Hi Everyone, Well today we just clean a little and let the kids play outside again. We made it to the 80's so it was real nice out. Right now I am just relaxing figure I stop by and say hi to all. Incase I don't have a chance to stop by tomorrow I like to wish everyone a Happy Easter Sunday. I am making a dreamfeild diabetic Lasanga what is everyone making? Hope everyone weekend is going well..

Today we decided to just relaxed and spend time with the kids. The kids had off today for good friday so we played games with them and let them ride their bikes outside as it was nice out. Infact we just came in doors to make dinner and hubby and the boys wanted to watch the Yankees game. Just doing stuff with the kids outside I burned calories and did over 3.3 miles just playing around not bad you know.
Hubby is doing a little better still having some chest pains but like he said there nothing they can do really. He just has to take his meds and not over do it. As for his blood sugar well it been in the 200's range so it better then 500 range you know. He still taking the Lantus pin about 40 units once a day and he watching what he eats and his sugar intake.
The kids are doing good and they enjoying their day off. They all excited about Easter which is this Sunday. My daughter Breanna is excited that she turning 10 on Sunday too. Then my son Karlton is turning 13 on the 25th. So we will be having a big birthday party for all three kids which had birthdays this month. Cause my daughter Jennifer turn 11 on the 7th. It cheaper to just have one big party then three parties you know. I can't believe how big the kids are getting.Boy they sure grow up fast you know.
Got a phone call from my oldest son who lives in NY. He doing good and it was nice to hear from him. He trys to call once in the blue. You know how 21 yrs old are. they have their own life. He mainly called to let us know he has a new boyfriend and he thinking about moving in with him to save on money. I said it up to you as it's your life. He said he loves him and he wants to marry him. If you ask me I tthink he moving to fast you know. But I really can't say anything as I am not there. So I just wish him the best.
The inlaws stop by for a few hours it was nice seeing them. The kids love seeing them. Well that how my day went. Hope everyone else had a good Friday too. Better check on dinner as I don't want it to burned.

Things are going good and I am doing very good with my eating. Even hubby been eating much better as he trying to watch what he eat now. since I started the Xenadrine 7X I have lost 4 lbs :)
And I am going on day two of not smoking yea for me. I miss smoking but I am doing this for my health and kids. I walk for one mile so far today. Just wanted to stp by and post how my day is going so far. I laid down this morning after the kids left for school. My daughter Breanna is so proud of herself as she been walking the younger sister and brother to school with her older sister Jennifer. Anyway I took a long nap didn't realize I was that tired. But I feel so rested now. The kids will be home soon. I will miss the quiet but I be happy to see them all. The kids have off of school Friday thru Monday. So they have a three day weekend off. As for Easter not doing much just relaxing and enjoying family time. Plus it Breanna birthday Sunday too.Thanks for letting me rat on and on.. Hope everyone elses day was great too..

Hi well I took all of Monday to rest and rest. Hubby is doing much better the meds seem to be helping. He still have pains but they not as bad as they were. He has a inflammed chest wall which takes time to heal they said. Yesterday we took some time to go shopping and get some food. I didn't let him carry too much either. Hubby got me something called Xenadrine 7X to try cause he knew I been having trouble with weight loss. Have anyone ever heard of it? I started on them today and time will tell if the pills do work. It says to Take 1 rapid-release capsule with a glass of water, 30 minutes before your 3 meals of the day for 3 days. Then on day 4 and son on Take 2 rapid-release capsules with a glass of water, 30 minutes before your 3 meals of the day. They say it also has green coffee and garcinia camboga and raspberry keytone in it. I will keep you all posted on if it really works or not.
Also this is day one of me being smoke free. Yes I decieded to quit smoking once and for all. I am so happy with myself cause I am trusting my girls to walk their younger brother and sister to school every day and come home. It was very hard on me to let go a little. I have to let them grow up and so far they love it not having their mom walk them to school and pick them up. It was hard cause I do worry a lot and I just want to preject them but not be that parent who doesn't trust you know. I do miss walking them but they not babies anymore as Jennifer is 11 and Breanna is 10 so I need to start trusting them more. This week has been challenging but I feel good about the decisions I made I am so proud of myself...

