The texture of the citrus fiber drink is worse than the peaches and cream flavor so I guess I don't understand why. I can get the peaches one down easily. It does have a better flavor but its texture is better.

Hi I started my first 24 day challenge today! I've been using the spark energy drink for about a week and love it.

Thanks for the tip TIME2CHG. I just started my 3 cleanse and Citrus fiber is horrible! Wish I could only use peaches and cream…Will def be trying that today!

Hi! I'm Terri. I'm new to this group. I've been reading a lot about how to get the fiber drink down. I add it to a low-cal juice (banana-orange) & it is so much better than without. No gag reflex. I am on day 16 & have lost 7 lbs now plus 13lbs before I started Advocare. I have so much more energy already. I feel great. I have lost this weight many times before so I hope I can keep it off this time. Good luck everyone.

Italiabella - how are you doing?

Denise - How are things working for you?? What day are you on? (Or did you finish... sorry... can't remember!)

Maggs - What have you been doing? Is it working?

I have been doing really well on my consistency and working out... not so well on the eating side. I am still losing inches and my shape is definitely changing, but weight has remained the same (probably has something to do with the junk I'm eating).

awwww!!! Italiabella!! You gotta hang in there and get back on track as best you can!!! Just remember you and your husband won't be separated forever. I know it's hard. I work in the day time and my honey works at night. A lot of times I don't get to even see him until the weekend because we are literally ships passing in the night.

Don't let all your good work go to waste and you have to eat to keep your strength up!

Italiabella! Oh no! I am so sorry! I know how hard it is to be away from your home.. and without the spouse. I can only imagine how hard it is for you right now. Do your best and don't beat yourself up about the rest. Try to go exercise (hopefully the hotel has an exercise room)... when I can MAKE myself do just that, things start to fall closer in line... emoticon

Well I am doing horribly!! I officially moved into the hotel and my husband left for Virginia yesterday, so I am in the biggest funk ever. I need to shake it, but I don't feel like eating so I'm forcing myself. I took yesterday off completely and didn't even take any of the Advocare products. I haven't lost any weight, I miss my husband terribly, and I am now completely unmotivated.

MAGGS - That's emoticon !!!!! Doesn't it feel amazing?

I actually hit my official low of the year today! (still eating poorly due to being sick, but appetite is minimal, so my "bad" dinner was 1.5 pieces of a medium pizza)

I do miss the MNS... and I notice my appetite picks up from time to time without it. But I am SO bad about remembering to take them, that a box will usually last me almost a month... some days I get the breakfast packs, some days the lunch... then I have 1/2 strips all over the place that I collect and start again emoticon So, since I started with Advocare last October, I will take a month or two off the MNS, then order a box... and repeat. But I also tend to wax and wane in my motivation and eating, so they usually correspond.

Oh my goodness Sam - lowest of the year!!! Thats AMAZING!!!! CONGRATS! You must feel SO good. Well. for being sick...you must at least be proud :) I totally think you can maintain 148 while you're at the training course - just remember water and snacks!!!

Question for ya - so you're not using the MNS - have you noticed any difference being off of it? I'm still on it and trying to decide whether or not I want to stop (financial reasons), but I don't want to stop my success with the program, you know?

P.S. Tried on a new coat yesterday - first time I've been able to buy a SMALL! Oh my goodness it feels so good.

MAGGS! Welcome back!
I'm sorry to hear you've plateaued, but it's better than gaining, right??

I've been sick and haven't done diddly for 2 days. Finally back up and moving today... eating has been random - mainly carbs, since soups etc that I don't make myself tend to have noodles etc (and lots of sodium). BUT, I am down to almost my low for the year!! I'm 0.2lbs above the lowest I've made in 2013. I am SO excited!

I leave town for a 2 week training course (complete with cafeteria food for the entire 2 weeks...), so my goal is to be under 148 before I leave... and to try not to gain more than a pound while I'm gone. They do have a workout center, so I'm planning to figure out a way to keep up my exercise while I'm there... not sure how that will work.

As for what I'm sticking with, I'm still using Catalyst (at least 2 in the morning), my Omegaplex (at least 2 with breakfast... sometimes I remember at dinner too) - and my spark (at least once a day if not twice - do you have any idea how GOOD warm spark feels on a sore throat? AMAZING!). I ordered Thermoplex for the first time and have been taking 1-2 of those the last few days too.

Denise, Italiabella - how are you doing??

