My brain often needs a tickle. The mind needs reminding. Is this why people go to church regularly to be reminded? I collect inspirational quotes and humorous phrases and emotional bursts converted to words. Like a pop rock candy little goodies get me to explore my mood and when they are sweet I can add another smile in one day’s time. When I am down they can remind me to lift the corners of my mouth and my eyes then eventually believe it. And a good one is worth repeating.

The greatest love story is your own.
If you miss out of life to the fullest; they win.
You are the happiness master of your own mind.
Thought is an active dynamic energy to harmonize and corrolate good.
Clear all paths to love thru forgiveness.
I may not recognize the significance until some time later.
Is my resistance to change really that strong?
Impatience does not provide the time to learn the lesson;
Awaken new ways to approach the dissolving of a problem;

ok, I like your photo, it's charming.

I was just surprised and startled a that point, but don't take it too seriously. After all, Spark has a whole calendar and section of hat stuff, and I like it. I do think when we focus on the good, our life is improved and full. I do think these sort of quotes, keep us reaching for something higher and get pleasure out of the everyday magic. emoticon

Hey Livelygirl!
Thanks for the comment on my photo.
Yes, that's me. My daughter took it in my kitchen, right before I was going to the gym. Thankfully the photo is small... or you'd see more of my wrinkles.
ha

IN any case, my point was it doesn't matter what some article says... do what pleases you and be at peace with it!

yah, I did think it stupid, that having motivational thoughts on the wall or desk, but encouraging, nor bad. Anyhow, the ones in my booklet or flip picture thing, lifts me up and is motivating.

I was just curious to others ideas on that.

BTW your pic is cute, is that you or just a hing you choose for fun,....? emoticon

O my, lively girl!

How Humans do love to generalize.
Sometimes people say controversial things, simply to get a reaction.

That's kinda what the yahoo article is about in my opinion.

That said, I don't have any inspirational quotes anywhere in my house or on my desk.
The "inspirational" quote on the bottom of my Sparkpage is... my own saying to give people an idea of what I am about.

My desk is cluttered... for a reason... years of having to hide stuff from my kids.
That said, I know exactly where everything on it is... but no one else does.
The stuff that's organized in my world... is the stuff my kids never got into!

Works for me. ha
Although I AM rethinking the lack of organization, now that there's no need for it and my memory isn't quite what it was.

Be who you are, girl.. there's only one you!

I think organization is a good thing in all ways! It also is good for the brain function as well.

Over simplistic. Sounds to me like someone was trying to justify themselves and thier own behaviour.

I must be neurotic, but I think it's too broad a conclusion.

I'm clean and organized,
but I do have a large bulletin board with pictures and inspirational quotes, etc., all to do with my writing. It puts me in the creative mood...

xoxo elle~

I'm sorry i don't have the link. it was on yahoo on Yahoo news, perhaps the finance section. Maybe one could google it.

Anyhow, it was a study about what your desk area tells about you. It showed neat people, and a group of desk areas.

emoticon They claimed the ones with motivational posters were neurotic , because they felt that were trying " to keep themselves together. "/ not lose control I don't have a desk with these things, but I do collect great positive quotes and write them down, to transfer them on a rollex type thing.

Then there is a disclaimer, but don't worry, if you fit into this, lots of great people who accomplished alot are neurotic.

What do you guys think of this conclusion ?
