Thanks for the tip. I will check it out. Gee, if only the thing came with an owner's manual instead of expecting me to look everything up on line!

HILLSLUG98239: you can log an activity for your ride home so that FitBit counts your activity correctly (cycling) instead of as walking.

Good to know. I wore my Fitbit on the ride home tonight. It counted my 10.4 mile ride as another 8000 steps and 33 flights of stairs.

Yes. Lack of movement will register as sleep once you have started the RECORDING. You are able to adjust a SLEEP RECORDING by clicking on the SLEEP tab on your FB page by clicking on the EDIT icon in the upper right hand corner.

Ok so i saw that with the sleep tracker the wake ups are more movements when you are sleeping. So if you go to bed but are watching TV cause your not quit ready to fall asleep if you have already set the sleep timer and you don't move for 30 mn while watching the tv it will record that as sleep time. For last night it said i fell asleep in 17 mn and I know I didn't cause I was still awake watching the TV show.

Is that what others have noticed also?

@ GYMRAT_AT44:

I am referring to the Sleep Tracker information. If you start the stopwatch when you go to bed and then stop the stopwatch when you wake up then your sleep data will sync on your FB page without you having to enter your start time and end time.

I don't use the stop watch and it still updates to my Spark page... I just log when I went to bed and when I got up and it does the rest.

OH, wow. Okay. Not sure how informative that is if someone moves a lot when they sleep, but that is good to know! Thanks!

Actually the "wake-ups" are really just movements. Anytime you shift in bed it will register as a "wake-up."

Mine showed that I woke up 10 times in 10 minutes at one point! I wonder if that was true...

Getting use to the sleep tracker, it doesn't always work, maybe it's me.

You are right it is not necessary but it so much easier to use the sleep tracker in this fashion as it sync this information automatically to your FB page.

DIANALACAT59 - that would most definitely make it difficult to track!

My fitbit has the stop watch but isn't necessary to use for the sleep tracker.

On the Fitbit One when your ready to fall asleep press and hold for 2 seconds (a stopwatch will appear) Then when you wake up press and hold for 2 seconds to stop the sleep tracker.

What do you mean sleep counter turn it on or off... which one do you have. I just wear mine and it knows I am sleeping, I just enter the times on the fitbit site.

The sleep feature is the most important to me as well but tracking all the daily numbers is the most fun.

60NLOVINIT2. You don't necessarily have to climb stairs. The Fitbit uses an altimeter which detects changes in elevation so walking uphill will also record stairs climbed. It even credits me with climbing stairs when I ride my bike uphill.

I love the step counter. I don't stairs much, no opportunity, BUT I have to admit, I will try and find some when I can. As for the sleep recording, it would be much better if I remembered to turn it on or off. I'll get it right eventually.

I love my fitbit for so many reasons. One of my favorites is that it has helped me learn to get more sleep and to try things to sleep better. I absolutely love this little gem.
