Hi to All..

Deb, sometimes I dont notice the sweat until the end of my wokrout, especially when the weather is a bit cooler. Or maybe you are not a big sweater:) Just a thought!!

Today I decided to take the day off since I have been working my tail off these last 2 weeks!! But I am going to try something new tommorrow! I am going to do 45 minutes of interval on my stationary bike but break it up into 15 minute sessions( 2 minutes hard then 1 minute easy and then 4 minutes hard, 1 minute easy) and in between those sessions I am going to do 1-2 minutes of strength. So I guess you could call in Interval-circuit training!! I will let you know how it goes!!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!! Kim

Hi all! Did the lower body video and 2 reps of the wall calf raises. Will try to do the other two later this evening. Did 30 minutes on my mom's magna trainer, 15 with my legs and 15 with my arms. I get tired of walking all the time to a video so I decided to do my cardio this way for awhile. At least until I get tired of it and need a change. I am actually contemplating starting to walk/run when our weather finally gets spring like. We actually got snow again today. Expecting 3-5 inches.

Right now I have a cold and am not too motivated. My throat feels like it has been sanded down with sand paper. My eating is out of hand right now. I am getting all my fruits and veggies each day but I am not doing well with the other things that are going in my mouth.

Now a question. I have never been an exerciser my entire life, so I don't know if this is normal or what. Laugh if you want to but I am not used to sweating. When I do my cardio, I don't notice myself sweating until I have completed my cardio. Is that normal? Am I not sweating during or do I just not notice it?

Sounds like everyone is doing well!

Have a great evening everyone! emoticon

Hi,
Deb, the arm exercise is what I really really need. Sounds good.
Shary, my butt was sore after pump class - it always is. All the squats I suppose.

Hi all!

I did the Leslie Sansone walking video part one and two for my cardio. I didn't get the videos done because I got lazy, I will not lie! I did watch tv and used my mom's Magna Trainer to do cardio for an additional 20 minutes or so. The magna trainer is like a mini bicycle that you can sit on a chair and pedal or sit the manga trainer on a table or chair and use your arms to bicycle. I'm feeling muscles in my arms I don't remember having.

Not doing the greatest on my eating today, but not totally horrible either.

Love the idea of us having our own team forum! Go Lisa!!!!

Have a great evening all!

Didn't get in the bootcamp today, but I am doing it first thing in the morning so that I make sure I get it in! I did get in a strength training routine and a jog/walk for a hour hour! Tomorrow is a new day! Onward and Upward!

Hi,
Made it to the gym for class and walked for 30 minutes on top of that. It is supposed to be nice tomorrow and hope that after I finish my meetings I can get in a walk. We have a new walkway over the Hudson River here and it is a great walk.
Sorry to be so short. Love this group also!

Congrats to all who lost inches or lbs. Congrats to the rest for hanging in there. I've bought the new Spark DVD(Fit,Firm) and like it. It has 7 day plans for workouts and a 15 min. workout that I do twice to get my 30 min. It really burns the calories! More than 30 min. of Cardio Blast did for me. I'm getting my exercises in, but really struggling to fit in time to track. I'm still fighting the chocolate urge.

My name is Peggy.

emoticon job Shary! It feels great when you can feel the difference in how your clothes fit!!!

Crystal, hang in there. Oversleeping definitely throws you off. I have found if I don't start my exercising, cardio mostly, in the morning, I have a hard time doing any of it. This is probably just my excuse. Hang in there, I can feel your pain! That's why I love this accountability group. I've had a couple of off weeks and if it weren't for this group I doubt I would still be exercising, or even thinking about it. I'm so glad I have this group!

Today I did 30 minutes cardio! and the video and challenge. Wow! Lisa you know how to pick them. Thanks again for keeping us going with the videos!

emoticon Tender on your weight loss!

Keep up the emoticon work Ellen!!

I'm still hanging in there.
Motivation is still low.
Overslept my alarm- kinda threw me off a bit. Got a walk in getting my daughter from school and around the block real fast after dinner. Just did some lateral lounges. It is still a struggle fitting in when to do exercise. When it clicks in I guess it'll finally stay in but working on it. Not giving up. Have a great evening see you guys here tomorrow.-Crystal

Everyone is doing so great! Keep up the great work peeps! I didn't end up weighing in this week but I'm back in it next week! I am going to start doing the interval training I did it last week and lost 2 pounds also I'm going to start doing the bootcamps again... if someone wants to visit my page every here and again for some encouragement and butt kicking that would be great... sometimes I have a hard time doing the strength of my fitness plan! Well I hope everyone is doing good today!

Everyone seems to be doing so well today. I got in my 50 minutes on the elliptial plus other exercise and ate pretty well. Have not done a good grocery shopping lately and need to really stock up on fruits/veggies. The time change is such a killer in the morning. I had an awful time getting to sleep last night and then getting up this morning.
Had to do all the exercise tonight after work. Tomorrow night is cardio pump. And the sun is supposed to come out. Yea!

emoticon on the weight loss everyone!

