Camperliving, you can edit your sleep record so it reflects your actual sleep (assuming you were wearing the fitbit, of course). Just go into your sleep log, hover on the right corner of the sleep record box--you should see two little icons an x to delete and a little "notepad". Choose the notepad and it gives you options to edit similar to the activity records--change your wakeup time to when you actually woke up. The problem should be solved. (You can also log sleep after the fact if you wore your fitbit at night but forgot to use the timer).

Hmmmm......I like reading you guys getting extra floors. My One seems to not register floors regularly. I live in a 2 story house with a quite steep stair case and on a good day the counter is right on but this last week it has said 0 floors when I was up and down over 20 times.....LOL I talked to the customer service (really just email) and they had me reset it and it seems to be working again. Electronics do have their limitations......last night I only slept 36 minutes, too, I'm guessing I must have rolled over and hit the button just right to mess with the data. Oh, well. This little guy has really gotten me motivated to move. It's fun to see just how many steps I can get. Love it!

Which came first, the tornado or the travel trailer??

I, too,got extra floors today. It was really windy out when I was walking, and that is when the extra floors showed up. Glad to find out this information.

Blessings,

LOL Ok that makes me feel better. It was incredibly windy out here today, the temperature and weather are completely messed up so I'll chalk it up to that. I did however make sure I went up and down stairs to get my official 10 floors per day.

The weather affects it. I have gotten extra floors today too.. it is something about the barometric pressure. It is super windy here today and storms rolled through earlier. (I am in SE New Hampshire) I ran on the treadmill and picked up 22 floors..LOL.. it is usually pretty accurate though.

I make it my goal to get in those 10 flights a day. Not always easy, but I went to the mall today to get my haircut, and did in my 10 floors. Registers exact....Step count up the stairs at 15 per flight.

I think it is working fine for me!

When I got my mine for 500 flights it was a combination of all the stair climbing to date at that point, not just for the one day.

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? I have same issue too. Yesterday, I received e- mail from fitbit congratulating me of climbing 500 flights up. And I received, helicopter badge. I haven't done such a climbing. Only thing I can remember, I was in the car about 1 hr to driving 60 mile north where I live. I have ultra and realized that mine doesn't counts stairs correct. Thinking about up grade to the "one". Hoping one does counts right.

exactly. That was my point in both of my messages.

When the conditions are right it gives you credit for a floor if it seems like you are walking or running up a 10 foot incline. Walking outside, this can be quite subtle if you walk up a gradual incline at a consistent enough pace. I know I get a floor if I walk from my grocery store to to one of the farthest parking spaces, but if I park even a little closer I do not get that floor. Being aware I can see an elevation gain, but it is not a hill. When conditions are right means your pace is consistent as pauses can cause you to lose that floor and the air pressure is "normal". I guess the altimeter works from air pressure changes so on stormy/windy days it can give a higher floor count when walking outside. Some people gain floors driving or riding in cars--just like they gain steps this might depend on where you wear the fitbit, how bumpy the route is and your car since that would mean you are moving enough (from bumps, etc) that the fitbit is registering steps.

I just checked mine since running some errans and it shows 3 floors which were given due to sligtht inclinesi in the streets. Sometimes they are so subtle you don't realize it but your fb does

@TIGTAZ325: you can also set up your stride on your fitbit account.

Mine showed 16 flights yesterday and the only thing different I did then was use an good incline on the treadmill. It will pick inclines up as flights.

I just noticed this same issue today - - received a badge for walking over 25 flights of stairs but I've only done 1.5. My only guess is its because I did a fair amount of knee lifts/raises during my workout. I don't really know how accurate the Fitbit is - - my pedometer that I used to use was programmed to my stride, etc & I wore them both for a few days & they were always off by at least 1,000 steps.

No hills or inclines, that's what's confusing me. Nothing different than usual and that's why I'm a bit concerned. Now it's clipped to my chest and I'm wondering if any bending over and back up would be perceived as going up stairs?

any incline of 10 feet in height is going to count as stairs

Mine seems to work perfectly. Remember that hills count too, have you been going up any? Pam

I've officially had my FB for a little over a week now. It's worked perfectly but today it clocks me at having done 16 floors already and I've only done 1? Anyone else experience this?
