I just got a FitBit One! I would definitely want to be able to check it throughout the day, and was surprised by the hype around the new FitBit that doesn't give you this option (and doesn't count stairs climbed).

Another difference is that the Flex doesn't do floors. I am pre-ordering it for my boyfriend but will try it out first :) It's not out till May 15, at least (to be received May 17.. from Amazon.. you can't even pre-order now on Fitbit which is not a good sign!) I worry that it will not be as accurate on the wrist.. and I would miss being able to see my stats on it, and my floors at all. I also wouldn't want to wear on my wrist ALL the time. I'm thinking it will work well for him though.

It still just says water resistant---doubt it would do well being underwater for long times---we can only hope that they will invent one for our use in pools---I would really like to see how many calories and what it says I cover in steps in the pool at water aerobics---but also wondering how it would handle it being in deep end where most of mine takes place.

I read on another site comparing the two that you can not see your steps on the Flex. To get your data, you have to go online to the fitbit site and sync the device!

I can't imagine not being able to check the device regularly thoughout the day so see how I'm dong.

It WILL transmit your data to an iPhone 5; but I don't have one of those.

OMG, the Flex is actually waterproof! I guess if one took steps in the shower this would be a good thing. I wonder if it can withstand being in the pool?

here is the link for comparing them

honestly though no reason I can think of for wearing it in the shower. Wish it was able to be worn while swimming

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. Anne! That's IT! Thanks so much!

I knew there was something that made it easy. I, too, need to be able to just look at it.

You might want to look on their page where they compare the two side by side

I like you with the one it is hidden on you on your waistband or bra and does not look sporty especially if you already wear a watch.

What I saw on a different post was that you have to look at your dashboard to see your stats. I am one who needs to just look at the little fitbit to see how I'm doing. Perhaps someone else has more info, though.

I'm still rocking the Ultra but I'll need to replace it sometime.

I was looking at the Flex and it appears that it's not RELEASED yet (I thought it was...). Otherwise, why might I *not* like it? It seems to do everything and be waterproof but only worn on wrist.

Any other noticeable differences?
