The reality shows I like are The Voice, DWTS, and America's Got Talent but BL has always been my favorite. A lot of the other reality shows I don't care for at all. This past season seemed too much like some of the ones where the backstabbing and drama are the big draw. Not what I want in a show. But I'm really hoping that when it comes back in January they will have learned a lesson and will be more like the show set out to be.

If I happen to be sitting down, I will catch an occasional Top Chef or Next Food Channel Star or something of that nature. I have also watched the Bethenny show when I catch it now and then. She is a pretty amazing young woman. But BL is the only reality show I watch on schedule and hate to miss. Until this season.

I watch a few reality shows--BL, Survivor, Amazing Race, and this season I have watched DWTS. Someone on another thread said that that Chris Powell Extreme Makeover is coming back 6/3.

Me neither, Dee. BL is one of the few television shows I watch. I am a Mad Men addict. A Sherlock Holmes superfan. A Modern Family devotee. A Big Bang Theory believer.

But BL was the ONE reality show I loved. I have lost a lot of weight myself, and I enjoy seeing other people work at doing it too.

And I agree, if next season is like this season, they may as well not air it to my house. I will not watch.

If they take my BL away, I will miss it!! I have watched 10 of the 13 seasons..... But if they renew and new season is not any better than the last one....... I won't mind them cancelling.....

It's pretty much the only reality show I watch. I am not a survivor, or an american idol, voice, america's got talent, etc kind of gal....

I saw that article too. Lots of shows from NBC canceled and BL tentatively renewed for one season.

We have to wait and see.

Television is saturated with reality shows right now.

Dee - I saw that NBC *will* have BL on next year (sort of a general article listing shows continuing and shows cancelling). I felt it wasn't definite w/ the way the last season ended. An I also saw a snip - ABC maybe - of that guy, Chris? who follows once person for a show, was on. I have no idea when either of these will start.

I especially did not like conda, there was too much frickin drama in the house every week. but than again I have been watching this since my mother in law got me hooked on it during season 3 and it seems like most seasons there is too much drama in the house with someone or another.

Eric, I agree. It was wonderful to see Mike win that prize. Conda was so cruel to him. That vendetta was what started all the actions of the snipers and vipers on this season's BL.

Did you hear Conda? When the contestants came out, she said, "Omigod, look at Mike!"

Getting there was probably the best face slap he could offer that woman.

I know I'm a broken record, but for any of you who are looking for an old season to watch...please watch season 7. Oh. My. God. Yes, there's a bit of drama, but more than anything, there are some of the most amazing transformations I've ever seen.

It was one of those seasons where you end up really feeling for the contestants. You laugh with them, you cry with them. You cheer out loud when they succeed, and you might even snarl when something bad happens.

For me personally, it was the season that convinced me to run a marathon. That's the sort of inspiration BL is supposed to provide!

All this latest season did was inspire me to treat my fellow human a lot better than these guys did. Oh, and tons of happiness when Mike won the at-home prize. That was perfect, since he was Conda's first target.

Yeah, I hope the network fixes the show, rather than canceling it, but networks are interested in numbers, and BL's numbers fell drastically this season, for exactly the reason you cited, Crystal.

No, no, no, Crystal. You are correct--that is how that child of Mark spells his name. But the real name Chisholm is not spelled that way. I was just poking fun at Mark, not you. You are GRRRRRREAT!

I also find myself wondering if they'll cancel BL soon. I don't think this season resonated with viewers at all (except for in a negative way). Every group and forum says the same thing. People are even complaining on Bob Harper's FB page. Sad because it used to be a really good show in the early seasons, imo.

Well they have it listed with the spelling Chism on the BL site. Either way I just think it's weird. Chism was not a good term back in the day... it was used for, well, I guess google the definition of old uses for the word. I just wouldn't name my kids something for other kids to pick on. It's hard enough growing up these days.

I will not be remotely surprised to hear an announcement this summer that BL is canceled. It will be interesting to read the press around such an announcement if it comes to pass. Will blame be placed where blame belongs?

Chism is not even spelled correctly--Chisholm is a surname; Chism is nothing. Conda I have never heard of before; there was Condaleeza Rice, which is a made-up name. But Conda worked so perfectly for everyone who dismissed the woman as a snake.

I would not have cared if their names were Pookerson and Neeminpipper, IF they had been decent human beings.

But those people would not have been appealing if their names were Paradise and Heaven. They were just mean, nasty, whining critters seeking only fame and money. Conda got the fame and Jeremy got the money. So they won. Viewers lost.

The one hour format was far too rushed. Allison was very hyper, trying to get everything going.

I'm looking forward to watching another one of the old seasons on Netflix. I think I am up to season 3.

CHALEY3 if you have Netflix you can watch the seasons from the very beginning and see how very different the show and the contestants were back then. They have all the seasons until maybe the last couple on there. I started with season one and think I'm season 11 not on Netflix. I'm not sure if last season is on there yet. Definitely more uplifting than the current season.

