Yeah, my issues are usually not from exercising. My issues are do to past injuries, my scoliosis and other muscle issues, and other health issues. But I figured maybe the same things that help those issues might help with what the topic was about. All my best to you all always. Good night

Thanks Debby, I just have to remember to take them before I go to bed. I have medication to give the puppy at that time and I seem to remember his and forget mine! ;-)

Lively thanks we have Biofreeze and I use Icy-Hot too.

JMA thankfully I stretch at the end of each exercise and that is wonderful!

Thanks Friends!! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Yes, LIVELYGIRL2, the stuff you're thinking of is called BioFreeze. I've tried it but didn't think it worked for me. I just suffer through it.

I try massaging the area myself first, if it still bothers me then stretching, and if it still bothers me I might use a heating pad or an electric vibrator on the area. I some times get leg cramps at bed time, for those water and calcium seem to help. But mostly mine is my lower back, left hip and right side muscles from my scoliosis.

There is some product they sell at most Chiropractors office. it has a white bottle and green writing. I wanted to say Bio Freeze but I'm not sure.

I also heard that Deep Blue Rub is good ( doterra).

Some like those " E" ...salts

Debbie, I'd like to talk to you about senior care. We are trying to help our mom. Would you have a few minutes to answer an e-mail?

I think your in Arizona right?

I've never really tried anything that worked for sore muscles after exercising. I'm sure there are things of course. Minerals sound like the right thing though. Had my DH in bed after our move here with muscle spasms in his back. Even massage didn't work. Every time he tried to get up his back would spasm. One day thought to give him my "Bone Up" bone vitamin mixture that the ND recommended. Within an hour he was better.

So glad to hear the team isn't folding! For now let take turns asking questions. One a day?!!

Debby so glad you want to stick around, just not lead! I don't have lots of time to lead but would work with you.

EJ sure wish things were different but so glad you are doing things on fb.

Sorry forgot who asked but kale and leeks are good fresh veggies this time of year. We have a potato and leek soup that is yummy! Kale can be washed. lightly salted and dried in the oven on a low temp until crispy. Like potato chips. Very good.

Question today - what do you do to help with sore muscle pain from exercise? I take minerals at bedtime and it helps with Charlie Horse cramps during the night.

So glad everyone wants to stick around and keep this group "alive"!! Thanks to you all for your friendship!!

Debbie, you can remove yourself as leader or EJ can do it for you and you will stay on the team. You won't be removed from the team unless you do it yourself.

Or EJ can remove herself that way and you could just hold the title of leader for us, and not really do any leading. You could just check in at least once every 60 days and that would work. There should be automatic msgs going out to new members. So really you shouldn't have to do anything other than just check in with the team at least once every month or so. And that way you know you won't get kicked out of the team trying to get out of the leader position. And then when ever someone else agrees to lead the team or co-lead the team, then you could decide it you wanted to remove yourself from the leader position that you would have just been holding for us to keep the team going.

Yes see it. I think EJ can remove herself that way. Maybe once she does, than I can. Who knows. It's not that big of deal really. Just don't want to lead is all. I'm a follower haha.

Hmmm, I don't really know about that. Maybe you have to set some one else up as a leader or co-leader before you can remove yourself and just be a team member again? Or maybe you can remove yourself and just be a team member? I can see on my team's page on the right hand side where I click to send out team msgs or team goodies, there is an option in there to add or remove team leaders. So maybe you could remove yourself or maybe EJ can do it and maybe you could just be a team member again, but not sure. I think that would be a question you will have to ask SP. Maybe that would be a question to post in to the team for SP team leaders? Or just ask SP help about it? I really don't know. I have only agreed to be a co-leader of one team. And the leader of that team has been absent for medical reasons, but never bothered to remove herself. She had added other co-leaders on and off and they have all since decided not to co-lead and all but one has removed herself as a co-leader. So my team shows I have 2 co-leaders but really it is just me and I haven't tried to kick the other leaders out of their leadership status. I would love for them to come back and help, and maybe some time they will or maybe they won't? I have offered to add other people to come help me co-lead, but no takers on it. So I just do the best I can with it. So times I am a lot more active and other times not so much. Like last week I was in class all day long, so I wasn't on SP much at all that week. But I always checked in at least once in one place or another of my team each day. But looks like as long as you check in at least once every 60 days it keeps the leadership status going.

Interesting JMA. I have no idea how to remove myself from the coleader position, and still stay a member. Thought only way is to unjoin the team. I really don't want to leave this team, just to get myself off as co leader.

There was at least one if not a couple that no one was leading and no one was posting in. But I am not in them any more. I am pretty sure I remember choosing to leave them since I was the only one posting in them for a while and I just got to busy to deal with all my teams. So I choose to leave the ones that no one was posting in. But I am still in several that have had no team leader for a really long time now.