Eating wise I am not off to a great start this week. I got the video in today and the challenge. 4 sets of 12 wall push ups. I haven't been exercising much so I didn't push it past 12. No cardio today but feel good about getting the video and challenge done. I did some yard work yesterday so counted that as my cardio. Getting a cold of some sort and my energy is not up to par. Just when I am getting back into a routine, something else comes up.

Hope all is well with everyone else! Keep up the great job!

Hey everyone. Just wanted to check in and make sure you are all doing well. It looks like as a team we are working towards our 40 lb loss quite effectively.

Next month, April... I would like to try putting some focus on a body part that you would like to change. This will be in addition to our regular bootcamp. For me, I will be focusing on my thighs and I will work them everyday. If you want to join in on this challange, just shoot me an email prior to April 1st with your chosen body part and I will send you a weekly email of target moves to do.

I have seen such great improvement in 2010. I was looking back and I have lost a total of 17lbs this year- not huge but it is pretty goos. I have also lost a total of 17 inches. That has made a HUGE difference. NONE of my old clothes fit. I have had to get new ones. I am down from an 18-20 to a 10-12. WOOHOO.

I have seen that interval training works to move the inches and the pounds so we will continue with that into April as well. I would like your thoughts on what we can call April's Bootcamp. Something cool and funky or uplifting and fresh. Re-motivation for all of us.

Talk to you soon!

I still feel uncomfortable, putting on my ankle straps for my weight machine. I have to stand, literally, nose-to-nose with my bedroom door and then bend over to velcro the straps around my ankle. Very awkward. But I need more lower body exercises anyway. I will do my weight program as usual and try to add some more tummy exercises.

Hello Ladies,
Just got back a few minutes ago from a nice walk with a neighbor.
I gained 2 pounds but it might just be water retention during my time of the month.
I did 2 sets of 50 jumping jacks. I think that's all for today since it is late now.
I should be feeling more myself tomorrow. My monthly visitor should be totally gone.
Be good to yourselves everybody.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I am going to get some exercise in tomorrow. I need to get back into the routine.

Running today again and ate out. Ate in moderation again. I am very proud of myself this week for keeping the eating out under control. I had fajitas today. Ate half and brought the rest home. Ate the other half for supper.

I am looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow. I may not lose and I am hoping I do not gain. I have eaten in moderation this week and made sure that I had all my water and fruits and veggies.

Good luck everyone! I'm sure all your hard work will pay off. I look forward to cheering for your weight loss for the week.

Deb

Ok Shary, let us know how you did on your exercise.I admire you for posting that you'll do it before you do it. Way to go!

Congrats Ellen on the measurements! That counts for more. I can't wait to be able to get one size smaller in pants, who cares what the scales say!

Rach, I teach 2nd grade, and I'm in the last semester of getting my EdS. Why does the last seem so much longer and harder? Just 5 or 6 weeks more.

Hey there Ladies,
Not getting any videos or challenges done-but I'm still walking my daughter to school and cleaning my house is a workout.
I have my monthly visitor -so trying to motivate myself is really difficult. Yet it has not been terrible and I don't have any real cravings yet.
Everybody is doing so well and its nice to see some of us have come back to this thread.
Deb- you are doing fine. You have come so far. Maintaining a large loss is a great accomplishment don't be hard on yourself. So proud of your great self control while dining out.
Lisa and Leslie-you gals really motivate me. You have such busy lives and still have the time for so many fitness minutes and time to lift us up on a bad day-wow.
I'm going to try to go easy on myself.
You ladies rock. Have a great weekend everybody.-Crystl

Hi All!!!!
It is nice to see everyone doing so well! I have been getting back on track of taking care of me :) My colleagues at school and I have finally started going out once a week just to relax from the week- and boy has that been helping. I think the change in weather is starting to help too! Have a great weekend all!!!

Peg- I totally understand the crunch of school. I feel so bad when I leave so early to get to work and then I am not getting home till way late- and by then I'm pooped! What do you teach?

Hi,
Just took my measurement, have not done it in a while and was happy to see that the measurements show more than the scale. I had an inkling because my darling daughter told me this week that my thighs don't shake as much as they used to! I do love getting older.....everything turns to jelly!
Anyway, rainy day today, will have to remain active and stay OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!!
Deb....our downstairs floods sometimes, unfortunately we don't have a basement and instead it is the tv room, DH work room and the laundry which get underwater. Luckily we can use a giant squeegee and push the water out the front door. My heart goes out to you....what a pain.
Hope everyone has a healthy Saturday!

Way to go everyone! Sounds like everyone is doing a good job!

Leslie, volleyball is so much fun. I don't think I could play anymore.

Shary, Great job! Keep it up!

Ellen, great job! Thanks for the support! It means a lot.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Deb

My eating went well today but my exercise was non-existent. Had to take the dog to vet to have two teeth removed, dropped him off at 8 am, headed to Des Moines for two appointments for my youngest daughter, lunch at Red Lobster. I was so proud of myself, I had skewered grilled shrimp, wild rice, and broccoli! Uh...then I split a decadent dessert with my daughter. May not lose this week, but hope not to gain. Our basement flooded and we can't get our brand new hot water heater to re-light! Have to do more running with hubby tomorrow. Going to pick up his eye glasses and then put in a sump pump and find someone we can beg a shower from. Sunday we have to move limbs from a previous ice storm to our back yard to wait for dryer weather to burn. It has been a week, let me tell you. Thank you everyone for being here, I will get back on track with my exercise. I feel so much better when I do!

