Teamkel on your fitbit page they have a services tab you have to link fitbit to sparkpeople and it will sync. Also look in your sparkpeople on you activity page (fitness) and you should see a question if you are using a exercise device then there should also be a link there to link your fitbit. The steps on both sides should have instructions.

I'm wondering if the computer I'm working on (at work) has to have to software on it to link with Sparkpeople.

Here's what I do: I link my fitbit to my Iphone, which has both the Fitbit app and the Sparkpeople App. Fitbit app finds my Fitbit one, and synchs.

So, then on my computer at work, I can go to the Fitbit site and see my activity. However, this does not synch to Sparkpeople.

Is the Sparkpeople synch to Fitbit : A) driven by the data at the Fitbit website, or B) driven by the Fitbit software that one can install on their computer? I can't do that at work, and I work away from home. Would still like to be able to link/sync the two.

Thoughts?

@ 67YKCEB:

Glad that Customer Service did contact you. There are some further adjustments you can make with the Services option but I hesitate to go any further as I would hate to cause your computer to quit on you completely. Perhaps you know someone who has extensive computer experience who might be willing to investigate this issue further.

I got a reply from FB. they said to go to my task manager, then to services, then FB, the start services. I did that ... Twice. for some reason my pc is turning it off. So I will just have to go through all of that to turn it back on or reinstall. Oh well. Thank you guys for your advice.

@ 67YKCEB:

I would wait for FB to reply before changing any setting on your computer. You may also consider sending them another email referencing the tracking number you received on your first attempt.

I have had a couple of issues with mine---but it ended up being a battery issue the first time---resetting the Sync thing on the computer did not work---and then the other day I had to force a sync and had to hold the Zip really close for it to find it---but has worked okay since then. So I understand the frustration!

You asked. No problem here either. (I think your FitBit hates you. It's personal.)

It does sound like it's a setting on your computer. I've had my FB since November and haven't had this problem.

This sounds like there may be a setting that needs to be adjusted on your computer. I would wait for a response from FB's Customer Service. Have you received a response for your first email. If you have you might consider sending a follow-up email referencing your assigned tracking number in 2-3 day.

I got my fitbit in December of 2012 and since then I have had to reinstall the fitbit connection about 6 times. this is the message that I get. .....

"Oh no! We found a problem! Background sync is not running on your computer. To continue, you'll need to reinstall Fitbit Connect." then there is a link to reinstall it.

I've contacted Fitbit and I'm waiting for a reply. But I was wondering if anybody else is having the same problem. I'm starting to wonder if my pc is deleting it. I use a laptop and I don't turn it off at night, so I'm also wondering if that could be cause some problems.
It's not a big deal to have to reinstall it ... just frustrating.
