Hi Joye: I live in Nevada County. So far this diet looks pretty awesome. I will have to google Sonoma County. Ok, I googled it. Beautiful there. Due west of me.

I got back home so I weighed on my scale. Since this will be the one I use for the next several months I am changing my weight to match it. Still lost just not as much.

The last time I visited my son I weighed myself. That was at Christmas. I came back yesterday to visit and I have lost 13 pounds. I started BFC a week ago so I am not sure if I lost that in a week or since Christmas. But for the first time in a long time I actually lost!! I try to weigh on the same scale.

These are the stairs I have to get up and down without dying(LOL).

Two pounds is a great start! I know when I was younger, I thought 2 pounds was nothing. Now, I'd be so happy and grateful to lose 2 pounds steadily every week! Heck, I'll even take 1 pound a week although I'd love for it to come off faster! Well, you are off to a good start.
Although I did mess up and stray for a few days off of the plan, I still have to say this is the best eating plan for losing weight that I've ever found. I keep thinking it can't possibly work but when you stick to it, it seems to work!

I hope things are going well for you all here. I just joined the team this week and I'm not sure who is still here. I have had a good first week on the plan and I hope the weight loss continues. I'm curious to know how others are doing too. I've been very surprised at how easy it has been to stick to this way of eating. PMARTIN, how did your first week go?

JHOPPHAN,

Congratulations on 6 lb loss. I am not surprised with you consuming more carbs sometimes. Medical studies I read said this happens when our diet eliminates or severely restricts a certain food group. Our body needs carbs for normal brain, thyroid and metabolism function. Plus your glucose could be too low and cause you to eat more carbs. Our body likes balance and when something is low or off and it can not balance itself, our body signals us to consume what is missing for survival.

I heard rumblings about it, but I don't do Facebook. I'm on his email list and get things from him quite a bit. There are a couple of Youtube videos about a new program. So that could be what he was talking about.

I have lost 6 lbs. in two months. I tend to follow bfc very well for a few days at a time, then eat between 120 to 200 plus g of carbs on the following days. I probably cheat too much on weekends. This causes my weight loss to be very slow. I fluctuate back up a couple of lbs on these too-frequent unintentional "cheat" days.

I eat right and exercise but not losing the belly. I lost weight and inch and half from my waste and thighs, but nothing in belly area. I eat all the foods that lead to belly loss, but it won't budge. Any ideas?

I read we are only suppose to stay on 1200 calories for a week. 1200 calories is for fast loss. Then body gets use to this amount and goes into starvation mode and we stop losing or may gain weight. Switch to 1500 calories daily after a week.

Sonia,

Lack of hunger is not surprising to me since I have same problem. Made pack with my trainer to eat more even if I am not hungry. Took a month, and it is working.

My daughter has fibro. Do you take something for it? She does and went from walking to taking exercise classes three times a week. Pilates is great. I was in great shape when I did it. Then instructor left.

Yes I try to exercise but I have Fibromyalgia so there are days it's not possible. I do a lot of walking but weights are out of the question right now. I also want to get into some light yoga/pilates or qi-chong. I've heard it helps with the Fibro.

As for the calories - on the BFC calorie counting isn't necessary, but since I keep track of my food I eat, I've notice how few I do actually eat. I'm not starving and rarely hungry.....strange.

Maybe you are not eating enough...it slows your metabolism. We aren't supposed to eat less than 1200 per day. Do you exersize?

It sounds like you are doing a bit more of the Fast Track because that is a grain-free version of the BFC. That's great that it is working for you.

I do eat some wheat but not much at all because I have a gluten intolerance. I don't eat a lot of "bread type" carbs as it is. My carbs come from the veggies and very little fruit. My caloric intake is somewhere around 1000-1200 per days. Isn't it a great feeling not to feel hungry?

Keep up the great work!

Sonia, I was on this diet, eating the whole wheat carbs, brn rice, etc. I was only eating it 2x a day. I was gaining weight! I have discovered about myself that I just can't eat those carbs and lose. So I am sticking to lots of greens, 2 eggs each am + either turkey sausage or 2 Canadian bacon. 4 oz protein in my salad at lunch and the same with some veggies like broccoli at night. I have a few almonds for a snack and b/4 bed I eat 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese in some sugar free jello with some chopped walnuts sprinkled on top...that's it and I am rarely hungry. It took me about 4 days to get not hungry on this, but I am doing great now. I hope this helps. I know I am way under the 15/20 he recommends. More like 0/5! I hate being hungry, but I am ok. I just have to write it down or else I go over. Actually I have been only eating between 1000-1300 calories.

That is fantastic - congratulations!!!

Even though the BFC doesn't count calories, I'm finding that it's hard for me to reach the daily calorie range that I'm supposed to be in. I eat plenty believe me...perhaps it's what I'm eating?

Congrats to you!

The Fast Track is a grain-free, less carb, less sugar sort of plan. But you don't count the S/C value on the Fast Track. You follow menu ideas and food choices so you would need to purchase the book.

I don't have the book, but I have a lot of resources that Jorge provided when I was doing the testing phase of the FT. I don't see why you couldn't lose the 5lbs doing it.

You could also eliminate some of the 15 sugars you're eating or change it up daily and stay on the regular BFC. This really is a successful plan.

Lost another LB! Whoo hoo! I am not losing quickly...but a pound is a pound. I just really need to kick it in to high gear.

Can anyone tell me what the fast track provides? is it more like 15/3 instead of 15/6? Less carbs? I got the book but overall just curious.

I really need to lose 5 more lbs to break my 150 lb. wall that I always seem to hit!

Thanks for being here everyone!
Cheers to weight loss! emoticon