Hey all! I was actually apart of this board or awhile, but for some reason it stopped notifying me that you were all posting on it!

I finished the challenge about a couple weeks ago (and to sam, CONGRATS on finishing!!!!!! sorry I completely missed that! How are things going post-challenge? are you going to continue on anything - besides spark, of course!),

but anyways, I have been on a plateau. I've lost a couple more pounds, but have remained at a pretty consistent weight for a little while. Can't seem to shake it! But I agree on the tea - it seems to tide over my hunger too! I need to remember to keep drinking water.

Sounds like everyone here is doing great on their challenges! Love that we have sparkpeople to talk to one another.

SAM1AM - Tea sounds like a good tip! Maybe I'll try it!!! I actually bought the Skinny Rules on my Kindle and read it but didn't really take to it. Let me know how it works for you.

I also ran out of the smoothie mix and on my last Mandarin orange spark. Thank goodness my is to be delivered tomorrow!

Completed my workout this evening after being off since Friday. It was just a busy weekend but now I'm back at it.

Hi All!

I took the weekend "off" - and started following Bob Harper's "The Skinny Rules" today.
The hardest part of my morning was... I used the last 1/2 scoop of Spark this morning!!! emoticon
Fortunately, I tracked my order online and it's set to deliver today emoticon

Denise - I have hungry times too and have found that tea is one of my favorite friends... or a warm spark. I hope you get it figured out!

Still hanging in there! Looks like I lost another inch on my waist and .5 inches on each thigh and even my butt! So it seems like this stuff is really working!!!

I notice now that I've started taking the MSN packets that I'm hungrier in the evening. So I'll have to do something about that! I'll ask my coach about it. Cause a girl can't be that hungry!!!

ITALIABELLA1 - When you go to the hotel, make it as homey as possible. I know when I go stay at a hotel for a week or two, the first thing I do is unpack everything!!! I just can't function living out of a suitcase. Shoot! Go buy a bouquet of flowers! I do that too!! lol I just feel a lot better. Even if your food options are limited make sure you have plenty of those options handy.

SAM1SAM - How's it going for you?

I'm also ready for the next phase. Today was my last day of the fiber drink and now tomorrow I'm on to the next phase of copious amounts of supplements throughout the day! lol Just order more Mandarin Orange and Berry meal replacement. Figured I'd finish out the 24 days with Advocare. I was going to use a Whey Protein that I have at home but decided to just go all the way and see what happens.

That's a great weight loss! Although I'm sure you wanted more, but continuing just like you have been will help! I'm hoping to see good results when I get to the next phase. I started back with the dreaded fiber drink today, still mixing with OJ and I got it down with no problems!

My best friend had a double ear infection all week and weekend, it must be going around. Hope you are feeling better!

I am getting ready to hit a very stressful time. My husband took a new position about 16 hours away and I've been having a hard time finding something out there, so I'm stuck hanging back and waiting. They pack our house out this week and I'm still going to live there for another week, then starts my dreaded hotel stay. I'm hoping that I have gained enough skills to be able to eat healthy when my options are going to be limited!

SAM1SAM - That is a great loss regardless. Hope your ear clears up soon.

I need to order some Spark too! I like the Mandarin Orange. I warm it up and treat it as if it were coffee! lol

Didn't do my workout this evening. I am beat! I started off my day in two hour traffic, bad accident on the 405. The drive normally takes around 30 minutes not so today. So of course I had to stay later. And I just don't have it in me to workout this evening. So off to bed I go and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!

Hey everyone!
Great job over the weekend! It's always my challenge too.

I finished my 24 yesterday... not spectacular results, but I cheated (a lot). I also ended up with a horrible ear infection this weekend that left me barely able to stand - so ended up eating Ramen (sodium!) etc... just to make it through. So, I ended with a 5.2lb and 5inch loss.

I'm continuing the burn/refuel cycle for now. Treating today just like yesterday and hoping to get rid of a bit more. I am almost out of Spark though... which is critical to my functioning at 4:30am for working out... so I need to get an order in soon! lol

ITALIABELLA - emoticon on your self control this weekend! I think I would have caved in on one drink!

I did well this weekend. I was a busy lady. I had to cook two weeks of meals because we are going out of town next weekend. I don't cook dinner through the week. I don't like coming home to cook. I'd rather get my workout in.

