Hi Mary,

Thanks for the well wishes!

It was a perfect Christ centered ceremony without fanfare. We didn't tell family until afterwards. We thought briefly about a more public ceremony and then we kept running into problems with everyone's schedule, so we made it a moment of our mature love and quietly planned the date and ceremony. God is good and we are blessed.

Today I plan to do a 45 to 60m hilly walk.

Hi Mary,

You are doing a emoticon job with your workouts. Standing abs is one of my favorite workouts...I may do a session later tonight.


I did 20m on ab roller yesterday and 40m Gazelle. Today, I did Kickin' Core with the ball.

Also, I got married this weekend. My fiancé and I went off to a lovely little chapel and had a beautiful private ceremony. emoticon

He loves me just the way I am and now I am going to love myself back to total health and fitness!!!!!!!

I can't imagine how it will be with my boys. They are not into anything but eating and playing! LOL (Well, not all of them. I do have one who will be like, no her dress won't match...) It sounds like you are making some really positive changes and working it ouuuuttttt....

I do the TJ warmup at the gym before I do my strength. They already think I'm crazy, so I might as well have some fun. LOL I'll be back to TJ Friday and Saturday.

I think your dinner for lunch is an excellent idea. It's worked well for me in the past.

Yes, Girl! I am back home in GA. So, If you have a public event in the ATL area let me know and I will try to come by and say hello, and hopefully you will meet the slimmer me. emoticon .

And speaking of Prom my son's prom is on the 26th and boys are just not into the details, we ordered the tux last week, but I am trying to get him get information so we can order the flowers, but because he is was having car trouble and he was not focused on the prom today. emoticon

The good news is that I am making more quality time for me and putting their drama into prospective.

Here is my workout updates:

4/14: TJ Punch,Kick& Jam = 50m
4/15: Walking 45 m, JJ's 5m and plan to do so ab workout tonight

My goal is to do 3 to 4 sessions of Turbo Jam a week.

My diet change is that I am eating my heaviest meal at lunch. I eat my dinner the following day at lunch and I am finding that I sleep better and have more energy to workout in the AM and in the PM.

Are you serious? I thought that you were still in Ohio! Girl, they will run you won't they? We not long got out of church. Had to drop one at a party and the oldest wants to go and get her shoes dyed for prom. I had to sit down for a minute and input my lunch and clear my mind. You're right we have to look out for ourselves...You did some great workouts this week. Let's hang on.

Yes, I am still in the game. Here is my update.

4/11: Cardio Party and JJ's

4/12: Ab Jam and Walk-A-Way the lbs.

4/13: 30m,Gazelle, 15m PM sit-ups

I have moved back to GA last October and between my adult son, my precious special needs daughter and my youngest son who is graduating from high school this year, my things to do list is none stop.

Today, I told them all things must change because I am doing to much ripping and running and my health is suffering.

I realized at midnight that I had run around so much today that I only had a fiber one bar, a banana, some Pringles and coffee. This was not good for my metabolism.

Okay, Sherry. I did Kick, Punch and Jam and Ab Jam this morning. I'm planning to go to Zumba tonight, but I'm used to working out in the AM now so it felt weird not to do something. Not to mention that sometimes things can come up in the evening. Better to get it out of the way. I did it low impact in case I do make it later.

You are such a great grandmother. I know the parents appreciate it. I am finishing up a book now and there's lots of stuff going on. It's the craziest time to be trying to get fit, but there will never be a good time. The kids are growing like weeds and keeping me very, very busy. :) Thanks for asking.

Mary, emoticon ! Good to see that you are in the gym. Your success motivates my success.

Today I did 5m JJ and 45m walk pushing my grandson in his stroller going up and down hills in the subdivision. This was a real workout. He weights 25 lbs and almost 10 mos old. I give his parents a break about once a week and this time I got him before the weekend so that my weekend will be free.

Tonight if he goes to sleep early I will do cardio party.

I am still in boot camp and so far it is helping. Last week I was stressed, depressed and grieving over lost loved ones. And this week I made up my mind to honor my love ones with a focus on my own health.

We jammed and worked our way into shape before and I see it happening again and this time for longevity! We can do this!

How is your writing? How are the kids?

I did ab jam today. Turbo Jam really helped me to lose before and when I quit doing it on a routine bases I gained my jelly belly back!

