Doing OK I think. Chiropractor has finished with me and recommended massage therapy so am trying that next week. Will check back with chiro in 3 weeks to see if the massage is helping my leg pain. Next alternative therapy would be acupuncture.
It was a lousy week. I have been trying to pack for a move, dealing with a lot of pain, my depression has been stopping me, and I have a neighbor that has all the answers to my life without having any knowledge.
I have gained beck the 2 lbs I lost last week. I would like to take some water walking classes or a class that won't hurt my joints. Any body tried any?
I also am starting to meditate in the morning and at night to regain my focus and maybe I won't fell as much stress as I do right now.
Let's see. I have been occupied lately with the process of cleaning up my inlaws home, helping to go through all their stuff because they are having to move into a nursing home whenever their name gets to the top of the list. The weather here has been pretty wet and damp over the past few days so I have had lots of aching while trying to get to sleep at night. The chiropractor is helping me somewhat - she has been working on my right front thigh area and has given me some strengthening exercises to do. For weight loss I am using the TOPS program to help motivate me. Trying to lose a little bit each week but sometimes not so lucky. Last week was a good one for loss. We'll see what this Tuesday brings me for weigh-in. I kinda got away from tracking my food and water intake but am trying to watch how much goes into my mouth and what goes into it too.
Congrats on the weight loss both of you. It doesn't matter how small or big it is, just that we move in the right direction. Now that the clean up at my IL's house is over, I can get back to eating the right way at the right times. I had a two pound gain over the last two weeks, and that has to stop and reverse, like determinedloser, I need to get back to where I was and go farther. You have given me the push I need to get back on track. I still have 13 lbs to lose by the end of July (my vacation), so I best stop messing up and eat right again.
I know what you mean about the pain, I was on Remicade, but they changed me to Orencia. I just have my first infusion, so I don't know if it is going to help yet. Julie, I so glad to see you back and I hope you stick around so we can help you. My main pain is in my hands and feet, so it gets hard to type, but I love this group and will do anything I can to make it work. I hope they find something that works for you soon.
I joined Spark People in December. But, I've been in alot of pain and cant get my Lupus and RA under control so I've not been doing anything to lose weight or work on a healthy lifestyle for the past months. I have started back on my life change and I'm two weeks into it now. I'm not sure what this weight lost shows, because I lost alittle weight before I started back, but I've lost 9 pounds and I'm proud of myself. I still dont have my illnesses under control. The last medicine I tried didn't work so we will be trying something else in a couple months. So last week, I did well, not as good as the first week, but sometimes you have to have a day (or two) to just have a break and eat some ice cream. I'm still moving forward and hopefully I will be able to continue this path.
I lost 5.6 pounds of the 10.8 pounds that I gained over a three week period. My goal is to get this weight back off. Only 5.2 pounds to go and I will be back on the road again. Through all of this I have realized that I struggle with "all-or-nothing thinking." So, I have started to read the "Mind Over Body" series of articles. They are helping me and I am learning ways to cope with my thinking process, also reading the stress articles seems to be helping. I still struggle with it, but am doing my best to get right back on track instead of waiting for a new day (which never comes) or the beginning of a week. It's definitely a process. Stress and Perfectionism seem to be the culprits over the last month. I am also now in physical therapy to help me with my knee and back pain.

I also need to know what types of subjects you would like to know more about. I am flailing here trying to come up with subjects that you need to learn more about. Please help me by telling me where you need help. I love this group and am here to help you lose weight, but I can't help you if I don't know what you need. It also helps me to learn more about weight loss and the areas that I have never thought of exploring. If you have a problem area, please share so we can help each other out. That's what buddies are for..........right!?!?!?!?