Then I had to go out to three different stores to buy stuff but my favorite store was of course, Home Depot! I'm working on revamping a old dresser. Had to get a darker paint color because I didn't like the color I had previously used. It's black. Don't know if you can call black a color! lol Well anyways I'm satisfied now!

I stayed well within my calorie range! I hardly eat on the weekends but I made myself. And I did cave and had a glass of wine. But I can say this, I'm down a few pounds but I'm not counting them just yet! emoticon

After my extreme hatred of the fiber drink, I've actually missed it the last three days. I love how full I feel when I drink it, I'm full all day and that's perfect for me at work because that's when I'm so snacky usually. This weekend has been a test as we've had a party and a country festival. I stayed completely away from alcohol, even after a friend bought shots for everyone, and put one in front of me. I feel pretty good about that. I haven't lost any more weight over the past two days, so I'm still hoping for inches after it's all said and done!

How did everyone else do this weekend?

SAM1AM - Congrats on losing 2.5 inches! That is emoticon ! It is great to get in to a pair of pants minus the muffin top! lol

ITALIABELLA - That's great that you lost 1.5 lbs. It's a good loss. I'm sure your bloating issues will go away soon. Mine went away but will be back come Monday because of that fiber drink. emoticon

I just found out from my coach that I have to take that vile fiber drink come Monday morning. Too bad they don't make you take that stuff six days in a row so you can get it over and done but what can a girl do. To me, it starts off bad but then by the third day it's not as bad! emoticon

I can't believe I lost so many inches in one week so it makes me want to stay on plan which is a good thing.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wow, you two are doing great losing those inches! I've lost 1.5 pounds as well as of this morning, but actually gained .5 inches on my waist (between chinese and the bloat I've been feeling, I'm not surprised!).

I was so happy to avoid that fiber drink this morning, but then I was hungry by lunch. So it was definitely keeping me fuller all morning and I missed that today haha!

Denise - WOW! 4 inches off your waist is emoticon !!!
I want to mention that I was 12 pounds for "normal" BMI when I did my first challenge and I am typically fairly active, so 5 pounds for me was huge (I had been unable to get the scale to budge for almost a year).

Italiabella - we all have "cheats" - good job not having rice and having lots of veggies. I'm sure the salt will affect you for a day or two (it always does me), but in the grand scheme of things, not a big deal. Keep at it!

I finish my challenge on Sunday - so Monday will be my weigh in and measurements... but I couldn't resist today and measured my waist... and I'm down 2.5 inches emoticon ! (I did this because my favorite jeans had NO muffin top any more this morning - straight out of the dryer! ... so I knew something was happening!)

Anyway, yesterday was good - stuck to plan except that I gave in and had 1 cup of coffee. It just smelled WAY too good. It didn't taste as good as it smelled, but it was still a wonderful treat. Then I made my dinner (with extras for lunch today) and even sliced up 2 sweet potatos and baked them into "chips" for my carb this afternoon. YEA!

emoticon emoticon

Hi ITALIABELLA1!!! Glad you also just started. I don't want to be in here alone when others have completed it and gone on! lol (And I hope those that are finish come back because if I see some good results I'll definitely go in for another three weeks!)

I did my measurements today, cause I just got to know, and I've lost 4 inches in my waist already!!! Talk about encouragement! I've lost 1.2 lbs which isn't a whole lot but I have to remind myself that I seem to lose inches first then hopefully weight. lol

I normally have one low calorie "cheat" meal a week and this week it was Panda Express. Probably not the best on the challenge, but I'm still under my daily calories and no rice...only vegetables. However, the bloated feeling was going away and now it's back full force! I feel silly for cheating so soon in, but hopefully this is a good lesson that will keep me going for the rest of the challenge. I'm trying to stay positive and not beat myself up too much!

Hey Denise! I started Tuesday. I'm glad to have someone else doing their first time on here as well!

Thanks for the welcome SAM1AM!

Okay, so you did lose but looks like you lost a lot of inches. I could be happy with that! lol

I feel you on the carbs. My body does not do well on them. I get so sleepy when I've eaten them so I also try to stay with the high protein/veggies.

emoticon Denise!

Yes, I also felt some bloating, but it went away after about day 3... though everyone is different.

You asked about what loss was for others - I did my first 24 about this time last year and lost 6lbs, 13 inches. I was excited! I'm almost at the end of my 2nd 24 (Monday is day 24) and I'm only down 5lbs - haven't measured since the end of the cleanse, but I was already down more than an inch in my waist alone at that point.