I think I'm looking for the closeness we had on this thread with Sherry, Fefe, Lisa, Fran and everybody. We really got to know each other and I've been gone so long I don't feel like I know anybody on SP like that anymore.

I know this thread is pretty much dead since Sherry got her team, but is anybody still doing TJ on here? I looked back over what I was doing when I lost my weight here in 2006 and this board and this team was a lot to do with it. I lost 20 pounds the first month doing nothing but TJ and taking part in the WOC challenges. After that it was 8-10 pounds a month. (And I had the nerve to be mad! I'd be too happy to see it now). So, anyway, if any Turbo Jammers are still around, let's get this thread going. I'm trying a Zumba class tomorrow and then back to the old TJ schedule for me for at least a month.

I know that when I'm done, I'm going to fell good!! About myself & my accomplishment, it's just getting in there to do it! Maybe this new group that Sherry started will be it!!

Farol,

No, we are on Week #7 where we will run 25-minutes without walking. I ran 25-minutes on Saturday and I was quite pleased with myself. I ran approximately 3.0 miles in this 25-minutes and ran it at a comfortable pace. I run in the parks, because of my knees and concrete is very abusive on your knees. I love running in the park, despite the few deers that scared the crap out of me. LOL However, once it starts getting colder, I will be getting a gym membership in order to run on a treadmill. Also, make sure you have a very sturdy and good bra and shoes make the difference. Keep track of your mileage, because you should change your shoes every 6 months or so. Let me know how you do when you start.

Fefe, emoticon , keep up your jam and thoses abs.

Curves & Farol, I love the TJ abs and especially the stand up abs. I really feel them. You have to mantain the tuck and what Anna Maria she is good with her movements. The standing abs has been really good for me with trimming down that awful side fat.

I will be doing standing abs tonight. I also went to the public library and got a Billy Blanks DVD and I will try it out tonight. I get to play around with it for 7 days to see if I can get into the Billy Blanks groove. The library here carries a lot of workout DVD's but the move fast off the racks.

I will report in on my progress.

Curves~Actually half of it is standing abs & half of it is on the floor! It's kind of interesting. I'm probably the only one, but I don't really like the standing abs, I don't really feel it. I'm probably not doing it right!! LOL!! I try tho'!!

Hi Ladies!

Good to see all of you keeping up with your workouts! I've had a busy weekend so far, I went to my friends house on Friday & had a girls night with her and her roommate. They both have boys & they & my son played together & the roommate & myself have girls & they kinda played together, but for the most part went to bed. Then I came home the next day & found out my sister & my cousin were coming to visit. My cousin just left! So far it's been busy & tiring. I haven't gotten in a workout out at all this weekend! I'm so proud of all of you that have!

So I did some weighing and measuring, and everything has stayed the same! I did it on Friday & don't have the stats in front of me right now to post, but I will look back in the posts later & do it.

I finally got a jogging stroller, now I need to go check out a few areas to do the C25K training. I'm ready to get started!!

Well Ladies, congrats to all of you that met your goals from the challenge. I'm proud of you all for sticking with it!!

Thanks so much Sherry for being such a great leader in the challenges!!

Now, I just need to pick myself up off the floor & get back into it, I never noticed before, when I was a huge carb eater, but yesterday I ate soooo much carbs & today I felt BLAH!!! I still feel pretty bad, but I've been eating a lot of veggies to try and give myself a pickup!

Well Ladies, I will be checking in on my workouts also. It gives me a reason to do my workouts, to know that I have the support of all of you, helps me to get get it done! For the most part anyway. emoticon

I was wondering, can we keep this forum to keep tracking our TJ? We shouldnt just wait until the next challenge to come back & report what TJ we are still doing on a daily basis.
It makes me feel good to track & post my TJ in here, plus I feel lonely not having to account for my TJ regimen in here.lol

Mary, I am really big on the midnight workouts, because no one interupts me...but I usually have a lot of energy and can't go to sleep right away, so that when I write until I get sleepy. emoticon

Ladies, I'm proud to report that the scale has finally moved. I'm down to 179.5. Yeah me!!!! I seriously tweaked my workout. As you guys know I work 2 jobs, so my time is limited. But on Mon, Tues, Wed(when I usually work the 2nd job) I jogged for 20 min. On Thurs I did cardio party and lower body jam. On Fri I did cardio party and booty sculpt+abs, and today I did the 20 min jam and Turbo sculpt. Woo hoo!!! I guess this is going to be my new workout schedule. WOW!!!! emoticon

Hey ladies,

I haven't had a midnight workout in a while, but it was like that tonight. I did Kick, Punch and Jam for the first time and really enjoyed it. I did Lower Body Jam after that. I'd better get to bed if I'm going to get up and beat that sun for my jog in the AM.

