Where is everyone hiding?

I lost 2 pounds this week and I'm at 16.5 since the end of December. I have had two high points days in a row this weekend, so the rest of this week I'll have to really be accountable for what I'm eating and make sure to write everything down.

I did 6 days of working out and I took 2 days off so its back at it tomorrow. I am encorporating running intervals into my routine and I hope to be able to run a 5K by summer.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a great weekend. TTYL

Annie glad the Adkins is working for you and helping with your energy level. I just had a niece who had a baby on December 31, so I know its great seeing that next generation born. My daughter and new son-in-law are going to wait a few years before they start trying to have a family which I think is great, its important to have some time as a couple. My hubby and I had kids right away so we are having our couple time now :)

I lost 3.4 pounds this week so that more then makes up for the gain of .2 last week. I am averaging 2.5 pounds a week so I'm very pleased with my progress. I have been adding in exercise this week and I'm telling you Kathy Smith is kicking my fanny!! I was so sore the other day it was rough just lifting myself off the potty!! LOL

Made a meatloaf for dinner and boy is it smelling yummy! Hope everyone is having a great start to thier week-TTYL

Hi Kerrie, Kellianne, Jules and all!

Ok done with my two crazy busy weeks....had a baby shower for my niece yesterday - so now all is calming down. Our youngest daughter asked what we were doing next weekend and I was like NOTHING, I am doing nothing. I am going to get my nails done, church, grocery shopping and nothing else! Best thing of all it is a long weekend for us - Presidents Day is a holiday for us..strange huh!

Ok I actually starting on Atkins - decided I would give it a try to see how it would be for me with my digestive issues...and heck when I follow it to a tee - it is amazing how good I feel! I don't have any stomach issues whatsoever...during the day or at night.....it was almost refreshing to wake up and feel good :).

So my goals for this week are to get back to tracking my food, WI on Tuesday and begin my running again.

What's your goals for this week?

Hugs to all!

Annie

Hey Annie good to hear from you. Sorry its been so crazy for you at work, makes it hard to focus attention on yourself. Hope you enjoy the visit with your kids.

I was up .2 at my weigh in but I'll take that considering I had a rough week with my snacking. I think the next big hurdle for me will be cutting back and eventually out the diet dr. peppers. Right now I'm drinking them like water (6 to 7 cans a day)!! Now when I go workout I drink only water. I do love the peach mango green tea from crystal light so I need to start stocking up on that.

Take care all and have a great week. TTYL

Hello all!

Ok for some reason I don't get notifications that there has been a post here....so I don't come thinking you all might be off having fun somewhere :).

This last week has been crazy busy at work and have had something going on every night this week. So unlike me....I don't ever have things going on at night. SO glad it is the weekend and I don't really have any plans for this weekend - 2 of our boys will be home tonight thru tomorrow, so getting ready for them :).

taking care of myself...nope....no exercise, not eating good.....no wonder I am so tired! So using my down time this weekend to get myself into a groove and plan.

Hugs to all!

Annie

Sounds like you have allergies Kellianne. I suffer with bad sinus issues whenever the mold is high, although since moving to San Antonio my allergies have been much better then they were in Oklahoma. I have not heard anything about the job yet but have put in for 4 more jobs that sound pretty good (one is very close to what I do). I just wish something would give-either the house selling or finding a job. I just keep praying for the right people to come along on all fronts, God will be done! On the positive side my daughter and new son-in-law are buying their first home and closing on the 17th-so happy for them and can't wait to go visit.

Took today as my rest day from exercise as my legs and buns are still pretty sore from the Kathy Smith workout on Tuesday. Tomorrow I think I will do the Jillian Michaels Kettlebell workout and walk a mile or two at the park that is close to my Weight Watchers meeting. Then I'm going over to my Mom and Dads to help my Mom take down her Christmas decorations (I didn't realize they still had them up til last Friday. My Mom said she has just been too tired to get out all the boxes and take everything down). So since I have the time and energy I feel I should go help.

Hope you are all doing well and getting in some nice exercise and yummy healthy food. If anyone has been trying new healthy recipes please share! I made a great smoothie the other morning out of blueberries, bananas, honey greek yogury, 1% milk and a little shaved ice. YUMMY!! TTYL

Jules - way to go on your workouts and good for you for kicking it up a notch. Good luck on the strength training. I'm looking at my flabby arms and thinking I need to get the weights out and get busy.

Kerrie - Still hoping you will hear good news. Well done on your workouts. Sounds like you are staying dedicated. My daughter enjoyed a very peaceful weekend without her little brother around to bug her. She did her usual routine of sitting on the computer all day for the most part. Although, she did visit a friend one afternoon. She just texted me about a party this weekend. Yikes! Waiting to hear the details on that one.

As far as my fitness goes, it's still pretty much just walking the dogs. The sinus headaches have been better, but only because I've been taking a sinus medication whenever I feel the pressure start to build. *Sigh* really hate taking medications. But, it can't be helped I guess. Was afraid I was coming down with the stomach flu Tuesday night. My stomach was cramping and I was really nauseated. My poor husband came home from work and asked what was for dinner. When I turned green he quickly said never mind and made a pizza for him and the kids. I do love that man. Anyway, Wednesday dawned with my feeling better (just slightly queasy off and on). So, I'm thankful that the virus that's been going around seems to have stayed away.

Now that I've shared more information that any of your probably wanted to hear. I'm off to finish up some things before I have to pick my son up from the school dance he was helping at.

Keep Sparking!

Hey Jules they said they would know in the next week or two on the job. The more I think about how the interview ended the more I think I won't get chosen. They never even talked/asked about salary or talked about benefits. I researched the company ahead of time and thats how I know they have great benefits. Oh well I am happy with getting the face to face interview expierence no matter what.

