THANKS everyone! Well I saw Dr. Oz's article in for Women First. It was a scaled down version of the diet so I went on Amazon and got the book. It said 2009 on Amazon but 2002 in the book...so hopefully like you said , it still holds true now. I like tracking my food here on Sparkpeople, so I can actually see the numbers. My calories have gone up...and thats a good thing! I also have slowed a bit on exercising, I take a day off here and there to rest.

I see Susy has answered your question. I saw it earlier but had class tonight. We have a lot of good information here on this page. The leaders of this team followed the plan all the way through and while we don't follow it as strictly now, I know it still influences our food choices. So - while our activity has slowed down a bit teamwise, we are definitely here to answer any questions you may have and to cheer you on. And we need a reason to chat about this again!

Eating crappy food is not a reward - it's a punishment! - Drew Carey
Dr. Goglia put out a "newer" book several years ago, but the content was the exact same. To the best of my knowledge what changed was his professional credentials, which the 'updated' book reflected.
Several of us on this team first learned about the Quick Start diet via the Oxygen Magazine Spark team. The 21 Day QS had more food in it calorie-wise than did Dr. Goglia's book. Some people said it was upped because Oxygen readers were also exercisers and needed the additional calories. However, the calories were still considered low.
Anyway, as far as wanting more updated information, I haven't found anything.
On the one hand, what that *might* say is that the information is complete and still stands true so no update is necessary...
But like you, I would like to "see" a more current date stamp on his work to verify that!
If you are willing, you can use this thread to talk about how things are going for you... your progress. I know that if you know that others are interested in your journey, it makes it easier to stick with it.

Hi everyone - just started the Turn up the Heat 12 week plan on 1-21-13. I am fat and protein efficient. It is kinda scarey eating so much food (every 3 hours), but I am willing to try because nothing else works and this makes so much sense. The book I just got is copyrighted 2002 and want some more updated information. Any suggestions?