As for me I will continue with my efforts to modify my eating behaviors and also continue exercising. My plan for after work is Tae Bo and TJ. I currently do 50minutes with the DVD's but I am going to step it up to a full hour.

My workout plans are to run on Saturday for 25-minutes. I will be resting on Sunday. As far as eating goes, I am really thinking about doing a sort of detox starting this weekend. I know it's the holiday, but I don't want to use that as an excuse to overeat. We'll see about this.

Also, as far as my results, I did not lose any weight, but I loss 6". I am pleased with that. I am going to start Billy Blanks' Bootcamp this upcoming week and incorporate the Firm. Also, I am going to go and check out this gym up the street from my house, because they are month to month!

So, there's my plan for the upcoming week.

That sounds good. Thanks for accomadating us once-a-month weighers. :) Everything seems pretty mucht eh same im my stats, but I did lose two pounds last week which was during the challenge. I'm now in size 22 jeans. They were tight on saturday, but falling off me (literally) this morning. I don't know what's up with that unless I measured wrong.

Farol, I understand...I am glad you are here.

Steph, I will be coming here and posting my workouts...I will be doing TJ and other.

I did 20 min and Abs tonight instead of sculpt. I was good be me. I don't have Billy Blanks but if I find a resonable priced copy I think I will alternate with it also.

Mzthicknsexy, Look at you even doing it on your schedule you have got some good results. Keep jamming girl and eating healthy you will get to your goal.


emoticon The next 10- Day Challenge will be September 22nd ending September 30th, with weigh in October 1st. For those of you that are doing the once a month weight in it will be okay to use your 1st of Sept. numbers for the challenge.

I'm not recording weight & measurements today because they won't be accurate, Aunt Flow is here!! I wish I would have stayed on course for the ten days, but this past week has just been so crazy!! Nothing went as planned!! Oh well, hopefully I will get back on track soon!!

Curves I agree. This is the first work out DVD that I have ever had that delivers on what it says.
I havent weighed or measured anywhere else yet, I will do that later this afternoon. But my waist is down to 54" from 58" & my arms are down from 19 1/2 to 16.25". So I cant wait to check on weight & legs.

Ending weight: 153 lbs.

Chest: 39 3/4 in.
Upper arms: 11 1/2 in. (L) / 11 3/4 in. (R)
Waist: 32 in.
Hips: 40 1/4 in.

I met my goals, so I am happy.

I believe in this work-out. I really think she's on to something. It is the first "as seen on TV" product I've EVER bought!

Don't get discouraged by the scale! How are your clothes fitting? Are you measuring yourself, because you could be losing inches? Sometimes it takes the body time to adjust to what you're doing. For example, it was about 3-4 weeks before I broke my recent plateau! I had to eat and exercise less. I was eating about 1700-1900 calories and I was exercising about 1-2 hours/day for 7 days/week. However, once I started eating about 1500-1700 calories and exercising about 1 hour, I started losing weight. I, too, was getting frustrated! I had to make some serious adjustments to my diet and workout! Maybe you need to investigate your eating habits and workouts.

Hey ladies,

Just checking in to let you all know I'm still here. I had a sick child in the emergency room and I've been thrown off ever since. I'm going to try to squeeze some TJ in before bed. I have a work project due that I need to stay up and finish but I'm going to call it a night. I don't know if I'll be weighing tomorrow or not. This week has been a hot mess. LOL

Good Evening Ladies,

I did the Firm this evening along with my run/walk. When I miss a day, I am thrown completely off. Oh well! Starting tomorrow I am going to be doing a challenge with Billy Blanks' Bootcamp DVDs. I am going to join some of the ladies and see if TJ has helped me to be ready for good ole Billy! emoticon

I am going to incorporate the Bootcamp with the Firm. In addition, after Labor Day, I may do the Fat Smash challenge. But, I want to investigate it more, before I commit! We shall see!

