I may be an idiot but I can't figure this fit bit one out! I can not figure out what I am burning through exercise and what is just sitting around doing nothing. I am going to give you yesterday in the hopes someone can tell me what is what.

Wore fit bit to bed got up it said 689 calories burned (I wont count that!), 60 minutes Biggest Loser on kennect (297 calories burned fitbit said).

Walked to and from the gym (44minutes in total), at the gym 35 minutes on treadmill (2.17 miles at a 2.0 incline with 3 minutes cool down constant speed change.), 20 minutes strength/weight exercises (different weights and some machines), 60 minutes on elliptical (4.9 miles, 5,984 strides, resistance 2.).

Later in the evening walked the park (2 laps 30 minutes a lap that 1 hour.)

End of my day fit bit said 2,676 calories, 26,250 steps, 10 floors, 11.51 miles. Now when I went to my fitness page it said steps = 26,250, calories burned exercise = 1,288, total = 2,676 distance = 11.51, sleep 6.45. Of all of this the only thing that actually posted on my fitness page as exercise was 256 minutes equaling 1,288 calories. If I add up my exercise it comes to about 279 minutes and I don't count things like walking to the bathroom or to each piece of equipment even though there are stairs involved. Now if fit bit only counts 256 minutes and 1,288 calories as exercise what is the rest? Is it exercise or considered doing nothing? If it goes but heart rate then does that mean when I am doing weights it doesnt count as exercise because my heart rate does not increase? Same with walking my heart rate does not increase when I walk around the park so does that mean it's not counted?? Someone must have gone through this or something like this please help me.

I have had that same experience and it all gets back to normal when I input it by hand.

I am guessing you let it sync on its own and you did not put anything in manually. A lot of times, if you enter things manually it over rides the original sync

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

Ok that I can understand but what about yesterday with it only sinking a portion of my calories?

Your FB will pick up your calories burned while sleeping as long as it is near you. Mine also picks up steps when my body moves around to much . those with restless leg syndrome see their steps more during the night since the legs are moving around . also a bad dream will cause steps, like you are running from someone

Hi, I am having a problem or maybe I am not smart enough to figure this thing out but anyway... I have the fit bit 1 and yesterday when I did the sink thing after my workout my fitness page said 47 minutes, 437 calories. Now the fit bit 1 itself had said over 1,000 burned and I have to say the workout was a lot longer then 47 minutes anyway! Then I did not wear it to bed last night and when I looked at it first thing this morning it said I had walked 40 steps and I burned 817 calories!!! Yeah right... What am I doing wrong?

The uninstall and reistall did not work for me the last time----and I cannot do that myself so I waited for several weeks before I could try it as I needed my son's help---and really, we should not have to do that unless we put it on a different computer. But the battery did---but so far it is working again once I forced the sync yesterday afternoon.

The problem must be internet wide, as I too have had a problem again. The directions NOW, say to UNINSTALL and then reinstall. I shall try that as it worked before.....

I have gone through 2 ultras and now on my second one due to it not picking up steps and quitting on me several times.

It will just be the 2nd time since the very end of December---but would think the battery would not be an issue this soon---I did comment on that to customer service before---but if it keeps it up I will definitely be contacting them----I do love it and the fact that it syncs for me.

if you are removing the battery that much, contact their customer service dept. They will help you and perhaps get you a replacement one.

I tell you, I was really worried but after a while, both Friday's and Saturday's(so far) have shown up now on my Spark page. I am in a walking challenge at work and I use the sync here on Spark to enter my data for that---and last week I won the weekly prize---I was thrilled---and hope to put in a good showing for my school.
I had issues before and had to take the battery out and then put it back in---which makes no sense as I have not had the Zip that long---so I am thinking I will do that either at the end of the evening or first thing in the morning---don't want to lose my steps today as I am on a roll.

Since you tried syncing manually on the fitness page, did you try to reset your FB on the FB page and then try syncing again

Just discovered that my Fitbit did not sync here on Spark yesterday and was not doing it today either---so I did force a sync but it did not show up here on Spark---at least yet. Anyone else having issues?