I think the main thing for me is how I FEEL. I went rogue last night and had pizza and was in AGONY all night - honestly, I'm surprised that I slept at all. So, I know that the lower fat and carb, higher protein & freggies really works for me. It gives me more energy (I'm really sluggish this morning even after a 3 mile walk/run) and minimizes my cravings. The loss is good... I'm still trying to get to that "healthy" BMI, but when I'm feeling good... I kind of forget about that part.

I mixed the fiber drink with apple juice and it made it so much easier to go down. I did feel a little bloated through that phase and it seems to have gone away. I think it's because that stuff is basically phsyllium husks and that is normally what it does. I actually have some of that stuff and it comes in handy when you feel, back up! lol TYI I know but there it is. lol

Hello everyone!!! My name is Denise and I just started the 24 day challenge on Monday. I've been doing it faithfully since Monday...lol And I hope to stay that way throughout the 24 days.

I noticed that someone on my job; looked like he lost a lot of weight. Of course I had to ask him how he did it and he told me about Advocare, hence the reason I am here! I really don't know how long it took him to lose it but you could really tell that his stomach went down considerably. He has lost around 30 pounds. I'm doing the challenge with him also and his wife. (He also told me that a lady had completed the challenge and lost 20 lbs and 20 inches!) I want those ding dang results! lol But regardless of what I lose, I'm in it for the next 24 days.

Me on the other hand, I haven't lost not one pound as of yet and of course you know I was expecting to lose a few by now.

What I want to know is how much did everyone in here lose in their first week? Cause I'm starting to freak out. I even make sure my calories stay in check; around 1500 calories per day. I drink a ton of water each day and make sure I eat 2 to 3 hours. I exercise 5 days a week which consists of doing the Chalean Extreme Program from beach body.

Today was much better! I mixed it with a little orange juice and I couldn't taste it at all! I was really worried!

I am bloated, I guess that will go away eventually?

Italiabella -Personally, I think the citrus works better (having used both in the past year)... but maybe that was because my eating was SO bad before my first 24...
How did this morning go?

Dang, I got the citrus. I will have to try adding the Spark and seeing if that helps. I also just had the Pink Lemonade Spark and it wasn't my favorite, so maybe if I mix the two I can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

The fiber drink is evil (though the Peaches and cream is less so)... I mixed mine with more water - it was more to drink, but easier to swallow. Plus, I just made myself get through it and then guzzled water! lol

I'm on day 18 and haven't been 100% on plan, but I am down 5 pounds, so I'm happy about that. I couldn't get through all my food yesterday (refuel), but did my best. I got up and did my 45 minutes on the treadmill again today - with a few arm exercises. Tonight I'm going to throw in my Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred to get in more strength training. (I really miss the gym and my workout buddy... only 9 more days...)

That will be good that you're already used to eating that way! I know that was the biggest difference for me. And actually thats what making the post-challenge so challenging! I have maintained a good diet and exercise for the most part (For now, I am still doing the MNS, catalyst, and fish oil). I have given in to some cravings and have recently had some really bad eating days (stress-induced!) , but for the most part, I have been doing great! And I've lost an additional 3 pounds since I finished the challenge, of which I'm really proud!

I always eat a lot whenever I'm feeling down about myself. So now I'm simply trying to challenge myself to think more positively and forgive myself if I slip up and give into a craving. Some days are better than others, but I'm celebrating every "better" day.

And as for the spark, yeah I love that stuff! Makes me think so much clearer! I have been trying to save money, so 1-3 days a week, I'll bring back my coffee :) let me know if adding spark to the fiber drink helps ya!

I'd love to hear about your continued "after challenge" status!

Everything else is pretty good. The food plan is basically what I follow anyway so I'm hoping that's not too much of a difference. I really liked the spark and still feel energetic 5 hours after taking it. I'm looking forward to my afternoon drink because that's really where I feel sluggish.

Welcome!!!

So happy you joined us! Congrats on Day 1! I totally know what you mean, the fiber drink can be completely unbearable. Try mixing in some of your Spark with it - that helped me and while its still not the BEST, its SO much better than it used to be. Plus you are only drinking the fiber drink for like a week, right? In the big scheme of things, its not so bad if you try mixing some spark into it!

Congrats on the 25 pounds - thats truly an amazing accomplishment. I hope advocare can help you even more on your journey! I just finished my challenge and have been posting about life afterwards, but feel free to post as much as you want here! How have things been going besides the fiber drink?

