Had this problem and used a quarter to open my Zip.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4.

Dreamweaver1637: Thank you so much for that tip, using a penny to open up the battery compartment! I was given my FitBit as a gift, a used one with no packaging or anything. So there was no tool to open the back. I was about to give up. Thanks!

The ZIP opens so you can replace the battery.

Use a penny. It'll work just fine.

I am not had that problem but perhaps sending a email to FB's customer service and ask for them to send you another one

perhaps taking it to your hardware or local optical store and seeing if they have a tool small enough to open it for you a lot of times, the folks there will help you out

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much
