Thanks for the feedback. I didn't consider an allergy! No one else is having this issue so I'll consider the allergy solution and not wear it next to my skin. I appreciate all the input on this forum.

I've never had that problem, and mine is in contact with my skin all the time. It sounds more like you are having a skin reaction to the device, maybe the material it's made out of is an allergen for you? Do you have any allergies (like to latex maybe?)

Thanks for responding.

The pain or senstation is not due to pressure on a tender spot. My stomach is very soft. I even have a red mark the next morning form the device. One day I wore it clipped to the inside of my bra and I had a red mark and sharp tingling while I was wearing fitbit.. I just wonder if the bluetooth rays are unhealthy; do they interfere with our bodies natural electric current. As I reread this post, it sounds nutty. emoticon

When I exercise, I clip it to my sock. It seems to catch more of my movements. At work, I typically clip it to the inside of my front pants pocket (by my hip).

Oh no!!! I lost my Fitbit today! I reworked all of Costco, but no luck.

Hopefully, it came off when I was at a friend's party. She's going to look for it at the building where the party was held.

I think I'll need a safety cord on it in the future, or o the new one I'll have to buy.

I don't wear a bra, so it goes either in my shirt or pants pocket. At bedtime, I clip it to the collar of my shirt.

I wear mine on my bra. My husband wears his on his waist. We will go for a walk together and we have about the same stride. His always registers more steps and more mileage than mine does. But I am going with the bra because it is more secure and I am less likely to lose it there.

Definitely bra. The one that I lost was on my pocket. I've read that some people attach a lanyard so if it comes off, it won't go far. But for now, the only safe place I've found is the bra.

I'm a new user, but put mine on my bra as that's the only thing I wear everyday. Days off are pants free, but the girls always need support, even on days off. I wear it face in to make sure not to loose it. So far, I am in love with the little thing!

Mary, is the pain from the fitbit pushing on a sensitive nerve or skin area? I ocassionaly have pain if the fitbit is positioned to push into my skin (I wear mine on my bra, and sometimes the angle gets a bit wonky). Try adjusting it or moving it to the other side and see if that helps.

Ok, gotta go with the bra wearers. I notice immediately if it falls out and it fits pretty darn secure.
I cycle some and it records accurately with that activity there too!
And I guess the big deal is we wear it and love it and the counting of the steps motivates us to move more, so wear it and reap the benefit!! emoticon

I wear mine on my bra clipped outside during the day on on waistband of panties at night. Since I am retired I don't worry much about the bump at my chest. ai really hadn't thought about wearing it face in. I'll try that. Thanks!

I keep my FitBit One in a coin purse in my pocket (yes, I have become my father - I carry a coin purse). I also keep my ID and flashdrives in it. I started doing that with my old step counter when the plastic clip broke, preventing me from clipping it to my belt. I found that just carrying it loose in my pocket it would not count the steps properly but inside something heavier it worked just fine. With the FItBit it works out great. When I first started using it I would check every once in a while to make sure it was keeping accurate count and it seems to be right on whether I'm walking, running, riding my bike, playing racquetball or other activities. The best thing about keeping it in a carrier is less chance of losing or accidentally washing it. The only problem I have had it taking the carrier out of my pocket to use the flashdrive and forgetting to put it back. A couple of times I've left it on my desk for several hours and missed a lot of steps

You know, at first I was thinking the bra might be a bad idea because it's not going to register the walking motion, but now I'm starting to think that it might depend on what you've got going on up there. In other words, if you don't have a lot of movement up top, you might want to bring it down to the waist level. Definitely at the waist or pocket for proper reading of cycling. Everything else, experiment!

When in doubt, take a hike.

The only time I don't wear it facing inside the bra is when I'm working out. I sweat too much and I've had to do a reboot a couple of times after I did that. So, out for the gym and inside for everything else so that I don't have an odd bump.

I had something similar happen to me. I was walking along and noticed my fitbit wasn't in its holder anymore. Now obviously I panicked a little. I started thinking about where I had been so I might retrace my steps. Then I had the bright idea to check my bra and see if by any chance my bra had caught it. Sure enough, when it had fallen out of its case, my fitbit had just snuggled in with the girls. Saved! emoticon So clipping the fitbit on the inside of your bra has its advantages.