Hey everyone. It seems there are a few people left on this board to chat with about AdvoCare. This is my first time using it, started today with Day 1 of the cleanse. I've lost 25 pounds since the first of the year just by exercise and eating right, but I've been stuck for a couple of months so I'm hoping this will jump start me again. Everything seemed to be going well this morning, until I got to the Fiber Drink! It was so incredibly gross that I gagged the entire time and could also get down half of it. Then I was nauseous for an hour and everytime I even think about it I feel nauseous again. I barely was able to get the chocolate shake down because I was still so sick from the fiber. I emailed my advisor, but any tips from those who have used it before? I have no idea how I can even consider taking it again tomorrow. It makes me sick to think about it.

Glad to hear you had a good eating day yesterday! And exercise really helps too, so thats fantastic you've been doing so much! What day are you on by the way??

I've been going through a little hot n cold eating myself...I think my biggest mistake was when I went grocery shopping, I allowed myself a little more wiggle room (wasn't as strict) , which made me kinda wiggle my way into binging on a lot. I got rid of everything bad I could reach for and am REALLY hoping to get back on track tomorrow. If I come home exhausted, I tend to have more cravings. And if I have food that will please those cravings, I'll attack it! So here's to trying again :) thats all we really can do!

Good luck adjusting to your new work situation! Remember to bring snacks!!!

Hey Maggs! Congrats on the pound! (every pound counts!!)

I've been hot and cold with my eating... had major news at work late Friday morning that is going to completely change my job... not necessarily bad, just change - and change is stressful. That started my bad eating - though I was still making ok choices, just not on plan. I took Saturday morning off exercise, but jumped back in Sunday. It is MUCH harder to get up and do it on my own (at home) than when I am picking up my buddy and heading to the gym... but we're texting to try to keep each other motivated. She ended up taking Sat and Sun off.

Anyway, scale has gone down a touch. Not huge, but I'm below where I was when we started exercising, so that's good emoticon
Ate great yesterday until I realized I hadn't had enough calories... then ate a bowl of fruit loops! lol
Today I have everything packed and have been hungry, but sticking to plan.

Hey Sam!

Just checkin in - hows it going?! Still workin on that exercise?! I'm REALLY rootin for ya and I know you can reach your goal by New Years! I'm actually hoping I can do the same - we can work together!

Since I last checked in, I lost another pound! (what!) Haha I've been really good about trying to stay on track and even within the last couple of days, I was under a LOT of stress so I let myself do some BIG cheating, and I didn't gain that pound back! Yesterday I forgot to bring my lunch so when I got home at like 5, I ate SO much. More than I wouldve if I remembered my lunch! I need to remember to always bring my lunch and snacks.

Hey Maggs!
Congrats on another pound!!
Tonight, when I got home... I discovered another reason for weight gain... TOM emoticon
(Mine is really sporadic, so I never know... Lol)
Anyway, I get two more days with my friend exercising... Then get to do it on our own for 2 weeks. I am determined to get to my goal by the end of 2013... So i am determined to keep this up.
Looking forward to the scale moving in the next couple of days... emoticon

Hey Sam! Sorry I haven't been updating - things have been pretty crazy lately!

Congrats on finishing the cleanse phase!!! Three pounds is awesome! And you've got 14 more days during which I'm sure you'll only lose more! The important thing is that you're feeling so good. No spark - wow! Haha I don't think I will ever be able to manage without caffeine lol.

I actually have been trying to find ways to make advocare cheaper because as much as I LOVE it, I can't keep affording it. So I've started occasionally drinking coffee and occasionally drinking Spark for my morning boost. Hoping that will make my spark supply last a little longer!!

After my HORRIBLE pms break down (lol), I have been doing absolutely FANTASTIC. I think I'm just going to have to give myself a little more of a break during that time of the month. As you said, try to stick to it 80% of the time! But since then, I've lost another pound and have been feeling really good and LOOKING really good. Lovin how my clothes are fitting! This is the fun part!

I'm so glad you're lovin the exercise- I gotta get goin again on that!

Well, my cleanse phase is done. Didn't do as well as I'd hoped, but that was my own fault. Still, I'm down 3 pounds (probably more, but I stared regularly exercising on Saturday morning, so I know my body is holding on to everything right now). Today is day 1 of the burn phase and I'm feeling great! The exercise is hard (following a friend's plan from the 21 Day Jumpstart to Skinny by Bob Harper), but I know it's good for me and it does feel good.