Lance is home and he resting, He came home around 4:30am doctors say he has something called costochondritis it's a inflammation of the chest wall muscles. So he has to take it easy for a couple of days. I am just glad he okay and he home. Thank for the prayers everyone. Sorry for not posting sooner but I had an IEP meeting this morning and I just got home. I hated to have left him home alone but had no choice. I am working on little sleep too. Daughter Tiffany is doing great they said and she working towards her goals which is great. They are talking about mainstream her from special ed. I was glad to hear that. Today was the first time I let my two older daughter Jennifer 11 and Breanna 9 take the two younger kids to school without me this morning. I gave them my cell incase they had any problems. I took the chance and I trusted them. I was scared to death you know but they called and they made it okay. They didn't want me leaving dad home alone as he was dizzy from the meds they gave him. Right now he sleeping. Well I am going to try and take a short nap before the kids come home from school which is at 3:50 pm. I try to stop by later during the day.

Today was a very warm day as we reach 90's today. But I did manage to walk the kids to school this morning and hubby pick them up in the afternoon cause it was just too hot to walk he said. After the kids did their homework we let them played out side for a bit. They ride their bike and had fun for a couple of hours. I sat and watch them and enjoy the weather too. It felt good to just relax you know. After dinner we took the kids and dogs for a walk it was a bit cooler by then. So I was able to get my steps in. I can't believe this week is almost over. Well I am going to finish posting then go watch some tv with hubby then off to bed as I am beat and tired. Have to be up at 6:45 am tomorrow. Good night

Well yesterday was a good day as well. We went to hubby doctors and he got some bad news as his blood sugar was way too high and they but him on two different insulin one called Lantus SoloSTAR pen and Humalog kwikpen. Now he has to test after each meal and take the humalog. I am really worry about him cause his diabetes isn't getting any better. His AC1 was also very high. He has to go back in 2 weeks. Other then that we enjoy our day together as we went out for lunch just the two of us. It was nice and quiet. Then we went food shopping to get him some stuff that he could eat. I can eat everything on his menu but he can't as he has a lot of food allergies and he lactose intolerance too. Plus he a very picky eater which doesn't help much.
I did okay with walking as I did 11045 in steps and over 4.7 miles not bad you know. We went to our daughter school to drop off the cupcakes and punch. We stayed till it was time to pick up the kids from school. After we got home we just relax and help the kids with homework and made dinner and had our daughter birthday party and which the inlaws came over and we had real nice time.I think she enjoy herself. We gave her a bike and other stuff.

Well tomorrow my daughter Jennifer turn 11 yrs old. We are taking cupcakes to her class in the afternoon. I can’t believe she 11 already boy how time flies you know. When I tell people I have 7 kids they laugh cause I don’t look my age. Especially one who is 21 even. We had the in laws over for dinner this evening and I made a garlic chuck roast for dinner by was it good even the kids loved it and went back for seconds. I will share it with all of you. I will try and get it posted sometime this week. Well I am going to go relax and watch some tv before going to bed. Hope everyone had a good Sunday.

Figure I pop in and say hi to all, Well I did a load of clothes already and waiting to put them in the dryer. I have another two more load after that to do. Other then that I am relaxing and the in laws came over for a visit and for dinner so just enjoying their company. But I wanted to take a break and pop in for a bit. It nice outside as we reach 75 today and it feels great. The kids all are riding their bikes and having fun. I am making a roast for dinner tonight I got the recipe from spark people. My eating is going okay so far today. I haven't been snacking too much with is good. I only had a yogurt so far for a snack. Breakfast was french toast with banana and strawberries with sugar free syrup i only had two slices of bread. Better get back out side as I don't want to be rude you know. Hi well finish with spring cleaning my house. I have two big bags of girls clothes and 1 box of boys clothes that I am giving away. I spent about 5 to 6 hours on and off just cleaning today. My steps counter said I did 10.5 miles and 15690 in steps over 2568 in calories. I am beat and tired but I wanted to stop by before going to bed cause I promise to check in every day. Now all I have is the garage to clean out. I never figure we collected so much stuff over the years you know. I hate clutter. Hubby made me lunch and dinner and even made me a nice warm bath to relax in. Let me just say it felt good. Hope everyone had a nice Saturday. Well I am off for the night. Sandy

Hi Well it's 12:40 am and I am finally getting a chance to log on. I been so busy today running around. When I did get home I decided to spring clean a little. I went through all my sons clothes and fill a box of clothes that was too small and then I did ours and my little girls as well and filled a big bag worth. I also clean and uncluttered our room too. I spent about 3 hours just cleaning. I got a total of 12796 in steps and over 5 miles in. I did real good with eating and I stayed within my calories range too. I weight in this morning at 229.8 I take it you know. Well hope everyone did good. Can't believe it's Saturday already so I will enjoy spending time with the kids over the weekend. Wishing everyone a great Saturday. I'm gonna watch some tv before heading to bed. Night all.