I hope that helps you all. All my best always. Janette

Here is what SP post when a team leader becomes inactive and doesn't post in their team for a certain time period:

{Inactive Team Leader

The current team leader has not posted here in the last 60 days. If you would like to submit a request to become the Team Leader, please click here.

If you submit a request, a message will be sent to the leader. The leader has the option to accept or deny your request to lead the team. If the leader does not respond to the message within three days, you will automatically be made a co-leader for this team.}

I think I might still be in one that no one is posting in, let me check that?

Thanks Debby! I totally understand! I am on several other teams that had no one step up to be the leader. And as far as I know, the only thing SP did was to send msgs out to the team members trying to see if they could get one of us to step up and lead it. That worked some times at least for a while for some of the teams. But some of those new leaders also stepped down a little bit later and left the team with out a leader again. And some of the teams never got any one to step up to lead. And they all just went on with out a leader. The only difference is that SP puts a notice on the team that it is with out a leader and asks any new members if they want to lead it, or if they really want to join a team with out a leader. If after a while with no leader the members stop posting in the team, then another msg gets put on the top of the team page to let new people know that the team is inactive, and do they want to try to get it going again, or do they really want to join a team that is inactive. Let me go look at some of those that I am in like that and see if SP has done any thing different to them.

But I think as long as some one just steps up and agrees to lead, then the team will go on with out any special notices going on it by SP. And like I said the team leader doesn't really have to do any thing except just hold that spot for the team. They can make new threads if they want, send out team goodies when ever and why ever they want. But they really don't have to do any thing as long as the team agrees that the person is just filling in that spot until the team can get some one else to agree to be the leader and run it how ever they choose to run it.

Hi Team!

I did post once, but will post again. I cannot lead the team. Most of you know my family situation, but for those who don't here it is. I am a caregiver to my 93 year old mom, and my daughter with seizures moved in 6 months ago. I had to get up and post really early to have the time at all. I can stay as a team member, but not as leader or coleader. I hope you understand.

Many of the members here are also on the other team I joined this week. I'm not sure if they are allowed to post freely on that team about natural cures or not yet. Time will tell.

Love so many of you. Hope someone will come forward that has the time to lead this team. I would hate to see all the postings disappear completely. Not sure how Sparks handles this.

Thanks Kelly, I forgot to respond to that question. I don't do the cooking in our house. My boyfriend is the one that does the cooking. We get a lot of frozen veggies so we don't have to worry about it spoiling on us before we use it. We do buy a lot of fresh salad fixings, like romaine lettuce, carrots, cabbage, kale, spinach, tomatoes, avocados, raisins, celery, cucumbers and such. We like getting fresh potatoes, sweet potatoes, or yams, different squash, zucchini and such. He also picks out stuff for making stir fries on and on too. Berries we either get fresh or frozen too.

I should be more up with working with vegetables that are in season but I have been using a lot of carrots in stuff right now. Soup, stews, steamed, stir fried and raw - in answer to your question LLREED (Lisa).

I never saw a msg from Debby stating if she was staying on leading or leaving? But she hasn't seemed to post in here lately about this either. And I see she joined another team two days ago for Natural Remedies. So maybe she isn't planning on leading or co-leading? They won't shut the team down right away if at all as long as there are people still posting in here. What they will do is to try to get one of us to take over the leadership position if Debby or EJ stays away too long. They the team will be up for grabs by whomever agrees to take on the task of leading the group. Whom ever agrees to lead it can lead it how ever they so choose. They can have a real hands on approach where they constantly post new topics, challenges, games, send out welcome msgs, Spark Goodies, and other stuff. Or they can have a more hands off approach, where they just post in the team once in a while, maybe send out welcome msgs, or maybe just let the people be welcomed by the automatic welcome msgs, and maybe send out Spark Goodies every once in a while. And just let the info that is already in here from EJ and the team speak for itself. I am on several teams, and they all have team leaders that do one of these or fall some where in between.

I am already leading another team and struggling to keep up with my real hands on approach of it, along with all the training for my new career, and my home life. So I don't want to take on any more responsibility than what I have already bitten off.

But I would have no problem with you LLREED taking over the team and running it how ever you think you can afford to spend the time on it. Or if any one else wants to give it a try?

Otherwise SparkPeople will just let us go on limping on if neither of our team leaders post in here for a while.

So I guess it is up to the rest of us to decide if we want to just try to hang on, or if you all want to bail and go to another Natural Remedies team, or just drop the team, or what.

I am really busy, but I do check in when I can. And I do try to respond to my msgs in here asap. Janette

I just found this team and would really hate to see it eliminated. I would be happy to co-lead, but don't have the time or the resources to be leader of a team like this. I love all the information and have benefited already from it. I have found the facebook page and joined it but I prefer the layout of Spark over facebook.