As far as the workouts go, I have done a workout for 3 days in a row now. I walked on the TM for 50 minutes Monday (with hills and a 3 min run session, did 3 miles), did a Kathy Smith DVD on Tuesday (boy did she do a ton of squats and lunges-I am sore) and today back to the 50 minutes on the TM doing 2.75 miles no running this time-I'm too sore from Tuesday for that. Tomorrow I will either walk up to the gym and do the bike or do an easier DVD at home.

Kellianne hope you are feeling back to 100% and able to get back to long walks with the dogs. What did your daughter do while your son was off at winter camp?

Where is Annie, Neraus and Toni? Miss you guys and hope everything is going well so far this year. Can you guys believe its already Febuary? You know what I love about WW? That I can still have candy as long as I make room for it in my day-and of course its a mini musketeers but YUMMY!! :) Take care all my Sparkbuddies TTYL

Kerrie - fingers are crossed for you! Keep us posted. Any idea on how soon you'll hear?

Kelli - Sinus issues are such a PAIN. Literally. Hope this week is better. And it's been a wierd winter for everyone, from what I've heard.

Hit the gym with hubby at 6:30 this morning - 30 min on the elliptical, burned about 180 calories (based on the mileage of 1.81 mile rather than the machine's calorie count, as they seem to overestimate calorie burns). Started off slow and easy with the intent to keep it that way but as I warmed up felt like pushing a little. It was nice to feel that desire - it's been pretty absent lately.

Plan for this week is to try to make it to the gym with hubby each of the following weekmornings, and maybe get a day or two of ST in on my own as well.

What're your plans for the week? More likely you'll do it if you plan it ahead of time...

Kerrie - Marathon Oil sounds like a wonderful opportunity. Hope it works out. I know the feeling about having plenty of things to get you moving in the workout area. But, it seems what I really need is a mechanized boot to get me moving. Somebody needs to invent one of those. :)

Jules - good to hear from you. Looking forward to reading your blog.

Realized as I checked in today that I haven't posted since January 19. So bad. Have still been walking, but not much else. Was dealing with some pretty horrific sinus headaches last week. The pressure pretty much shut me down as far as exercising goes. The weather has been so taciturn - cold for a few days, then windy and hot. Feels like summer and it's supposed to be winter. Can't figure out what's up with that.

My son got back from winter camp yesterday. Three days at Hume Lake Christian Camps snowboarding, playing paintball, sledding, enjoying the snow, and some Bible teaching thrown in as well. He is scraped and bruised from all the physical activity, but happy as a clam about his adventures. Love that he was able to go.

Keep Sparking all!

Hey Jules so good to "hear" from you!1 I will go check out your blog before I log off of here. I think we have all been hit and miss lately so we are all in this together right?? No one ever said getting into healthier habits was easy, just that it would be worth it in the long run.

Kellianne so sorry you had a rough grief day-you were very blessed to have a Mom you felt so close to!! I too have a wonderful Mom and I am very lucky she is still with me and doing well. My Dad is doing well too even though he will not admit his age of 74 and still works full time. Sure wish we could convince him to retire. My parents celebrate thier 50th wedding anniversary this August and my hubby and I hit 25 in March.

Annie how did the FitTV workout go? We use to have that too but I don't think we have the same package here that we had in Oklahoma. Maybe once we get into a house I will look at adding that back. I have PLENTY of DVD's though and the Xbox Kinect with the different dance and workout games so there really is plenty of workouts for me to do, so how do I keep finding the excuses to not workout????

Had another interview today, this time with Marathon Oil and boy do I want this job!! It matches up so well with what I did for Whirlpool and has amazing benefits. I really want to get back to college and get my degree and they have education reimbursment so I'm super excited about that. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Also went to my Weight Watchers meeting today and I've lost a total of 11 pounds since Dec. 30th-I'll take that!! I had a rough week last week but I did not use all my extra points they give us so must not have been as bad as I thought.

Hope you are all doing well and feeling good. Anybody have some fun vacation plans upcoming? I won't have vacation for a while with a new job the next step for me. TTYL

Ok, another country heard from. Got a post on my page saying "Come back, we need you!..." LOL and thought I'd check in.

Yeah, I've been pretty MIA myself for far too long. Got a blog up that explains a bit about what's going on with me.

SO - worked out on the elliptical yesterday and did strength training and about 20 min on the treadmill today - walking. Running isn't an option for me right now - got some foot and leg issues from my job (standing in place on concrete for 6 hours at a time) that I have to try to fix first. But, it's a start, right?

Oh, and don't even TALK to me about the food....! Anyway, emoticon to you all. I'll try to pop in regularly as well as blog so I'll slowly catch up with ya'll.

Annie - Thanks for the encouragement. So sorry to hear your dad isn't doing so well. I really do miss my mom every day and wouldn't have it any other way. She was an amazing lady and probably the most influential person of my life. But, there are days where I just feel knocked to the ground with grief. Monday was one of those days.

Was not expecting to walk the dogs today. We had rain predicted but it turned out to be sunny, if a little chilly. So, off I went with the pups for our usual foray. Hoping to challenge my husband on the Wii this evening to burn some extra calories. I made a decadent peanut butter brownie pie last night for hubby's birthday that needs to be worked off.

Keep Sparking!

LOL Kerrie on the looking easy workouts! It's just like the Biggest Loser for Wii...omg I do the beginner and almost die! I am going to start doing a workout in the morning - we have On Demand TV and there is an exercise channel....then I don't have to go outside..no excuses right!

Food has been much better this week - but still is very hard....and as my husband says, who said it was going to be easy...OH SHUT UP would you!

Hugs to you KelliAnne - my mom's been gone for going on 12 years....there are still times that I miss her so much it hurts. My dad has really gone down hill in the last year and it's weird, I keep having dreams that my mom is alive and we go visit dad at the nursing home....it's freaky! Maybe it's because everytime I go see dad I yell to my mom to come take dad with her....he needs to be at peace.

Have a great day all - walking does wonders for the spirit!

Kerrie - good for you on getting in those workouts. Keep going girl! I love, love, LOVE good food. And, I crave it. But, I also pay for it later when my body goes into "what did you feed me?" shock. Sometimes, though, it's worth it.

