and things shut off. So final! Put's everything into perspective though and makes me realize not to sweat the small stuff but to enjoy and live each day.

Wishing you all health and happiness!

Today I have to clean some things out of the basement so there should be lots of steps. Our son might move home to finish up his last school year. He hasn't decided yet but I am starting to move things around and clean up just in case.

Hey anything we do that has us moving more then usual is a plus! I have been trying to take the dog on the longer loops when we walk in the evening instead of just up and around to get the mail. I like the idea of throwing in some stairs Neraus-excellent for the legs and glutes :) Take care and do an extra set of stairs for me. TTYL

My exercises are not very inspiring. I walk and I go up and down my basement stairs. I am just trying to move because I have been so sedentary the last year.

You will have to let me know what you think of the minimalist shoes if you get some. I have yet to even go looking for some new sneakers yet-also have yet to put my fanny back at the gym. I made a deal with myself that if I didn't go at least 7 times a month then I would cancel the membership. That means I better kick it into gear soon or cancel :( I'm thinking about going to the doctor and just making sure all my hormones and thyroid are doing ok as I've been so dang tired this past 3 weeks or so with brain fog and hair falling out more then what is normal. Stinking aging!!

Take care and let me know what you did for exercise this week-maybe it will inspire me :)

Shoes continue to be an issue. I can't seem to find any that fit quite right. Now I am doing research on minimalist shoes because there are lots of people who think the modern athletic shoe is wrecking our feet. All I know is supportive or not supportive they are really expensive. I can't keep buying shoes that don't work for me. I will get it figured out sooner or later.

That's a good plan Neraus! I have 0 excuses as even when I can't make it to the gym I have plenty of equipment and a Total Gym w/DVD's so use at the house. I need to get back to it as I do like the feeling of accomplishment after I'm done-its the convincing myself to go that's the problem. :) Did you get your new shoes? I'm going to go purchase some new sneakers soon as I don't think I'm getting the support I should in the one's I have-probably too many miles on them which is a good thing (except I have had these 3 or 4 years) LOL Take care and keep up the great job on your workouts!

I did get my walk in. I exercised 3 days in a row then the work week took over and I did squat. Hubbys job is changing and I will be back to getting home and having the house to myself for about an hour. I need to start making that my exercise time.

Toni where the heck are you hiding? Hope all is well and that you are just busy.

Neraus-did you go out and get that walk in?

My sister came over again last weekend and plans to make the walk/swimming a regular Saturday morning thing. My boys are at Gen Con now and hubby sent a pic of all the people waiting for the doors to open-man its packed!! I have had a rough work week with training and all my regular work and have been getting home closer to 7:00pm so no gym time for me this week and I have been eating poorly to boot! I weighed this morning and was relieved to see I had not gained any weight but sure have not lost any in weeks either. I know my age and food intake is to blame. Still need to make cut backs and portion control. Since the end of May I'm down 8lbs so I'm not going to be too hard on myself but I don't want to plateau already.

Everyone take care and get in those extra steps whenever you can and I will too! TTYL

Your day with your sister and then your mom sounds like a lot of fun. I usually exercise alone as my sister lives too far away. It is pretty hot and humid here this weekend but I plan to get out this morning for a walk. Just waiting for my body to wake up a bit more. LOL!!!

Oh yikes!! After 16 years in Oklahoma I got use to the alarms sounding and grabbing kids, pets and pillows and having a sleep session in the closet under the stairs! I love a good storm with lots of thunder and lightning but tornado's I can live without.

Did 2 days at the pool again this weekend. My sister came over 8:30am and we went to the new trail and walked 2.5 miles and then went right to the pool where we swam and exercised for another hour. My Dad then brought my Mom over and the 3 of us went for Pedicures and out for a salad for lunch (full disclosure-we also split a raspberry cream cheese croissant) emoticon

Tonight is Zumba and I am going to force myself to go even thought its only 2:30pm and I've thought of 10 reasons to bail. It is a weird time spot from 6:30-7:30pm right in that should be making or eating super window of the evening. I'm not really hungry before class and then after class, travel home and cooking dinner - it means eating at 8:00 or 8:15. I need to make Tuesday and Thursday crock pot nights.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your hubby to find a great job Neraus! In the meantime please take care of yourself. TTYL

I would love access to a pool but that only way to get that is to join a gym. Just not a good time for that.

Had a big storm move through last night. Got woken up so watched the weather news on tv with the hubby. Once we were pretty much through the worst of it I went back to bed. I really don't care for storms. Just heavy rains for us but there was a tornado touch down in the area.

I will keep you in my prayers for the right job to come along for your husband.

This will be the 3rd year the boys attend Gen Con and they always come home with many treasures and fun stories about the things they did and the things they saw. Seems like everyone just gets along well and games just spring up all over the place. I will shop like crazy when I go see my daughter and I know we will also eat out (plan on making somewhat healthy choices with the occasional vacation treat). We are already signed up for a 5K when I'm there so that will help a little :)

I have not been very good over the last week with getting my workouts in (I was sick with a stomach bug for 2 days) but I did get to the neighborhood pool this past weekend and swam some laps and got in 20 minutes of water exercises too.