Hello all, sounds like everyone is doing good. I have stuck to the exercise and gotten it in first thing every morning. I've had meetings and classes after school this week that left not one min. some days. I started at 5 a.m. and didn't get home until about 8 or later each night! Needless to say I did not do very good at putting in all I ate. I hated it, but had to get some sleep. Some of you have dropped by with notes and goodies, thank you, thank you. It really helps to have others pulling for you. I have a much easier week coming up.

Good for you, Leslie! V-ball is so much fun! Didn't feel like working out so put it off and put it off. But those weights hang on my bedroom door facing the living room, not 5 ft from where I sit. I just couldn't resist! The machine is just so addicting. I even did more than the day before, which had been my most productive day!

Well, my band is still MIA and I'm too tired to do another video tonight! LOL We went and played volleyball tonight for over 2 hours. I was excited, we got a text saying "wanna play v-ball tonight, competitive players only tonight". Was so cool to be considered competitive again! It was awesome, we played 5 against 5 for about 1 hour then 4 against 4 for about 1.5 hours! Worked up a good sweat and running around all over the place. emoticon emoticon

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello everyone!

I did ok on my eating today but I have not exercised today. I did cardio yesterday but got busy today and let the time get away from me and didn't exercise at all. I have to take my dog to the vet, my daughter to the orthodontist and gynecologist, and pick up a sump pump as our basement is flooded. I hope I find time to exercise tomorrow. I won't in the morning because right now we don't have any hot water. It will have to wait until I get home so I don't stink. Send exercise thoughts my way tomorrow.

Welcome back Rach! Life gets hectic sometimes. I agree with you these people are awesome!

Have a great evening everyone!

Hi All...

Just wanted to sign in quick as it is late!!

I think Ellen is right...instead of only focusing on what the scale is saying now, we need to also focus on what we have already accomplished!! Those are the big numbers!! This really is a lifestyle change and we shouldnt be killing ourselves to lose the weight quickly.

Lisa I would definitely think about taking a day off or atleast doing something light one day a week. You dont want to overdue it and injure yourself. Anyhow it is nice to take one day to relax emoticon

Sound like everyone is doing well!!

Monday I got in 30 minutes of interval sessions and the video! Tuesday I wasnt feeling well and took the day off. Today I did 46 minutes of interval session and the video. I bought a jump rope and did 6 sets of 30!! Tommorrow I need to do some aerobics!! My eating has been much better this week and am not allowing myself to eat anything except fruit/yougart at night!! Gotta get some sleep!!

Keep at it ladies!! Kim

Hi,
I was just reading the posts and you ladies have so much to be proud of. Lisa, you have lost OVER 73 pounds! Deb, you have lost over 35 and Lesie you have lost almost 22! Sometimes I know we get discouraged but you have achieved so much so far.
Lisa, I really agree you need to either decrease exercise a bit or increase calories. Isn't it true that the body goes into "starvation mode" if you don't do that? And, this is the rest of your life you are looking at, the goal is to make lifelong changes. Especially with young children to care for you need your energy!
Anyway, you guys are great. Be PROUD!!! emoticon

Leslie- I am looking forward to the C25K as well. I was reading up on the weight loss stopping stuff and I think I need to change up my routine to shock my system back into weight loss mode. I am starting on Sunday and I will still be doing our Bootcamp as well and the Quickfire challange also. I hope everyone is doing good. Deb- thanks for the article. I will read it and see what happens. I was burning about 7000 cals/week and SP said I needed to eat over 2200 calories. I really don't know HOW to eat that much. Crazy right!! Anyway, thanks to all of you for the support, help and motivation. I know without you guys I wouls have already threw in the towel. I am sitting at 173 right now and I want to see 169 so bad I can taste it. I was 167lbs before I got pregnant with my boys. Once I reach 167 I get a 1/2 spa trip so I am really trying to get there. I can really see the changes in my body and my dear hubby keeps pointing out the changes in my body as well.

I like the resistance band videos almost as much as the stability ball videos. I have gotten some really good ideas from the Quickfire challanges so I will be incorporating some of those ideas into next month's Bootcamp as well.

Keep up the great work everyone. We can dot it. 160ville here I come!!

Lisa, try recalculating the calories you need to eat each day. You may need to be eating more calories since you are exercising so much. I believe I read something to the effect that if you are burning way too many calories your body will start plateauing because you are basically in starvation mode. Here is one article I found. I will continue looking for more to see what else is out there. www.sparkpeople.com/resource/referen

Well, I got up and did my elliptical for 15 mins before work. Went to the gym after work and did 30 mins on the treadmill then took a cardio pump class which I know I will feel tomorrow. When I got home it was late & I was starving. Went over 80 cals for the day. (Was it the irish soda bread or chocolate chip cookie that put me over???)
Anyway, I am still 712 steps short of my 10,000 step goal. Guess I will have to jog in place while I watch tv.
