The Ultra, at least, doesn't measure sweat but can be adversely affected by it if you sweat a lot! When clipped BFC, most folks have better results if they make sure the button is facing out.

Rylee, fitbit doesn't measure sweat. I think you are thinking of the Bodymedia/Bodybugg type devices (a lot of people confuse them). Those devices measure body temperature, sweat and movement. Fitbit only measures movement in three directions and altitude (if you have the ultra or one, not sure about flex, but not the zip). The three directions, I believe, are forward and back, left and right and up and down. At least that is what is common with tri-axis accelerometers and seems to be the case with fitbit as well.

I would think it would measure sweat if it was slipped to the waistband of your underwear instead of your pants or clip it to the neckline of your shirt when you are working out.

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

I'm not sure how it could measure sweat for those of us that wear it in a pants pocket.

I had read on the FB site that it's a type of three dimentional tracker and can monitor sweat. Is this right and if it is, how exactly does that work if it's clipped to my pants or in my pocket? Just curious.