I just did the Cardio Party #1, followed by a 40-minute run sandwiched between two 5-minute fast walks.

I considered not eating much of anything after I TJ'd tonight - to get a better weigh-in... But then I about slapped myself for even thinking of doing that!

That's not what this is about. This is a long-term thing; it is NOT a quick fix!

So since I exercise after work, I often do not eat until 8 or 9. I will be TJ-ing, eating, and not worrying about tomorrow's numbers... Because the nourishment from the supper is necessary, and having a super-empty stomach tomorrow morning is not.

I am in it to win it, and I am going to do it RIGHT! None of this rushed, not eating properly to see an over-night result mess! emoticon

I'll check in once I've done my TJ... and hopefully a run, too! :)

emoticon DAY 10 - Cardio Party

It's day 10, I was slapped with a sinus migraine headache...it has got to be the changing weather. The good news is that I slept most of the day from the meds and now I am better.

I will be at the Cardio Party tonight. I have been good with my exercise during the challenge but not as well with my diet...I have been dealing with some stressful family news and had a carb feast for a couple of days. I've identified my weakness and I am back in my lane on this journey.

I still look foward to my numbers tomorrow!

MZThick~Have you tried upping your water intake. I've heard a few different people talk about that. Also, if you are working out more, you are supposed to up your calories a bit!! If you go in and change the amount of excercise you do the may adjust your calories. Hope some of that helps you!

Well, I didn't get the TS in yesterday! I don't even know what happened to my day!!

Good morning jammers!!!

Okay......when I left work last night it was pouring rain. No need for an umbrella because the wind was blowing like crazy so water was everywhere. No need for shoes because my feet was under water because of the terrible flooding. So anyway I get home and go to check the exercise room which is in my garage (you have to go down 1 big step from the basement to enter the garage)and I see there is a little water, so I get the broom to try and sweep the water down the drain and tripped and hit the garage opener!!! emoticon OH MY GOSH!!!!! The water just came rushing in. No offence but it almost reminded me of the beginning of hurricane Katrina. I rush to close the garage back but so much water had got in and it was starting to run over the big step and into my basement. Hubby was at the supermarket so I was on my own at this point. Long story short, the drain started eliminating the water at a faster pace so the basement didn't actually flood but I think all the exercise equipment maybe ruined! I was so upset. Of course I did not work out last night but I know sweeping the water out of the garage all last night had to count for something. emoticon

Ladies, I think I've hit a plateau. So as Emeril would say, I decided to kick it up a notch. So I've been jogging, for about 20 min. I'm still doing the Turbo Jam. But I can't get past 182. It's like I'm stuck here. If you guys have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks

She's no longer vomiting & she slept thru the night, and she never had a fever, so that leads me to believe it was something her tummy didn't agree with or couldn't digest, or her teeth. She is a little grumpy this morning tho'.

All right ladies! Y'all are doing up in here as usual. Today's schedule is the Couch to 5k walk/jog and Turbo Sculpt for me.

Farol, Sorry Wal Mart didn't have them locally. Each region stocks different things. Sometimes if you catch someone in that section, they can order it. Same for Borders and B&N, they will order for you although if you ask them to check the computer, they usually have some of them.

I fell out last night after my kids' open house and have a lot on tap for today as a result. The rest was much needed though.

Hi Ladies!!

I did it!! I did Fat Blaster & Yoga Booty Ballet Abs & the Meditation. I feel soooo good!!

I usually like to get my workout done earlier, because they say your burning more calories if you workout & I would rather do that throughout the day, than when I'm sleeping. So, I'm either going to try to get up earlier & do it earlier in the day, not at Leah's nap time, or else I will have to do it later in the evening. I've been waiting around for nap time, and that just eats up my day! Some days she doesn't go down for a nap until 2 or 3!! Then I just sit around and wait!! So, wish me luck!!

Also, if you could send up a little prayer for my little girl, I would appreciate it! It's nothing serious, she just had a bought of vomiting this evening, and I'm just hoping she's not sick. I really think it's teething.

Mary, I looked at Walmart & didn't see any of your books, it's online, but I don't want to wait for shipping!! Hopefully I will get to Sam's tomorrow & if they don't have it, Target! And if they don't have it, I'll come back to the computer & order it!!

I know that you are all sleeping & won't read this til the morning!! I hope you all are having sweet dreams!!