Never got around to doing much more than walking the dogs yesterday. Was in a funk emotionally and close to tears all day. Really missing my mom. *sigh* Thankfully, being back to my regular routine of getting kids to school, hubby to work, and me off to church really helped today. Walked the dog and just spent 25 minutes playing "Just Dance 3" with my guy. His birthday is tomorrow. Gotta figure out something special to do for him. His birthday and Christmas kind of got wrapped together with a big ticket item he wanted.

Keep sparking all!

Annie thats fantastic that you can still run most of 1.5 miles!! That just proves that the hard work you put in is still with you. I so agree with you on cutting back on the yummy foods-its freaking hard!! I always laugh when people say fat just does'nt taste good to them anymore, I will eat smaller portions and watch what I eat, but something tells me when I do splurge on a cheesecake or pizza it will taste WONDERFUL!! :)

Kellianne hope you and hubby enjoyed your alone time!! It is both great and sad when the kids reach the age when they are away from home more then there.

I have worked out the last 2 nights for 30 minutes a time. I did workouts from Shape and Fitness magazine that looked easy (one had 5 moves and the other have 10) that you repeat through 2 or 3 times with bursts of cardio between sets. Well LOOKING easy is NOT the same thing as BEING easy!! :) Today my arms are sore from the tricep dips and push ups. On the plus side I did 30 man style push ups so that is good!! I use to be able to do 50 without stoppng so there is my goal.

Ok time to get some healthy lunch going - TTYL

Kerrie - Sounds like you are doing great on the weight loss. So many days, I want to sit on the couch and veg rather than going for a walk, but I always feel better after the walk. Can't say the same for the time spent on the couch.

Annie - WTG on your run. That's pretty awesome. Sounds like you are well on your way to that 5K already.

Spent yesterday fighting a cold but feeling better today and got out to walk the dogs. Just trying to keep moving. Happy Sunday all!

Going to enjoy some time off tomorrow with my hubby. Looks like the kiddos will both be off on their own little adventures.

Hi Kerrie and Kellianne!

That's ok Kellianne...that's me too :). As long as we keep coming back! Hey a 5 pound gain over the holidays is not bad at all!

Kerrie....ok my intentions were there and I didn't do a thing! I walked the dogs every day and one night I made them run with me. I was actually quite surprised, I did a run and I thought I'll just see how far I could run and I actually ran most of the way - which is about 1.5 miles.

NOt much else new - wish I could get my food in control...I know what I need to do, it's a matter of doing it...and why is that so flipping hard?

Hugs to both of you!

Well hello Kellianne and welcome back :) Sounds like you had a great holiday season and got some great gifts that will come in handy on the healthy lifestyle journey!

Annie good for you on starting back on the C25K-lets do this thing!! I had a rough week with the motivation to exercise last week so I am back to the W1D1 on the program, but even if I have to start and restart it will happen for me this year. I think I just need to bite the bullet and sign up for a 5K and then I will have a time frame for doing the program.

My first weigh in went great down 5 pounds!! This week was down 1.8 which is more the normal weight loss amount on the program, and like I said it would have been higher had I chosen to get up off the couch and exercise. Once I get the eating AND exercise going I figure I will lose between 2 and 3 pounds a week and that is my goal!! So that means by July 4th I could be to my goal weight or at least so close I can taste it!! Of course the hard part is maintaining the good habits you set when losing the weight and not getting distracted by life!!

Hope you guys had a good weekend and here's to a great week!! TTYL

Kellianne...otherwise known as MIA...reporting in. Somehow found five lbs over the holidays (no idea how that happened...only had about six dozen cookies, millionsof pieces of chocolate, and an unnamed amount of good food). But, I'm trying to find the motivation to be and stay more active. Got Just Dance 3 for the Wii for Christmas. It's got a Just Sweat mode that I've been using to trying and up the calorie burn. It's been a lot of fun. That with the usual dog walks hopefully means some weight loss soon. Although, I have to say, my husband and my son have been enjoying it way more than I have. Those two have played for a couple of hours at a time some days. Who knew?

I'll try my best to keep up with the group on posts. You'd think with a new computer I'd posting more instead of less. Yikes!

Hope you all are well and in the fitness spirit! Keep sparking!

Hi Kerrie!

Great job on the TM! I am going to start the C25K program as well....have to get back up to the running mode.

All the kids are back to school, so back to a normal house again. We packed up all the Christmas stuff yesterday - feels nice to get the house all cleaned up....and get rid of all the Christmas clutter :).

Working out tonight, will do my day 1 of C25k.

So far this year I have 5 miles on the TM, my goal is to get 35 this month and work up from there. I am doing the C25K again and today was day 1 and it was tough for me to do the 60 second runs. The first 3 were not bad but the last 3 were killer!! If things don't get easier by the 3rd run this week I will do week one for 2 weeks then move on. My weigh in day is Friday and I'll be curious how I did.

TTYL and lets keep up the healthy eating going!!

Here I am Annie!! You are right, the holidays are over and its time to get rid of the last of the treats and stock our pantries and fridges with the good healthy food!! I'm going to WW now (a birthday gift from hubby) so I have been studying my books the last few days and staying within my points range. I lost 45 pounds 8 years ago but didn't stick it out to become a lifetime member and slowly gained the weight back. This time I'm sticking it out until I'm a lifetimer and then the meetings are free and I will only weigh in once a month.

Toni, Neraus, Speigy and Kellianne hope you guys had a great holiday season and are planning on coming back to chat with us soon-the more we have here encouraging and motivating each other the better. Love to all and heres to a happy, healthy 2012!!

We have been lucky so far with the house because my husband took a great job here in San Antonio so we are not struggling to pay both rent and mortgage, but we can't keep it up indefinetly. The biggest thing concerning me is the lack of a job (not even a call for an interview)!!