I wear it on my bra. I love that I can put it on and forget about it and that people don't know I am wearing it. An extra bonus of being able to hide it is that some of the wristbands are not so attractive and would not go with the business casual attire I am required to wear to work.

Mine stays on my bra. It did "pop" out of the rubber case (I have a One) and fell though my shirt. I noticed on the ground. So now I wear it facing the inside of my bra. That way if it "pops" out again my ample "puppies" will catch it. emoticon

Yeah, I kinda go insane when I misplace my fitbit. It came off my wrist one night in bed and I didn't realize it until I got down stairs. Hubs was still sleeping, so I couldn't run up there right away and find it. AND . . . Look at all the steps and stairs I was missing!!! LOL!!!

I wear mine clipped to my bra because it's the easiest place when I'm working out. I will NOT be wearing it in my jeans pocket any more. OMG!!!! It fell out of my pocket yesterday and I didn't realize it for about 3 hours when I was getting ready to transfer it to the wristband to go to bed. I nearly had a stroke. I had a very hard time sleeping worrying about where it was and the fact that my son was having surgery this morning and then spent 3 hours this afternoon looking for it before I found it. Yeah, it stays FIRMLY clipped to me from now on.

I wear mine on the waistband of my pants and am comfortable that it is measuring correctly as I often wear my Garmin 305 (which measures distance based on GPS technology) and they measure almost exactly the same on mileage. I have the Ultra.

KLAD_COCKERS, sometimes if you are carrying something and it is blocking the FB it will not record the steps. Learned that many times carrying the laundry upstairs

Also learned that sometimes if I stop in the middle of climbing the stairs, it will break the motion that I am stair climbing

I wear mine in my pocket. I think the main thing is to consistently wear it in the same place as much as possible. Then you know if it says you had more steps today than yesterday, you really did have more steps.

If you do what you always do, you will get what you always get. To get something different you have to do what you never did.

I have worn my FitBit in both locations as well (pocket of pants and bra) and the readings have been reasonable. I have the One, if that matters.

What I do notice is that sometimes it counts "stairs" and sometimes it doesn't, and I don't know why. My bedroom is in the basement, and sometimes when I go to the main floor it shows 1 floor, but other times it doesn't. I don't worry about it much, since it's the steps I'm most concerned about anyhow.

I wear my Fitbit in the same two locations ad BOOKAPHILE, depending on what I'm wearing. I never noticed anything out of the ordinary, but just did a little test. I attached it to the pocket of my jeans and took 25 steps. When I synced it, it showed 25 steps. I moved it to my bra, took the same number of steps and, sure enough, it showed 25. I wonder if the type of Fitbit makes a difference? Mine is a FB One.

If I'm wearing Jeans, I clip mine to the coin pocket with the lower part of the unit in the regular pocket. In a dress, I wear it on my bra. I don't ever put it on my waistband as it is uncomfortable there. I haven't noticed any difference in the way it records my steps between locations.

I only wore mine on my bra once and I probably wouldn't in the future unless I was wearing a dress. I wear mine on the waistband of my pants or skirt... I know the one day I wore it on my bra the number of steps was lower, but that was also the first full day I had it. Since then I've made an effort to take more steps, so I think both are probably accurate.

When I wear mine on my bra, it doesn't pick up all of my steps. When I wear it on the waist of my skirt or slacks, it does pick them up accurately, so I wear mine on the waist of a garment.

I, also, wear it on my bra and have from the beginning.
So, I can't comment on a waist band reading.
I wear it on my pj's neckline while sleeping.

I wear it on my bra. It fits snug and I don't fear losing it like I do in a pocket or on my waist band.

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

I have been wearing my Fitbit on my bra showing what I would say was an accurate report of my steps. Then I switched and put it on the elastic of my panties WOW!!!!! Showed I had more than 3 miles of steps which I know I didn't do as I spent most of the day typing on the computer. SO, that tells me it makes a difference where the Fitbit is put. Has anybody else noticed this ? Thanks Rockman and others for all the input of info on this site. Barbara

God is good !
