You can take it off during exercise. The fit bit doesn't seem to allow you to say: "Those steps there? Those are from running 4 miles."

My fitbit had not been syncing regularly. It quit again this morning. My husband bought a new battery and put it in, and now it's working. I didn't know the battery was low. So I will add my aerobics, etc. manually that I did when it wasn't working. I just put it back on.

you are doing what most of us are doing. IF you don't wear your FB for certain exercises like swimming or something with a lot of sweat those can be logged into FB for the activity credit

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? I don't log anything else in on FitBit. I mostly sync it to SP and that's it. I was just wondering if I was missing out on anything by not listing the specifics in SP or if it is enough to just have it listed that I did 10,000 steps that day.

I'm fine with just listing it as 10,000 steps - just wanted to make sure I was doing it right.

emoticon If you are wearing your FB and logging the same activity you are basically double counting what you have done, plus sadly anything logged in manually does not sync over to SP and your dashboard for your weekly activity counts

Got my FitBit (Zip) last week and have been loving it ever since. I'm sure you all know the feeling. Since having the FitBit I have been mainly focusing on keeping moving - and doing cardio. Earlier I was doing Pilates - and I love it, but want to first focus on cardio and then move on to other things like strength training.

I'm a homeschool mom of 4 (3 who are school-age) so I can be rather busy. I keep moving during the day and try to make up all the needed steps at night by doing cardio. Since starting I have been using the treadmill - jumping on the trampoline - and riding my spin bike. What I am wondering is: is there any benefit to logging those exercises or just be happy with getting my 10,000 steps in for the day. In other words - each day I only log those 10,000 steps as my exercise and nothing else. This includes steps made while biking - jumping - jogging or walking on the treadmill - and just pacing around during the day.

Any suggestions?