Yesterday was my 44th birthday and I really believe that this is going to be the year it all comes together for me-I WILL find a great job and we will sell our house and get our San Antonio home!! My hubby and son took me to Logans steak house and I am proud to say I came home with 1/2 for lunch tomorrow. This is our year you guys!! We can make the change to a healthier life right now!! I don't care if I am ever a size 2 or even 5 for that matter, I just want to FEEL good.

Take care all and keep smiling :)

Yes home selling is for the birds right now! We sold our home pretty quickly, but we sure took a loss on it....and it wasn't a short sale, so we still have a loan we are paying on it. I figure we will be able to take a loss write off on it for about 3 years....LOL! Such is life!

Yes I am ready and like I said to another friend....it's not so much the weightloss, I just want to feel like I can move easier. Yeah we can do this Kerrie!

I have already noticed quite a benefit of not smoking. I have asthma and had been put on a maintenance inhaler about a month before I quit smoking. I was using that twice a day as directed and then also would use my rescue inhaler about once a day....if not twice. I could never walk or do anything outisde in the cold weather without having my rescue inhaler with me. I now only do my maintenance inhaler once a day and my rescue inhaler....well it's around but I don't use it....and amazingly I don't even need it after taking the dogs on a walk. That is quite a freedom, to know I don't have to have that thing basically tied to me :).

I went to college in Seguin...just east of you in San Antonio....have many great memories from Texas and have some awesome forever friends down that way :).

Ok off to get ready for work.

Have a great day :).

Hello to everyone else out there!

Hey Annie a BIG congrats on hitting the 3 month smoke free mark-what a huge deal that is!! Now think how much easier it will be on your lungs when you run and do cardio :) Its going to be a big spring for you with 3 graduating college. My husband (also Chris) and I are still living in the apartment waiting for our house to sell in Oklahoma so we can buy our home in San Antonio.

I love the idea with the beads for rewards along the way to a healthier lifestyle. I am going to do something like that with trips to get mani/pedis, massage, new outfit or overnight date with hubby. You sound like you are now inspired to tackle the diet and exercise and so am I. I am still finding my footing here in Texas and really need to find a job and keep busy so there is less bored eating.

Lets make 2012 the best year ever and the start to our youthful, healthy lifestyle!!

Kerrie - sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas! We have downsized to a townhome, so when all 5 kids are here it gets pretty tight - good thing we all enjoy being with each other :).

I actually took a new job in May...actually where I used to work, so we moved back up to north of the Twin Cities. All of our kids are done with high school - 4 are in college - 3 will graduate this Spring, so we'll be down to one in college and the rest on their own. Chris and I are enjoying our empty nest - we love to have the kids over, but we sure like our quiet time too!

Weightloss has been a struggle over the last year....I finally gave up on it, so that I could quit smoking and I am happy to say on the 30th I will be at my 3 month mark of not smoking! It's going quite well, now is time to get back to weightloss and exercise. Luckily where we live there is a club house and there is a fitness center in there, that we use at no charge - part of our rent.

So does anyone have any goals in their horizon? Rewards for reaching those goals? Ok that's one cool Christmas present I received - I had told my husband a while back that I would like one of those Pandora type Charm bracelets. Well that is what he got me for Christmas - only one bead.....then he said we will set goals for me and when I reach them, I will go select a new bead :). I just think that is the greatest idea - I think I should keep him around a while and love that he is here to support me!

Hi Annie so good of you to drop by and say Merry Christmas! I think of you often too and wonder if you ever go to the cabin during the winter or only in the warmer months? Hope you had a great holiday.

Neraus glad the tea kicked in and woke you up after partying and staying up too late!! LOL The lack of sleep is part of the season I'm afraid.

I had a great Christmas with hubby, son, daughter and son-in-law!! We are still in the apartment and having to have company sleep on a blow up mattress in the living room was horrible. They are planning another trip down to see us in the summer so we really hope to have our house by then and a spare bedroom with a nice comfy guest room or two. We did go down and see the Alamo and walk the riverwalk with all the Christmas lights on it looks so beautiful. We even stopped in at an Irish pub and sang some songs with the guy playing the piano. I got the some new Kswiss sneakers, workout pants, workout games for the Kinect, Bridesmaids and Just Go With It on DVD, a flat iron for my hair, Oil of Olay ProX kit and several gift card to shop-SANTA was good to me!!

Hope you all had a great Christmas and Santa was good to you too!! Take care and lets get busy in the New Year getting to our best health ever!!

Well I got a few more gifts tonight but I'm not done yet! Went and applied for two jobs today and hope they call for an interview. I really need to get back to school and get my degree, thing is I'm trying to figure out what I want to get it in. Not sure if I will go Human Resources or just buisness management. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the season so far. My daughter and her hubby will be here in a week and get to stay for 5 days!!! YEAH

I have had two weeks of small weight loss. First time in a long time. Lately I lose some gain the next week. Maybe I have found the right combination of food and exercise. I hope so.

I haven't done anything for Christmas yet. I plan to go out today and get my shopping done for my hubby.

I agree we are all so busy at this time of year that the chit chat has really slowed down, but I do miss catching up with you guys.

Toni congrats on the new puppy and I totally agree with you that Claudia will come around soon enough. Sorry you are having to put in such long hours - its good and bad (job security v. no time for yourself). I hope you are resting and getting back to some TM time.

Neraus so glad we don't have the snow here in San Antonio!! We had so much last year in Oklahoma that I can go a few years without seeing the white stuff. To be honest I love watching it come down and the blanket of white, but then I want it to melt off by the time I need to go out!!

Kellianne hope all is well for you in your neck of the woods.

Spiegy how goes the job? Are you still working crazy hours?

