Thanks, Manny! It was a great walk. We did 2 miles with 10 minutes of warm ups and 10 minutes of stretching after. I have lost 13.5 lbs since November-woohoo! I joined WW's right before the 5k training, the 2 go well together:)
Good morning, Manny! It's very warm here in California! I have my 5k training this morning and I'm ready to go! It's not even 7 am yet and it's already 62 degrees, it's gonna be a great walk in the park:)
Hi Sue, We definitely are, we are in the Caribbean and just left Jamaica where it was in the 90's, Hope all is well. So far I have been to the gym every other day and walk at least 2 miles daily when not at the gym. Cheers!!!
Thank you, Manny! I tried to thank you for the comment on my blog, but your page is set to private. I was so tired of laying in bed and doing nothing day after day, that I felt I had to go back to work or go crazy! Then only working a few days a week was just right, but now I'm glad to be working everyday, just for something to do with myself all day, not to mention the money:)
Hi S, Good morning. Congratulations on your job and being able to work full time after all you have been through. You are courageous. I didn't return to work and retired instead and enjoy beach activities and visiting the kids though I miss my job. I enjoy hearing from you, stay in touch. Manny
I have the spark activity tracker and it really does motivate you! I am in remission, since last December. I laid in bed for a year after chemo, then went back to work, but was only working 1-3 days a week. I just got a full time job about a month ago, and it's kicking my butt! But I love it! I have a reason to get out of bed everyday now:) and I'm making enough money to join WW's and do other things I love to do. Life is good and God is great! I had Stage IIIa, adenocarcinoma. It was in my lymph nodes under my arms, and a large tumor in a lymph gland on my esophagus. It is a miracle that I am still here! I had the main tumor on my right lung, but they shrunk that down to nothing with the radiation and chemo. I am now cancer free!
Welcome to our Team and great to hear from you, I appreciate your suggestion as I am a fan of Weight Watchers and SP. I now have a Fitbit and that is helping me keep track and is also motivating me to walk even more.
I hope your cancer is in remission and pray you will recover. It has been a little of a struggle for me as I had the surgery and then chemo which slowed me up quite a bit.
I am now at a pace where I can exercise without fatigue. Please stay in touch.
Hi there! I just joined this team because I am a Lung cancer survivor! My suggestion for you is Weight Watchers. I just joined weight watchers a month ago and I have lost 7 lbs. I think you only need to join for a month or two, until you get down the points thing, then you can do it on your own. I bought their point calculator, so I can keep track of everything I eat and count the points on the little calculator and it only cost $7. I take it with me everywhere I go, so I can figure out the points before I eat something. It works great with Spark people also, because I still use Spark for everything else but I think their daily calorie is a bit high. I never lost weight using the spark tracker and when comparing to the WW's points, I was way under on my daily calorie intake on spark. It's something you might want to check out anyways:) Good luck!
Hi Team, I changed my eating diet and schedules, where I eat smaller meals and manage my snacks. Mostly, I have given up sugar, no cakes or donuts and keeping fried foods to a minimum. Sparkpeople has helped me track my foods and ratios of protein, fats, and carbs.
Even though I exercise regulartly, I can't manage to make a breakthrough on my weight. Any suggestions out there?
