I quit diet soda a few months ago and I cried the whole first week. I was so angry that it was such an addiction and I didn't realize it! I do know that as soon as it was out of my system my carb cravings almost completely disappeared. keep up the good work!! emoticon

Yeah, I've got a small surgery coming up, and am trying to not drown my woes in a glass of wine each evening, tempting as those empty calories might be.

I've started a new post with the challenge, so please sign on!

I pack a sandwich bag grapes and a bottle of water for school everyday. My goal for the month is no diet soda ( never drank the regular soda). Haven't had any in 2 weeks already.

OK, so what kind of "_________ Free February" will YOU aim for?????

And don't forget a good reward for yourself!!!! Post your ideas.

For me, it's day 5 of no pizza shop (not that I was eating pizza every day, but their healthier choices are limited, portions too big, and all of it gets expensive a few times a week)....

Today I've packed cantaloupe and celery and peanut butter for lunch, and my own water.

Have a good hump day everybody!!!!

Meowmama, I like that idea too. I have made a lot of healthy choices this past month, I had quit smoking the end of January, cut out splenda and diet sodas, I eat a more clean meal plan with fruits and veggies and very little whole, grain carbohydrates. A challenge like that would be nice to help me continue to incorpirate my healthy habits and keep me successful.

Hi all!

Phebe, you are absolutely right about a challenge being needed to round us up and generate some positive team energy.

Here's an idea that I'm actually on my 5th successful day of following: My best friend and I have a business right between a pizza shop and and ice cream shop. We both spend too much money there and eat the wrong things when we are frazzled or lazy or binging or whatever. So, We started a Pizzeria Free February and aren't allowing ANY food from next door except for tea or coffee for the whole month. The ice cream shop doesn't tempt us as much as the pizza shop.

So maybe it could be a "Pick Your Poison" Free (Remainder of) February Challenge! ?
btw, we're going out for a night at the casino as a reward in March!

I walk, have an ellipitical , do workout dvds like the walk away the pounds dvds. Either a fitness minutes challenge and maybe a nutrition challenge to eat more fruits, or drink plenty of water.

Do you walk or run, or what? Just so I can put together something that works for both of us.

Sounds good to me, I need to have someone or something to be accountable to.

Okay, let me think about this and I'll post a challenge in a few days. Joining is optional - but we'll do something, even if it's only the two of us.

I could use a fitness challenge. Been crazy busy with my three kids and hubby. Hes doing a lot better now since being on medicine. Its still hard to believe at times that our life has changed but were going through this together.

I've noticed a lot of our team has become no-shows - either busy with other things, or drifting off.

So do we need a challenge to get more people involved? Back on track? A fitness challenge? A nutrition challenge? Maybe tracking our steps or miles and hitting a certain goal?

What works for you all?