I don't know about you guys but I still have quite a lot of shopping to do. I had all my decorations done by the 1st and even went over to my Mom and Dads and helped them get their decorations up. Tomorrow I'm going out and I hope to get the majority of the shopping done. Take care all and keep in touch

Good Morning!
Didn't realize it had been so long since coming in here..... These long hours at work are really taking there toll on me. It is getting harder and harder to do anything else.
We did get a new puppy this weekend. A Neo Mastiff. She is 11 weeks old and so darn cute.
Claudia is being a bit of a snob to her, but that is expected. She will come around. Soon the puppy will be as big as her and then she will feel more comfortable around her I am sure.
The diet and exercise is pretty speratic right now. I really need to get some consistancy. I have to make the time, tired or not.
Sounds like everyone else has been or is as busy as I am. The holiday season just adds to the hecticness. Please stay safe and take time for yourself. I will do the same. I will try to get in here more as well.
Have a wonderful day all!

Toni

Snowing here. Cut short my shopping trip with my Mom for her birthday. She hates bad weather so the first flake she saw she headed home.

I lost three pounds last week but this week 1.5 came back. Still do not have a handle on this. The library is about a 2 mile round trip but it will be spring before I make that walk again.

Hello all!! We have been keeping busy. Hubby and I went to the San Antonio symphony on Friday and then to Wurstfest (a German festival) on Saturday. I have been spending time at my Mom and Dads just doing what I can to help and spending quality time. The house still has not sold and I'm beginning to think we should just move back there instead of losing money on the house. Hubby has a fantastic resume and if he can get the same $ there as he is making here we would be doing great-heck if we can afford a mortgage and rent we can afford to just have the mortgage!! I don't think it would be hard for me to find a job up there either with some of my old co-workers moving up in their companies and could give me a good reference.

Sounds like you guys are doing well on the exercise with walking, swimming and jogging. What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We are going to my sisters house where 3 of my sisters will be and my parents and some of the nieces and nephews-it will be fun and filling!!

Hope everyone is having a good start to thier weeks. Don't forget to make some time just for you!! TTYL

Hello All....not too happy with myself. I've been eating everything in sight and the scale is now telling the tale. Blah! On a good note, my anniversary was yesterday. Celebrated nineteen years my my hubby. Exercise took a dive again...too busy eating...but I did manage to walk the pups today. Felt nice to get out. Loving the slight crispness to the air. It's felt a lot like fall here. Know that won't last long.

Toni - hope you are able to work in some you time.

Nera - way to go on trying to get in a little bit of extra fitness. How far is the library?

Good Morning
I have no idea where the week went.... time just flies by all the time.
Sounds like you 2 have been keeping active. Great job!
Only lost 1.6 pounds last week, but still a loss, so I will take it.
Upping the exercise this week, see what that does for me.
Still working 12 hour days, really takes a toll me. So tired by the time I get home, I dont want to do anything. and going in so early not much time in the AM.
Well have a great day all! Enjoy the weather while it lasts.... the cold wet stuff is coming.

Lovely weather here but that changes on sunday when we get our first wintery mix of percipatation. Oh well knew it would happen sooner or later. Now I am off to walk to the library and return my books. Do an errand and get exercise done all in one shot. LOL!!!

Nera - swimming is a great workout. Hope you are enjoying it.

Lovely fall weather here today. Several showers and a crispness to the day. I've really enjoyed it. Not much else happening...just finished walking the dogs and looks like I'm in for the rest of the evening. Although I'm feeling rather restless...oh well.

Happy Veteran's Day to all and have a great weekend. Stay sparked!

Toni - 6 lbs down is awesome. And, as they say, slow and steady wins the race. Sounds like you are doing well at staying active.

Nera - sorry to hear you are feeling down in the dumps. I have a very small circle of friends too and rarely do anything social without my husband and family. Sometimes wish it was otherwise, but I love my family and enjoy spending time with them.

Kerrie - get up, get moving, you can do it. I can totally relate to wanting to park yourself in front of the tv and forget about anything else. But, I think we both know the exercise will make us feel better.

I've been awful at exercising again. Was helping with childcare at church last week and sitting on the floor with some toddlers. When I went to get up, I pulled my back. OUCH! Couldn't do any kind of exercise for three days. Back is still tender, but I've started walking the pups again and not doing too badly.

Loving the chillier weather in the mornings. Fall is my favorite season.

Good Morning
Hope everyones week is off to a good start?
Nera sorry to hear you are having a rough time. Things will turn around. I don't have a large circle of friends that I can go hang out with either.

Kerrie lets get out there and go for a walk! It is time for us all to get up off the couch and get moving. I will be putting us on the TM this morning. With the time changed back I am up at 3 again so extra time in the AM for TM.

Kellianne we did get some snow, not alot but might be indication of the winter we will have... We have some trees around here that have not let go of the leaves as well... It will probably be in a snow storm or something and what a mess to get cleaned up. Ugh.

I have been trying to do a little more exercise every day. Some days it is hard, but at the very least I get outside and run around with Claudia. She loves being able to go out in the front yard and run around now that we have a fence. So every night after work we have to go out and run and run and run. It is fun! I have also been raking leaves every night after work. Plus walking to and from work. So while not ALOT of exercise it is more than I have been getting. I will increase this week as well. The scale is slowly going down. Have lost a total of 6 pounds the past 3 weeks. Not large numbers but going in the right direction.

Have a fantastic day all! Get out and move that body.

Toni

The yearly went fine. I have to book a lab appt because they want to check vitamin D levels, glucose, cholesterol and a couple of other things. I really can't seem to lose weight. It seems the only way I do is if I go on a really strict calorie count and then I am hungry all the time. Something somewhere got out of whack for me and I am tired of seeing the weight slowly climb. It has been about 20 pounds gained back over the last two years. Sigh!!!

I am mostly walking now. I don't know what is going on with me and running. I want to do it but I never seem to get better or stronger or faster. It really wipes me out when I run. I was running the other day outside and this lady WALKED by me as if I was standing still. So another mystery I have yet to figure out.

I am a little down today. There are a ton of craft shows going on and I thought it would be fun to get some friends and go to a couple. I would have settled for one person to go with me. Well I can't find a single person to go with me. The hubby will if I make him but that won't be fun for either of us. I never realized that I have a tiny circle of friends and family to do things with. Sorry for the downer post just have a few things in life right now that are kind of bringing me down.