Morning everyone, Well just finish doing the 7-Minute Belly Blast Workout with Dumbbells workout and I also did a 1 mile walk too this morning. I am off to a great start. Hubby went to the IEP meeting so I could relax at home. It great having to parents at home you know. Well got some house cleaning to do so I be back later.

Well just finish tracking my foods for today and did okay. I stayed within my calorie range. I walk a total of 3.5 miles to day and burned over 2040 in calories. Then we went food shopping and I got a bunch of healthy foods just for me like bag of salad mixes and tomatoes and cucumbers and low sugar oatmeal and yogurts and apples and strawberries and bananas and bags of frozen veggies and diet coke and 2 -24 packs of bottle water and fish fillets and chicken with peppers. Hubby and the kids pick out what they wanted as well everything came to 486. this will last about two weeks worth then we go shopping again. So my day went okay. Tomorrow we have an IEP meeting so we be gone in the morning. I will stop by later in the evening. Hope everyone had a nice Wednesday. Night everyone gonna go relax and spend time with hubby..

Hello everyone, I am new to the group. I joined yesterday. Despite being under the weather; I am doing my best to stick to my goals. I have been drinking lots of water and eating lite. I don't have the willpower to workout yet but I'm sure it's due to the pain meds that I'm currently on. I can't wait to be back at 100% so that I can get this body moving!

SANDY....I agree with PURPLEPEONY....just eat healthy. You can teach your whole family to eat healthy and not call it a "diet". When you are on the computer sites, you can look for healthy recipes. My family members are at a healthy weight, I'm the one who has to lose, so they eat as I eat ( I just stay within my calorie range). Include exercises that the family can do.

Watch me closely, Lord. I'm hungry, and I'm weak.

Can`t you just eat healthy without telling your daughter you are on a diet? Evidently she is hearing negative body image comments from you. Why do you even have to discuss losing weight around your child? Just eat healthier and exercise more, stop talking negatively about it or obsessing over it. If your child sees you having an unhealthy relationship with food then she is going to emulate that behavior. Sorry I`m with your hubby on this.

I walk the kids to school this morning and came home had breakfast. Made some phones calls and paid some bills. I swear you get money only to spend it all on bills lol. Got a call from my daughters school as well. Seem like my daughter Jennifer who 10 hasn't been eating her lunch. When they ask her about it she said she is dieting cause she think she too fat. They are worry cause she too skinny and I said well she eats at home so I really don't know what going on. I told my hubby and he blow up at me. Saying it is my fault cause she see me trying to lose weight and she following what I am doing. So we got into a fight over the whole mess. He wants me to stop dieting and going on diet sites as he blames me for what she doing. I just don't know what to do. I am obese and need to lose the weight you know. I just want to be healthy and fit. I want to see my kids grow up and get married and have their own children. But if I want to save my marriage I need to stop dieting all together. I am so stress right now. He doesn't want to see me on any sites what so ever. Right now he not home and I feel that I have to sneak just to come on here and it isn't right you know. I just don't know what to do. I sure hope my day get better. Any advice??

Happy St. Patrick's Day all. I had a great weekend keeping my kids we all went and played miniature golf and road bumper cars. Sorry for the new screen name as I use to be sandy92308 but somehow I got hack and had to redo everything on my laptop and close up all old sites. So I am starting fresh here on spark. I hate hackers you know. Husband took all day Sunday fixing my laptop as he had to reset from factory setting. It was a mess thank god he knows what to do. But I ended up losing all my pics and everything. The good news is I went from 235.8 down to 229.6. I lost 6.2 lbs since last Monday I am so proud of myself.. Well hope everyone had a great week and weekend. Sandy

Afternoon everyone, Well I started my day with a walk for 30 mins and then came back home and ate a nice healthy breakfast. Then went and did some shopping and just came back home. Hi Everyone, Sorry I been MIA been dealing with family stuff, Dealing with 6 kids and stuff isn't easy you know. I put myself last and fell off track and then my laptop broke and had to wait till I could afford another one. Took a while but I finally got another laptop thanks to hubby getting it from MDG http://www.mdg.com/finance/laptops.aspx?PID=google-usa-mdg&gclid=CNajv86Hi70CFRRsfgodGHUAcg&R= where you can buy one and pay monthly payments. I sure miss you all. I ended up gaining weight due to not eating healthy but I am here back on track. I am starting over fresh. I know that I haven't been much of a leader please forgive me. I am here now and plan on focusing on me again and now that I have a laptop I also plan on checking in more. Glad to see everyone is doing well. Sandy

I hope everyone is having a great week! I am snowed in (like half of the country). I just shoveled snow for 40 minutes…serious workout for my deltoids today! I am ready for spring, though! I need to be outside walking more!

