I have only tracked 3 nights' sleep so far, but I am at about 95%. I guess this doesn't surprise me, because I am dead to the world when I sleep. Last night, it said I woke up 6 times...so that makes sense. And, I used to never get up to go to the bathroom, but now that I am drinking the amount of water I should a day, I get up at least once at night.

Oh Lord, you have searched me and you know me. -Psalm 139:1

I can't remember how many times the average person wakes each night but I think it is something like 12....if that is the case, then probably waking up 15 times isn't that out of the realm of possibility. But sometimes I wake 24 times according to my FitBit! What is even odder is when it says I have walked 150 steps or something in the night and last night it said that I had 18 minutes of "fairly active" time. Gee, if I was asleep, how is it that I was so active? I don't sleepwalk, but I am a restless sleeper and I do guess I thrash around quite a lot. I keep mine on normal, not sensitive...would hate to see what it says on sensitive. I struggle to get enough sleep every night.

I know my efficiency is off because there are lots of times I am lying very still, so it thinks I am asleep, but I am not.

What I do not understand is how it can say I awoke 11 times last night and yet I have a 96% sleep efficiency.

I just bought my fitbit yesterday but I am so glad I got it. I used it for the first time last night and it said my sleep efficiency was 53% and of the 10 hours I was in bed I only got 5 hours of actual sleep. I've been tired for over the last 10 years. It's nice to finally know why. I definitely have to find a solution. I think first things first I'm going to get myself on a sleep schedule and not watch tv an hour before bed. Hopefully it will help. I'm sick of being tired all the time.

Thanks for the tip on how to change it to sensitive. It was showing that I had 97% and only woke 4 times with 6 hrs of sleep but when I changed it to sensitive it now say 75% woke up 6 times (two were really close together at around the time my husband wakes up) and only 4 hrs sleep. Makes a big difference... no wonder I am always so tired...

at least you can go and edit out some of the time to keep it honest

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The insult to injury for us with auto-immune is we have poor recovery/ health/ healing and we sleep poorly (which is when we heal!).

I fight to get a few hours of broken sleep a night. If I didn't work, I could grab a kip but I do. Therefore, I meditate for 25 minutes of my 30 minute lunch break. I don't claim it 'fixes' anything but I believe it has to help!

I usually get good ratings for sleep efficiency. On a bad night I get around 85%. I usually wake about 15 times, which I have learned is average. I don't get enough hours of sleep though, so at the end of the week I get a bad mark on my fitbit report. That is why I was curious about the sleep debt app. I just recently took a health class and we covered the topic of sleep debt. The textbook said if you don't get enough sleep, you will actually acquire a sleep debt. Eventually, you have to catch up on that missing sleep or you can end up developing any number of different health problems.

I have mine on sensitive and it says I have about 85% most nights. I don't start it until I turn off the light so it shows how long I take to fall asleep, usually 7 or 8 minutes. I usually sleep about 7 hours. On normal it said I only woke up once. Not likely with 2 dogs in the bed.

when I use normal it says also that I slept better than I did even when I lie there for an hour at a time just staring at the pillow. when I change it to sensitive is shows that hour or two I am awake where on normal it doesn't

The sensitive setting is not for general use; almost everyone should use normal. Each time you move it says you are awake for 20 minutes (in the sensitive setting).

I don't wear mine to bed anymore.. I started sleeping less well with it. I would want to shake my arm to show it I was still awake, which was counter productive!

Do you guys have yours set to sensitive or normal?

With normal, I get 90% efficiency and 8-9 hours of sleep and am still tired when I wake up, but not so tired that I can't function. I felt the same way after a night of 4.5 hours of sleep with the sensitive setting.

Going to check out that app!

If it doesn't show up normally you could manually put the information in and then click on the sensitve tracker feature to get the information

Great sleeping there!

I sometimes have trouble with the site 'taking' my data. They'll tell you to uninstall and reinstall and all that nonsense or to reset the device (mine's an ultra, don't know if the one does that)...

I've found, it's the site. Eventually, they straighten themselves out. It may be worth reporting it to them via email but they'll tell you it's you (my experience of perhaps 4 times). Usually in a couple of days it's fine for another long while. Sorry, it's a drag.

I don't monitor my efficiency and don't know how to see the metric except for last night's data which was 94% (Lance Armstrong assisted).

I've tried the sleep debt app several times and have never gotten it work (it doesn't give me any results).

I would LOVE to know more about the Sleep Debt app! This is the first I've heard of it . . . the FitBit shows me as having 95-98% sleep efficiency most of the time, but I'm always so tired that I find that hard to believe.

I got the FitBit mainly to track my sleep. I go to bed early and wake up late and I'm always tired and I think it's because I don't sleep well. I'm a very light sleeper and the slightest sound wakes me up.

I am surprised to see that for the first week I've had it (started using it on 1/1) my sleep, when in normal mode, has been about 90% efficient! I wake up between 20-25 times per night. I set it to sensitive for one night and it said I slept for only 4 hours which I don't think is true, so I set it back to normal.

I always wonder how other people's sleep patterns stack up to mine.

On the average night I get a 65 if I am lucky and had a hot bath to help me realize. Otherwise I can get into the 40 range.

If you've got the Ultra or the One, how's your efficacy?

A friend was talking about wishing she could get better sleep. I finally asked her what her percentage was and she said usually 90!

I'm luck if I get 45! My personal goal is 80%.

Granted, inactivity when awake can count as sleep BUT I'm going by the percentage as it's the best guess I have.

How's your number?
Have you connected to the Sleep Debt 'app' (it's connected on the site by the same company, just plug in a couple of numbers)?