Coming in kind of late but here it is. I was happy the show was only an hour and not dragged into two. Thought everyone looked fantastic. Happy Mike won - he deserved it. Yet again the at home winner was a contestant who was at the ranch for a very short time. I wasn't happy to see Jeremy win but I wasn't rooting for any of them. I don't know what I was expecting. LOL - no matter who won I would have been disappointed. I guess my least favorite would have been Conda. Did anyone else notice that right before the last 3 got on the scale Allison kind of yelled at them trying to figure out who was going on the scale first? It seemed kind of disorganized? I don't think that was suppose to be televised. In the past they asked the one who had the biggest % of weight loss on the ranch to pick the order - this time they didn't mention that - just kind of got them on the scale quickly. Worked for me. I hope next season - if they even come back they go back to the way it use to be and focus on weight loss and not the drama. While the $$ is always tempting it does seem like in the past most of the contestants were more focused on the weight loss while the last 5 contestants were focused on the game.

i was really happy mike won the at home. he totally totally worked his butt off for that! though i had wanted emily or chism. but then i seen mike and was like yeh. he deserves it.
too bad kim didnt beat the green team.
i feel so sad that mark and buddy were blind sided by their rash emotions. they werent looking at the big picture. or that they would have a chance to be back with their partners. and now what? no endorsements? or books? it could have let them do so many things in the world!
for others and their families. bummer.

Definitely interesting to see if the show will return, and if so, in what way. This season was a write-off. And so unfortunate that this was my first real exposure to the show. I'm still willing to watch another season, at least to watch the start of it, but I don't really get anything out of the show.

I first started watching Biggest Loser last season, about halfway through, and I really enjoyed all of the nutrition information and medical info. That seemed sorely lacking this season. And the "commercials" got REALLY annoying! (Subway was fine, but Newman's Own, and the sliced meat, and the frozen yogurt, and ... There was at least one items EVERY episode!)

I went to the NBC website to see if I could find anything about a season 14. All I could find was a link to subscribe to receive e-mails when casting for season 14 begins so I subscribed to that. The criteria is that you need to have 85 lbs or more to lose. I don't have that much to lose and really don't want to go on the show anyway but just subscribed to the casting email so I will know when they do start casting out of curiosity. Apparently they haven't done any casting for the next season yet, so obviously there isn't going to be a new season in the fall at this point. Usually they have already started training by the time the current season is ending. But I do hope they come back in Janary next year with the show reworked and more like it used to be.

Thank you, Ima. I think what they said was sufficient. Nothing to be gained from lingering over the ugliness of the walkouts.

I hope next season is better.

Did Sam look OK? He looks sort of sad on the video he and Stephanie made. He has suffered a lot of losses. She seems like a good mate for him. True and kind and willing to stand by him throughout what is going to be a long long long recovery process.

They panned to Sam and his bride last night as a matter of fact. They just got married last weekend.

As to what they said about the walk off. They just said that the 3 people who quit would not be weighing in. The other 17 were there and let's start... Nothing was said about it other than the one sentence acknowledgement. I couldn't remember who the third person was and had to look it up. Joe, who quit in week 3 to go back to his fiancée. The article I read on the internet said he also got married and Buddy was the officiant.

I just Googled Sam, and it was the roof a friend's apartment building from which he fell. He is still in pretty bad shape, but he and Stephanie are going to move ahead with their wedding plans. If you watch this video he appears to be paralyzed on the left side, and he never smiles as he used to so readily.

I was on IM with a former student and my television was on muted. I saw some of it. Apparently my student was watching too because he was impressed by the "guy who lost 199 pounds." I told my student the loser is a loser in more than one way. He laughed.

Some of the contestants looked good, some looked okay. Jeremy did not look like a biggest loser. I never liked the kid so I have nothing to say.

I am just delighted the Season of the Witches and Whiners is over. I am interested to see if BL returns, and if it does, what adjustments the production staff will make to improve the quality of the contestants and the show.

On Bob Harper's FB page I posted a note asking him to use any influence he may have to select better people next season.

As in any project, the character of people is the strongest force in accomplishing goals in a productive way. The characters of the contestants this year were far too questionable for me.

I am interested in hearing what they had to say about the walkoff. I understand from what you said they did not make a big deal of it, but what did they say?

Also is Sam the contestant who was severely injured while working as a trainer at the BL Ranch? I liked him and his cousin. They were Samoan by heritage and used to perform that Samoan war dance. But one of them was very severely injured.

I'm glad Kim won the PALA contest, she should have won the Biggest Loser contest. I hate like hell that ole whinny, I mean Jeremy won, but he set the goal so high losing 199 pounds. Conda didn't look very happy for Jeremy when he beat her out.

For once the show didn't drag on and on...liked that
No one was stuffed into a shiny too tight dress...liked that
The walk off's were mentioned and then the subject dropped...liked that
Seeing Sam and...oh, can't remember her name (was reminded it was Stephanie) still looking great...liked that
Mike won the at home but many were looking pretty darn good...liked that
They still are trying to rehabilitate Ana-conda for the public...hated that
Jeremy won...was disappointed in that but I will say he did the work and lost the weight so I guess in the end the Meanest Looser was an appropriate title this year.