Here's a question for the day (if I may be so bold): What kind of veggies are you finding in season right now and how are you fixing them?

I am too busy right now, struggling with the one team I am already leading, and with home life and new career.

Maybe Debby will keep it going? If not, they will let the team go on for a while with out a leader, I know it has happened with other teams I am on.

Other wise maybe some one can step up to lead, or maybe a couple or few people could step up to co-lead.

Either way, all my best to you all always. Janette

Livelygirl2, all my best to you and your's always.

1. No gym membership.

2. I am really not a morning person, but I usually get woke up around 6 am or earlier from the rest of the house hold. So I would say I have more energy around 10 Am or so, then early in the morning. Some times I can get tired around 2 pm or 3 pm depending on how well I slept or didn't sleep previously. Or sometimes I can get tired around 5 pm - 6 pm depending on how that day went and how well I did or didn't sleep before. I usually get tired in the later evening now since I get woke up so early. Where when I lived on my own I got got later in the morning and stayed up late and wasn't so tired all the time like I have been since I moved in with my boyfriend and his son. When I had a place of my own I could take a nap when ever I wanted and sleep in when ever I wanted with out having other people or dogs waking me up. My dog that I owned before moving here would take naps with me and was really good and quiet when I wanted sleep. Our two newer dogs jump on and off the bed, wander the house and bark a lot when ever I have tried to take a nap. And the boyfriend's son doesn't know what the word "Quiet" is, or "do not disturb", or "do not wake up", lol.

3. I make the bed more to try keep the dirt the dogs track in on the top throw blanket and hopefully out of the sheets.

4. I already posted a separate msg about food and drinks from Mexico. I am not one to want to try to chance stuff from there. I have heard too many stories of people getting really bad stomach sickness from their water and such.

5. Water or tea. That is pretty much what I drink all day long.

6. No indoor plants. I have tried growing an avocado seed plant a few times and then putting them outside. Tried growing mint and basil in the house once, but they didn't do good in the house. Put them outside and they died a long with the avocado plants that I started too.

7. First pet was a dog named Susie, also had a cat named Princess about the same time as the dog. But I think the dog came first? And the dog lived longer than the cat. They were both outside pets as we had family members allergic to animals. We got both the dog and cat when I was really little. The dog was a mix of Beagle, Cocker Spaniel and Dachshund. She was mostly black white a white belly/chest marking and some brown markings like on the eyebrows, lower face, feet and such. The cat was black with white markings on the chest too I believe. The dog died when I was about 13 I think. I think the cat disapeared on us several yrs earlier. There were people that trapped cats at that time and got rid of them on their owners. Or poisioned cats and dogs with tanted meats, treats or such. And some times cats would just get accidently hit in the streets by cars going by.

So sorry to hear that you might be leaving and that sparks is causing you problems. Will see you on FB.

As for the dog we had one in England that was named pugsley and we ended up giving him to a lady that lost her husband and then their pet. It also would of cost us over $800 to just bring him back with us. He went to a good place.

The first pet I can remember was a siamese cat that we named Pywacket. It was the name of the witches' cat in the book that my Mom liked (Bedknobs and Broomsticks or something like that). After she died we got another Siamese that I named Py 2 (also known as the symbol pi and 2 as in pi squared - a math term) since I was really into science and math in high school.

Oh, yeah, for the question about foods from Mexico: I live really close to there. When ever we get really good rains for several days it floods really easy in Mexico. Then pesticides, animal and human waste gets all over everything even where it is not suppose to be. They already have problems with their water all the time as it is. So tourist are always advised never to drink the water there unless it is bottled or boiled. Not even to let a restaurant put ice cubes in your drinks. Their health standards are not the same as ours. So I don't trust foods from there. Just like I don't trust any foods from China either as we have all heard too much about our poor pets getting poisoned from stuff we buy for them that comes from there like food, treats and toys. Yeah, some of it could be just fine, but you never know? I choose not to take the chance on it. I just by from USA. Janette

LIVELYGIRL2, You should be able to go to each comment you don't want showing on your wall/timeline in FB and at least hide it from your wall. You can not delete it permanently from all the places it is posted on FB like on her wall or your son's wall as far as I know.

Oh EJ, I will really miss you. I know you can't do it all.

I would very much like to keep in touch. I know I've only talked to you live once, but it would be delightful to continue on this relationship.

Although I don't go to FB constantly, I do read it at time. I very much like to see the new information and discus things. I did sign up for one free course at a nutrition college. I don't have the income to do it fully, but like to keep up with the new stuff or be educated. I don't t really know how to interact with some of the things on FB. For example, I would like to erase some AM type conversations with our sons previous girlfriend.

