So I wore a bra last night and clipped the fitbit onto it. It has me awakening 7 times.....about right it was hot in here last night and I was stressing over my dog getting spayed today. it also registered 14 steps and I did get up to go to the bathroom sooo I think i will find a comfie "sleep" bra to sleep in for a few nights and see what happens there. I just hate feeling hot and sweaty when i wear one.

I've moved the fitbit to my waist and am getting much more realisitic readings. I slept for 7 hours 28 minutes, went to sleep in 31 minutes, and woke up 9 times. Today is the first day I woke up without steps registered! I do have apnea but I am not using CPAP since I lost some weight. I guess this was the greatest sleep I have had in a long time, and I think it registered accurately. The only problem, I didn't feel the alarm go off! I woke up anyway. I guess it has me trained. My only complaint is the nightmares I had!!!
Thanks for all of the advice.
Lily

I move alot at night so I usually register "awaken" 20plus times a night. It is all in the wrist/arm movement. When it registers long periods of movement it is when I am up going to the bathroom which is a few times a night. LOL!

me too, but now I am worried as it seems to have my "exercise" minutes and calories burned really high, but then again so did my HRM (and for that I was concerned that THAT was due to my heart defect, my heart beats kind of like "squishsquishsquish" in stead of "glub glub, glub glub" (I have mitral valve regurgitation)

The times that your FB shows you "awake" are actually just body movements. With regards to steps it probably is registering your movement as you sleep. I view these as "bonus" steps!

I have the ultra and never had an issue with the band coming off or losing the fitbit. (can't attach to jammies as well I don't wear any. I am concerned it has me at between 10 and 55 steps when I am not a sleep walker and I hadn't got up to use the restroom (which is 28 steps there and back) It also has me waking up 30-30 times sometimes (have already been tested for sleep apnea and don't have it, just severe allergies and asthma)

@Lilyputin - I agree with you - normal is too easy and sensitive too much so for my sleep patterns. I have started clipping it to my pj's near where I would clip it to my bra. The results (though not what I'd like to see!) are more accurate for my sleep pattern. Maybe that solves your armband problem at the same time, though I haven't had problems with the armband myself.

I have a FB One and i think the armband is very secure. Too tight sometimes, actually. I have only had it come off in my sleep once. Maybe they upgraded it?

It is the fitbit one with the wide sort of meshy velcro-on band. I've been using it since November and it has never fallen off before. I know was pounding my pillow and I was restless after 5, and it shows restless after 5, so maybe it just fell off right before I found it when I got up about 7. I'm going to try the advice to clip it on closer to my body. I'll see if I can get readings that seem more in line with my perception. Sensitive seems too sensitive and normal seems not sensitive enough. I'll try it someplace not my wrist.

The fitbit one armband isn't too bad. I haven't had trouble with it yet.

My ultra was a pain in that case between falling out and also when I slept , since I am a side sleeper would annoy me to no end when I turned on the it was on some mornings I actually found kicked it to the other end of the bed

that was when i switched to my nightshirt also found something interesting that way I was really moving my legs a lot and some mornings, like today i woke up with 90 steps without leaving the bed since before midnight. That is one thing my doctor likes as it shows her if I am having a neuroloigcal disorder when I sleep and how often it happens

I have a Ultra and use the armband every night and have never had a problem with the band or the Ultra coming off.

Is the armband different for the newer models?

Really? I use the armband every night and even during the day when I'm being lazy and don't have a bra on. It's only fallen off me once (and it did list me as sleeping really well during that time LOL!)

What time did it fall off? If it was active after 5am, maybe it fell off at 5:30 (after you were so active). Your activeness might have been what caused it to fall off. Like maybe you were tossing and turning a lot?

@LILYPUTIN

USMAWIFE is right. I have used the armband a total of one time and that's the only time I couldn't find the FitBit...in the sheets.

I don't usually track my sleep anyway.

I agree with Pam. The wristband that is supplied with the FB is not very secure.

try clipping your fb to a nightshirt or pj's instead of using the armband that way it will not fall off on you while you sleep

I found my armband on the floor when I got up this morning. I figured it would say I had a good nights sleep. Ha! 4hrs 36mins, about average for me, but VERY active after 5am. What was that thing doing down there on the floor? Well, it wasn't set on "normal" so I guess it was abnormal!