I haven't even needed Spark the last few days... amazing what exercise first thing in the morning will do!

Updates! How are you??

Hey Maggs! The AdvoCare team that I'm in has their own eating plan for the 24DC - they have nutritionists and they've devised the plan for "optimal" results. The burn days don't have any fruit or carbs. The refuel days you have 1 fruit and 2 carbs. So, starting Sunday, I'll have 3 burn days, then a refuel and repeat to the end of the 24. I remember the burn days being the most challenging for me, but they sure build body definition and drop the weight, so I can survive it for 14 days (well, if it's only 3/4 I suppose it's only 11 days).

Hang in there and try to jump back in as quickly as you can - even for 80% of the day! You don't want to eat too much junk and gain back what you just had the motivation to get rid of!! (Trust me, I've been there!)

Hey Sam! Ah! Love the muscle definition! I didn't do the DVD's but I wanted to - I bet they would totally kick my butt.

What did you say about the burn phase not allowing any fruit? I never heard you couldnt eat fruit! Explain this!

And you can totally hit 10lbs! If I could do it, you can! And I even cheated a couple times on it! Except now, I've been having some issues - I just so happened to have finished the challenge right before I got my period. HORRIBLE timing. I feel like I'm relapsing because I just have SO many cravings its ridiculous. I dont wanna get all into it here - I'll be writing a blog post after this! But oh man I'm struggling. NEED to make tomorrow better!

As for my measurements, I just got access to my original measurements yesterday, but with all my bad eating post- challenge, I feel like I'm not at my best to compare the measurements! PMS is really messin me up. i'll keep you updated!!!

Hey Maggs! It's a new day and we can do this! emoticon Did you ever get your measurements from your challenge? How'd you do?

Goodnite - how is it going?? You should be finished with the cleanse, or right at the end, right? How did it go? How do you FEEL? emoticon

I realized that with my "bad" weekend, I somehow missed a full day (didn't take my probiotics or herbal cleanse)... so I'm adding another day in. Which is fine. I haven't been sticking 100% like I should be, but I'm doing at least 80% - and losing weight... and feeling better, so I'm happy with that. Last time I struggled on the burn phase without fruit... but I'm going to adopt my 80% mentality and just keep it up. I'm hoping (huge stretch) to lose 10 pounds this time. From where I am this morning, I have 8 pounds to get into the "healthy" range... I am SO ready to be there!

Did either of you do the exercises along with the 24 DC? I am doing the at home and have been shocked at how weak I am! I'm doing the "beginner" sets and it says to do 2 sets, I'm lucky if my arms haven't gone to failure by the end of the first set! But, I'm doing at least some of the exercises every day and I was actually noticing some muscle definition forming in my arms!!!! emoticon

Hey Sam! I completely failed too! So many carbs! So much sugar! It was ridiculous. But hey congrats on the 0.4 pounds! We gotta stick together - make this week count! Make sure to get a lot of protein in each meal. I always forget that one.

I want to feel good this week so I'm not gunna try to cheat at all.

Happy Monday!

I completely failed this weekend... had very few fruits/veggies and lean meats! Had carbs and sugar and alcohol. But, somehow, still lost 0.4 pounds!

So, I'm on the wagon today and ready to keep this losing streak up!

Who's with me???!!

Hey, Maggs!

Good luck at the Baseball game - can you at least take some veggies with you to minimize? (That always helps me.)

As for the 2 lbs, I had gained them in 1 day, so I don't really count them. If I was to say what I lost it would be 0.2 (if I skip the weight I was on Day 1 and look at day -1 to day 2... ).

Have a great weekend everyone! Catch you on Monday!

Hey Sam! Totally can relate to being thrown into situations where you really have no option BUT to eat something off the Challenge menu. Sounds like you did a great job of working around it though!!! Ooh 2 pounds already?! Thats awesome! Be careful not to over think the scale too much - it can drive a person mad. I think I'm going to stick to weighing myself once a week while I'm still trying to lose.

And thanks so much for your support! I know, I'm pretty pleased about my 10lbs in 24 days. Definitely a new record for me.

Tonight I'm going to a baseball game and I know there is just going to be massive amounts of horrible options...I'm going to try to do the best I can, but I'm not sure there's a way around this one. Wish me luck!

