Hi all... better late than never, right?
My second year Sparkiversary finds me at another new hospital. This is the worst lab I've EVER worked at, and I definitely regret leaving the other hospital. I also picked up a very part time job as an adjunct professor at a local community college. That said, I'm trying to find time to fit in physical activity around my schedule.
I at least manage to run a 5K every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday before work on most weeks. I also do the best I can keeping tabs on what I eat - emphasis on more protein, fruits, veggies, and water. With this method, I've lost about 20 pounds since around August.
I ran my first official 5K in December (time 38:38) and I'm gearing up with a group of my friends to do the USO 5K Mud Run on June 2. We did the mud run last year, but there wasn't a whole lot of running involved!! My goal this year is to run the stretches between the mud obstacles.
I still have a long way to go, but the small improvements in my stamina and realistic, reachable goals for myself help keep me motivated.
I wish everyone success in the coming year.
And to Zella, thanks for sticking with our group. I may not post very often, but I am in attendance.
Onward and upward,

I really thank Spark for helping me get as far as I have. I try to show other people the value of this site, but they don't seem to be ready yet. That is a shame because it has helped me a lot. Almost to goal!
It's been a rocky two years for me... very stop-go, all or nothing. A lot of nothing! Around this time last year, I got myself up and moving and was doing well...until I developed plantar fasciitis around 9 months ago and I crashed to a stop. Suddenly, I couldn't run and I couldn't do Zumba and I just sat around feeling sorry for myself. It didn't hurt my feet at all to ride my bike, but my husband's the cycling fanatic, not me, so I didn't do it. I couldn't do what I wanted, so I did nothing. Great plan. I gained 12 pounds during my pity party. I sorta tried around New Year's, nothing. Then last month I joined Weight Watchers after 4 years away, and I've lost 7 lbs in one month. I'm tracking my food and working out by walking and riding my bike. I'm actually feeling optimistic this time around

Two years have gone in a blur.
I'm still running and weight has stayed just within healthy BMI so I'm going to say it has been a successful year.
I dip in and out of Spark these days. I do not feel the need to track regularly but know that help and encouragement is there when I need it.
I hope that everyone is doing OK and that "no news is good news" from the rest of you!
Happy 2nd Sparkiversary!