Take care and keep in touch!

Glad that you are making such good strides in exercise and eating. Me not as much. I can manage a walk most evenings but my eating isn't good yet.

No the hubby has had no luck yet finding a new job. The 4th of july week kind of put things on hold but now hoping something will turn up. My hubby and his friends use to go to Gen Con. It use to be held in Milwaukee and they went every year. When it moved to Indianapolis I think they have been once.

Oh Neraus-so sorry to hear about your hubby getting laid off. I work in the Oil industry and its been a rough year for us too-we laid off 46 people out of 400 (and this was just our field locations). I hated it! I made the cut but watched many get walked out that I had onboarded-very sad day :( Has he had any luck job hunting?

Glad you had a nice vacation. I am going to be purchasing my airline ticket soon to go see my daughter for her 28th birthday in September! My hubby and son (who is turning 25 this coming weekend) are doing a father/son trip to Indianapolis at the end of this month for the Gen Con convention. It's good to have that one on one time with our kids and its extra special now because time is limited with them all grown up now.

I'm hanging in there with my workouts and getting a little stronger. I still have to talk myself into it most days-my nature is to go home, take my shoes off and veg on the couch. I always feel better afterwards but before and during are different stories. Currently I am working out 4 days a week and I will need to bump that up to 6 eventually. I also need to do much better with my food intake and the quality of the calories I'm taking in. I purchased a Ninja blender/processor and I have been making some delicious smoothies (spinach, carrots, blueberries and pinnapple with milk) was todays breakfast. When I do not have time to make a smoothie I purchased the high protein Ensure drinks - chocolate and have that for breakfast and they are only 160 calories so actually a lighter calorie meal over the smoothie. I pour the drink over ice and sip it over 30 minutes and it really does hold me over until lunch.

Hope you both had a wonderful 4th of July! Let's buckle down now that we are 1/2 way through 2015 and see how much we can accomplish by Christmas. Remember just move a little more and eat a little less each week and we will find our happy weight. Take care and remember I'm thinking of you and sending you all the best.

I did find a suit top but it cost $30 which I thought was a bit much. My vacation was a blast but I came home to find out my hubby had been laid off while I was gone. It wasn't expected at all so that kind of sucked the fun out of my last day of vacation. Trying to exercise but my feet hurt. I think I just have to get use to being on my feet again and strengthen all those muscles. But until that happens yowser not happy feet.

Yes Neraus I think I would pass on the granny swimsuit too! I purchased a new suit back in April for our October cruise and I bought it 2 sizes too small for what I was currently weighing to give me that extra incentive. I also purchased a cover up and cute "walking the deck" dress and both are smaller and waiting for me :)

I can't wait for the Zumba to not feel so long! I start looking at the clock at about 15 minutes in and its a 1 hour class!! I stay with it and each time I think I get a little better-building back up my cardio capacity. Tonight is body pump and I'm going to add to the weight a little on my arms but stick to the light weights for the lunges/squats as I can never get through all the rounds for those (they do 3 rounds). I figure once I can do all the rounds and my legs have built up some strength I will add weights then. emoticon

I hope you all are having a good week and Neraus, hope you found that swimsuit and are enjoying your vacation-tell us all about it!

Toni-hope you are doing ok and getting in those bike rides and walks-your fitness minutes look good emoticon TTYL

Way to go on the exercise. I do like the phrase not falling off me but not falling on me. LOL!!! Today I find some thing to wear at the pool come heck or high water. We leave Tuesday. I was looking at Target's website and there is a really odd new look. They call them high waisted swim pants but they look like granny panties. Then they pair that with a bikini top that looks like a bra. So the whole thing looks like you are wearing your underwear to the pool. I think I will pass on that. LOL!!!

I could not agree more on the cloths! The swimsuits are mostly granny style and make the too thin for plus size models even look big!

Neraus I hope you have some miles on those new shoes :) I need to be getting a new pair of sneakers soon too.

Toni good for you on getting some of your house projects done-considering your work hours that has to be difficult to squeeze in. How are you doing on your exercise?

I am proud to say I finally get to move my ticker-weight is coming down nicely-its not falling off me but it didn't fall on me either - LOL I have been going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week and walking the dog everyday (some days its short, like 1/4 mile-other days a mile). I would have gone to the gym more but last Thursday I took a vacation day and went to our neighborhood pool before the schools are out for summer. Had the whole thing to myself and stayed 4 hours exercising and playing in the pool and floating on my boogie board-picked up a nice sunburn on the forehead and back so pulling on a sports bra and going to the gym was NOT in the cards for several days :( I'm back to it this week and have gone to both my Zumba days and will go on Saturday for bodypump and my 40 minutes on the elliptical (I am adding minutes each week and upping the intensity).