I hope everyone else is having a super healthy fun weekend.

Kellianne I'm having the same problem with checking in to SP It's not that I have kids on my computer but its just getting harder to motivate myself for anything these days. I really need to get on some form of regular schedule so I don't just sit on the couch and watch TV.

Toni sorry to hear that Sierra didn't work out, I'm sure she will find a good home. I like the idea of getting a puppy that way there won't be the fight for dominance and Claudia will get to feel like a Momma dog and train her young companion.

Neraus hope your dr appt went well and that you got to have some fun too. Are you still out running?

My leg is feeling better and I have been trying to do a little exercise each day. Tomorrow I plan on going to a nice long walk. I also plan on going to lunch with my Mom although she doesn't know it yet!! LOL We are past hump day so we can see the weekend in sight

Kerrie - hope that leg heals quickly. Do remember to take it easy until it is healed. You don't want any further damage.

Nera - hope your overload is soon just a distant memory.

Toni - so glad to hear you are feeling better and sorry about Sierra. Definitely sounds like you are in for some snow soon. Stay warm and healthy.

Loving the crisp mornings here and really enjoying crunching the leaves underfoot while walking the pups. Of course, it's nothing like a normal autumn where there are leaves everywhere. Crazy thing about living in So. California is there are leaves that are turning on some trees and other trees that are just blossoming.

Not getting a chance to spend much time on SP. Seems one of the kids is always looking to use the computer these days. But, please know I'm thinking of you all and will check in as often as possible.

Good Morning!
Nera thank you. We are going to hold off for a while on the dog search.
enjoy your "me" time today! Hope all is good with the yearly.

I lost another 2 pounds last week. Not big numbers, but definately going in the right direction. Especially since I didn't exercise last week either. I will be getting back into the exercising this week. I believe everything is finally clearing up in the lungs. they feel good. Still cough a little something up every once in a while, but all in all they are good.

They are saying we will be getting snow this week. Hope not, need to get the leaves that are just letting go on the trees cleaned up. What a mess that could be.

Have a great day all!

Toni

Oh Toni sorry it didn't work out with your new saint. Our dog did the submission peeing when we first got him. But he seemed to grow out of it. I suppose the new dog was trying to figure out it's place in the pack. I hope poor Claudia didn't get hurt. I wish you luck in your search.

I have a half day off tomorrow. Have my yearly physical but will have some bump around me time too.

Good Morning!

We found a beautiful, sweet loving saint(Sierra) that Claudia got along with. They rode the whole way home just fine. Took her in for a bath. Once we got her home, things changed. She started growling and nipping at Claudia. We kept them separated for the night. First thing this morning, Sierra attacked Claudia, so we are going to take her back. Poor Claudia. We thought that if we got a dog around the same age, that it would be easier on Claudia. Maybe we need to find a puppy. I don't know.... I just want Claudia to be happy.
Sierra is really a great dog. She is smart, gentle(except with Claudia), sweet. you can tell that she may have been beaten by a former owner. When I was scolding her for attacking Claudia she cowed down and peed. You could see she was afraid she was going to get hit. She won't get on the couch at all. She will not go down the hall to the bedrooms. It is sad. She would be a great dog to own for someone that does not have another dog. The cat she is just curious about, but does not attack her.

Kerrie take care of that leg. Don't try to do too much too soon. The lack of patients is a fault of mine as well, end up doing more damage or getting more sick because of it....LOL

Have a great day all!

Hey Toni let us know if Claudia gets along with another St. Bernard and you bring home a buddy. Its tough getting a new pet after just losing one but know this you gave Tootsie such a great life and she would want you to share that with another lucky pet.

Take care of those lungs and get some rest after those 10 to 12 hour work days.

Leg has been bothering me some today and it just aggravates me because I think it should feel better by now (I'm not a patient person)!! LOL

Have a great weekend all - tomorrow I think we are going to see Real Steel and have some lunch out!! TTYL

Good Morning!
The gang is all here! emoticon

Kellianne it sounds like you had a good week. I think we have a cupcake place in Reno but have never been. It is OK to treat our selves every once in a while, as long as we don't over indulge. I am sure the extra steps have taken care of it. Great job on the walks!

Nera ahhh work over load... nothing like it. Hope the pile goes down smoothly for you. Congrats on the new position. Have a great visit with your son today!

Kerri I kinda figured you were in OK. You definately got in the exercise with painting and cleaning... How nice that your daughter was able to meet you there and spend some time with you. Sorry to here about your leg hope it continues to mend cause I am starting to feel better and we are going to start some serious walking this coming week.

Thank you for the well wishes with Tootsie. It is hard. We are taking Claudia and my granddaughter out to the St. Bernard rescue this afternoon. It is a couple hours from here. Want to make sure that if we do get one, that Claudia likes her and that she is good with kids. I have mixed emotions about it. I know Claudia needs a companion and I know the sooner the better from past experience. I just still miss Tootsie so much and feel like we are replacing her, though I know we are not.

I am feeling better the past couple of days. It has been in the 20's in the mornings here this week so I have not tempted fate and have not walked all week. Figured I might as well just take this week and heal up these lungs. Seems to have worked. I am ready to get to it.
I have still been working the long 10-12 hour days but getting alot of rest this week when not working.

I better get to paying my bills and getting some stuff done so we can head out. Have a fantastic weekend!

Toni

Sorry I have been MIA ladies we took a trip to our "vacation" home to do some cleaning, packing and got the carpet replaced now the whole house has brand new carpet and most of it has new paint. We were lucky enough to have my daughter and her hubby come to Oklahoma too so it was a nice visit and we got alot accomplished while there.

Neraus was to go on getting a new position at your work, I'm sure once everyone is trained your worklife will get back to normal. Way to go on losing weight and keeping your walks going. Have fun this weekend at your son's college family weekend.