Hey Maggspie! 10- pounds in 24 days is AMAZING! Have you ever done that before? I know I haven't!

First day was hard, but I expected that. I fell asleep on the couch after work (no protein does that to me - so glad today is different!) - and, when I woke up, DH had made pastalaya. There was no getting away from it... so I had a SMALL serving of mainly meat (shrimp & chicken) with a big salad for dinner and kept on going.

I'm one of those that weighs themselves every morning (except sometimes on the weekend)... and I'm already down the 2 pounds I gained (mostly from salt I'm sure) on my free day plus 0.2. Totally happy. And I feel pretty good too - though I'm still a little tired. Having 1/2 a spark now to get over that.

Anyway, Hope you're both doing well! And have a great weekend!

Hey Sam! I did the same thing before I started! Haha get in all the "goods" (which were actually the "bads") before making the big change! Love it! But yeah, definitely makes you feel SO much better when you start eating better! Don't worry about the measurements now - You've got new measurements to look forward to in 24 days!

I actually wrote my measurements down at my apartment which I wont have access to for another 4 days...i'll keep ya updated on that, BUT I know they've gotten better. That catalyst has been doing amazing things for my muscle tone. Weighed myself this morning and I lost 10 lbs!!! Kinda wish I had lost more, but I'm okay with it! Instead of killing myself to never cheat, I have been cheating sometimes, as I would in life. So naturally, the weight is gunna come off more slowly! I've got some more to go, but I'm going to continue to do the spark, catalyst, mns, and omega for a little while to keep up the motivation!

stay strong guys!

Happy Thursday!

Started my 24DC this morning. And, after a "do whatever" day yesterday, boy do I need it! I ate too much of too many things yesterday and was so ready to start this morning! Of course, woke up with a headache, but I expected one today anyway, so I'll cope!

Took measurements and was a bit sad, but also motivated and somewhat encouraged that, even though they have gone up, they aren't where they were last year at this time - so that's always a good thing.

Maggspie - hope you finished strong and that you'll keep up the healthy lifestyle!

Goodnite - hope yesterday continued strong and today as well!

Welcome GoodNite! For some reason, Advocare users aren't super active on SparkPeople, so I'm glad you're here too! Congrats on starting the challenge! How has it been going so far? Hoping you're feeling AWESOME and if you're not yet, you will soon! I love your idea to mix the fiber with the shake...I threw in a little bit of spark into my fiber drink and that instantly made it more tolerable! Make sure to keep us updated!!!

And hello again Sam! Things are going well! I end my challenge TOMORROW...crazy! But I think I have been finishing up my last couple days REALLY strong. I have been allowing myself to make very tiny cheats because thats how I want my lifestyle to be.

I completely agree about going of the deep end. I had a bad night last week and ate a BUNCH of bread-y foods. And the next day, just like you, I felt absolutely horrible. So I made a new rule for myself: Only one meal a day can have grains in it. I won't deprive myself of grains, of course! But overeating them...nope!

I'll make sure to share my results when I weigh in! No matter what the weight loss though, I feel great and I think I look better than ever, so I'm okay with whatever number that scale gives me! Now its just to figure out whether or not I want to continue any of the products!

I hope your challenge gets here today! Keep us updated!!!

Hi, my Advocare rep has me doing a protein shake with my fiber drink (I blend it in an oster personal blender) blended together with the chocolate meal replacement I hardly notice the fiber and I use large tervis straw and get it down much easier than by itself. I love the blender for both spark and shakes because you can add ice so it's really cold and you can make a spark slush on a really hot day (live in Texas) which I like.

HI Goodnite2!

Welcome! This team isn't terribly active, but I'm trying to be here at least once on the weekdays!

How is your challenge going? I know the fiber drink can be a bit hard to swallow (literally!), but I am excited to see how it affects you! Everyone that I know has been amazed (including myself) at the change in how you feel - including energy levels!
Feel free to send me a message if you have questions too - I'm not perfect, but I have made it through and will be attacking it again! emoticon

MAGGSPIE - how is it going? You're almost there! I will never say that I did my challenge 100% on the path... I didn't exercise like I should - and I certainly cheated a time (or three or five)... but, like you, those cheats really showed me how eating right made me feel better! I think by the end of mine, all I could think about was eating everything I'd deprived myself of (which isn't healthy)... so I went off the deep end! and felt HORRIBLE!!
Since then, I've learned moderation... but have realized that the increased protein is really what my body needs - and it keeps me from binging because it keeps my hunger at bay.
Here's to a successful completion of your 24! and to continuing with your healthy eating!

