I got my FitBit yesterday and set it up today. I downloaded the iPhone app as well, but looked through the comments since the app was rated like 1.5 stars... the comments all basically said that the last update sucked and messed everything up. Hope the app gets fixed soon (I haven't bothered trying it since the comments make it clear it's really bad right now).

I have the app and iPhone 5. I like it because I work 10+ hours a day and it lets me know where I am throughout the day. It is a little buggy, it just had an update and now it takes a very long time for my iPhone to find my fb one. Before the update it was instantaneous. It also lets you see your friends and how they are doing and how you stack up. I agree that if you are home a lot it might not be useful, but if you are out and about a lot it is awesome o-possum.

I have a galaxy III which now syncs with the fitbit mobile app. I found this very useful while I was away on business. You have to remember to turn on the bluetooth so that the fitbit one and the mobile app will work together. Now I do not have to remember to log into my home computer to sync my fitbit one. It pulls the steps from my mobile app and the food from SP. It makes it much easier for me.

I also really only use the fitbit app to log my weight and bodyfat percent. It is a little easier to log it on my phone in the morning right after I weigh myself. Otherwise I don't personally find the app very useful. It doesn't contain all the information. I have an Ultra and have to sync through my computer, I am sure it is different for owners of the zip or the one. ??? And I am sure it is different for people who log food through fitbit, but I find fitbit's food logging lacks options and features and am more likely to use the Spark app for that.
I have the android app and love it. It syncs via bluetooth with my phone, so I always know what my stats are. You can add food in the app or have it come in from Sparkpeople. You can add activities, track your weight and water intake. I can see what my friends stats are, but can't add friends from the app. I have a Samsung galaxy S3.

I use the iphone app everyday. I enter my weight and BF as I don't have to bother logging in to my laptop first thing in the morning. After I have synched, I use it check my sleep stats from the last night.
I have an old iphone, so it wouldn't synch even I had a newer FB.