Toni so sorry you are fighting a chest cold-take it easy and let those lungs heal. Big (((hug))) for you and Claudia for the loss of your furry baby. I love being a pet owner and probably will always have a couple pets but the hard part is knowing they will most likely pass before you do. I really hope we all get to be together again on the other side. You sound like you are doing well on your eating and exercise-keep up the great job.

Kellianne sounds like a fun fall break with the family. Stay on your son about his work, my son pushed it so far that he had to take several night school courses to graduate with his class. Good job on getting in your walks.

I have not been doing planned exercise but with all the packing and unpacking I feel like I have done a marathon. I did pull something in my right leg and boy did it make it hard to walk for a few days. This happened Monday and it still hurts a little mostly towards the end of the day but its definetly on the mend.

Take care all and have a great weekend!! TTYL

It has been TOM this week so pretty tired. Plus work continues to be quite a battle. I have finally figured out where I am at with this new position I am in. And where I am at is at the bottom of a very large pile of ****. LOL!!!

But tomorrow we got to visit our son at college it is family weekend. My sister is going with. Should be fun.

Nera - sounds like you are on overload. Good luck getting everything caught up at work.

Toni - so sorry to hear you still aren't feeling well. My condolences about your dog. Not an easy thing to deal with. I hope you will find a new friend for your other pup very soon.

It's been fall break this week. So, I took a week's vacation and have spent the last week with the kiddos. It's been a nice break. My husband also took Monday and Tuesday off. Went to Disneyland Monday and spent the day enjoying the parks and the fun. Our annual passports were expiring and we wanted one last trip. Tuesday we went to the movies together. Not much on Wednesday, but yesterday the kids and I took a trip to the San Fernando Valley to visit Crumbs Bake Shop. They have yummy delicious cupcakes that I like to splurge on every now and again. Today, Friday, has been spent catching up on housework. Next week it's back to the rat race.

Have managed to walk just about every day this week. Even managed to walk a little further than normal. Now I just need to walk off the cupcakes.

Good Morning!

Nera thank you, she is missed terribly.

Hope everyone is having a great week. So far so good. Getting in a few extra steps. It is 20 degrees this morning and since I have to go into work even earlier I don;t think it is a good idea to walk this morning. Keeping warm is not a problem, just don't want to breath the cold air. My chest is getting really congested and I don't need to get the pneumonia back.

Hope to see a good drop on the scale this Saturday. Hubby and our daughter and I are all doing this together. Makes it much easier.

Have a great day all!

Toni

Good Morning!

Still hanging onto this dang cold. Dropping down into the chest, need to take it easy so the pneumoia doesnt come back. Watched what I ate last week and walked to work (not a very brisk pace) and lost 2.4 pounds last week. Was hoping to be feeling better so I could really start working out more. Happy to be losing anyway.

One of my dogs, Tootsie died Saturday night. Her stomach flipped on her and by the time we got her to the hospital she dies on the x-ray table. It has been so hard on all of us. Claudia is so depressed. I know we have to find her a friend right away, it just feels so awful. We put in the application to adopt another St. Bernard since there are so many that need homes and I think Claudia really needs another Saint to be her buddy.

Hope everyone has a great week! I will attempt to get in some kind of exercise no matter what.

Okay my computer doesn't seem to like sparks and doesn't want to load the pages. What a pain. My work is kind of crazy because I took over doing the billing for medical assistance. So I am learning to do that while trying to train my replacement and a temp who is suppose to be helping me get caught up. So many people in our dept are sick from allergies or something. Still trying to work out. Have had two weeks in a row with small weight loss. But then the son came home from college and I think I gained it all back. LOL!!!

Good Morning!

Kellianne you have had your hands full that is for sure. Hope it all mellows out soon. I feel for you on the aches and pains..... My knee and foot is so messed up but I know alot of it is from the weight, so I am pushing past the pain and hoping it pays off in the end.

I walked to work yesterday. felt good. Still trying to clear this dang head cold, but all in all it is not too bothersome. Ended up working a 11 hour day and then walked home. Pretty wiped when I got home so just ate a quick dinner and off to bed.

I have been doing better on the nutrition, though I need to still control a few things. Definatly in the right direction. I need to remember my snacks... I have grapes, yogurt, apples all at work but get so busy I don't have time to eat. I know with my metabolism I need to eat small meals/snacks through out the day.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day. Week is half over! Lets get out and move our bodies!

I'm here! Sorry for not posting in so long. Been busy with too many silly little distractions.

Nera - good to see you back on the thread.

Toni - sorry to hear you are sick. Feel better soon!

Exercise has been pretty sporadic. Spending too much time playing taxi cab and have been dealing with a sore foot and sore hips. Mostly think it is the weather changes and this body feeling every creak and groan of aging. Know staying active would really help, but not really motivated when every move hurts.

One of the pups wound up in ER last week. He was having some urinary issues and my dad took him to the vet for tests. They ran an ultrasound and couldn't find anything wrong but finally discovered he may be diabetic. Anyway, the vet prescribed meds for him and my dad had the prescription filled and gave him the first dose. Several hours later the poor dog was glassy eyed, lethargic and really dopey. Turns out the medication the pharmacy gave him was not what he was supposed to get. Poor dog spent the night in the pet hospital for fluids and a charcoal flush to get the meds out of his system. Thankfully there doesn't seem to be any lasting effects.

Spending a lot of time trying to get my son back on track at school. His language arts grade has been really bad. Then, last Thursday, I discovered he had two weeks worth of homework due in Math the next day and he hadn't done any of it. I spent six hours supervising him while he got it done. Wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been from nine at night until three in the morning. And, yes, he did make it through school the next day. I certainly wasn't letting him stay home. He learned a very hard lesson....I hope.

Good Morning!

Nera!! Hello!! Good to see you! How has life been treating you?

Kerrie where are you hiding? How is the exercise going?

Kellianne how are you feeling? Are the dogs doing better?

