I love that sparkpeople is such a fabulous resource...after a year I am still finding outstanding articles and being inspired by the blogs. Finding 2 things was pretty easy ;D

1. Joined the SparkPeople's Official Mindful Eating Challenge I think this will help me focus even more on what I put in my mouth...I have a bad habit of multitasking (usually reading) while I'm eating, so this will hopefully help break that habit.
2. I added calcium to my nutrition tracker and bumped my sodium intake down. With summer coming I'd like to take advantage of all the yummy seasonal foods to start eating cleaner, less processed meals.

Have a great April everyone!!

Hi all :)

Overall, I'm proud of the fact that I've stayed committed to being involved here on SP. I try to log in on a regular basis, track food, and read the emails I've subscribed to. My goal for this next year is to turn it up a notch and be more committed to fitness. I have 3 pounds left to reach my first 10% lost goal, and I'm still plugging away at my C25K program.

Two new things:
I just started tracking fiber intake the day before Michelle sent out her email :)
I joined the SparkPeople Official 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program group.

I may not pop up in a lot of forum discussions or blogs, but I'm here if anyone needs a Buddy :)

Congrats everyone! Here's to another healthy happy year emoticon

Day 1 of Year 2 - I've been doing pretty good on upper & lower body exercises for our 3x3 challenge, but for Year 2, I'm going to start working on some core & balance exercises. I tried the Seated Dumbbell Rolls this morning & they went ok and one of this morning's articles mentioned just sucking your navel in toward your spine & holding for 10 seconds. That one I can do while I'm sitting here typing {g}.

I've been watching calories & sodium right along and have only gone over the 1580 calorie limit less than 10 times in the past year. Sodium sometimes spikes - especially if we get a good deal on king crab, but normally it's well below 2300 mg. I've only been tracking cholestrol since last October when my normally low count spiked. It's gone over 250mg only three times since then when I've had eggs so I'm hoping that the next test will show a more reasonable number. So, I'm going to continue tracking and at the same time try balancing protein, fat & carbs which I haven't paid all that much attention to this last year.

I guess you could sum up my goals for this second year in one word - BALANCE, both physical through exercise & dietwise though even more attention to what I'm eating. Wish me luck & I could use some advice on which core exercises are gentle enough not to make my back hurt while I start to build those muscles.

Well, as you read from mediocre blog, I haven't been doing much of anything when it comes to my health goals. So I decided to join the team goals on the Wii Fit Team, which are to weigh-in and do the body test at least 5x/week and to do at least 15 min. daily on the Wii Fit.

Congratulations to everyone on your 1 year Spark-versary!

Two new things I am working on this year are:

Focus on getting 8 hours of sleep a night!

Going back to school-I've given my body a year of special treatment, it's time to focus on my mind while continuing my weight loss journey!

It's been a good year, with a net weight loss of 20 pounds. I wish I'd done more, but I'm happy to be lighter than I was at this time last year!

You got the email!

Now it's time to think of 2 NEW THINGS you can try this week that you've never tried here on SP - join a new team, join or start a new team challenge, try a new Spark exercise video or Spark workout routine, start tracking a new nutrient (like maybe fiber), or whatever SPARK activity you can think of.

Post your ideas and your accomplishments here. Goodies on the way for all those who try 2 NEW THINGS on SP this Sparkiversary celebration week!