I'm glad Conda didn't win!! I hope Jeremy doesn't give her a penny of it (though he probably will). I wish Kim could've won but since she lost so much on the ranch I didn't think it would happen.

Yep, I was hoping Jeremy's suit jacket didn't pop off a button and take out someone's eye in the audience...a size up would have made a big difference!

I don't think Kim had any more to lose! I believe she did all she could...

I think they all looked great, but what was up with Jeremy's suit jacket it was way to small. Glad that he didn't have to move to much. I thought the show dressed these people. emoticon Really wish Kim could have lost 10-11 pounds more. But them again she probably wishes that too!

Sara - I saw 2 of those shows - Extreme Weight Loss or something like that! And he was working w/ people who were *very* over-weight. Both that show and the one Jillian did w/ families were a different focus: showing one person/family completely for the whole show - but it covered a longer time period. It was nice to see the conclusion within an hours in a way. BL always has been many people, gradual - which I think helps you care about people more, get to know them better. I have preferred that most seasons - but there are always a few I can't relate to, or don't like or find manipulative. This season was so sad because that not liking seemed the norm.

Watching the end of this season - I went back to a childhood memory. Seeing A Chorus Line,
hearing the song 'Nothing" which in a way has stuck with me. Normally, I am moved by the BL finale, tearing up seeing the people so changed, so inspired. This season - I felt nothing.

Mike did great at home. As soon as I saw him I knew he had it won. Cassandra looked amazing...her happiness has really shined through. I thought Kim looked like she did all she could. I can't imagine her losing any more weight than she did. I thought she looked great. I am not a big fan of Conda. I hope she really has changed. I still can't believe she lasted that long on the show. Maybe editing made her look bad. Jeremy did good. I seem to remember towards the end of the season him saying he had held back a bit and it was time to turn it up a notch. I guess it's a game and perfectly fine to do that. But if I were there I'd put it all out every day. Good for Jeremy for winning, I'm glad Kim at least won the gym for her community. I hope next season is better, or I'll be watching re-runs of BL. emoticon

I agree, Jeremy is a poor example for a BL winner with his fat rolls so obvious. I was disappointed Kim didn't win because she worked the hardest (physically) out of the remaining 3. I also think Jeremy & his sister will gain all of their weight back...their selfishness (I deserve, I deserve, I deserve!!) has not gone away. Good riddance Britts.

Jeremy will not keep the weight off. I foresee him going back to his lazy ways, and using his winnings on beau coup amounts of pizza and fast foods. His attitude sucks. He is not a good example of what the Biggest Loser should be. This season was so disappointing with all the drama. Last night was my last viewing of a "losing show" I'm out.

I was surprised at Jeremy's end weigh of 190 given that he still had tummy rolls. He did lose more percentwise than anyone else on the show, so I suppose that means he should have won.

Interestingly, if Mike had outlasted Jeremy in the challenge to be the 3rd finalist, then Jeremy would have won the at-home prize, and Kim would have won the $250K.

Very disappointed in the winner, not because it was the whiney Jeremy. But the fact he was still sporting rolls of fat. First time ever, that the winner was still not at a goal weight. Kim looked fabulous. She looked like she should have won, but her % was so low compared to the 2 others still in the competition, she didn't have a chance. I thought Roy looked great too, as did Cassandra and Emily. Other than that, a very bad finish.

I was really hoping for Team Pink all the way, but I guess it was not meant to be. Having said that, I still think that Emily, Kim, and Cassandra all looked absolutely stunning at the finale!

There used to be a show, I haven't seen it in like months but, if I remember his name (personal trainer) was Chirs something. He stayed with the clients for 1 year and if they hit their target weight they would get a gift. If they reached their mid-final weight they got the skin removal surgery. It was a great show. I wish I could remember what it was called. He literally lived with them for the first month, and transformed their living area into a fitness room. It was a great show.
Anyway...maybe you can find it on hulu or something.

Looking kinda forward to the conclusion of Biggest Loser tonight and really hoping Kim pulls off the win.
I never really had a favorite this season, but Conda got under my skin from the beginning and toward the end so did Jeremy, I see a problem with Jeremy in the actions of thinking the 3rd spot should have been handed to him.
I fear he is going to relive this action in life and go back to bad habits when he fails.

Tonights show will determine if I stay a fan of Biggest Loser. Besides it's time for a new weight loss show. Something more fun. I love the before and after type shows. But not cosmetic or surgery types, and definitely not morbidly obese ones. We need more of the average overweight person. Even 30 lb weight loss is a marked improvement.
And if they do go forward with the BL then maybe they should keep it to who does the most to get to their goal. Like someone suggested earlier keep the yellow line, and whoever falls below it needs to go, no matter what the circumstances. We know that show has closet eaters, ones that sneak down to the kitchen and munch. And of course they need to get rid of those bad food choices laid out as a challenge, that is sooooo wrong!! They are there to learn nutrition, I know the trainers don't like those particular competitions.