Thanks for the advice. I was just looking at my water glass thinking that I am behind on my daily goal. I'm going to work on that. The snacking is mindless and out of a lack of structure on these unexpected days at home. I work well with structure so I need to figure out a game plan for these days.

I live in the Midwest and this winter has been brutal for us here. It has been very difficult to go outside and exercise. I have Leslie Sansone WATP videos. I use them when I can't walk outside (my exercise of choice) . I also exercise to the Spark videos. As far as eating, are you really hungry?? When I get that urge, I will drink water. Just hang in there, you will find what works for you when you can't get outside.

About 7 months ago, I moved to Connecticut for a job. Today, we are on our second snow day of the week which means I am home again. I have a couple of DVDs (Jillian Michaels, Insanity, etc.) that I could do. But I really hate being inside so much! Anyone else have this issue?

The other problem about being home - wanting to munch all day. So far, I've done well with only coffee and some fruit. I'm about to prepare my lunch.

How's everyone else?

Anyone else on here? I lost a good amount of weight in 2009 thanks to this group. I fell off track after the holidays that year and have yet to get back in the saddle with the same commitment. Hi Ladies;
It's great to connect with a few going through the same journey. I lost another lb weighing in this week so less than I hoped for but still ok. Can't let it get me down the slowness of it all.
I know what you mean Lisa about being hungry and wanting to eat but trying not to. The other night I wanted to eat but every time I went by the fridge I had to tell myself don't do it, don't do it. and I made it through. Last night had to baby sit the grandkids and of course what was out for dinner was mac and cheese and chicken strips. Fortunately I had made myself a big Greek salad to take and so had that and two chicken strips.
Gr8hawk - how about mixing up the exercise part? Can you do some other type of exercise that you would like? perhaps a dvd or something that would be fun? My sister lives all by herself out in rural Saskatchewan and she decided to take a cd player out to her dog kennel(she is a breeder) and put on her favorite music from 60's, 70's etc and just dance around as she does her chores. Perhaps a different type of exercise can kick start the body off that plateau.
Anyway I enjoy talking to you ladies for support and lets keep it up for the coming week. :)

Hi gals! I need to be here tonight so bad! I am just not wanting to eat right today. I guess since this is a lifestyle change, we will have times we do NOT want to eat right. I GUESS that is ok but I am NOT used to this feeling at all. I am used to starvation diets that end. There are times we are HUNGRY and NOT motivated and I guess we need to continue to log what we eat and what we do. I am still sore from the gym the other day, lol! So even though I ate more than I planned today, I am not going to gain all my weight back in one day!! In the past I would get to this point and give up...Haha mind! That aint happening this time! I am in for the duration!

Dragon Boat racing is so cool! I used to live in Portland and used to watch the races, great exercise I am sure! :) I like the 5 lbs at a time plan! It makes it easier to see progress when you don't think of NEEDING to lose 50 pounds just 5 pounds here and 5 pounds there! :)

My goal is to lose 50lbs also. I'm on the 5lbs at a time plan (my plan). I have lost 35lbs this way but I have come to a stand still, mainly because I am not motivated to exercise "consistently". I'm ok with tracking my calories 1200-1500 per day and getting in 64 oz. of water. I'm having a problem sticking to my exercise plan. I love walking outside, but I live in the Midwest and we have a lot of snow and cold weather. I have a treadmill and usually have to make myself walk on it 3 days a week. I'm not giving up, just got to get it in gear. I also usually gain during Oct-Dec but in 2013 I worked hard not to gain what I have lost so far. this journey is not easy, but it is one I have to endure to the end.