I have a dang head cold and sore throat now... but nothing I can't live with. We went and hiked Spooner Lake saturday... way too soon. about half way through I got really dizzy and about passed out. I keep forgeting I am still recouporating. Yesterday just cleaned house, straightened up the garage, cleaned up the backyard and got the fountain winterized and did the shopping. Once I sat down I thought.. UGH...LOL
Today is an easy day at work, since the showroom is closed, it is my day to just relax and catch up on the paperwork and phone calls.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hello everyone again. I seemed to have gotten unscribed from this thread. Since I wasn't getting notification I thought no one was posting. Goodness to far behind to catch up. I hope everyone is feeling better. That new strategies are working and good habits are forming. I have been trying to take long walks a couple of times a week. Eating less bread and more protein for breakfast. So far so good. I swear my pants are a smidge looser. LOL!!!!

Good Morning!

Speigy way to go with the fruits and veggies !!! emoticon Keep up the great work!

Kerrie sorry to hear the pool days are going emoticon I know you will be hitting the gym big time. You are so determined!
I don't get to spend near the time with my boys anymore as I use to either, it is hard. Glad your daughter had a great time in Hawaii. YES it is OK to be jealous! I am!

I am feeling much more human now. Still recovering but am back to work and moving around. I can not remember ever being so sick in my life. I slept really well last night, first time in a while. felt good. I don't know if I would say my nutrition is a little more under control or if it controlled me while being sick... but have cut down a bit. Still have some things I need to cut back out of my diet and definatly still need to up the fruits and veggies.
I am hoping to be able to start exercising this weekend. I know I still need to take it easy, still hard to breath at times, but I just want to start with some kind of exercise.

Better get the day started.... Have a wonderful day all!

Oh my goodness Toni I hope you are feeling better and the medicene is doing its job!! I'm sending you get well wishes and (((((hugs)))))

Spiegy great job on packing all that fruit to take to work-you are doing great.

I ate lots of veggies in my stir fry today and I will also have a peach for a snack later. I think the pool days are at an end, we are getting cool temps at night now and the day time temps just are not enough to keep the water warm enought ot swim!! :( Will have to move my workouts to the gym and use my DVD's.

Spent a nice day with my son today having lunch and shopping. He is 21 now so I know our Mom/Son only outings are going to slow down. My daughter just got back from her honeymoon in Hawaii and boy are her pics amazing-is it ok to be a little jealous of your own child???? LOL

Take care you guys and keep up the great job - TTYL

Oh, no!!! I hope you rest up some more and don't push it, especially with pneumonia! You really need lots of rest to give your body the strength to fight this and recover. Take it easy!!!

Good Morning!
It has been a rough week... Went back to the doctor on Thursday and found out it turned into pneumonia. Been on bed rest, heavy antibiotics and oxygen. Still not feeling so good, but better. Trying to go back to work today. Need to start feeling somewhat human. Figured today was a good day to try to go back since we are closed and can just deal with getting back in the swing of things. I would really like to start exercising, but that is still on hold for now.

Hope the week has been good for all of you. How is the exercise and nutrition going? Get in some exercise for me.

Have a great day!

I hope you stayed home today! Just think of it this way: no one actually WANTS you at work when you're that sick, so stay home and rest and let your body take care of itself.

Well, I packed up a big container of fresh strawberries, pineapple & grapes today, so that takes care of a big portion of my fruits & veggies today. And I think I'll have some cut up veggies with dinner tonight, so that will at least finish 3 servings for today.

Didn't end up walking at lunch yesterday, but we'll see about today...

Have a great day!

Good Morning!
Not feeling much better this morning. Going on day 3 of the antibiotic and other meds and still feeling the same. I really hope I feel better soon. I don't want to have to go back to the doctor. I went to work yesterday and they ended up sending me home early. I really do not feel like I should got today either, but I always feel so guilty for taking any time off. Don't know why. I know they just want me to get better. I am suppose to go to the dentist thursday but don't think that is such a good idea. I will change that appointment for next week.

Kerrie you are right, being mind full of the exercise and eating right is the first step. I am trying to do better as well. Hopefully soon I will be able to get busy with the exercise.

Have a great day all!

Well hope you had a very happy birthday Spiegy!! Sounds like you have a very active life right now on all sides. I think you are doing great and just being more mindful and getting in some more fruits and veggies is a great plan. The long visits and holidays are always eatting a challenge.

Toni hope you are feeling better.

I took my dog on a nice walk today but I don't think walking a Pomeranian for 10 minutes who constantly stops to smell the bushes counts as a good cardio workout!! LOL Take care all TTYL

Wow, I'm jealous of your daughter, too! I want to go to Hawaii!!

Toni, hope you're feeling better soon!

We had a busy week last week and through the weekend. Exercise - NO. Not happening yet. 3 servings of fruits & veggies a day? Not quite. I'm doing better than before, but still not there yet. Had a 4 day weekend for Rosh Hashanah, with loads and loads of eating - first at my sister's house, then we went to friends in Boston for 2 nights. Red wine? Yes, please. Then out for Japanese last night for my b-day, and a cookie cake. Yikes! We now have friends staying with us from out of the country and I know the next few weeks will be feasting and drinking wine. But will try to be somewhat mindful - if it's not raining today I'll try to head out for a quick 10 min. walk at lunchtime to get the blood pumping and clear my head.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hey Toni so sorry you are not feeling well. Take the time to get better and take those meds and get the rest you need. I am feeling a bit under the weather today not sure if its the coming of a cold or allergies but boy am I stuffed up. The weather here is nice-its in the upper 60's at night and upper 80's during the day!! Sure wish it could stay this way for a while. The wedding was lovely but we were busy with it from 1:00 to 11:00-thats one long wedding!! The reception was so nice with a full course dinner and open bar with a DJ. My daughter is finally on her honeymoon in Hawaii and she keeps sending these wonderful pics!! Is it ok to be jealous of you child??? LOL I have never been to Hawaii myself but we foot the bill for them to go-what is wrong with this picture? Hubby and I are thinking of going on a cruise in March to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary so I better get busy if I want to look good in my beachwear!! Take care all and keep the spark up!! TTYL