BTW- I shared briefly, that my sister and I are trying to get additional help for our mom that reinjured her back. She has to move by April. So many tips on working the system or managing stress ( you can send me by mail here ). Just one thing I'm doing is greens smoothies. I do think it is helpful.

I had 2 wild tiny kittens when I was just 3 or 4 yrs old. I loved holding them and feeling their soft fur. But they would scratch me and it worried Mom, so Dad and Mom gave them to someone else since they wouldn't be tamed. I wasn't sure what that memory was but asked Mom a few months before she died and she told me we did have 2 little wild kittens for just a couple weeks and why we didn't keep them! She didn't want her "baby Girl" scarred for life. LOL I don't think we named them or if we did, I don't remember. We had many cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, and white mice for pets over the years!!

Feb 23, Monday

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Question of the Day.

What was your first pet's name? And what was it?

Mine was a dog. His name was Bugsy. He was a black cocker spaniel with brown eye brows. He was quite the protector. They got him before I was born, and he died when I was 7.

Praising the Lord for all the rain (even it if turns to snow or ice) we are getting today! We learned today our nearest lake had been down 11 ft but since the small amounts of rain we have gotten over the winter we are now only down 9 ft! Still need much more to be able to survive the hot summer.

I thought I just didn't have a green thumb, back when I had houseplants. Never grew right, puny little things. Then I moved to another house. My spider plant had tons of off shoots, I had my creeping charlie that grew to the floor almost. So light is very very important. Of course, you have to remember to water them too haha.

I try to keep some house plants as they put more oxygen into the air, but I do *not* have a green thumb. I have a Christmas cactus, 3 pineapple plants (when getting ready to eat a fresh one plant the top!) and a peace lily. Also have 2 fake ferns! They grow the best! lol

How are you team?

Question of the Day

Do you have any houseplants? If so, what kind?

I have NO houseplants. Many houseplants are poisonous to birds. Once we got the first bird, and lived in the desert, I just quit having indoor plants. Tried outdoor potted plants, but most of them couldn't survive the 120o.

Water and then coffee. I drink coffee made from organic beans that are low roasted so they contain more antioxidants than in most green teas (per the packaging!). I combine regular and decaf so it's basically half-caffeinated.

Debby I won't say I trust the government at all but what choice do you have except to grow all your own foods and in the winter that won't be happening! So, my next step is to eat organic foods I won't eat conventional GMO crops from anywhere!

At 4:30AM I want my oolong/green tea mix and then I will have lemon water after I clean the coop feed the critters and before I have breakfast.

Good Morning!

February 20, Friday

Thanks for your opinions, and EJ thanks for the links. It sounds like if you trust the governments regulating, that Mexico's organics are okay.

Question of the Day

What is the first thing you drink in morning.

Coffee. Organic of course. Ha! Read in Ann Gittleman's book "Fat Flush", non organic coffee has 200 pesticides in each cup.

I wouldn't trust produce from out of the USA. It is cheaper because they don't have to follow our FDA regulations like our farmers do. Not that FDA rules are perfect either, but better than regulations on foreign grown produce. Am interested in what you all discover. (Remember manure is consider organic and if not done correctly an cause deadly illnesses.)

Good morning! I'm up and at it on this chilly morning! What are you up to today? I am working on my Avon, Epicure, etc, cleaning up the house a bit, making gluten free chocolate chip cookies and gluten free brownies too. Wish I could get out there and drop off brochures but it is just too cold! Have a great day!

Ej , mine is peaked too. By the time everyone adds something from what they have researched or already knew, we just might have a good idea of what it means to our "organic" shopping and buying.

Good Morning Team!

Debby I know what you mean about the day/date.

I have purchased organic fruits and veggies from Mexico but I soak everything in my vinegar solution before I eat or prepare anything! Not only does it clean everything but It also helps with things not molding too!

Now that you peaked my interest I will do some research on this subject!

Have a SUPER day everyone!

Feb 19, Thursday

Good Morning! Coming here every morning and doing the question of the day, I finally know for sure what day it is, and the date!

Question of the day!

What do you think of labels that say "Organic" that are from Mexico?

Haggen's bought out Albertsons here. They open today. I saw online that they will carry a lot more organic products than Albertsons does. I got their ad yesterday. Organic Roma tomatoes are $1 a pound. Woo Hoo. Then I saw "from Mexico." Need some opinions of what that might mean, or if you would trust the Organic rating.

Used to but don't now.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

I make the bed most days but not as diligently as I was when I was the last one out of it. I remember when I was 7 or 8 having a guest over night and she laughed at me because I made my bed before climbing into it. emoticon I like having the sheets straight when I get in, too.