I'm really excited to start my 2nd 24 day challenge later this week (waiting on my box still, but it says it should be here today).

Hi, I started my first 24dc today. I am looking for support to get through this and thought this would be great. Got my first fiber drink down, not so bad. I am going to do the DVD workout also. Really want to commit to this 100%, any experience and tips would be appreciated.

Hey Sam!

SO happy to hear you're feeling so great!!! I've recently been struggling a lot with cheating and slackin on my water intake - I've noticed that I actually feel more sluggish because of it! It's a horrible feeling! BUT I'm glad I'm feeling it because otherwise, I'd probably keep cheatin!

So my plan is to REALLY stick to the advocare way of eating unless it is absolutely impossible and I'm standing there starving. At least until I'm not feeling as sluggish! And even then, I want to maintain that if I can! It just gets hard because we are SURROUNDED by horrible things - its hard to do good things for your body in today's world! But its possible if you prepare enough.

I'm sooo glad you're feeling so good! It's funny how if you stop eating something, you won't crave it. I haven't had a chocolate craving since I started! Has to be the longest I've ever gone without chocolate haha. After tonight, I've got 4 more days - eep! I'll keep ya updated! REALLY appreciate the encouragement! :) Can't wait to hear how your second challenge goes!!! I love that cleanse phase!

Oh my goodness!
I forgot how quickly the cravings go away! I am on Day 3 of eating the Advocare way... high protein, low carbs, no sugar, no dairy - and I am no longer craving sugar ALL day long. I am not drinking 3 mugs of coffee (still having 1, but don't feel the NEED for it anymore...) - and I am feeling SO much better! Even with my minimal sleep, I feel awake and alert - and GOOD!

Can't wait to start my next 24DC... tracking says it should be here Monday, so I'm planning for a Thursday start day (Tuesday is first day of school... so definitely NOT starting that day!). CAN'T WAIT!

Hey, Maggs - finish strong! I know you're close - and you can do it!

Hi Maggs!
I lost 5lbs and 15 inches! (4 of those were off my waist!). Now, note that I started at ~13lbs into the overweight BMI category... I'm going to get out of it one of these days...

I've continued sporadically with the products - I love my MNS Max3 and Spark in the afternoon. (As for the warm Spark, my sponsor recommended it - I actually don't like Spark cold now!) I was not very successful with the eating after the challenge - but I hate the way I feel when I eat "normal" for me (which is a ton of carbs and lots of dairy)... so I have just gotten myself back into the eating. I have to say that I didn't keep all the weight off (though it took me a year of bad eating to gain it back) - but my shape has not gone back to the way it was before. I'm not as trim as I was, but clothes that didn't fit when I started are comfortable now - even with the weight back.

I found I loved the cleanse eating plan, but the Burn days just about killed me. I am actually trying to do the burn day plan right now (though with a few "cheats") to get myself back in the mindset for another 24. (I got the email that it shipped today - YEA!)

I have convinced my husband to do the 24DC after he gets back from a trip next month - so I am excited to see his progress too! I think he is going to have a hard time eating throughout the day since he tends to ignore eating until he is starving and then eat everything in sight. But I'm excited to see his eating patterns change too - because, even though my eating is not "on plan" most of the time lately, it's still not as bad as it was before!

Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see your results!

It makes me so sad that more Advocare people don't use SparkPeople or this forum. I love staying in touch with people doing Advocare - it makes it seem much more of a community effort.

When you did your first 24 day challenge, how did it go? I'm on day 18 of my first challenge - liking it so far! Just REALLY interested to see what the scale/measurements say on day 24...

After your first challenge, did you stick with any of the products? Also, I LOVE your idea to warm the spark - haven't tried that yet! I've missed using my coffee mugs, so I'll have to do that.

I've been inactive for awhile - and feeling it! Today is day 1 of back on the "wagon"! I ordered another 24 DC package but started today as a Burn day - because I hate waiting when I make up my mind to move!

Is anyone still around or monitoring this Team? I'd love to have other Advocare users to chat with/help motivate each other!

Today, I am headachy - cut my caffeine to 1 cup of coffee (so that I can get to Zero for my 24 DC again starting Sept 3). But I am not hungry - I love how more protein does that!! Getting ready for my afternoon spark (YUM!). I love mine warm - anyone else?