Wishing you both a healthy, relaxing and fun weekend-let's all report on Monday what and how much exercise we get in and how we did on our food as well (its the weekend so we can work in a special treat) :) TTYL

Good Morning,
Long week so far and getting longer.... Very busy at work with not time to think.
Neraus I agree with you on the clothes. I dislike clothes shopping so much. What really irritates me is when they are selling plus size clothes, but advertising them on skinny models. Show me what that thing is going to look like on my fat body not some toothpick!

Enjoy the rest of the week! Lets get out and get moving.

Toni

No the shoes are still sitting by the door mocking me. I have been trying to find a swimsuit since I am going to a resort next week. Being fat in America is apparently a crime. You are sentenced to wear ugly clothes and pay a fortune for the privilege.

Good Monday Morning!
Hope you guys had a great weekend. I got some stuff done around the house, but not near as much as I wanted to. I took my granddaughter clothes shopping yesterday. That was a day in itself...LOL she is 9 going on 15.

Neraus did you get a chance to break in those new shoes?

Kerrie how are those work outs going? I am going to try to add more on this week.

Have a great day and week!

Weekend already. I have no idea where the time goes. Weather here is intermittent to say the least. One day it is 90 and the next 68. Rain came back with a vengeance yesterday. nI have not seen a down pour like that in a long time. Lasted a long time too. But seem to clear up and the sun back out when it was time for me to ride my bike home. It was really nice. The rain makes everything feel so clean and fresh.

Way to go Kerrie! emoticon I wish I could put up a list on exercise like that on my post. emoticon Keep posting your progress, as that is a huge motivator for me.

Neraus I have the same issues with the sweet, salty, crunchy things. emoticon
For a couple of weeks now I have been craving something and can not figure out what it is. That drives me crazy, cause I find myself eating more trying to satisfy it. When I know that if I just eat it, then I will be good.

I did buy a bunch of fresh fruit this week. It all just looked and smelled so good. I love to snack on watermelon, cantaloupe, and grapes.

Have a wonderful weekend all! I will go into work for a little while tomorrow, but other than that, hoping to get more stuff done around the house and get my granddaughter some clothes for summer.

I'm proud of you both! Baby steps in the healthy direction is all we can ask of ourselves as we create a lifestyle we can maintain. I for one cannot maintain a diet that says I can never have sweet tea (or dr. pepper) or a dessert-but I can cut back and move a little more each week.

I have gone to 3 bodypump 1 hour classes, 2 Zumba 1 hour classes and did 1 1/2 hour on the elliptical in the last 10 days and dropped 3 lbs. I still can't move my ticker though as I'd gained from my weight setting, but I hope to move that sucker soon! I will attend 30 minute bodypump/30 minute CRX (bands) class tonight and will try and get in 20 minutes on the row machine (I love the workout on that rower).

I took tomorrow as a vacation day (mental health) and its going to be so nice here weather wise (in the upper 80's) that I will pack some fruit and water and spend a couple hours at the neighborhood pool doing my water exercises, laps and enjoying the sunshine (slathered in 50 spf). :)

You both keep up those walks/bike rides and all three of us are going to move those tickers soon! We will celebrate with a virtual high 5 and some fruit with fat free whipped cream, LOL

My low carb experiment worked for about 2 days then I was back at it. Man I love anything sweet and chewy or salty or crunchy. Sigh!!! Baby steps first two days next week maybe three days.

Good Morning!
Been a long week for a short week. LOL
Weather has been great here for this past week after all the rain. I was able to get out and do my walks and ride my bike all week. Tire went flat yesterday on the way to work....couldn't figure out why it was so difficult to pedal, thought must be having one of those days where my legs don't want to work, was glad to find out that I was just getting in an extra hard work out..LOL

Neraus I like making the turkey roll ups too. They are great snacks. High in protein, low carb.
I like to roll them up with cream cheese and pickle too. Those are really good.

Another great low carb meal is turkey tacos. Use romaine lettuce for your shell. They are so good. I never missed the shell and I really thought I would.

Have to go into work for a few hours this morning, then get stuff done around the house and going to a Reno Aces baseball game tonight. Should be a good game.
Tomorrow will be my rest day.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Toni

We went walking in a sculpture park Saturday that had some hills. My calf muscles are very tight still. I am also trying to go a bit more low carb. Breakfast was turkey and cheese roll ups. Nothing fancy just take a piece of deli turkey and roll it together with a piece of cheese. LOL!!! Plus I didn't buy potato chips at the store when I went grocery shopping yesterday. They had my favorite kind on sale which made it tough to walk right by them. But I love to drink tea with sugar so that is what I am going to try to make as my only or main source of carbs. Don't tell me to drink it with out or use honey or some fake sweetners. I have tried all of that and didn't like it. I figure I get one treat and my sweet tea is mine. LOL!!!
