:) I found the love of my life...challenges are challenges. Every relationship has them, just a matter of realizing what's more important. Him being pos scares me, but losing him scares me a million times more.
I definitely agree with making sure there is chemistry. My SO I have a feeling hasn't been super picky bout who knows and doesn't know... I actually figured it out for myself, he disclosed he had it very openly on a social media site with his name and picture attached to it. I honestly never looked at what he had posted once I realized I grew up with him, just started talking. But eventually I put 2 and 2 together and went back and actually read his profile on the site. But had he not been someone I already knew and grew up with, I probably would have reacted differently then I did...I already knew the chemistry was there for us by the time I put it all together. By that point, I could have cared less. Did my research then we talked..and it doesn't honestly phase me, I know a lot of people likely don't respond the same way since I know there is still a stigma.
I'm not really sure who my SO has and hasn't told, I haven't asked him and we are still long distance so I don't press a whole lot right now.
I have found a couple people in the same situation I am, neg dating pos, who I have talked to...it's nice to have someone who understands and I can go to with questions. My best friend also knows, but she's my best friend..there's nothing we don't tell each other, we don't judge and she's been really supportive. Both working healthcare, we've both been around residents in the past with it and already had a decent understanding. She's helped me think of things to look up and ask my SO that I never would have.
You're right, not everyone needs to know. Everyone in my life knows and later in life, it's no big deal; however, when they first found out in 1990, I lost a lot of friends. But things have changed quite a bit since then.