Hi Lisa;
Thanks for replying, I was thinking that this group no longer existed as there is not much activity. I am a member of a ladies only gym which I like as there is always room on the machines for me and I never have to wait. This works for me because I can go after work before I get home and don't want to venture out again. From the middle of march to the end of September I am a Dragon Boat Paddler and we practice twice a week and race in regattas on weekends so during that time I am pretty active. But what I tend to do is sit around for Oct through Dec and then I have to get myself in shape for March. Each year it seems I put on a little more weight during that time and so now my goal is to lose 50 lbs. 5lb a month is my mini-goal, otherwise it is overwhelming to think about. My job is a desk job so I don't get much activity that way. I see you ordered the Tracker, how do you like it? I am looking at it cuz it seems so easy to track exercise that is hard to figure out from the regular page tracker.

Hi Karen, I to, like to cook, I am finding it fun to learn to cook healthy, substituting low or no fat items and other items. I LOVE to eat and will be using the tracker for the rest of my life, just to keep myself on track. I HATE the word diet, cause diets end, then what? That weight is NOT coming back! Not if I have anything to say about it. Lol!

Today I had a huge breakfast and it kept me satisfied until I got home from work That was nice, only working 6 hours there is not lunch break. I actually just lied! Lol! They bought us pizza from Papa Johns...I had one piece of pepperoni pizza and it is still biting back. Guess I don't miss it that much any more. At least not today, lol!

I'm using the food tracker, I find it very helpful and makes you really accountable for what you put in your mouth. I am trying to stay within 1200 calories but know that for myself I have to stay away from carbs, because the more I eat of them the hungrier I get. I naturally drink a lot of water while at work so for me that's not a problem. I'm going to be looking for some more vegetable recipes this weekend, as it is supposed to rain buckets.
Maybe stuffed peppers or zucchini. I'm also trying to eat out of my freezer so I can use up stuff before it is too old. The trouble with a diet is that I like to cook. :(

Anybody still in this group?
I am from BC, over 50 and looking to drop some weight.
the name attacted me and so have not seen very many comments on it.
Trying to keep to a combination of low carb/low calorie options to drop the weight. I am usuaooy pretty active in the spring/summer /fall but don;t do much in the winter and now have to get back to the gym.
What are your strategies?

You have done a great job...WOW!!! It must be gratifying to know that you stuck with it and accomplished so much since you started. Keep up the good work.

Am still on track and am truly proud of the strides I have made.

I have been on this new eating plan a since December 1, 2013 and so far 7.5 down. Looking to lose another 4.2 lbs by January 12th. I might not make the 4.2 lbs, but I am gonna try to come close to it.

I'm 50 lbs down since May 2013 and have about 50 more to go. I have used Sparkpeople for several months now and it is a big help. After dieting for about 45 years I'm now recording my food each day along with my weight and exercise. I set up a new account to change my goals and kept the old one to go back and see how far I've come. If anyone want to communicate please write. I think talking with people really helps. emoticon

Happy New Year Everyone.

Let yesterday stay yesterday and lets start a new year off to a good start by eating healthy and exercising more and making better choices. How many of yous made resolutions last year and didn't follow thru with it? I know i have and even fell off the wagon too. But this is a new year and a new beginning. We can do it team let's make 2014 a better year..............

So for my resolution is, I want to lose weight and to try and quit smoking and to stress less and work on my marriage with less fighting and exercise more and to love myself and to love my body cause I am sexy at any size.

Well Christmas was good and the kids had a ball. Dinner was good as well. No we never found hubby wallet. He has to go get a new drivers ID and all his stuff replaced and even the kids insurance cards too. Sorry I haven't been on lately just been so busy. Today is hubby birthday and he and three kids came down sick with a stomach bug. So we calling off new years eve and new years day. I only hope i don't get it next. Well I am making 2014 a better year. I want to work on my marriage and exercise more and to stay focus and on track. Wishing you all a safe holiday. Happy new years to all.

Hi Well the kids are very excited that tomorrow is christmas eve and they made a note for santa and plan on leaving some baby carrots and cookies and milk. I finally got all my gifts wrap. Some how my hubby had his wallet stolen and everything was in it.So today he was calling all the credit cards and dmv so he could get another. What a mess you know. It's getting late and I want to head into the bedroom and relax before going to bed. So I may not get on tomorrow or christmas day. So I want to say Merry Christmas to all and may everyone have a bless holiday and a safe one too.

Well the swelling in my finger finally went down but it till a little raw on the sides of my knuckle. So wont be wearing a ring on that finger for a while. I was scared but he knew what to do thank god.

Today is my lazy day where I clean and do laundry. But I wanted to stop by and say hi to all.

I hear you on that. That why I try to walk when ever I can so I can count that as exercise you know. I walk the kids to and from school even.
