WaysOfGrace - I like that I've gotten 2,000 fitness minutes; however, I've only gotten them since I retired.

Re the activity streaks, I have exercised more in the past few years than for most of my life. So wherever you are now, there is time to change. Sometimes there is a mental shift that makes it easier. For me, it HAS been the exercise streak. If I can make it past 25 weeks, a certain momentum and pride takes over. No way do I want to lose it at that point. The week I lost my previous 78 weeks streak was a mentally funky week for me. I lost focus for a lot of things that week.

You'll be fine.

got another month of 2,000 fitness minutes. Working on week 78 of exercise streak. Believe that will tie my all time record. Will CELEBRATE week 80. Actually week 80 & 81 will be challenge weeks. But unless medical issues come up -- will not let streak go.

Hiked six miles @ Tenorac section of Saddle Creek in company of friends who are fairly fast hikers. We did some water, snack, and talk stops. Still did in less than 2-1/2 hours. Given the "hilly" terrain--not a bad time. Note-most Florida trails are flat. The area I was in is an old phosphate mine section. Where they dug are nice lakes for fishing & kayaking. The tailings became a series of mounds that twist & turn in a beautiful wooded area. There are views of lakes on the trail. Part of the trail leads to an observation tower overlooking a lake. I'll be leading a group there next Sat., pace will be a lot slower.

Exercise streak @ 65 weeks. Finished 2013 with four months of over 1,500 fitness minutes.
Tracking calories today for first time in FOREVER. Need to. My weight is now highest in my life. I have finally starting weighting myself & acknowledging my current weight on SparkPeople.

I togged up and went for my usual 60 minute walk. Nice going some directions, pretty windy-cool on the way home! Then I upped my doorknob exercise routine from 3 sets of 15 reps to 4 sets.

Today I did something right AND wrong...right was turning on the stove to heat the water in the tea kettle for a nice hot cup of herbal tea. Wrong was walking away from the kettle (because a watched pot never boils??). Did manage to save the kettle, but only barely! Lesson learned, I hope.

I went camping this weekend with a group of friends. My husband was doing something else. I put up our tent all by myself. It's 10x12 and at least 6" high. Feeling good about that. Rode over 10 miles on my bike on Friday and got a good group hike in on Saturday. Bathroom closest to me wasn't working very well so got a lot of exercise walking to the other one. emoticon emoticon
My exercise streak is pushing 60 weeks.

Before I unwrapped a frozen fruit bar I had taken out of the freezer, I tracked my dinner, and realized the bar would have put me 20 calories over my total calories daily target. The fruit bar went back in the freezer....

I did NOT want to tackle any exercise today but eventually it became as time consuming to talk myself out of going for a walk as to talk myself into it! Finally I put on my runners and told myself I'd do a quick walk around the block. Ended up going over 3 miles!!!

Jumper cables area a good thing to have a healthy respect for! I myself, am fine with battery issues and cables. I can even change my own oil!

Today I ate lots of freggies, kept in my calorie/carb/fat range and got all my water in. WooHoo!

I'm so proud of myself for a couple of 'rights' that I've done so far today - and it is only noon! I live on a farm and that means I have a farm pick-up - an old CLUNKER that has seen many, many miles. It's been parked outside, in the snow, all winter. Haven't driven it since last November. Now, even though Ol' Billy Bob has seen many miles, he will yet see many more and my challenge was to get him running for the season. Dead Battery! Got a battery charger - hooked it up - and prayed. Sure enough, Billy Bob's heart (battery) decided to give it another go and after a couple of hours on the charger - WOW! Started right up. No, I am not mechanically inclined - I only know that I have to depend on myself to do certain things - and keeping Billy Bob going is one of those things.

So that was one right thing I did this morning and off Billy Bob and I go to town to get some necessities. Billy Bob needed gas, and I needed food. When I pulled into the fast-food-choice-of-the-day, the thought struck me that just as I have to depend on myself to keep things around here running somewhat smoothly, I also have to depend on myself to keep myself running smoothly. That little reminder helped me make better choices for lunch.

It also helped me tp make more frugal choices at the hardware store - buying only those things that I need, and not what happened to catch my eye. Gosh, the choices I made this morning were so 'right', I can hardly wait to see what the afternoon brings!

I like that this message board is getting more activity. For me, success breeds success in that when I get a streak going I have more incentive not to stop. I had an exercise streak up to 75 week. As it was building, the though of loosing it got me up morning when I really did not want to. It was a funky week when I lost the streak. It has been a struggle since then to get that kind of momentum going. At present my exercise streak is at 23 weeks.

Kudos to all of us. It is good to acknowledge what we do right. I know for myself, I do more than enough negative self talk.

Way to do something good for yourself SONYALATRECE!! Rewards for hard work are so important!

Today (I work nights so to me it's still Friday) I spent more time on this site and explored more of the content. I completed a seated upper body workout video right here at my desk and I also started reading blogs from inspirational Spark members and then started my own after I pasted two recent pics together and noticed a big improvement! I am inspired and ready to tackle the weekend.

I awakened to the 6am alarm to have a Girls Day Out with massages, hair done, & lunch. WooHoo!

AWESOME! I bow to your amazing ability to push through.

I myself am really happy about my consistent exercise. I have really struggled with this. By starting slow and keeping to a walking schedule I have started a streak that I want to keep rolling!

Woohoo! So many great wins on this list!! We're back and we're better than ever it seems!!

Today I am proud of the fact that I reached a goal I set for myself last week... to walk/run/crawl 5kms a day, every day for one full week. I am so proud of myself for doing it!! Some days were easy, others SUCKED! (Yesterday I worked a 12 hour shift on 3 hours sleep, and then did a 1 hour kickboxing class. By the time I got to the track it was dark and cold but I pushed through it and stumbled around the track to finish all 5 kms so I wouldn't flake on the goal 2 days before meeting it.)

This is one of the greatest achievements in my fitness and I am excitedly planning my next personal fitness goal, starting tomorrow...

Today I made a list of short exercises I can do for 10-minutes - fully expecting that I can find 10-minutes for exercise than I can devote an hour or so. Having the list to choose from makes it easier for me to get started! Works for me!!

I'm struggling BUT my current exercise streak is at 22 Weeks; my Fruit & Veggie Streak @ 128 days. I'm only @ 44 days straight of logging on BUT am @ 93% from 4/29/10.

Today I did a lot of things RIGHT - not necessarily smart, but right. For example, I rocked the babies for hours because their mom has the flu and feels like crap. I expect I'll soon "catch" the flu and feel like crap myself - so it maybe wasn't a smart thing to go to the 'sick' house and help out - but it was definitely the right thing to do.

I walked over 10K steps today in 5 hours at our botanical garden and I chose a great salad with grilled chicken, jicama, strawberries and bit of goat cheese and walnuts today for lunch. WooHoo! Awesome day!

On day four of week 27 of my exercise streak, I led a group of 21 people kayaking in the Chassahowitzka River area. The weather was great, the area beautiful, and good time seemed to be had by all.

Most of my streaks are still going. I've got 26 weeks of exercise (min 4x/week & min 30min/day). I've also got daily streaks of 188 days log on to Spark People (having a Smart Phone) and 181 days of min 5 Fruits or Veggies/day.

Temporarily letting Tracking Calories & Gratitudes going while I adjust to a new, very different work schedule.
